Well, I didn't think I would make a series. Turns out I am! It has a great plot line! Okay, so this is a sequel to Call Me Evil, the prequel is Call Me Broken. And introducing Call Me Wrong!
People are supposed to be happy when someone changes to their side. Not when you're thrown to the side, though. And Lila Rossi was no longer needed. No longer needed by… Shadowbird? Now he had Lady Butterfly. Now he had Cat Blanc. And she had nothing. She didn't have a miraculous, and so she was useless.
But… Ladybug was Marinette, right? Maybe she could do something. Because this was not the Marinette she knew. Not the Marinette Lila had come to hate.
Running down the road, Lila spun into the bakery that Marinette lived in.
"If it's anyone who wants to talk about our daughter being Ladybug, leave," Tom's voice bellowed.
"That's not exactly why I'm here," Lila answered. "I know how to help!" Tom and Sabine poked their heads out.
"What do you mean you can help?" Sabine asked, carefully. She had red puffy, clearly crying. Marinette had turned evil, along with her being Ladybug. Now there was Cat Blanc, meaning Paris wasn't safe.
"I mean, Ladybug, or Marinette, is the guardian of the miraculous! There has to be more superheroes! There is only one way to fight a broken hero- with more heroes," Lila said.
"I guess you're right," Tom said.
"Can I go look in her room?" Lila begged.
"Fine, you're doing it to help our daughter," Sabine said, leading her to the stairs that led up to Marinette's room. Lila burst into the room and opened all the drawers until she found the miraculous box. She pressed the button on the top, which she thought it was a no-brainer doing that, and little animals flew out. Lila screamed, and the animals looked at her weirdly.
"You're not Marinette," a dog-like animal said.
"No, I'm not, and Marinette needs help!" Lila said. She found the fox necklace and switched out her fake for the real one. "Okay, how does this thing work?"
"I'm Trixx, your kwami. To reach my powers, you say, 'Let's pounce,'" a fox-like animal explained.
"Okay, Trixx, let's pounce!" Lila said.
Now Lila stood as someone she had only been as with a purple butterfly- Lila was Volpina. Looking closely at her outfit, she realized some big difference. Mainly, the feeling that came with the costume. The way the costume felt, clinging against her body. The way the it was warm, not cold. The way the flute felt lighter. It was all pluses of being Volpina for a good reason.
She swung downstairs, carrying the miraculous box with her. "Aren't you Volpina? The supervillain?"
"Long story short, now I'm a superhero, not a villain, I've learned that's not the route to go," Volpina explained. "And I'm going to need all the help I can get. Mme. Cheng, you have direct contact with Nadja, right?"
"Yes," Sabine said while nodding.
"Have her tell everyone there is still hope. Because there is, help is coming," Volpina promised.
"We will," Tom replied, and Volpina ran out of the house. She pulled out the turtle, the bee, the snake, and the dragon. She landed in front of Nino and Alya.
"Nino, Alya, Marinette needs help, and there are only a few people who understand," Lila said. She handed Nino the turtle, and hesitated on giving Alya a miraculous.
"You're wearing my miraculous," Alya said. "But if this is to fix what you've broken, then you can wear it. I'll get Luka and Kagami, you get the others." Volpina nodded quickly and Nino transformed into Carapace. Volpina handed Alya the dragon and snake miraculous, and launched off with Carapace to find Chloe.
Landing in front of Chloe, Volpina held the comb out to her. "Chloe, will you be Queen Bee to help Marinette see her flaws?"
Chloe blinked. She looked at the box, Carapace and Volpina. "I always knew you where a lying piece of…"
"Please, don't finish that sentence," Volpina said.
"Tsk," Chloe said. "I have more than that. You may be all that, but, you're making the right choice. And for that, and for Dupain-Cheng's sake."
"Thank you, you don't know how much this means to me," Volpina said, sighing. Chloe opened the box and Pollen flew out.
"Pollen, buzz on!" Chloe said, transforming. Together, the three went to join Ryoku and Viperion to face Shadowbird, Lady Butterfly, and Chat Blanc.
"Oh-ho, looks like a liar got her hands on a miraculous," Lady Butterfly said. "No matter, though, I have my kitty."
"This isn't you," Volpina said, stepping forward.
"How do you know, Lila?"
"Because you never give up," Volpina said. "You never gave up until I broke you. I never imagined that ending to the story. I'm sorry."
"Sorry?" Lady Butterfly nearly fell over laughing. She straightened up, and stared into Volpina's eyes. "If you take a plate and break it, and you say sorry, is it fixed?"
"No?" Volpina said, hesitantly.
"That is correct, saying sorry will never fix me. I have chosen my path, and winning isn't an option for you," Lady Butterfly said. Volpina rushed up to Lady Butterfly before she could react.
"I am right. This isn't the Marinette or Ladybug I've come to hate," Volpina said. "Call me wrong, but I am right." Volpina snatched the butterfly miraculous off of her and held it to her chest. "You may look the same, but you aren't the same."
Marinette looked at herself, and then at Cat Blanc. "I have changed. Why? Because of you." Volpina lost her transformation and put the butterfly miraculous on and Cat Blanc turned into Cat Noir. Shadowbird still had the ladybug earrings, though, and that meant Ladybug was still on his side.
Marinette and Shadowbird took off, and Cat Noir had to be held back from following them.
