I hope you all enjoy this story. This is an alternate version/rewrite of my previous story, "Life of the Beast" I felt like that one was a bit too rush and honestly lost focus towards it. Be warned this one will be different but still follows the same focus of Trihexa being the main character. I hope this one is better. Be sure to leave a review!

(Prologue)

I am a Beast

I was born from the void, and grew in Limbo, as a living force of destruction. I was the first animal, the progenitor of both normal and mythical beasts. I went by many names: The Apocalyptic Beast, the Emperor Beast of the Apocalypse, the Beast of Revelation, Beast of the Sea, Anti-God, Beast of Revelation, but many knew me as 666 (Trihexa) or Trihexa for short. I was the antithesis to all life and creation, and the enemy of the Biblical God. To bring about the apocalypse, to destroy everything and return all the void. That was my purpose, the primal instinct that coursed through me. I felt no malice, no hate, no envy, for I was not fueled by petty emotions and desires, but by pure instincts. However, before I could carry out my task, I was sealed at the end of the world by Yahweh when the Biblical God discovered its existence. He could not kill me, for I was too powerful, and it knew that I was but an innocent being, despite my malicious purpose. I thrashed for who knows how long, letting out roars that would've unleashed natural disasters upon the world, but was restrained by the seals. Then when I finally went into slumber, I felt only darkness. When I next awoke the first thing I saw were the eyes of a human woman. In seconds I realized I had somehow been turned into a human infant!

I could not use my powers and was at the mercy of the woman who found me. Her name was Aika Minazuki and she decided to adopt me, naming me Keijiju. I can still recall her red eyes and golden blonde hair. As I got older, I learned more of where I was. Aika had found me in front of an old house once owned by Merlin Ambrosius, the Archmage, the one who founded the current magic system. Supposedly, that meant I had some relation with the magician in this new life. The mansion could teleport to anywhere and was currently located in a country called Japan.

Aika was a magician with average skills and was considered an outcast because she could only learn the basics of Western and Eastern Magic. No matter what she did, she could never move past being an intermediate. The only thing she excelled at was Technomancy, which was largely looked down as it required knowledge in science and engineering, as well as resources. Still, that did not deter her and instead Aika took it in stride and spent most of her time exploring, which is how she found Merlin's Mansion after tracking the magical energy it left every time it teleported. Her actual goal was to find the hundred keys that would unlock the door to Merlin's personal chamber, said to contain a vast amount of magical knowledge and other secrets. On a side note, she was an incredible cook, having made many of our meals on her own.

Our relationship was odd. Aika was nice to me, and I could tell she was being sincere, and yet I felt detached from her. From everything to be exact. I felt an emptiness in me, I could not describe it, but I found myself ruled more by instincts rather than emotion or desire. And yet as I grew, I began feeling new emotions stir within me the longer I spent time with her. In the past I was used to receiving feelings of fear, hate, disgust and sometimes worship. And yet, whether she knew who I was or not, this woman gave me nothing but love, compassion and kindness. She even taught me magic, noting that I had a strong aptitude for it, greater than any other Magician she knew of. Even when I did something wrong, she did not yell, did not strike me, just lightly scolded me.

All this was so new to me. Yet it felt good. I felt excitement when she would teach me something new. Joy when I was praised. And satisfaction when we did something together. For the first time since I came into existence, I experienced things, things that were terrible and wonderful too. I felt emotions, I felt…happy. If I were to be honest, I would trade away everything to keep this moment with me.

It was not meant to be.

When I was twelve, we were attacked. I do not know who they were, but they smelled of the supernatural. Aika fought hard to protect me, and then one of them managed to inflict a heavy wound to Aika, piercing her stomach. As I watched blood pour from the hole, something inside me snapped. I later on figured what had happened: My powers as the Apocalyptic Beast had resurface. I roared and then everything went black. When I awoke, I saw that we were back in the mansion, inside Aika's lab. She was lying in a pool of her blood, barely clinging to life. As I held her, Aika said that her only regret was that she could not see me, her 'son', grow up. I can still see her blood on my hands. I later learn that the sudden release of power had damaged my body severely, and that Aika had rushed to save me over her own life.

I swore on that day I would return to my roots as a destroyer, retrain and master my powers properly. I would study the magic within this mansion and learn everything I could. Afterwards I would scour the world to find the keys to unlock Merlin's chamber. At the same time, I would learn how I came to be reincarnated, regain my memories and hunt down the ones responsible for my mother's death. And when I find them, I would show them what happens when you anger a beast.

(Present Day, Kuoh Town)

The public park was bustling with activity as usual. Young children were running about without care, chattering, and playing about with their friends. Parents were nearby, mostly sitting on benches, talking with each other while keeping an eye on their kids. Some were engaging said activities with their own children too. It was a simple, yet peaceful and wonderful sensation as children were being their usual innocent selves.

One of the children, a boy around ten, was playing with his favorite ball. However, he had accidentally kicked it too hard, and the ball was heading straight towards the street, with the light about to change. "No!" He shouted as he tried to grab it. But the ball had entered the street and the cars began to move, blocking the boy's view of the ball.

Thinking it was lost forever, he started to cry when suddenly a figure approached him. Said person appeared in his early twenties and had fair skin. His short, black spiky hair and could see his red eyes. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt, dark grey jeans and plain black sneakers. Finally, he had a necklace that had small disk attached to it with a blue gem in the center. In his hand was the boy's ball. With a smile he knelt towards the child.

"Be more careful, okay." The man said gently as he gave the toy back to the ball.

The boy nodded as he held the object tightly. He gave the man a wide smile of appreciation. "Thank you, mister!" He said before running off to join his parents.

Keijiju watched the kid and smiled fondly. He took a moment to enjoy the energetic kids and the innocence they gave off before returning to the task he had. 'I think this is the longest I stayed in a single place.' Keijiju mused to himself as he walked around. He had come to this town because he sensed one of the keys were here. The presence was slightly muffled, indicating it had a powerful seal on it to conceal its power. That was also why the Devils were unaware of it, and at most they were just brush it off as some passing occurrence, which worked in his favor. The reason why he had not found it yet was because Keijiju had gotten sidetracked and dealt with some of the Stray Devils in the town or approaching it. He could care less what they did, unless it threaten the children.

His thoughts were broken when he felt the several pulses of energy, one demonic and the other holy. The holy energy felt corrupted, meaning that the person was a Fallen Angel, and the other was a rather weak Devil. A scream of pain soon followed by one of shock and concern. It was near his position and yet none of the humans seemed to have noticed. Keijiju figured that the Fallen Angel put a barrier around the place to remain hidden from the humans. Curious as to why Devils and Fallen Angels would be fighting in broad daylight, Keijiju headed over while making himself invisible so they would not see nor sense him. He landed on top of a tree branch and watched the spectacle.

Floating above a fountain was a black winged female Fallen Angel. She was clad in a revealing outfit that looked like leather straps, spiked shoulder pads and high heel boots that only covered the necessary parts. In her hand was what Keijiju recognized as a spear of light, the basic weapon of Angels and Fallen Angels. Though it had a red-like color. The look on her face was one of arrogance and pride, like everyone else was beneath her. She had an evil smirk on her face as she stared down at her down opponent.

Said person was kneeling on the ground opposite of her. It was a boy, who could not be no more than 16 or 17. He had brown hair and wore a school uniform. Keijiju summarized that this person was the Devil from whom he sensed the weak demonic energy from. The young boy also had blood coming from his mouth, and even more blood coming out of a hole in his chest. Most likely the Fallen Angel had pierced his body with one of her light spears.

Beside him was a third person there. It was a girl around the boy's age, with long blonde hair wearing a nun habit. She ran towards the boy's side and began healing the wound in his chest. As she did the Fallen Angel kept talking in an arrogant tone towards the wounded Devil and nun. Extending his enhanced hearing, Keijiju managed to hear the next several words as the nun showed a look of defeat.

"…I understand." The nun said weakly as she began making her way towards the fallen.

"Asia, no!" The brown-haired boy cried in angst. He tried to reach out to her, only to have Asia silently brush his hand aside as she walked away from him.

"Issei…" Asia began as she stared at said boy with a side smile. "Today was a lot of fun. Thank you, for everything."

"ASIA!" Issei howled, the young devil watched in despair as the Fallen Angel's black wings wrapped around Asia and the two disappeared.

Keijiju ignored the howls of despair and anger released from the devil. The Apocalyptic Beast did not care what happened to the nun or what the Fallen Angel was planning. But from the latter, he could make out his own scent, though weak. Meaning she had been in the same location where the key was, most likely did not even know it was there. So, with that in mind, Keijiju prepared to track down the Fallen Angel.

(That Night)

Keijiju was moving through the path at a slow pace. He moved without a care in the world, confident that nothing could go wrong. His trek was stopped though as three figures appeared from the sky before him.

"Well, what do we have here?" An arrogant voice asked.

Raising his head, Keijiju saw three different Fallen Angels that had appeared before him. The one who spoke right now was a young blonde girl, wearing a Gothic Lolita dress. Her hands were on her hips as she looked down cockily at Keijiju. Besides her were two more fallen; one was another female, though older and well-endowed. She had long blue hair and wore a very revealing dress. The third was the only male and he appeared to be middle age, had black hair and wore a blue fedora and hat.

"One of those devils? I can't tell what's more surprising: that you were foolish enough to come, or foolish enough to come alone." The blonde said with a sneer.

"The power he is releasing is not of a Devil, but it is strong." The only male said as he stared at Keijiju, trying to gauze his level, before smirking. "Heh, this could actually be a fun fight."

"Whatever, let's just kill him and be done with it." The other female said with a huff. She then summoned a spear of light, with the other two following.

Keijiju looked at them for a moment before continuing forward towards the church. The three Fallen Angels stumbled in midair at the man's casual dismissal of them. He did not even look back at them as he walked pass the three.

"You bastard! How dare you ignore us!" The blonde, Mittlet, shouted in anger. When Keijiju gave no response, only continue walking, she snapped and threw her spear straight towards Keijiju's back. But just as the spear was about to hit, it struck his aura, and its form began to break before completely dispersing into nothing. Mittlet could only gap while Keijiju kept walking as if nothing happened.

"What just happened?" Kalawarner, the taller female, demanded. Instead, she and Dohnaseek, the male fallen angel, formed their own spears and threw them at Keijiju. Again, the Apocalyptic Beast simply disrupted the flow of energy in the spears and in an instant the two spears dispersed into light particles.

The Fallen Angels were speechless, unable to come up with some logical explanation of how this person, whom they deemed inferior to themselves, was able to negate their attacks. But they had little time to think on it as Keijiju suddenly disappeared from the ground. Surprised, the three fallen looked around wildly for some sign of the cloaked person.

"I was feeling rather merciful and decided not to kill you three. Did not see you worth the time." Keijiju said from his position in the air behind three.

The fallen angels spun around with their eyes wide as they looked at Keijiju floating in the air beside them. Before they could react, Keijiju raised up his right index finger. Dark energy began to form around the fingertip. "But you guys are just way too annoying."

The fallen angels did not even get the chance to scream as Keijiju fired a beam of darkness. The darkness consumed their bodies completely and in a matter of seconds, annihilated them, leaving nothing left. With that done, Keijiju levitated in front of the church's old wooden door. Without wasting time Keijiju placed his left hand on the door. In an instant, the wooden door disintegrated, turning into dust, allowing Keijiju to walk right on in. The moment he stepped in a loud and annoying voice spoke.

"Hey! Haven't ya ever heard of knocking before, ya fucker?" Someone asked.

The inside of the church was dark, lightened only by the light coming from the moon outside. But that meant little to Keijiju, for his enhanced vision allowed him to see through the dark easily. It helped him find the source of the voice. Said source was a young male with white hair, red eyes and wore what appeared to be priest clothing. In his left hand, the man held a pistol. And in the right, was a light sword. Despite wearing priest clothing, it did not take a genius to figure out that this young man was insane. Obviously, he was a rogue exorcist, which Keijiju confirmed after reading the Freed's, the man's name, mind.

Just like with the fallen angels, Keijiju ignored the man's ranting as he looked around the abandoned church. Eventually, he managed to lock onto key's presence. It was coming from underneath the altar, most likely a hidden passage. Without missing a beat Keijiju began walking towards the altar.

"Are you ignoring me shitty devil?!" Freed demanded as the Apocalyptic Beast continued forward, heading towards the rogue exorcist at the same time. Still not getting a response, Freed prepared to cut Keijiju down, a psychotic grin on his face. "Well, if ya an't going to answer me, then I'll cut you down limb by limb and have you scream for-"

Whatever Freed was going to say next was cut off when Keijiju, without sparing him a glance, smacked Freed to the side with a simple flick of his wrist. The following shockwave sent Freed flying backwards, crashing into the wall and then buried underneath some rubble. Once that was done Keijiju destroyed the altar, revealing a hidden stairway. Keijiju made his way down the stairs before eventually ending up in a large underground room. It was filled with rogue exorcists and at the other end was what appeared to be a sacrificial altar. A large cross was on it, and beside it was the same skimpy clad Fallen Angel, while tied to the cross, was an unconscious Asia.

"Welcome little-" the Fallen Angel began. Her eyes were closed at the time, so she did not see who it really was until she opened them. "Who are you?" She demanded, having expected those devils to come.

"You need not know why I'm here. Just leave and let me get what I seek." Keijiju said, not responding to the Fallen Angel's question.

"Hmph, don't you dare speak to me in such a tone, inferior creature." The fallen commented in a smug tone. "No matter. I don't know how you got past my comrades or Freed, but you're too late. I already have my prize." She said, shrugging Keijiju off as if he was a fly. A green glow could be seen on her hands and revealed a pair of rings, one on each pointer finger. Keijiju recognized it as Twilight Healing, a Sacred Gear created by the Biblical God. That also meant that the girl tied to the cross was also dead. However, that did not concern Keijiju.

Raising his hand, Keijiju telekinetically lifted the altar from the ground, cross and all, startling the Fallen Angel and the rogue Exorcists. Showing some respect to the dead girl, Keijiju carefully placed the altar to the side before disappearing from his spot. He then reappeared where the altar once was, starling them yet again. Raising his hand forward, Keijiju released a small burst of energy. The shockwave destroyed the ground easily. When the dust cleared it revealed a hollow spot in the ground. And in that spot was a small case with a seal around it. "That makes fifty…" Keijiju whispered so no one heard him.

Raynare, having flown off the altar when it started to move. She glared at the stranger, and yet at the same time was curious of the object he picked up. She had never seen it in the church since she got here. But she could tell that whatever it was holding was powerful if it had a high-level seal on it. "Alright. Who the hell are you and what is that object?" She demanded as if she were in control.

Keijiju said nothing. Instead, he looked up and glared at her, his red eyes glowing viciously. All the exorcists shivered and subconsciously took a step back. Even the fallen could not help but feel a bit of fear, dread creeping up her spine. Somehow, she managed to keep in conceal with her usual air of superiority.

"Don't think you can intimidate me human." She retorted. "Kill him." She ordered with a wave of her hand.

"Yes Raynare-sama!" All the rogue exorcists cried in unison. As one they all pulled out their weapons and the room was lightening up like a Christmas tree. Light swords were in the hands of every rogue exorcists, with a few carrying pistols, loaded with bullets of light. As one they all charged towards Keijiju, who did not seem the least bit concerned.

As fast as lightning, Keijiju swiped his arms outwards to the side. A flash of black could be seen as he did so, but the exorcists had no time to react. A second after that, the heads of the nearby exorcists flew off from their bodies, followed by sprays of blood. This made the others pause as they watched their now headless comrades' bodies hit the floor. Keijiju had no weapon in his hand, but if you followed its trajectory, you could see that the ceiling had a slash-like mark on it, as if it were cut by a sword.

"W-what the hell?" Raynare exclaimed, startled by this turn of events.

Not wasting any time, Keijiju raised his hands. A magic circle appeared and shot out a black tornado. The vortex swirled across the room. Anyone who got too close was sucked up and ripped into pieces. The exorcists screamed as the tried to escape. It was all for naught as the tornado seemed to chase after them. "W-what in the Grigori's name is this?!" Raynare shouted, fear beginning to consume her. She quickly formed a spear of light and with impressive accuracy, threw it at Keijiju. But just like with her colleagues, the spear was nullified before it could hit.

But just as the spear was going to make contact, Keijiju's body began to shift. It soon transformed into a large mass of thick, black, smoke. The spear hit the smoke but was quickly swallowed by the darkness. Everyone looked up in a mixture of awe and horror as the black smoke began to move, red glowing dots appearing at what looked like a giant serpent's body but had the head of a lion. Before any of them could react, the smoke began to spread out, consuming every exorcist in its path, sparing Raynare for the finale.

Raynare could only stare in horror as the cyclone consumed her followers. Once it sucked them in, they were shredded and only large qualities of blood were spit out, painting the ground and walls. In seconds, her small army was wiped out and she knew she would be next. True enough, the tornado was heading towards her rapidly. She tried to flee but still got caught as the blades of wind slashes her skin and outfit multiple times. Raynare screamed in pain as she landed on the floor with a loud thud. It was only thanks to activating Twilight Healing that she was able to heal most of the wounds before they got worse. As the wind finally died down, leaving nothing but blood to show that those humans had even existed. Keijiju had remained where he was, completely unaffected by the slaughter he had caused. In addition, the altar was also unharmed, including Asia.

Keijiju was about to leave when three newcomers appeared. One of them was that boy from before, while another was another boy with blonde hair and appeared to be around the same age as the first one. The third person was a petite girl with white hair and yellow eyes, looking younger than the males. They all wore the same uniform, indicating that they were all from the same school. What was interesting was that while all three of them had demonic energy, the girl also had the aura of an animal. 'A Youkai perhaps?' Keijiju thought with mild interest.

The brunette was looking around frantically. When his eyes locked onto Asia's still form, Issei screamed, "ASIA!" And rushed to get her down.

Meanwhile the blonde boy, Kiba, and the girl, Koneko, were looking at the scene before them. Large puddles and splatches of blood covered the floor, walls and even the ceiling. The only two people still alive were the Fallen Angel and this unknown person. Said person was holding an object while the Fallen Angel was trying to heal herself with Twilight Healing. Immediately Kiba appeared by her side, holding a European Shortsword at her throat. "Do not move, unless you wish for me to finish you off." Kiba said with a glare. True they were going to kill her anyway, but Rias Gremory had ordered him to let Issei decide her fate.

Seeing how everything was done and he got what he need Keijiju prepared to leave. "Wait! I can't you leave either. Rias-sama will have questions for you." Kiba said as he looked at Keijiju.

Said person gave the boy a bored glance. Then he raised his right hand and flicked his pointer finger. Kiba had no idea what happened when an invisible blade flew just a few inches from him. It struck the wall behind him and leaving a deep gash in the stone. Koneko, Kiba and Issei all gaped at the size of the gash, with Raynare having already lost consciousness from her wounds.

"Please, you couldn't keep me here even if there were a thousand of you." Keijiju said before teleporting away, leaving three confused Devils.

And there we go! Hoped you all like this chapter. The second chapter is a profile of Keijiju/Trihexa and his abilities.
