There's a new girl at school, and… she's something of a celebrity. Did you ever hear of the nightclub owner Lucifer Morningstar from Los Angeles? Apparently he has a daughter named Jade. Jade… is Jade is something else. It's like she is from another planet. God, I think she might even give Rosalie or you run for your money. Jade is pretty popular at school, and for some reason she wants to hang out with me of all people. She's great. I think you and the others would like her.

I went over to Jade's house today. I've slowly been coming out of my "funk'' as dad calls it. Do you know that old Queen Anne house that's down the road from your house? Jade and her family live there. Her dad Lucifer is… something else. Who names their son Lucifer? He wasn't there today. He had business with his bar or something, or her mom. Her mom is a detective in Seattle. It was just us, and her step-sister Beatrice, but will fully insist you call her Trixie. She reminds me of when I was younger. It's a little scary. Hanging with Jade makes me almost forget about Edward… that isn't to say I still don't love him. I do, with my whole heart. But Jade brings something new to my life, she's exciting.

I introduced Jade to Jacob this morning. I think they'll get along. Jacob really seemed taken by the fact that she likes to ride bikes too. I've never really been into it, but if it means a chance to see Edward, doing something stupid like this then I'll do it. Though part of me is curious about doing it, I mean really doing it for fun. Riding along with Jade and Jake. They talked about how he would fix up the bikes, even said she could come by anytime so he could show her the ropes. Sometimes I feel like I'm like a third wheel when they're around each other, it's like Jake and Jade were meant to be. Even their names sound good together. Jade and Jake. Jack and Jade. Jade Morningstar and Jacob Black. Do I sound jealous? I hope I don't sound jealous.

Is it weird that Jake is getting hot, I mean really hot? He's been changing over the past few weeks. He lifted one of the bikes out of the truck like it was nothing. Sometimes I'll take a peek when he uses his shirt to wipe off the sweat from his face… I'm sure you wanted that image in your head…. I've been noticing the same thing with Jade too, she is changing too. She's been complaining of some kind of back pain. Jade had been skipping out of the bike sessions staying home. I'm getting worried about her. I asked her step-mom Chole about, you know the detective in Seattle, about it. She said that sometimes Jade would have back problems sometimes, with her sciatic nerve in her back from an accident when she was younger. But… Oh God Alice. I heard her screaming. Her scream over the phone calling for her father. Alice, I'm scared.
