Chapter One
A hard slap fell on the soft tender cheek of the little human child of barely five summers. The young child stumbled from the hard blow and fell on his rear painfully. Few silver tears escaped his innocent young grey-blue eyes as he shut them tightly while his small hand cradling his abused red cheek. A tall figure looked down at the young one with face full of disdain and contempt and a cold monotone voice said harshly,
"How many times should I repeat myself so my words could sink into your thick dim-witted skull? Have not I told you before not to run in the corridors like a barbarian? Where are your manners? And now see what your ill-manners led to, you broke a very expensive sculpture." the angry elf Lord stopped to catch his breath before resuming his lecture about manners, rules and decorum. The young child listened silently to the long tirade without uttering any word lest to increase the anger of the elf Lord, he only managed to nod his head obediently and finally the half-elven lord finished his flow of harsh painful words with a tough order for the boy to obey,
"You will spend the rest of the day locked on your room and there is no lunch or dinner for you today. May be hunger could remind you not to break my rules and heed to my words the next time." the young child stood from the ground on shaky legs and dragged his small and thin body to his room. Few minutes later, the sound of the lock of his door was heard and the young human realized that he had to spend many hours alone without company or even any kind of nutrients.
Estel flopped down on his small bed and rested his head on his pillow and let his restrained tears to flow freely from his tired sad eyes. He pulled his blanket over him as if he was trying to hide from the harshness of the world. A couple of hours passed and the young child finally stopped crying, he was too tired to cry more. He knew quite well that nobody will come to comfort him and dry his tears so he wiped his red puffy eyes on his sleeve and closed them tiredly and fell into deep sleep.
In his dream land, he imagined another life which was full of love, warmth and acceptance. He dreamt of a young lady with red-brown hair motioned to him to come closer then she carried him gently and put him on her lap and started to sing softly to him then she kissed his forehead and let him sleep soundly on her chest. Small smile appeared on the young child's face as he pictured many wonderful things that he wished of them to be true but he was denied to have them.
Night fell and the young child woke up from his slumber and he found his stomach growling from hunger. He tried to fall asleep again but the pain of an empty stomach increased prevented him from falling into oblivion. He started to pace his room and every now and then he would look from his window to see if the sun would rise soon but only the shining moon met his eyes.
The young brown-haired child sat beside the window and stated at the shining stars and he started to pray,
"Please, my God have mercy upon me and come quickly to save from this hell. I promise, I will be a good boy and I will listen to what you say if you took me to live with you." A shooting star passed quickly on the sky and the young child considered it as a promise that he will be saved soon. He closed his heavy eyes once more and slept peacefully on the floor beside the open window in hope to meet the dawn of the new day quickly.
To be continued...
