Izumi sighed, today was a long day. She just longed to have some time to herself. WITHOUT guards, or without someone watching her. Or without her father trying to make sure that she never got in trouble. Oh well, its not like she could just sneak out. The guards would catch her for sure! Plus, what would she do when she gets out? It's not like she wanted to hurt anyone! But still, she could only dream. Just then, a guard came into her room. "Your grandmother is here, princess." He said. Grandma Ursa! Izumi thinks. "Alright, thanks!" Izumi says a bit more cheerfully.
"Izumi! I'm glad you're here!" Her father said. Izumi gives her father a light smile. "Like I wouldn't be here dad!" she says. "Yeah Zuko, why wouldn't she be here?" Her mother asks. "Hehe, it was just a joke! You know that Mai!" Her father says. "Right, of course I do." Her mother says smirking. Just then, a figure bursts into the room. "Hello dear." Izumi's grandmother says. "Grandma Ursa!" Izumi says jumping to her feat to give her a hug. "Now do tell me if your father has been treating you well?" Grandma asks. Another figure bursts into the room. "If not, he has 5 seconds to run!" Aunt Kiyi says. "Aunt Kiyi!" Izumi says running to give her a hug. Her father starts laughing. "Of course I have, right sweetie?" Her father asks. "Uhm…" "Is there something wrong Izumi? Have I done anything?" Her father said. "No, of course not! Sorry, I just spaced out!" Izumi says. "Right, thats the number one Zuko move, always presume the worst when it comes to what your children think of you. Come on Zuko, you know you aren't your father!" Her mother said half amused. "Right, of course of course." Her father says eyes going back to its original size. "Anyways, I have a small gift for you Izumi!" Grandmother said. "Really?" Izumi asked. "Mhm." her aunt says nodding. "Mom, Kiyi, you shouldn't have!" Her father said. "Well, I did. Here you go sweetie! It used to be used a lot by your aunt Azula!" Grandma says to her. Her fathers back seemed to straighten at the mention of his other sisters name. Her aunt put a hand on his shoulder. "Wow! Thanks grandma!" Izumi says.
After her grandmother left, she took a look at the mask, a pretty shade of mask was very realistic. It looked like a spirits head cut off from its own body. "Pretty huh?" Her mother asked. "Uh yep." Izumi says. "Tell, do you wanna talk about anything going on with your father?" Her mother asked. Izumi sighs. "Well, he's great and all, but-" Her mother cuts her off. "Yes, he's a bit over protective. I know, I know. I would be a bit iffy about my feelings if I was you." Her mother says. "Can I keep anything from you?" Izumi says. "If you prefer it, you can, but just so you know I'll always find out…" She says. They both laugh. "Good night sweetheart" Her mother says. "Goodnight mom." Izumi says back.
