"I can feel your presence, Jackson," Nico monotoned, not bothering to turn to the green-eyed boy skipping behind him. "Are you following me?"
"Would you have a problem with that? I could follow you to your bed," Percy teased with his endearing light New Yorker accent. Nico's cheeks flushed.
Nico gulped before he spoke, "Stalking is against the law, I could send you to jail. Not to mention firing you." To see his subordinate's reaction, he turned and stopped walking.
For a second Jackson looked panicked, but he quickly brushed it off, "Well, sorry to bruise your ego, but I wasn't following you. I was merely-"
"Oh, such a big word, Jackson. Congratulations! Where did you learn it?" Nico poked fun at his employee, and future boyfriend, as Nico liked to think. Of course, he'd never admit that out loud though.
Percy blushed, and ignored the Italian store manager. He cleared his throat, "As I was saying, I was merely collecting some things for an online shopper."
Nico rolled his eyes, turned back around, and continued walking. "Whatever Jackson, just get back to your job."
"You aren't a gallow, but are you sure you don't want me to hang around," Percy attempted flirting.
"Jackson. That is the absolute worst pick-up line. And no, you can't continue stalking me, I have a meeting with Hades and the rest of the team," Nico said.
Percy pouted, Nico just wanted to kiss that look right off his face. "But Niiiiiiccoooooooooooooooo, you told me you didn't like Hades."
Nico whipped around, obviously taking Jackson by surprise. Nico took Jackson's face in his hands, "Yes, but you can't say that out loud." Percy was blushing profoundly, but nevertheless nodded in submission. Nico reluctantly let go of Jackson's beautiful face, thoughts of kissing that pair of plump lips entering his mind.
This time, when Nico walked off, Percy stayed put, in shock. After a few minutes of standing there mindlessly, his best friend tapped him on the shoulder. Percy jumped then turned to the blonde.
"Soooooo, made any progress on him?" Annabeth said slyly.
"Nada," Percy said glumly.
Trying to get her black-haired, ocean-obsessed, bisexual mess of a best friend's hopes up, Annabeth said, "Perk up, he definitely likes you, I saw the way he blushed. Plus, Piper said you guys were destined to be together. Whatever opinions she has about love, will definitely come true."
"Thanks, 'Beth," Percy said.
"Don't call me that," Annabeth said off-handedly, knowing that whatever she said, he wouldn't stop. "Perce, maybe we should get back to our jobs, or di Angelo might actually fire you."
Percy's face turned red as a tomato, "Wait, you heard that whole conversation?"
"Yup!" Annabeth said cheerfully, "We really need to work on your pick-up lines."
Nico watched Percy checking out customers dejectedly, one item at a time from a distance. It was kind-of depressing. Maybe I should go over there and talk to him, Nico though. That always seems to make him happy. Nico quickly dismissed that idea. That might come off as too friendly.
He watched as a girl with choppy-black-hair walked up to Percy's check-out station. Percy suddenly became alert. Girlfriend perhaps?
Percy had never mentioned having a girlfriend before, but it seemed pretty accurate. A cute guy having a girlfriend. Why had Percy never told him before though? Nico shook off the sense of betrayal that overcame him, after all, you don't just casually bring up you are -in fact- not single in a conversation. Especially with your boss.
Nico decided to do some top-notch spying.
He sneaked over to Jackson's station and tried to do some eavesdropping.
"-Can you pleeeeeeaaaaaassssseeeeeee, just come over to our house to do it with us," the black-haired girl said.
"No, I have to work," Percy said.
"You owe me, after how poorly you did last time. I'll even let you be on top," the black-haired girl begged.
"Thals, that's tempting, but I have to do this job. For my mom," Percy told her.
"While that's admirable Perce, you gotta learn to take a break," The girl said, sighing. "Come over at any time tonight." She waved then walked away.
Nico internally noted that he should give Jackson a raise and more breaks.
Percy sighed then went back to his original position. Nico waited for a few more customers to leave before he went over to Jackson.
"Sooo, was that girl you were talking to your girlfriend?" Nico teased.
Percy looked surprised at the visit, but managed a laugh, "No, that was my step-cousin, queen of being annoying."
Nico choked, "B-but you were talking about- about doing it."
Percy's innocent eyes looked confused, "Yeah, making a fort with Thalia's bunk beds. Her daughters love it. They think I make the best forts in the world." Jackson looked proud to have gained that title.
Nico breathed a sigh of relief, "Well, in that case, I would love to see your fort."
Percy's eyes brightened, "That would be fun. I'll ask Thals if you could come over sometime!"
Nico stumbled backward, "Oh, no, really, it's fine."
Percy gave the Italian puppy-dog eyes, "Pleeeaaaaassssseeeeee!"
Nico sighed and looked away, "Fine…"
"Yay!"
Percy was optimistic for the rest of the day.
"Jackson, your friends already left, you should go," Nico said.
"But I wanna wait for yooooouuuuuuuu," Percy whined.
Nico sighed, "I'm sure someone is wondering where you are right now, you should go."
Percy sighed dramatically, and made a big show of leaving. Nico felt himself missing the other man's presence.
After closing up the store, Nico walked out to find none other than Percy Jackson standing outside in the cold waiting for him.
"Jackson, what are you doing out here?" Nico said, staring at him.
Percy was triple times as cute as he usually was in the store's apron. If Jackson didn't work at Nico's store, Nico thinks Percy could be used as a weapon against the store. Jackson was wearing an aquamarine-colored oversized swim team sweatshirt, tight-fitting jeans, and worn-out sneakers.
"Neeks, are you just going to keep gaping at me, or do you wanna get going. You know I don't just wear the store uniform everywhere I go," Percy said, hands in his pockets. Neeks? That was new.
It was dark out, and it was starting to snow. In the distance, you could hear the sound of cars on the highway. Lamps outlined their forms, making Percy look like an angel.
"You're on a swim team?" Nico asked, mentally slapping himself. Was that really the first thing he said to Jackson.
Percy looked proud, "Yeah, I'm the captain! We should get going though," He grabbed Nico's wrist and dragged him to what Nico guessed was his car.
"Wait! Where are we going?" Nico asked, he might have a crush on Jackson, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have the common sense not to go into a stranger's car. Well, Jackson wasn't really a stranger, but- That wasn't the point! Nico wanted to know where they were going.
"To my cousin Thalia's house, duh," Percy said like it was obvious. "We're going to make a fort!"
Percy's excitement was just plain adorable, Nico decided to get in. He pretended to be reluctant, but in reality, he was excited to meet Percy's step nieces.
While Percy drove, Nico fell asleep on Percy's shoulder. Percy thought that at that second, Nico looked cuter than a baby kitten. When they arrived, Percy debated between carrying Nico or waking him up. Percy opted for the latter because he thought it might be embarrassing to be asleep when he met the hosts.
Percy lightly tapped the Italian on the shoulder, then stared at him.
Nico awoke to Jackson staring at him, they were in dimmed lighting. Percy's car.
"Oh, sorry for falling asleep," Nico said, covering up his yawn.
Percy giggled, then said, "It's s'okay, you were probably tired from a long day at work. You can sleep over if you don't have any other plans."
"Jackson, really it's okay," Nico insisted.
Percy sighed, "Okay, let's get going."
They both got out and walked to the door of the house they had parked in front of. Percy rang the doorbell. Nico heard a commotion from inside, then the door opened to reveal a tall girl with braided brown hair, a white tank top, purple painted toenails, and short jeans. Her skin was a little lighter than Hazel's. Standing next to her in a princess costume was a girl that only came to about the height of the woman's knee. Her skin was freckle-y and white. Her hair was messy and red-ish. A wand was clutched in her hand.
When she spoke, she had an accent from somewhere Nico couldn't quite place, "Oh, hey Percy! The girls were waiting for you all day. They kept asking when you were coming!"
Percy laughed, then the girl named Thalia came around the corner holding another girl that had mangled brown hair that was very short. This girl was wearing a light green shirt that had food stains on it and no paints. The girl with red hair looked around six-years-old and the second one looked around three.
"Hey, Perce! I see you brought Nico!" Thalia said.
"H-how do you even know me?" Nico stuttered.
The girl next to the red-haired girl said, "Percy goes on and on and on about how cute you are, and-"
"Reyna! Shut up!" Percy exclaimed. Both Nico's and Percy's cheeks were as red as a strawberry.
Thalia laughed, "Nico, Percy, come in, we can introduce ourselves properly."
After Nico got out of his uniform, Percy let Nico borrow some of his clothes.
"Nico, you look so cuteeeeeee," Thalia complimented. "You will suit our Percy nicely." Nico blushed.
Reyna had gotten both the kids dressed in animal pajamas. The red-haired girl had a frog outfit on and the brown-haired girl had a lion nightgown on.
Thalia led Nico to the kid's room where Percy was currently pushing a giant bunk-bed into the middle of the room.
Thalia turned to Nico and said, "I'm Thalia, but I think Percy already told you that." Thalia pointed to Reyna who was holding the younger girl in her arms. "That is Reyna and she is holding Rashi, the other girl who is bothering Percy is Kinley."
"So are you guys like… married?" Nico asked hesitantly.
"No, we're engaged. You have a problem with that?" Thalia said, glaring at him.
"No! I don't in fact, I'm gay," Nico said.
"Good, because Percy is bi," Thalia said. She looked bursting to go tell Percy something. Nico was exploding at this new found information. "Random question: is Percy your type?"
Nico laughed nervously, going back to watching Percy, "Uhh, why?"
"No reason," Thalia said while smiling mischievously. "No reason."
"Does… does Percy need help?" Nico asked, concerned.
"Probably."
"Then why don't we go… help him?"
"Oh, you can. Imma go put Rashi to bed," Thalia said. "You can go make-out with Percy or something." My face is going to turn permanently red if she keeps doing that, Nico thought.
Nico walked over to where Percy was working, when Kinley tapped him on his knee. Nico bent down to talk to the child.
"Mi-mister, uhh-" Kinley started.
"You can call me Nico," he said.
"Ni-Nico, a-are you Per-Percy's boyfriend? Mommy always says h-how you and Percy a-are going to marry one d-day," Kinley stuttered.
Nico responded, "Uhh, no. Not yet."
"S-so one d-day you are?" Kinley asked.
"I don't know, Kinley. What do you think?" Nico said gently.
Before Kinley could respond, Percy came up to us and picked up Kinley. "Sorry, is she bothering you? Kin-Kin, your fort is done." Percy cooed the last part.
"Th-thank you P-Percy. I l-love you," she pecked Percy on the cheek then ran off to the lit-up, tall, tent-like structure Percy had crafted.
Percy sighed, "I'm worried about her. She has a speaking impediment, I don't want her to get bullied in school for it."
Nico didn't know what to say about that, it was kind-of of out of the blue. It was sweet that Percy was so worried.
When Nico didn't respond, Percy turned to him and asked if he wanted to watch a movie. Nico nodded in response. Percy pulled him by his sleeve to the couch in the living room. They both made a nest of blankets and snuggled on the couch. They ended up watching Finding Nemo to Nico's mass confusion.
Nico didn't end up going home that night.
Percy was nowhere to be found. That alone was quite worrisome.
Nico searched the whole store relentlessly before he arrived at the storage room where they kept all the food in stock.
The boy poked his head into the dark room, not expecting a result, but there, standing in the middle of the room seeming in deep thought was his prey.
Nico's first thought was, who stands in the middle of a dark room to observe stuff? Then he remembered this was Percy Jackson he was talking about.
His second thought was, had Jackson been here the whole time Nico was searching? If so, what the fuck was he doing in here that required his full attention for fifteen minutes?
"What are you doing?" Nico asked. Percy's head snapped around, and his eyes widened for a split second at the sight of Nico then went back to normal.
He turned around so he was facing Nico then proceeded to smile at the Italian. "Oh, hey, Neeks. I was just gouging if we needed to restock anything anytime soon. We might need more bagged sandwiches. They seem to be popular lately."
Nico nodded, signifying he heard Jackson.
Nico walked further into the containment room towards Jackson. Percy looked confused, then his eyes widened in horror, "Nico! The door, it's-!" Percy was interrupted by the slamming of a huge door.
Nice turned towards the source of the sound. The door was closed. They were locked in here. Together. Alone. Nico blushed at the thought.
"Oh my gods, I'm so sorry!" Nico began to apologize.
Percy waved his hands around, "Oh no- it's fine. Someone will eventually find us."
Nico nodded numbly.
"Until then- what should we occupy ourselves with?" Percy walked closer to the Italian.
Suddenly, the green-eyed boy tripped over a lone can that must have fallen before the mess. Nico caught him in his arms. Their faces were inches apart and their breathing was shallow. Nico realized how intimate this was. Nico's face turned beat red as was Percy's.
Percy adjusted himself so he was solely leaning on Nico. He stood on his own two feet, but they were still within a foot's distance.
"C-can I kiss you?" Percy asked, cheeks red.
Nico nodded, then did it himself. They both melted into the kiss, eyes closed. Nico felt Percy move his hands so they were positioned on the back of his neck. Nico moved his own hands through the other boy's silky black hair. Nico inhaled the scent of the sea. So good.
Wanting more, Nico bit the other boy's bottom lip, silently asking for permission to enter. Percy opened his mouth, Nico tentatively pushed his tongue in. Percy moaned into the kiss.
Nico's hands wandered to Percy's waist.
Without warning, the metal door opened producing lots of warning noise. Light streamed into the dark storage room. Nico and Percy jumped back from each other, staring.
Jackson investigated who had interrupted the two's make-out session. They would probably be dead in about two point five seconds. For two reasons, one, too hide to evidence. Two, well they interrupted Nico and Percy's make-out session.
Standing there was Annabeth, dressed in the store uniform. She smirked knowingly, "Were you guys enjoying your time alone?"
Ignoring the question, Nico cleared his throat, "Uhm, I was just accompanying Jackson here to the storage room to restock the… uhm, sandwiches."
"Yeaaahhh, sure you were," Annabeth said a smirk still plastered on her face. "Percy let's get back to work."
With that, Annabeth dragged Percy away. Percy didn't hear the end of it from Annabeth.
Percy was getting ready to leave after his shift, the details of Nico and Percy's previous make-out session fresh in his mind; even though it happened hours ago. Percy hoped this wasn't just a one-time thing.
The back door to the store opened and Percy turned expecting it to be his annoying best friend, Annabeth here to taunt him more. Possibly a coworker. Instead, who he saw was much better (and hotter in Percy's humble opinion), Nico di Angelo.
"Hey, Jackson, I have something to ask you," Nico said nervously. Like he was scared Percy would yell at him.
Percy hummed in response, and walked up to the blushy Italian. He swayed his hips as he walked up to Nico. Percy rested his arms around Nico's shoulders and whispered into his ear, "Yes?"
"Umm…" Nico started, then he clenched his eyes shut in determination, "Percy Jackson, will you go out with me!"
Percy paused, surprised at the boy's actions, then his face lit up in a smile brighter than the Sun. "That's the first time you called me Percy."
Nico's blush deepened in color, "So is that a yes, or no…?"
"Of course, Nico," Percy said with his snow-melting smile. "Can I kiss you?"
"Yes."
Their lips connected in the cold, snowy night as the light from the lamps outlined their forms. They both melted into the kiss, it was passionate and needy, but at the same time sweet and gentle. They moved in sync with each other, this time, Percy slipped his tongue in Nico's mouth.
They're bodies were pressed up against each other while Nico's hands were focused on bringing Percy closer to the other and Percy's arms were slung around Nico's waist.
They pulled away from each other, panting, Nico started to say something, but then Percy grabbed his wrist and pulled him into another wonderful kiss. Nico wanted to stay here forever.
But couldn't stay like this forever, because hypothermia, so they eventually pulled away from each other with love and longing obvious in their eyes.
"Do you wanna come over to my house?" Percy breathed out.
Though Nico badly wanted to, he still had responsibilities around the store. He needed to close up, check up on any possible remaining customers or workers, and look at the stock. It was tempting to crash at his new boyfriend's house though. He worded his thoughts to Percy. Percy nodded in understanding.
They just started dating, but gods, they were whipped.
The company was making Nico check the quality of shelves that held all the clothes and shit. Sometimes, Nico wished he wasn't the only store manager here.
Nico hears the familiar sound of a shopping cart being pushed fast down an isle. Loud. Very loud.
Nico turns just in time to see Percy jump up on the shopping cart's handle like a gymnast on the bar. He kissed Nico on the cheek while the shopping cart rolled on without Percy's feet touching the ground. Abandoning the cart, Percy runs off leaving the poor cart to roll astray.
"Hey!" Nico yells after him, cheeks lightly tinted. "No running in the isles, and I want more kisses!"
Nico runs after his boyfriend as Percy giggles in amusement.
Was it good? Was it bad? I don't know unless you tell me in the reviews! So go... do that. Sorry, that was me attempting to be an annoying commercial. You could follow me if you liked it that much, though I don't expect you to because I've only written a total of two fanfictions on this account. You could heart the story, I guess.
One of the scenes in here was impromptu and at first, I hadn't planned to write it.
Ciao from the oblivion,
