After a brutal fight with Gorilla grodd and injustice gang the league was returning to their base of operations. Batman had taken a kryptonite bullet aimed for superman and saved his life. The founders Superman ,Wonder woman ,Flash ,Black canary Martian manhunter and green lantern looked at batman's form lying at infirmary's table pensively.
"We need to take off his mask. His full faced mask while may help him to breathe is now catching up the perspiration. He needs air" Jo'nn informed the founders.
The founders were debating amongst themselves that would it be wise to expose batman's secret identity that he so carefully maintained.
"Remove his mask Jo'nn while batman maybe angry with us. We just cannot let him die" Flash replied.
"You just want to see who is under the mask Wally don't you?" John asked.
"Oh! come on lantern. Don't tell me you don't want to see who is under that Kevlar lined uniform " Flash shot back.
"It is not the time for curiosity flash we need to save our teammate's life. We are only doing it out of necessity nothing more" superman said.
"He is cunning and resourceful as Odysseus well known in martial art as Achilles and his will is stronger than hector himself. It would be a shame if a warrior like him go to waste because of just petty squabbling. We must remove his mask now"Diana replied back.
Black canary and hawk girl nodded their heads in assent. As both their eyes remained glued to the prone figure of bat.
"Jo'nn " superman said
Jo'nn carefully removed batman's full faced mask ignoring the high voltage electricity pumping through his body then suddenly batman moved with a flick of his wrist he hoisted the Martian and sent him over to the wall while covering his face with his cape. The league stood gaping at this sight. Superman came and laid a arm on batman's shoulder to calm him down. It worked as batman slowly slid away his cape from his face to see the league standing before him. A collective gasp was heard from the league when they saw his face. It was the most gorgeous face they had ever seen in their lives. He had a strong jaw accentuated by a beautiful roman nose his soft tan skin had light sheen of sweat over it. His short lustrous dark hair was cascading softly. His intense blue eyes were burning through them.
"Where is my mask Kent?" Batman growled in his usual gravelly tone.
Superman was surprised for a moment that batman knew his secret identity. He grabbed the mask from the table and handed it to batman. Batman quietly slipped the mask on his face and stormed out of watchtower infirmary without a glance back. Jo'nn jo'nnz picked himself off the table as the Gotham vigilante went back to his city.
"How did he heal from a bullet like that? There is no way for a human physiology to heal that fast." Jo'nn said.
"We don't know enough about him. He maybe a teammate but he keeps everyone at arm's length" green lantern replied.
"Except for the fact that he is probably the most handsome man we have ever seen" Dinah smiled dreamily.
"Oh! man he is already stealing all the chicks" Flash groaned
Everyone started laughing at flash antics except Diana. She was deep in thought as she felt an arm on her shoulder.
"You ok di?" asked superman concern swimming in his black eyes.
"Yes I am ok kal" Diana replied confidently.
Diana's pov
Diana was stunned when she saw his face. She was sure that she would never see his face ever again. No matter how much she wanted to. It has been six months since Diana came to man's world she had searched for him in the entire internet. Tried to find a single evidence which will probably lead to him but to no avail. And now she has that she has seen his face. She is not sure what to do.
Flashback two years ago
Hippolyta's palace
The amazons were celebrating their victory as they had defeated the joint forces of the league of shadows ,Ares and hades. Diana was frustrated as she was denied from going into battle. She had heard rumours that an outside man had helped them. And she had a deep curiosity about meeting him. Hippolyta cleared her throat for silence.
"Today we gather here to celebrate our victory as we have forced our sword on our enemy's throat" hippolyta said a loud cheering was heard from the group of amazons.
"We also welcome the men who helped us as well the athena's champion" hippolyta announced as the great palace door opened up revealing the face of five teenagers. Three boys and two girls the boys were handsome looking their eyes revealing curiosity and obviously uncomfortable in their Greek togas while the girls were had intellectual air about them as they looked at amazons warily they approached the table and sat down. Following them was a tall well built muscular man his face was the most handsome face the amazons have seen in their lives. The man ignored the lustful stares from the amazons and sat at the table between the amazons queen and princess. Diana was blushing furiously as he sat down beside her.
"Let the feast commence" hippolyta announced.
As everyone started eating their meals small talk continued over the table.
"What is your name? If I may ask" Diana asked the man.
The man smiled at her 'hera' his smile is so beautiful Diana thought.
"My name is Bruce Wayne princess" the man replied in his deep baritone which sent pleasurable tingles up her spine.
"Are they your children?" asked Diana as she pointed at the group of teens chatting within themselves.
"Yes. But they are adopted"Bruce replied while eating his food.
"So tell me Bruce Wayne what do you do in man's world?" Hippolyta asked
"Well for starters I own a billion dollar multinational company. Which helps me in my crusade against crime. My oldest son dick there runs the company with Lucius while I handle all the executive decisions pertaining my company" Bruce answered them nonchalantly.
"Is the man's world full of suffering and debauchery as the amazon's know"Diana asked Bruce.
"Man's world while not a paradise like this island is improving there is darkness and suffering there but there are men who are willing to take a stand against it" Bruce replied.
"Men like you?" Diana asked
"While I will not call myself as a hero. I do try my best to help the people if I can" Bruce said as sincerity and pain was evident in his eyes.
The banquet was over. The guests left the island. Diana while was conflicted her Amazonian teachings had always taught her that men were cruel but the deep pain in his intense icy cold blue eyes were enough for her to convince that not all men were evil as they previously thought.
End flashback After meeting Bruce in palace try as she might she never forgot about him. His beautiful face ,his smile ,the pain in his eyes as they talked about patriarch world were all engraved her memory. It made her leave her island and form justice league. After coming to man's world she searched for him but she never found him. He always tormented her in her dreams. And now she can find that who is Bruce wayne.
