# THE ONE WITH THE TALENT SHOW

It was Emma Geller-Green's first day at college, she was feeling like a hurricane with a mix of emotions. Even though she had been prepared since she was born to go to college, she had butterflies in her stomach and her heart was beating like a loud rock song. Besides college, Emma had the most dreamed job, - she was the best digital influencer in NYC and she was also one of the prettiest girls on the internet. She had blonde hair that reminded the light of the sun and her eyes were as blue as the sky, she was as fashionable as her mother and as intelligent as her father. She had a perfect life. However, she was in an unknown place, as she did not have her best friend Erica Bing with her, she did not have her parents Rachel and Ross, and not even her brother Ben.

At the moment she stepped at NYU, she did not imagine what she would live. She was walking by the campus when she noticed a lot of people standing in front of a big bulletin board, in which there were many colorful papers with a lot of information about the university written on them. Owing to the fact that she was the new girl, she called Ben, who had been studying there for the last 3 years but as she expected, he did not answer his phone. Emma started to sweat imagining what she should do, she decided to hear the student's conversation, and Geller-Green thought that those papers were to choose her first university party, that she had been waiting for since she decided to study at NYU. She signed her name, but Emma did not pay attention to the paper and by that time, she registered her name to be on a talent show in the most important event of the university, and to make things worse, all professors and colleagues would be there. Emma only wanted to live the best university life ever, like in the movies, but as we know, she was already in trouble since she did not sing at all.

On the next day, she invited Erica to visit her on campus because she was feeling lonely. Erica had a smiling face when she arrived; these girls were inseparable like Woody and Buzz, Mike and Sulley or Harry and Ron! She asked her cousin/friend about her family; Emma was by herself for only one day but Geller-Green felt like a year; she missed her parents, her cousins, her aunts and uncles, and of course her favorite place in the world: the Central Perk. Emma could smell the coffee even kilometers away and she felt all the memories that place represents for her in her skin and heart.

After all the chat, Emma and Erica decided to walk on the campus to relax a little more. Erica saw a big poster announcing a talent show at the event and she noticed that Emma's name was there. At the moment that Emma looked at the poster and noticed it too -her heart started to pound and her face turned red- she understood that she had registered to sing at an event, and she could not give up anymore as the entire university had already seen her name.

Emma started stepping back, her hands were shaking since she did not know what to do (again). One idea struck Erica like a lightning, she called aunt Phoebe Buffay, the only singer who both girls told her the situation, and aunt Phoebe thought it was the best thing ever! She had an amazing idea… Emma should sing Smelly Cat, the most important song for Phoebe and all her friends (aka Emma's family). Even though Emma had heard this song a million times and knew the lyrics by heart, heart, and soul, she panicked as she did not feel comfortable singing in public, she was confident only behind cameras on her blog.

The following day, Emma was trying not to cry every minute, but her eyes did not stop watering with so many tears. Phoebe arrived at noon and hugged her as when she was a small baby, aunt P was the loveliest person in the world. She could make you feel loved and happy with only one sentence, she always told her the right thing even though she was a little crazy. Phoebe's heart was so good that Emma knew while she was there, that everything would be okay by the end. Phoebe Buffay calmed her niece down by saying lovely words and all of them went to Central Perk, as Emma needed to feel the power of being confident and how to use music to this. When they arrived there, aunt P told Emma a lot of stories about her memories in that place, she cited all the times that she had sung on that stage, all the times that Ross, Rachel, Monica, Joey, and Chandler had encouraged her to follow her dreams.

From that moment on, Emma had her head up! She was confident. She decided to practice her presentation every day, as the talent show was in 3 days, and with Phoebe's help, she could do her best. As her mother taught her to be, Emma chose the best outfit for her show, she wore a vintage yellow dress representing the 90's, the time that the song was written by her aunt. Emma invited all the family to come and of course, they were there supporting her as always, even her cousins Leslie, Chandler, and Frank Jr. Jr. who lived a little far away. Emma forgot about all the pressure; she was as happy as a kid getting a new toy, after all, she was going to get together with everyone she loved.

The special day had come, and she had decided to face her fears as her family taught her. Emma had her hands shaking but she was quite happy to achieve this, she was feeling confident after all the support. Her family had arrived, and they were all sitting on the auditorium stage; on the backstage, aunt P calmed her down one more time, and Uncle Joey wished her the best luck that she could ever need. Her parents Ross and Rachel kissed her forehead and Emma felt more loved than ever. The concert had started, and Emma was the third to present. She looked like an angel, her hair was curly as noodles and blonde as a sunflower, and her makeup was powerful and sweet at the same time, she was the prettiest girl in that place.

Emma stepped on the stage, the spotlight focused on her and she only had a microphone in her hands. she sat down on a brown bench and the song started to play. Her voice was delightful, she sang the Smelly Cat sentences with all the love that she could have in her heart; and in her head, it was showing a movie with all the memories that Phoebe had told her. In the audience, all friends had a smiling and proud face, they hugged each other and remembered the best time of their lives. Emma finished the song and the entire auditorium applauded her; it is a powerful moment!

After the talent show, they were all together celebrating Emma's presentations when Rachel invited everyone to drink a cup of coffee, Chandler Bing asked where they would go, but in the end, they all knew where they would go. There was just one place in the world that could be their place: the Central Perk; it had their life, their memories, and at this time as a fuller family. There were things that never changed: the Smelly Cat song, the coffee smell, their orange sofa, and of course the most important thing, their real and powerful friendship.
