"Catch, Jakos!" said a young boy, as he threw some kind of satchel towards his friend. He had lovely blond hair, with icey-blue eyes. He was wearing a white shirt, which was a bit too big for him, and some blue pants. An épée, which is what you call a fencing sword, was in one of his hands. But even with a weapon in hand, he had a pleasant and calming expression on his face.

"Got it!" said the other, who was a bit older than him, and had chocolate brown hair with striking hazel-coloured eyes. He too, was wearing a simple white shirt with blue pants. And he too, was weilding an épée.

"Come on, Cubbos! Let's get out of here!" said the brunette.

The duo started running towards the busy streets of Paris, with the guards chasing after them. They hoped that they would lose them in the crowd. Which they did, but only for a short while until one of the guards spotted them again. They kept running, causing chaos on the way by knocking down barrels and pushing people down. At last, they were cornered in an alley-way with nowhere to run.

"Where do we go from here, Jakos?" asked the blond. Jakos was always the one to come up with the plans, and they always worked even though some were risky. This was one of those risky plans.

"We go up!" said Jakos as he grabbed one of the clothes lines that was hanging above him. He climbed the wall using it, and Cubbos followed. They escaped just in time, with the lady whom which the clothes line belonged to cursing and shouting at them.

"That was close…" said Jakos as he and his friend ran on top of the roofs of the beautiful houses of Paris.

"It sure was… We shouldn't let things like that happen again" agreed Cubbos.

"Agreed, mate" said Jakos.

"There they are!" shouted a man as he pointed at Jakos and Cubbos. He was with another two men, and they were on their way to catch the duo. They weren't guards, that was for sure. But who were they?

By the time Jakos had realized that they were after him and Cubbos, the man and his friends had climbed the roof of the house on which they were standing.

"Cubbos, run!" said Jakos.

The sprinted-on top of the roofs, which made the people inside the houses and shops look outside to see what was going on. But when they saw that it was those two, they just went on with their days. It seems like this was a thing that happens daily. The duo would get into some mischief, the guards would try to catch them, the guards would give up, and some other people would try and catch them for the money that the king was offering, and then they'd fail to catch them too.

But this time it was different. Jakos and Cubbos were already tired out from running from the guards and on top of that, these people were faster than the usual!

"Men! Surround them!" commanded their leader.

His henchmen did as they were told to do, and Jakos and Cubbos were trapped! They were surround in all sides, so there was no other option to fight. The two drew out their épées, and started fighting their enemies who too, took out their swords.

As the two were busy fighting three of the men, their leader saw that they were distracted. He quickly tripped them which made them drop their weapons. Without hesitation, they tied up the duo and took them away to some place.

"The king sure is going to love this…" said Alexandre, who was the leader of the group.

"Heard that, Louis? We're gonna be rich!" exclaimed Leo, to his twin brother.

They set out to the castle, singing merrily… They were let in without any problem, as they told the guard about who they caught. They went to the king, who was a cruel, evil man who was called Count De Hook. He ruled France with an iron fist, and all the people who lived there hated him with a burning passion.

"Your highness! Look who we found causing trouble in town," said Alexandre.

"Well, well, well… After all this time? You have gone around Paris, causing havoc, stealing from the rich and now finally you have been caught!" said the king. He was wearing fancy clothing, and huge crown was on his head.

Jakos and Cubbos had no way of escaping. Their hands were tied, their épées were taken from them, and even if they did manage to somehow get away from the tight grasp of their captors, the guards would stop them from escaping for sure.

"What should we do with them, your highness?" asked Alexandre.

"They will be thrown in prison, but before that, they will be displayed at the ball that is to happen today night… Let all the people know that the trouble-makers are no more!" said Hook, with an evil smirk on his face.

"And what about our money?" asked Leo.

"What money?" asked Hook.

"Our reward… For catching these two" explained Louis.

"Oh that… You will not be getting it" said Hook, plainly.

"WHAT?! YOU PROMISED THE MONEY!" shouted Alexandre, now losing his temper.

"Do you want to be thrown into the dungeons with these two?" asked the king. He knew that he had promised the money, but he didn't want to give it to them.

"No, your highness!" answered Alexandre. He knew that the king wouldn't hesitate to do that, too.

"Now, go!" shouted Hook.

They went away, disappointed. Hook called the guards and told them to lock Jakos and Cubbos in dungeons until the ball.

They were escorted, or rather pushed, to the dungeons.

"What are we going to do, Jakos?" asked Cubbos, worriedly.

"You heard the king, right? There will be a grand ball, and we will be 'displayed' there. We can escape then" explained Jake. "Until then, we gotta wait"

They did the same, wait. Though the two were great fighters and possessed other great abilities, they both lacked patience. But, they somehow managed to stay alive. Okay, that's a bit too dramatic. But you get what I mean, right?

The evening finally came, and the guests started arriving. In a carriage, a family of three were seated.

"Remember, Isadore. You need to behave once we get there" said a lady dressed in blue and black. She had a stern look on her face, and she was looking at her daughter who was sitting beside her.

"Yes, mother" said a girl, who was not happy in coming to the ball. She had brown hair with beautiful curls at the end. Her eyes matched the color of her hair, and she was wearing a pink, knee length dress with hand-embroidery on it. She would rather have stayed at home and practiced her sword fighting skills. But, since she was the one and only heir of the Jaeger family, she had to come. She looked out the window, and saw a well-lit palace where the party was to be held.

"And please, don't cause any trouble. We have a reputation to uphold" said her father, who only cared about his family name and power.

They finally reached the place, and went inside. As soon as they entered, the king went up to greet them. After all the formalities, everyone was left to mingle and talk with each other. Our little Isadore, of course, took no interest in talking to the snobby, rich people.

At last, the king went to the front of the room to make an announcement.

He cleared his throat to get the other's attention, and started speaking.

"First of all, I would like to thank you all for coming. Now, I have a small surprise to share with you all… Guards, bring them out!"

Jakos and Cubbos were being pushed to walk into the room, with thick, and strong chains that were tied to their arms. They still had no way of escaping. The king had really thought this through.

Seeing the duo in chains, everyone let out gasps and chatters. But everyone knew who they were. The duo had gotten quite famous among the civilians, with everything they've been doing.

"I caught these scoundrels trespassing in my castle… But with my amazing sword fighting skills, I fought them off" boasted Hook. Of course, all of this wasn't true at all. Many believed him, while some didn't.

But everyone was relieved to know that their riches wouldn't be stolen anytime soon by these two. But what they didn't know is that all the stolen gold, clothes and other riches weren't for Jakos or Cubbos, it was for the people in need. The country has a lot of poor people who no one cares about. They're not able to get any jobs, and can't even eat one meal a day. And the only way that they are able to eat is because of the things that Jakos and Cubbos give them. And of course, nobody present there knew that!

Except for Isadore. She had a friend who was also not the wealthiest, whom she had met when she snuck out of her house. She was the one who told her about all the good deeds done by the duo and Isadore knew that if they were captured, the people in need would suffer. She needed to do something! But what?

"Now… I would like to give you a personal of my luxurious palace! Follow me, my friends," said the king. Everyone followed him out of the ball room and into the hallways. The guards, and the people. They went quite far into the hallways, with the king in front of them, when Mrs. Jaeger looked to her right at her daughter only to not find her.

"Isadore… Where did that girl go off to now?" she thought.

Now, all the way back in the ball room, Jakos and Cubbos were thinking of some way to escape. But it was all in vain, as the chains were specifically made to trap criminals. They needed a key to unluck the lock, which was with the guards.

"Psst... Hey! Over here!"
