Happy Star Wars Day, everybody! I know that this story has been posted late in the day, but I wanted to post this particular story idea that I've written up for the occasion. I hope you all enjoy this story because I can see it, with proper planning, going places!

*I don't own Star Wars Rebels or any other franchise used in this story!*

Prologue

Ezra Bridger, the young Padawan to Kanan Jarrus or Caleb Dume, was bored. It has been a month since he and the rest of Ghost Crew have been given a mission from the higher ups of the rebellion and he was antsy for some action. He could always try pestering his master for some more training, but he honestly didn't think that would work this time. Kanan never really finished his own training before something called 'Order-66' happened and the Jedi were all but eradicated from the galaxy, so he's likely taught Ezra all that he knows. And all that he could learn from the few holocrons that Kanan had been able to get his hands on.

Ezra didn't feel like bugging Zeb, and the resident Astromech droid, Chopper, was busy helping Hera on the bridge and Ezra had too much respect for the somewhat motherly Twi'lek to annoy her with anything. And if he tried to disturb Sabine who was no doubt in the middle of one of her art projects, well… let's just say Ezra better have his grave dug if she ever gets ahold of him. One time Zeb barged in on her and caused her to mess up one of her paintings, and he was immediately used for target practice by the colorful Mandalorian.

It was scary.

That leaves just one more person who could possibly help him stave off the boredom. The newest addition to their crew, Fulcrum. Or as he and the crew know her as: Ahsoka Tano. A former Jedi who left the order before Order-66 was ever initiated after being framed by her former best friend, Barriss Offee, for bombing the Jedi Temple on Coruscant and murdering a suspect. After what he learned from her about that incident, Ezra honestly doesn't blame Ahsoka for becoming disillusioned and leaving the Jedi. If such a thing had happened to him he'd probably do the same. As well as give the entire Jedi Council a piece of his mind using the most colorful language that the young orphan had picked up on the streets of Lothal.

Unfortunately for Ezra, Ahsoka was currently deployed on a solo mission of her own to investigate the ruins of the Sith Academy on a planet called Korriban. Ahsoka had given him a brief history lesson about it before she left. It's a planet that's saturated in the Dark Side of the Force, and was the home of the original Sith Species. Or the Sith Purebloods as some people often called them. But after the first Dark Jedi were exiled into unknown space, they conquered Korriban and established the first true Sith Order. Korriban was where many a Sith have risen to power, and was even the gathering place of the Dark Council in the days of the Old Republic.

But the planet has long since been forgotten. Even the Emperor, whom the rebellion fights against, seems to not understand the true significance of the planet. Or rather he chooses to ignore it. After all, Korriban has not been used as a base of operations for the Sith since Darth Bane established the rule of two. As a result, it still housed many artifacts and holocrons belonging to past Sith Lords. Each one holding great power and a strong connection to the Dark Side. To any normal Jedi, they would easily fall prey to the seductive whispers of the Dark Side of the Force from being around so much dark energy.

Ahsoka, however, was not a normal Jedi. Nor was she really a Jedi in general. If Ezra had to guess, she's more like that Revan guy that Kanan had once mentioned offhandedly.

That was all that Ahsoka had told him about Korriban. She hadn't told him what the mission was as it was labeled as top secret.

Groaning in frustration, the bluenette sat up in his bunk in the room he shared with Zeb. He decided that he needed to take a walk to clear his head and maybe release some of his pent up energy. Honestly, just about everyone on the Ghost Crew was developing a case of cabin fever.

After putting his boots on and making sure he had his Blaster Saber(his unique Lightsaber/blaster hybrid) with him he put on his cloak and left a note for the others so they wouldn't worry. Ezra didn't understand why, but he didn't want to tell the others that he was leaving. He just had this urge to be alone for a while. Lucky for him the rest of the crew had already gone on a supply run so he could leave unnoticed.

As he left the ship Ezra made sure to suppress his Force signature as he decided to take a walk through the surrounding wilderness. After all of those run-ins with the Grand Inquisitor and now those two other Inquisitors, and even Darth Vader on one occasion he's not taking any chances at possibly getting caught.

But the more he walked and the farther into the wilderness he went, the more Ezra found himself thinking back to one of his and Kanan's past encounters with the Grand Inquisitor. That one time where he blacked out in the middle of the battle. Kanan told him that he had unconsciously tapped into the Dark Side and summoned the biggest member of those creatures before sicking it on the Grand Inquisitor. But something about it didn't feel quite right. Kanan had always described the Dark Side as cold, seductive, and evil. Like a parasite that latches onto someone like a tick or a leech and sucks out all of their nutrients to sustain itself while making the host suffer. And yet it didn't feel like that at all to Ezra, for some reason.

Instead it had felt warm, calming, powerful. Inviting, even. It was almost like Ezra was being hugged by his mother and father for the first time in years even though he knew that the two of them were long since dead. But that shouldn't be possible from what Kanan told him, especially in regards to all other Jedi who have fallen to the Dark Side. Those such as Asajj Ventress and Count Dooku. They were most certainly as ruthless as they came when the Dark Side is involved.

Ezra shook his head and continued on his walk.

He had a great deal of thinking to do.

***To Be Continued…***

Okay, that's it for the story's prologue. Originally, I had something totally different in mind, but then my thoughts shifted to something entirely different. I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. May the 4th be with you, and have a great day!
