Akagi, a proud member of the 1st Aircraft Carrier Division. Belonging to the First Air Fleet in the Imperial Japanese Navy. Sunk in the Battle of Midway during World War II. Called back into battle as part of a summoning ritual to help fight the Abyssals, monsters from the deep. A member of the so-called First Wave. Marked many times for valor and sacrifice in battle by both Japan and its former enemy the USA and many other countries. A hero who returned in her darkest hour.

She got lost.

She was lost following an attack by the Abyssals and a mysterious enemy on her fleet when she was returning from a raid against the Abyssals. Although her comrades managed to survive, she was badly battered, and Akagi herself was considered missing in action due to the lack of evidence suggesting that she had been sunk and failed to answer the call. The news of her disappearance, despite attempts, did not remain secret for long and plunged Japan into mourning. And the rest of the world in fear of further disappearances.

But what happened after she disappeared is a story for another tale.

If you're going through hell, keep going.- Wiston Churchill

For Akagi herself, this was all a great unknown, though she worried about how her friends and those she had sworn to protect would react. She was more than certain they would panic.

Though the shock of appearing in an unfamiliar place was powerful, she quickly recovered, knowing that this was no time to panic. She was quite lucky as she thought. First of all she was in the water and near her position her pilots had found an island where they could see a harbor and a naval base. Just swim up and ask to go home right?

Unfortunately the joy of discovering the island turned out to be premature. Namely, the island was abandoned and it looked like a long time ago. The naval base itself, although from a distance looks good. Upon arrival it turned out to be in ruins. Wrecks of old ships gutted by unknown weapons lay dead in the water. The base itself looked as if the defenders had been mercilessly massacred before escaping or dying.

More strangely, many of the ships or defensive positions were familiar to her. After a longer inspection she realized why. Although the defensive facilities and ships themselves had been solidly gutted after a longer collection of pieces she noticed that they looked like World War II equipment!

What made the light bulb go on in Akagi's head was the wreckage of a ship submerged almost entirely in water except for the bow. The writing on the bow, though faded and barely visible, was still readable, though with difficulty.

USS De Haven DD-469, strange what is she doing here? I remember her telling me about how she became the first sunken Fletcher during the war. She's a strange girl in that respect. How can you brag about being the first ship of your class sunk? Well, unless it's her way of distinguishing herself from her sisters. Only if I remember correctly she was sunk east of Savo Island, not in the harbor!

Just to be sure she checked her inscription a few times to make sure it was the ship. Seeing no mistake about it she had her fairies make a note of what they were seeing and set off on the advice of her captain into the middle of the harbor to look for the base command post or anything where she could find a map.

The march towards the center of the base turned out to be a very disturbing event. The entire area was disturbingly empty. Occasionally she would come across bones of probably base personnel and remnants of their uniforms. Once or twice she saw remnants that said the victim was a small child!

After what seemed like a long march for Akagi, although the crew led her astray by telling her it had only been 15 minutes, she arrived at what was probably the commander's office. Or at least the sign on the rusty board above the entrance or what was left of it said so.

Looking for information and the commander's office in every room. Akagi found old food rations which she took with her to have something to eat and to replenish her supplies. Finally entering the commander's building she found an uninteresting sight. Namely, the remains of two people, someone who from his clothes looks like a commander and a maid?

Okay, this is weird, a World War II weapon, a destroyer that sank in a different place than it should have. And now I've got two bodies in the commander's room where it looks like a woman, hopefully a woman, dressed in a maid's outfit pretty revealing anyway, tried unsuccessfully to protect the commander from something. The problem is that whatever killed them made some of their bones disappear. What else do I find here?

After carefully and respectfully removing what was left of the fallen from the room. Akagi searched the entire room. Searching the room gave her a reason to drink something strong. Namely a cell phone, and quite a good one for the fact that the weapon is from the IIWW times because from the first decade of the XXI century. In addition, she found something that was once a computer, a monitor, which turned out to be lying behind the desk, and a map of the world and the base.

-Well, let's see where we are, she said out loud to herself after she spread out the world map on the surviving part of the desk. The first thing that caught her eye was that it was clearly marked with a red mark where she was with the notation HERE YOU ARE. -Memory problems or what? Never mind.- Her navigation fairies popped up and started comparing the map on the table with known maps.

As it turned out the map, although extremely similar, differs in details from the map of the world known to her. Namely mainly in the fact that a large part of the world is covered with islands that do not exist on her maps. What's more, the appearance of the continents is partially different from the known to her. It is not a big difference in this case, although intriguing. The most information was provided by the legend of the map, namely the caption saying NAME OF NATIONAL STATE AND REPRESENTING FACTION. Next to this were numbers, probably to show which bases belong to whom.

Reading from the top in the letter.

Akagi looked at her fairies after she read what was written in the legend. One of them said -Desu.-(As Americans say Houston we have a problem).

-What don't you say?- replied Akagi.

Meanwhile, at 20 Fleet Base Azur Lane

-Laffey! Wake up, we have to go on patrol in a few minutes!-shouted Javellin, trying to wake up her sleeping friend. -Five more minutes- Laffey replied sluggishly. That's what you said five minutes ago.- Ignoring that, Laffey turned on her side. Seeing that, Javellin sighed, -I didn't want to do this, but I have to.- Then she looked under Laffey's bed and pulled out a secret emergency box.

She then pulled out a bottle full of oxycola and, after opening it, flipped it over and stuck the neck into Laffey's mouth. The sudden crash of the oxycola into the center of her mouth effectively woke Laffey, who quickly pushed the bottle away from her mouth, coughing loudly. Without a word she looked at Javellin with a menacing face and said with a rare show of her lively voice. -DON'T EVER DO THIS!-then she took the bottle and quickly drank what was left in it.

Seeing that her friend had successfully woken up Javellin said to her.-Speed up, we have 3 minutes before we are late.-After which she helped Laffey find her combat outfit. Then they both fired quickly to their target.

They reached the commander's office after 4 minutes. Without knocking, Javellin burst through the door and said, -Sorry I'm late, Commander!- followed by Laffey, who saluted without saying a word.

-You're late!- said Z23 reproachfully to her friends. -Laffey didn't want to wake up.- replied Javellin. -Now again? Laffey should do something about it, you can't be late all the time. In response she got a yawn and a quiet -Laffey likes to sleep- Z23 rolled her eyes in response and just as she was about to say something the commander interrupted her -I hope we are not disturbing you- drawing attention to herself and Ayanami.

-I thought so. -He said when none of the girls said anything embarrassed. -So since everyone's here together, I have to announce that there's been a slight change of plans. -Surprised Z23 asked -What do you mean Commander? -Pulling out some documents from under the desk the commander said -It means that 2 hours ago Siren Detection Radar reported an anomaly in the vicinity of the former US NAVY base from the time of the Second Siren War. The anomaly is uncharacteristically small and fits the signature of related phenomena HOLOLIVE, VENUS VACATION and so on. It is your job to go and see who has been brought into these waters this time. Questions?- Javellin raised her hand. -What about our patrol?- The commander checked the tablet. -Your assignment has been taken over by Destroyer Squadron 5. Any more questions?-

All four of them shook their heads.- None? Then you are dismissed.- The four saluted and left. Checking to make sure no one would be disturbed for the next while, he then locked the door. -Okay, Clev will be taking care of his tree for now if I remember correctly. And Bella is currently busy cleaning up the mess in the cafeteria.-He then pulled out a device from the hiding place under the chair and turned it on -So let's see why they brought you here Akagi?
