Isobel had given Jubal Friday off work telling him to spend it with Maggie and Abby who was still home from school feeling unwell and had stayed with Jubal and Maggie the night before. Jubal had taken Tyler to school on Friday which was something that the young boy really enjoyed as it wasn't something that happened that often.

Maggie was slowly settling in to being back at home, having Abby, Tyler and Jubal around her Thursday and Friday was really helping her. She had checked in with OA and Kristen calling them on Friday night as they had text a few times just to say that they hoped she was doing okay. She told them both that she was hoping to be back to work next week but that she would keep them posted on things.

Tyler and Abby had asked if they could stay with Jubal and Maggie again on Friday night, this was why they were up so early on Saturday morning. Tyler had a soccer match and they had to stop at Sam's house on the way to get his things as she wasn't able to make the match today due to work. Thankfully Abby was feeling better, it seemed the throat infection she had picked up had started to ease for her a little thanks to the medication, so she was feeling more like herself today and was chatting a lot more than she had been the last two days.

Maggie was really looking forward to getting to watch Tyler's game, she had really missed getting to do things like this while she was undercover. She realised how much she enjoyed the simple things like just getting time with Jubal and the kids. Tyler was over with his team getting ready for the game and Abby was being chased slowly and playfully by Maggie as Jubal stood with his hands in his pockets shaking his head laughing watching them. He had noticed that the kids had been great for Maggie, she had been smiling and laughing a lot with them and was slowly starting to feel more like herself again. Jubal was pulled from his thoughts when he heard a voice behind him,

"I see Maggie has returned home."

Jubal turned around and smiled seeing Gina, Brandon's (Tyler's best friend) mum "Hey Gina, yeah she came back home a few days ago."

"She back for good or is this just a visit?" Gina walked over to Jubal standing beside him as they both watched Maggie still running after Abby.

"She's home for good thankfully. I didn't realise how much the kids had missed her until they saw her again on Thursday."

"I can see that Abby is definitely glad to have her home." Gina laughed as she watched Maggie catch Abby and spin her around playfully making the young girl laugh with so much joy.

"Abby hasn't let Mags out of her sight since she collected her from school on Thursday, I think she's afraid that Mags will disappear again."

"Tyler said it was for work though so at least it was for a good reason. Abby will notice in time that Maggie isn't going anywhere."

Maggie came walking towards them carrying Abby on her hip, that's when Gina noticed that Maggie had a cut on her lip and cheek with a bruise around the cut on her cheek. It had started to heal and wasn't as bad as it had first looked thankfully. Gina raised an eyebrow looking at Jubal "I'm guessing that work got a little rough, I'm surprised you have let her out of your sight seeing that."

"I have only been away from her briefly when I had to go to work Thursday but my boss sent me home and told me not to come in yesterday."

"Your boss see that you were clearly missing your girlfriend too much?." Gina teased Jubal playfully.

Maggie smiled when she saw Gina standing with Jubal as her and Abby arrived beside them, Abby was still sitting on Maggie's hip "Hey Gina, it's nice to see you. I was hoping you would be here today, I wanted to thank you for sending Jubal that video of Tyler at training."

"It's good to see you too Maggie" Gina smiled honestly at Maggie "You were really missed at the last game, and I had a feeling that you would want to see how much Tyler had been improving while you were away."

Abby smiled squeezing Maggie's neck a little in a hug "Maggie is home for good now." Her smile grew even bigger saying that.

Jubal chuckled softly hearing Abby "She is baby girl, how about you let daddy hold you for a little bit, give Mags arms a rest." Jubal was conscious of the fact that Maggie's ribs were still healing and he knew that she was never going to admit to that while Abby was with her. Thankfully Abby didn't question it and went to Jubal straight away wrapping her arms around his neck resting her head on his shoulder.

Gina smiled watching Abby and when she went to her dad Gina stepped forward and hugged Maggie gently "It really is good to see you again Maggie, you were really missed by Jubal and the kids."

Maggie smiled hugging Gina back as Jubal told them he was going to get Abby something to drink, she stood beside Gina watching Jubal and Abby who kept looking over their shoulders to where Maggie was standing. "I missed the three of them so much, I only got to see Jubal twice in the five weeks that I was away."

"I see neither of them are good at letting you out of their sight right now" Gina chuckled softly "But from the way that Jubal carefully took Abby from you I'm guessing that the cuts on your face aren't the only injuries that you returned home with?."

Maggie smiled honestly as she looked at Jubal and Abby, Abby was now telling her dad a story and he was listening to every word she said but still glancing towards Maggie. "I have bruised ribs that are still healing and Jubal knows that I'm not going to let them stop me from doing things with the kids so he tries to step in when I've been doing a lot of moving."

"Like running after Abby, catching her and spinning her around?" Gina raised an eyebrow playfully "I mean most people with bruised ribs would be at home resting."

Maggie laughed softly at Gina's reaction "Okay true but most people haven't had to spend five weeks away from their family. I don't want to let work injuries get in the way of spending time with the kids, I don't want them worrying."

"You know that they have no doubts about how much you love them? I know the kids and Jubal probably tell you but I heard it for myself when Tyler was at our house and the game that you missed Abby was stuck to Jubal the whole game. He stood with me and Dan but he was hardly chatting unless it was cheering for Tyler and then he was cheering enough for the both of you. But none of them doubted your love they just couldn't wait for you come back home."

Maggie could feel tears in her eyes as she listened to Gina, she really appreciated that she was telling her this because it was really nice to hear that the kids and Jubal never forgot how much she did love them. "Being away from them was one of the hardest things I've ever done, so thank you for telling me that Gina, because it does make me feel a little better knowing that they never doubted how much I love them. Thinking of the three of them is the what got me through."

"I just thought it was something that you should hear from someone that isn't family, I mean it's obvious to anyone that Jubal is completely in love with you, he doesn't hide that at all." Gina chuckled softly as she looked over at Jubal before back at Maggie "Can I ask why work took you away for five weeks?."

"Yeah it's getting a lot harder at work to hide our relationship especially after this time apart, although I haven't been back to work yet." Maggie smiled softly as she looked at Gina "I was on an undercover assignment, which is why I couldn't have contact with the kids. I had as much contact with Jubal as was safe."

"I still can't believe your work colleagues haven't figured it out, you two must be really different around each other at work. So that explains the injuries a little then, you know I really admire the work that you and Jubal do, keeping us safe and I know that we aren't always aware of what you guys do for this city."

"Even though our job can be dangerous at times we both really do love what we do, I honestly couldn't imagine doing anything else and I think Jubal feels the same way." Maggie was standing with her back now to Jubal so she didn't see him walking towards them until she felt his two arms around her waist from behind and his chin resting on her shoulder.

"I feel the same way about what?." Jubal asked as he kissed Maggie's cheek before resting his chin lightly on her shoulder again.

"Our job." Maggie turned her head a little to look at Jubal "Where is Abby?."

"I let her run off with strangers." He smirked laughing when Maggie elbowed him gently in the ribs "One of her friends is here she's right behind us sitting on a picnic blanket playing, the little girls mum is sitting with them. Apparently two days apart seems like weeks to them." Jubal chuckled softly as he held Maggie closer to him.

Gina couldn't help the smile as she watched Jubal and Maggie "He definitely talks and smiles a lot more when you are around. You two really do make an adorable couple." She smirked playfully.

Jubal raised an eyebrow playfully "You trying to say I'm rubbish company without Mags?… Actually don't answer that." He shook his head gently laughing as Maggie and Gina laughed as well.

"See how he doesn't object to being called adorable anymore?." Maggie teased playfully as she lifted her hand to his cheek gently.

"You know I was expecting that to be the first thing he gave off about, what's happened you Jubal, you gone soft on us?." Gina had to admit it was a lot of fun teasing Jubal, she really did enjoy getting time to hang out with him and Maggie, she was being honest when she said she had missed Maggie.

"Not gone soft, just learnt that when people are talking about me and Mags together that I'm apparently going to hear the word adorable a lot so I have decided it's not worth arguing." He smiled honestly as he snuggled Maggie a little tighter to his chest being careful of his ribs.

The three adults stood together watching the boys soccer game and they were definitely the three loudest adults there and that didn't bother any of them. Abby had come back over to stand with Jubal and Maggie to watch the game as she did enjoy watching her big brother play. When the game was over Jubal and Maggie took the kids for ice cream before dropping them off to Sam's house as they were going to spend the rest of the weekend with Sam and Alan.
