This is a rework of a now-deleted previous unfinished story; Ninjago: Positive and Negative. This version of my story is also dedicated to Cole's English Voice Actor: Kirby Morrow (who passed on November 18, 2020). I usually have a schedule of when I post chapters but since it seems that I need to be in a "Ninjago mood" to work on this story the chapters are gonna go up whenever. I'll try to keep a week in between at best.

Chapter One: The Mysterious Dragon
"Ninjago is a Realm that has seen many ups and many downs. And it all began when The First Spinjitzu Master, my grandfather, came from The First Realm. He was a man of much mystery since both sides of heritage, Oni and Dragon, despised one another. The conflict between the two warring sides followed into Ninjago when the climactic "Final Battle" between Good and Evil took place in Ninjago City. And yet, evil things continue to happen. Was that not the Final Battle? Or are there parts of the story not being told?" - Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon
The Ninja retreated to the Monastery, their last line of defense as the army of Oni marched up the winding stone steps. These beings of Destruction were dead set on their mission; the destruction of the Golden Seal and what lay within it. The Golden Seal, a small glass ball, had been given to the Ninja by Firstborn, the Mother of Dragons, after the defeat of Emperor Garmadon.
Garmadon, having been freed from his cell in order to assist the Ninja in defeating the Oni, stated that the Oni was after the Golden Seal; but the Ninja remained unsure of the truth of his statement. Even though they felt that the small ball must have been important if it was in the possession of Firstborn. The Ninja did their best to stop the Oni, but none of their previous tactics worked. Their Spinjitzu? Nope. Their Elemental Powers? Not even a scratch.
They stood in the courtyard of the Monastery, their home. Panic slowly started to set as the lingering thoughts crept in: Is this it? Is this when Ninjago finally falls? Lloyd looked to his father; is he going to backstab them when the doors fell? The part of him that was resurrected by Harumi was Oni. But he had helped them in trying to stop the Oni; he even warned Lloyd about their coming. Was there a good part of his father in there under all the Oni blood?
Lloyd then looked to his friends, his family. It was then that an idea came. "Tornado of Creation!" he shouted just as the centuries-old doors burst off their hinges and the Oni began pilling in. The others didn't take a second to think. Together they shouted aloud their Element and spun, forming their Spinjitzu tornados. The seven Elemental tornados came together, forming the massive Tornado of Creation, but it was unstable. The Oni, startled by the attack, backed up. But after seeing the instability, they continued their march forward.
Garmadon stood there, gazing at the mass of Spinjitzu power before him. His Oni blood told him to stay put, let them fall. But another part of him, the part that loved his son pushed aside those dark thoughts. "Destruction," his deep voice said quietly. Garmadon began to spin, his purple tornado forming. He joined the others, stabilizing the Tornado of Creation.
The power of the tornado began to pull in the Oni. The tornado started glowing; the more it spun the brighter the glow. "Veta!" the Oni screamed as they tried to back away from the light. The light grew brighter and brighter until all within a two-mile radius was within it. And then the light faded, revealing no Oni. They were gone.
"Did...did we do it?" Kai asked, skeptical of the silence.
"My sensors show no Oni," Zane said as he continued scanning, "They are no longer here."
"We won?!" Jay celebrated. The other Ninja joined in, cheering and jumping for joy.
Wu, while holding the Golden Seal, stood smiling. Ninjago was safe once again. But then he noticed the ball starting to glow. He looked at it, puzzled by the glow. It was as if it was trying to tell him something. Wu then intuitively looked up and scanned the courtyard. "Where is Lloyd?!"
"Here," the Green Ninja called out. The force of the Tornado of Creation blew him back and into the wall that held the painted murals. Feeling that his back was gonna kill him tomorrow, Lloyd pushed off the debris that laid on top of him. The other Ninja rushed over to assist him.
"That was good quick thinking Lloyd," Kai complimented as he helped his friend to his feet.
Suddenly the Golden Seal started to glow more and more; taking the Ninja by surprise. The glass ball cracked until both the glass and the glow exploded. The light faded, and there stood a large, yellowish-white dragon. The dragon slowly opened its eyes as it cooed and looked at the Ninja.
"Whoa!" Kai and the others watched as the dragon rose to its feet. Its legs wobbled a bit, showing a lack of strength from the no use.
The dragon glanced around, then its ears perked up once its eyes fell on Lloyd. The dragon leaped forward with sudden strength, startling the Ninja. Lloyd jumped back, his back now touching the outer wall of the Monastery. The dragon now stood directly in front of him. "Lloyd!" Jay cried out to his friend.
Lloyd stood still, his breath heavy. He watched as the dragon stared at him intently, purring as if it was curious. Lloyd settled his racing heart and it was then that he noticed; his reflection in the dragon's eyes. It was dark and misty with no features to be seen. The mist that swirled around Lloyd was green in color, but there was another color-yellow? Lloyd couldn't tell; it was too faded. The Green Ninja pulled himself from the odd reflection and looked back at the dragon. He slowly reached out and placed a hand on the dragon's snout. The dragon's pupil, which was slit, widened with docile. Lloyd gave a friendly smile; to show that he was a friend. The dragon backed away from Lloyd a bit and glanced around; seeming confused about where it was and what was going on.
"Are you okay?" Kai asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Lloyd kept his eyes on the dragon, "I think it was just scared."
"None of the dragons in the First Realm look anything like this one," Cole noted the almost slim, serpentine-like body of the dragon and the long head and snout. Something about its appearance was familiar to Lloyd, but he couldn't place it.
"I wonder why it was in that crystal?" Nya asked while also noticing the slight glow the dragon's body had.
"Garmadon is gone!" Zane alerted the others.
The others quickly looked around the courtyard and indeed he was gone.
"Ah, that's just great!" Kai groaned, "And after all we did to lock him up beforehand!"
Lloyd sighed. He wanted to love his father, but he wasn't sure if the man Harumi brought back was his real father or just the dark side of him. The dragon turned its head back to Lloyd, noticing the mist around him slightly turn a dark, dark blue. It cooed and gently nuzzled him. Lloyd gave a weak smile and accepted the comfort by hugging the snout.
"Ns sa de."
With a quick gasp, Lloyd broke from the hug and looked up at the dragon. The others, having heard the voice too, turned to the dragon. "D-Did that just come from the dragon?" Cole questioned.
The dragon didn't break its gaze with Lloyd. "Ns sa de," it repeated.
"A talking dragon!" Jay could barely contain his excitement, "Awesome!"
"I have never heard of the language it just spoke," Zane confirmed after running it through his program.
Wu stroked his bread, "Neither have I, in all my years."
"Whoa, then that means this dragon is super old!" Kai held back a chuckle, "I mean...if you've never heard of it; then it has to be old! Right?" Nobody agreed; not wanting to include themselves in Kai's poor joke.
Lloyd looked over the dragon, something about its appearance was familiar to him. He just couldn't place it.
Kai walked up to the dragon. "My name is Kai," he introduced.
The dragon tilted its head, "ye ta Kai."
Kai smiled, "Hey, that's right!"
The other Ninja introduced themselves and the dragon repeated their names. The dragon also took an interest in Zane and P.I.X.A.L; obviously having never seen anything like them before.
Lloyd placed a hand on the dragon's side, "And I am Lloyd," he said with a smile.
The dragon turned to look at him and cocked its head again," ...Lord."
"What? No, no. Lloyd," Lloyd clarified.
"Lord."
The other Ninja erupted into laughter. Lloyd glared at them. "Ll-o-yd," he said slowly.
"L...," The dragon cocked its head to the other side, "Lord?"
Lloyd sighed and hung his head as the others continued to laugh. The glow of the dragon's body lit up slightly at the sound of the Ninja's laughter; although it didn't understand why they were suddenly happy. The dragon turned its attention to Wu, who was quietly chuckling to himself. The dragon stepped over to him. Wu ceased his chuckling and looked at the towering dragon, who purred slightly. Wu placed a hand on the dragon's snout when it lowered its head. The dragon's purrs grew louder as its tail wagged. "I feel like I've seen you somewhere," Wu said to himself, hoping the memory would come back in that moment. The dragon purred again.
The sun slowly started setting over the horizon. "We should check on the people in Ninjago City," Zane suggested.
"What about the big guy?" Kai motioned to the dragon.
"Let's try and get in through the hanger below," Wu suggested, "So it won't be in the cold at night."
It took a bit to persuade the dragon to go over the Monastery outer walls and down the cliffside to the large hangar door that led into their Secret Ninja Headquarters-which wasn't really that secret. The Ninja quickly rushed into the Monastery and down to the HQ. The dragon hung around the hanger door, refusing to step inside. Its head cocking to the side as a whimper of confusion escaped its throat.
"Maybe all the lights and vehicles scare it?" Zane assumed.
Nya walked over to the dragon. "It's okay," she patted the dragon, "This stuff won't hurt you." She stepped back a few feet to give the dragon space to climb in. The dragon eyed Nya, more specifically where she walked. It slowly placed a paw where Nya had stood but quickly recoiled as if the cold steel floor was foreign to it. It then slowly placed its paw back down, then its eyes widened with amazement and it placed another paw inside-in another spot Nya had walked on. The Ninja looked at each other, confused by this action. The dragon climbed fully inside; having taken the same path Nya had walked. The dragon held still, unsure of where to move. It then lowered its head and sniffed the floor.
"It's definitely gonna take a while to get used to being down here," Cole stated the obvious.
Lloyd watched the dragon as it sniffed around, then a realization struck. "I think it sees differently than us," Lloyd told the others.
"What makes you think that?" Jay asked.
"Nya, look at your reflection in its eyes," Lloyd suggested.
Nya looked carefully at her reflection in the dragon's eyes, who had stopped sniffing and now looked up at her. "You might be right," Nya stared at the light blue misty appearance of herself in the reflection, "I've got this weird blue mist around me. And I don't see the floor….it looks like we're standing on nothing."
"It can't see the floor?" Kai questioned, "What kind of sight is that?"
Zane walked over and looked at his reflection; it was different from the others. His body, instead of being a dark silhouette like his friends, was nothing but electricity. The mist around him was white as snow. "I've never seen a Mirrored Reflection like this?" Zane studied his, "But I do not think they're supposed to work like this."
"Well, she's not from this realm," Kai thought out loud, "Maybe its eyes work differently?"
"Wait, don't you think that this dragon might be an Elemental Dragon?" Jay suggested, "It was Firstborn who gave it to us."
The dragon perked up," Firstborn? Ty de nms uy?"
"Looks like you're right for once Jay," Cole met the dragon's gaze, "It knows who Firstborn is."
"The Bounty is ready guys," P.I.X.A.L announced.
"Alright, stay," Kai ordered the dragon, "We'll be right back, okay?"
The dragon cocked its head, "Lsje ef fjda."
"Uh…" Kai looked to the others who only shrugged, "s-sure. When we get back." The Ninja raced to The Bounty, leaving a shocked dragon by the hanger door. To the dragon, it saw nothing but electricity running in certain parts of The Bounty. Again, it looked as if the Ninja were standing on nothing.
"I will stay here with our new guest," Wu glanced at the dragon, "to...make sure it doesn't hurt itself."
The engines of The Bounty roared to life, slightly startling the dragon. It watched as The Bounty pushed forward and out of the hanger. Not long after that, they were gone, the speed of that old boat was amazing. The dragon cried out, began to follow, then stopped. Still unsure about the floor it was standing on; the dragon looked around. "You need to stay here, "Wu told the dragon. The dragon looked down at Wu, who smiled, then back to where The Bounty last was. Then it roared, startling Wu. Taking two large bouncing steps, the dragon jumped and spread out it's wings. The dragon quickly soared in the direction the Ninja went, leaving Wu behind. He sighed, "Oh boy. I can only imagine the adventures and troubles we'll get into with this dragon."
