The world of Pokémon…

An amazing world filled with amazing creatures.

Obviously, they are called Pokémon.

They live everywhere, the sky, the sea, the land, yadda yadda yadda, you already know this stuff.

The world is protected by Pokémon who are seen as gods by the citizens of the world. Due to being only really known through myth, they are referred to as Legendaries. 3000 years ago, in the region of Galar, the Legendaries fought a great battle against a being known as Eternatus. The Legendaries fought hard and even had the help of Necrozma and the Ultra Beasts.

But it still was not enough.

Necrozma was injured during the battle and fled to Ultra Space to heal. The Ultra Beasts followed it, as they are only loyal to Necrozma.

If it were not for the help of the pair of Legendaries known as Zacian and Zamazenta, all would have been lost.

The humans have named the event "The Darkest Day," which the Legendaries secretly accepted as the name.

They continued to watch the world, and around 1000 years later, Arceus had to stop a meteor from destroying a section of Sinnoh. She was helped by a man named Damos. In return, she gave him the Jewel of Life to help bring life back to the area. When Arceus had come back to take back the Jewel of Life, Damos seemingly betrayed her. However, he was under mind control, and with the help of a group of heroes from the future, he was proven to not have betrayed Arceus in the past.

Many years later, several new Legendaries had joined the pantheon. There was Mewtwo, a genetically created clone of Mew who had joined a few years ago. There was a young Latias, who had joined after her brother sacrificed himself to save their home city. A newborn Manaphy had joined later, much to the older Legendaries dismay. A young Keldeo, an apprentice of the Swords of Justice had also joined later, as did a Victini who was trapped in a city until two years ago. Several of these newbies seemed to be connected to a human who has interacted with nearly all the Legendaries. In fact, the human was one of the humans who had traveled to the past to help Arceus. And it was rumored that he was the new Hero of Ideals. At least, according to Zekrom. Zekrom had attempted to observe Ash, but unfortunately, he depowered his Pikachu and never saw Ash since (other than the time with Victini).

The Legendaries had held regular meetings about the current events of the world. One of these meetings was about to happen.

Hall of Origin, above Mt. Cornet in the Sinnoh Region:

The hall was busy with various Legendaries coming from all around the globe. Arceus had called an urgent meeting, which interrupted many of their usual tasks around the globe. But some did not mind. These meetings usually fell short anyway, and they proved to be exciting sometimes. With Kyogre and Groudon coming to blows at every single meeting (since they were in a different plane of existence, it did not impact the mortal plane). Arceus was waiting for the last members of the pantheon to arrive. She had urgent news to tell everyone. Once the last Legendary arrived, she decided that she would call this meeting to order. "May I have everyone's attention?" she asked. "I have some urgent news that everyone needs to hear,". "What is it?" Giratina asked. "First of all, I have been sensing unrest in Galar recently. I fear that The Dark One may return,". The Legendaries murmured amongst themselves. "Who's 'The Dark One'," Latias asked. "I would like to know as well, due to being fairly new here and all," said Keldeo. "The Dark One is an alien being that the older Legends fought long ago," said Cobalion. "Indeed," said Lugia. "He nearly killed all of us if it was not for those two,". "So what should we do about it?" asked Giratina. "For right now, nothing. But I will keep watch in case anything happens," said Arceus. "In other news, I am sure you have been noticing that your region's "evil teams" as the humans call them have been mobilizing again?" she asked the others. "Not particularly," said Mewtwo. "Actually, on my flights through Hoenn, I've noticed that some humans with red and blue clothes have been gathering lately," said Latias. "They must be Team Aqua and Team Magma," said Kyogre. "For once, I have to agree with you," said Groudon. "We noticed that Team Galactic is poking around our lakes recently as well," said Uxie. "We have seen humans dressed up in black clothing with shield emblems on their shirts in Unova as well," said Cobalion. "I haven't noticed anything in Kalos," said Diancie. "And we don't think that Team Skull is a threat anymore," said Solgaleo, then under his breath said, "Not that they ever were,". "In any case, this is troubling, as those teams were defeated in the past. If someone is bringing them back together, then that could mean that said person is in trouble,". Said Arceus. "Then I have a proposal to make," said Mewtwo. "If the person you are talking about is the one who has helped all of us, then we should help him as well. And I assume that said person you are talking about is one Ash Ketchum, who is currently still in Kanto right now?". Arceus nodded her head. "I thought so," said Mewtwo. Some of the Legendaries perked up when they heard Ash's name. Manaphy even woke up from atop of Kyogre for a moment, mumbled "Papa?" and then when back to sleep. "If the Chosen One is in trouble due to the evil teams organizing again, then we should indeed send someone to be a bodyguard," said Ho-Oh. "But who should it be?" asked Lugia. "It should not be one of us, unfortunately," said Cobalion. "What where you thinking Mewtwo?" he asked the Genetic Pokémon. "Well, maybe we could send someone from his past," he suggested. "How about Sir Arron?" Mew asked. "His soul is still partly in the Tree of Life," said Yveltal. "Even if I could get his soul, he died over hundreds of years ago, so he would go right to the afterlife,". "Although…there is someone," he muttered. "I have an idea, but I don't think some of you, particularly Zygarde, would like it,". "Let's hear it then," said Arceus. "Lysandre" said Yveltal.

"ARE YOU MAD?!" Zygarde yelled at Yveltal. "Don't you remember what he did to us, to Ash himself?" they asked Yveltal. "Yes, I do," said Yveltal. "But, when his soul passed, I reviewed his life. It turns out that he has connections to Ash. Way before he started his journey. Even before he was born,". "If this is true, then he may be our best bet," said Arceus. "We will have a vote. All in favor of sending Lysandre to help Ash?". Several Legendaries including Mewtwo raised their hands (or what they had in place of them). "All those not in favor?" she asked again. A couple of Legendaries raised their hands/appendages. Zygarde (being in their 50% form at the time) just said "aye". "Then it is settled. We will send Lysandre to help Ash. But we must not interfere. Understand?". The Legendaries nodded their heads. "Meeting adjourned," said Arceus.

This story was inspired by a fanfiction called "Shattered Past". The original is no longer on the internet. I have decided to write a story based on it. Also, this is my first Pokemon fanfic.
