Vampires were what Patton Sanders feared the most in the world. There were vampires everywhere in Patton's small village. His father and brother were scared for him.
The reason being is because all first-born children of the Sanders family must be mated since it was Patton's ancestors fault vampires existed in the first place. Patton's younger brother Virgil was completely outraged that his older brother was to be mated by a monster he didn't even know!
"Virgil… I assure you that'll I'll be fine." Patton promised Virgil. "THAT'S ABSOLUTE HORSE SHIT, PATTON!" Virgil exclaimed, "YOU'RE TO BE MARRIED TO A MONSTER!"
"Virgil Sanders!" Thomas Sanders, their father, exclaimed, "Hold your tongue, young one." Virgil breathed in a huff and looked at his father. "We all knew this day was coming, Virgil." Thomas told Virgil.
Virgil sighed again. He held a look of sympathy as he looked at both his older brother and his father. "I will be fine, Virgil… I love you and Father deeply." Patton whispered to Virgil with a soft smile.
Virgil was not convinced and hugged Patton. Patton hugged him back.
*A little bit later*
Patton was sitting at the town square with his bags and his family. His only family…
The full moon was risen. A soft rustle was heard from all around them. Patton gulped as he saw a pair of yellow eyes from the shadows. A man with dark skin stepped out. He held yellow eyes and his fangs were bared.
"Is this your first born, Mr. Sanders?" he asked Thomas. Thomas nodded his head with great sadness. Patton was crying. Another vampire emerged into Patton's sight. Patton gasped and blushed.
The vampire was gorgeous. He held piercing yellow eyes, vitiligo skin, and silky dark brown hair. "This is prince Janus of the vampires. You are to be his mate. Every Sanders first born is to be betrothed to the next in line for the throne." The vampire told Patton.
Patton gulped and nodded. Prince Janus glared at Patton and sped over to him. He gazed at Patton with intensity. Patton squeaked but stayed still. The Prince huffed and looked at the other vampire. He turned to Patton and offered his hand.
"Say your goodbyes, Sanders, for you wont see your family until winter." Janus told Patton. Patton nodded, said his goodbyes to Virgil and Thomas, and took Janus' hand. That would be the last time the Sanders family would see Patton until winter.
