Ok so I haven't been able to put a line between sections so I'm just putting lines. Thanks for reading this! I'll have more soon!
I finish setting up my side of the dormroom when my roommate, a girl named Annabeth, comes in looking tired. Forgive me for any mistakes as this took place a couple months ago and a lot has happened since then.
Anyway, Annabeth looks around at what I've put up.
"Nice." She sets her backpack down on her bed and unloads a Ziplock of pink jello, duck tape, and mountain dew. I find it odd but I don't think anything of it because I've definitely seen and heard of weirder on campus, like a guy who supposedly broke into someone's car for a snickers bar and left a note.
"Thanks." I continue making my plan for the semester as Annabeth rolls out and sticks freaking blueprints onto the walls. They range from basic things like a car and helicopter to ships, submarines, some massive and impressive buildings and more. I decide not to stare and concentrate on my syllabus.
"I hope you don't mind my designs that are on your side of the room a little." Annabeth admires her blueprints.
"Not at all. Did you really design those?"
"Most. A couple of my siblings and friends did the others." Annabeth flops down on her bed and pulls out a black laptop with a delta symbol on the front. She types away before closing it and going to the bathroom.
I finish my planning and decide to find where my classes are, as Annabeth comes out.
"You want to walk with me? I'm gonna look for my classes."
"No thanks." Annabeth pulls a bag of chips from her backpack and rips it open, "I have to eat before studying."
I come back to my dorm and find Annabeth muttering.
"Σκατα!" She mutters.
"You ok?"
"Oh hi, yeah I'm just looking for something. I must have left it in California. ADHD, am I right?" Annabeth smiles.
"Yeah. I got diagnosed when I would doodle random things and rock my chair. What about you?"
"I never got an "official" diagnoses, but most of my family has it." Annabeth puts air quotes on the word official.
A couple weeks go by uneventfully until one day in geography class.
The professor was talking about volcanoes and how a couple years ago Mount Saint Helens exploded.
"The scientists had no idea that this was coming so it came as a shock to all of us when it blew. Apparently the pressure built up very fast." The professor goes on to talk about underground vents and pressure valves.
After class Annebeth looks at the professor.
"The volcano erupted. That's definitely what happened. For sure" Then she walked out to her next class.
That's what really threw me off. But I didn't mind a weird roommate so long as she wasn't loud.
I caught up to Annabeth.
"What did you mean back there?"
"Nothing." Annabeth shrugs me off and I'm left to hopefully make it to class on time.
A few days later and I came to my dorm to find Annabeth stuffing things into her backpack.
"Gong somewhere?" I was a little skeptical of her by now as I'd never seen her with a different outfit. It was always a plain orange shirt and jeans. Sometimes the shirt would have writing, but I never caught what it said.
"Mmm." Annabeth gave a preoccupied noise. I went to the bathroom to wash my face and when I came back out she was gone.
I asked around if anyone had seen her when she didn't come back after two days.
"She said she had a family emergency." Our history professor told me. I even asked her professors but they all said the same thing, she had a family emergency. I didn't really believe them for some reason but I had tests coming up so I didn't dwell on it for long.
