Transmigration
Chapter I
Transmigration.
A process of a person's soul passing to another body after death. Well at least that's what the Oxford Dictionary would say.
When Naruto Uzumaki closed his eyes for what he thought final time, he didn't expect to open it again. But like always fate was a bitch. When he opened his eyes, he immediately squinted it as too much light of LEDs entered his eyes. He closed them again. After what it felt like hour, he again opened his eyes. When he saw a white ceiling, for a moment it felt like he was in hospital and was proved right when he heard the 'beeping' noise of machine connected to him.
Naruto slowly brought his hand and gently pulled the IV drip. Then he bought his left hand up to remove the ventilator. He took a deep breath and grimaced as pungent smell invaded his nostrils. He tried to sit but immediately felt sore. It felt like he hadn't moved for a long time. He again took a deep breath and scanned his surrounding.
The room was silent apart from his breathing and the beeping sound which was steady now, signifying that you are either dead or took the pin out. He glanced around and saw white walls. There was a window near his bed, all he was darkness. Beside his bed were chairs and a table in front of it, on which some water bottle and glasses were kept. There also was a room opposite to him, which was bathroom.
It took all his strength to not to panic. He checked his chakra reserves. They were full. Good. He tried to contact Kurama but no response. He tried again. 'Kurama'
Again . 'Kurama'.
No response.
Again. 'Kurama'
No response.
He started to panic a little bit. Immediately his mind calmed itself down. 'Calm down Naruto. Nothing bad happened. It's just as Super-Gramps said. Just like always Kakashi-sensei says check your surrounding and go with the flow.' He didn't knew why he wasn't alarmed but he could feel something soothing him.
Before anything could happen, the door opened and a doctor appeared. The person was wearing a lab coat. He had brown eyes and black hair.
The doctor stopped for second before advancing towards the table. "Ah Uzumaki-san! It seems you are awake. I thought it will take more time for you to wake up." Said the doctor with a smile. He picked up the bottle and poured water to a glass before giving it to him.
"What happened to me doc?" asked Naruto as he took the glass of water.
"A nasty accident Uzumaki-san," informed the doctor as he picked the clipboard from the table. "Do you remember anything?"
Here Naruto frowned . What should he do now. His brained immediately bought a solution for him. "Uhh... no doctor. Can you tell me?"
"Car-accident happened." Informed doctor.
'Car? What is car?' he thought. Immediately his brain was assaulted with many pictures of weird metal contraption.
"Oh, is that so." Naruto put his hand over his head while wondering how he did he knew that.
"Yes Uzumaki-san and unfortunately from what I can see, you are having amnesia," Said the doctor with a smile. "Now if you excuse me, I need to run some rest on you. So how are you feeling?"
"Sore" answered the blond.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"Really?"
"Positive." Said Naruto with his right eye twitching. Though he had to wonder why did he answer like that. It wasn't that he didn't know the meaning, but he had never used it in his life.
"I mean really?"
"Yes! Goddamnit!"
"Hmm. Very well then." Said the doctor calmly as he wrote down something on the clipboard while unfazed by the glare he was receiving.
After some question, the doctor stood up and began to leave , "Well I suggest you to recover for the night. Tomorrow someone will be here to pick you."
"...someone?
"Someone." Confirmed the brunette with a nod and left.
'Someone? Well...Just don't let it be some kind of asshole.' He mused.
Snapping out of his thoughts, Naruto stood up and stretched. He groaned when be cracking noise. What to do now? He didn't know. Maybe checking up on Kurama. But he knew his friend must be recovering from the last battle. So he began to access his body for damage. There was no wound on his body except some fatigue. His chakra reserves were full.
So far so good.
Now came the problem, his chakra control was shot, maybe it was because of the whole thing. And the biggest proble
His body.
To be accurate his body was in civilian condition. Or in other words his body wasn't suited for shinobi. All the Katas -Frog Kumite and his kenjutsu style-, reflexes and muscle memory was lost. He would have to start from the beginning. It wouldn't be easy but he could manage it.
'Ugh.. for now I will go with the flow.'
Having nothing to do, he dozed off.

The light from the sun streamed in through the window covered by a set of blinds that only did half-assed job of actually keeping said rays of blinding luminescence from getting through. He groaned in discomfort as his eyes flickered open very briefly. They closed almost immediately after as they were hit by powerful beam of light so bright the blonde thought he might go blind.
Damn that sun. Couldn't it have picked some other time rise. One of these days he was going to find some ways to find some way to turn it off.
Or blow it.
Grunting slightly the blond slowly sat up in the bed, yawning quite loudly. He hated mornings. He wasn't much of a morning person.
He stretched himself out, turning this way and they he raised his hand high in the air and they listened to his back pop and crack. Slowly he got out of his bed and made his way to room's bathroom. The shower began to steam and blonde stepped in, groaning as the heat caused his aching tight and sore muscles in back and shoulder relax. It felt so good, especially after the all of the soreness. He idly wondered why Kurama didn't heal his body. Maybe he was exhausted and recovering? Who knows
Turning the shower off, the blond was finally awake and capable to get ready to meet this 'someone'. This consisted of him getting dressed in the clothes the nurse bought him; a simple black Jean's and white shirt.
Once he was dressed and his stomach was full with the food given to him, the blond opened the door only for a woman to stand in his way.
"Uhh... hello?" greeted(asked?) Naruto.
"Good Morning."
"..."
"...
"Who are you?"
"Well I am your mother. Arakawa Rei."

Arakawa Rei, widow, and owner of one of the biggest and most prosperous pharmaceutical companies. Her husband had amassed quite a bit of wealth with his company, and it was all hers. A fact which would make many people happy but not her. She might have all the wealth and the power, but it wasn't for free. It came with a terrible price.
As mentioned, she was a widow. But her pain didn't stop there. Not only she had lost her husband but also her son. Both dead in terrible accident. The two most important people in her life had been taken away from her. No money in the world could replace that.
It was after that that the woman had taken to locking herself in her home. Said home was close to mansion really, not that it changed much for her. There, she spent her days nothing but staring into the space, her eyes dead. She left the company in the hands of a board committee, which had been chosen by her husband in cases of emergency. The company was hers, but she didn't run it. She had no desire to do anything anymore. She was in her forties, but many said she was still very beautiful and looked like in twenties. That she could still find someone new.
Start over.
Well, she never could. She created a mask. Hiding her emotions from the world, giving away nothing. She knew that she shouldn't bottle up her emotions. But she couldn't help herself.
It was in this state that something miraculous happened. Just as quickly as her family had disappeared from her life, so too had someone else entered it.
Uzumaki Naruto.
The boy was nothing special, he had been in orphanage where she was attending a charity event. She saw how he was shunned because of his whisker-like mark and blond hair. He was sitting by a tree drawing something she couldn't see. But the boy still smiled. Even when some boys made fun of him. he still smiled, but behind that smile she could see the emotional wreck he was. She saw herself, hiding away from the world, giving fake smiles.
Something in her had sparked the moment she laid her eyes on him. At that time she didn't know what it was. Now, she knew it was her instincts as a mother. The thought of letting boy live here, to let another person like her suffer the same thing she had... she couldn't allow that.
So, she adopted him. She wanted him to be in the society, and through it all she had formed a bond with him reminiscent of that of mother and son. A part of her thought it was wrong, that she was pushing her feelings on him. The rest of her didn't care. Perhaps this was just fate telling her that she didn't needed to be alone.
Either way, she took this opportunity to be mother again.
Naruto became her family. It was like Arakawa Rei was reborn. Life returned to her eyes, and she became more interested in the company again. It was only possible because she had Naruto in her life.
Uzumaki Naruto would remain Uzumaki Naruto, however. He wouldn't change his name. It was the only thing that he knew about his real parents, and he didn't want to lose that.
In the end, they both helped one another and were able to stand firm in the face of the suffering life had thrown their way. It was only possible because they had one another.
Then the news of his accident reached her, she quickly rushed towards the hospital. She feared that he would die. That he too would leave her alone. Their personal doctor, Takeshi, told her that he had minimum injuries except the one on his head. He told her that he had amnesia. There was some hope. But what should she do if he didn't remember.
So when he Takeshi had called that Naruto was awake and had amnesia. Rei felt...sad? Relief that he wouldn't leave her alone? She didn't know as she had mixed feelings. But whatever would happen, she promised herself to be with him.
The next day she went to the hospital, straight to the room. Standing in front of door, she felt nervous. How to talk to him about it? How to tell that she was his surrogate mother. How to do it, she didn't knew. When she broke the news she was going to adopt him, he refused to be adopted. Not wanting anyone to waste their time on him. It took her weeks, months even, to break him out of his shell. So she didn't knew, if he reverted back. But one thing she knew about him was to, always expect the unexpected, that was his nature.
The woman was so lost in her thoughts that he did not even hear the door open, revealing her son.
"Uhh... Hello?"
The greeting was lame.
But not to her
Because she knew he was socially awkward. Never talking with anyone or spending time outside. Only studying and playing games in house. Heck, the only friend he had was his neighbour.
It took her few seconds collect her thoughts and give a response. "Good Morning."
Then there was silence. Both staring at each other for a moment.
Naruto didn't knew who this woman was and why even she was here. So he did what he always do, acting impulsively.
"Who are you?" He asked bluntly. And, after a moment, hitting himself mentally for being rude. Yes, he had manners. Sakura and Tsunade had literally pounded it in him. He just chose to give nickname because he liked them. Yep, he was the only person, crazy enough to disrespect their Kage.
'Wasn't a fun time though.' He internally mused.
"I am your mother. Arakawa Rei." Said Rei calmly, snapping him out of his thoughts. She didn't mind him being rude. It was a part of him afterall.
When Naruto first saw her, his first thought that she was nurse. But then dismissed after seeing her casual clothing. His next guess was girlfriend -maybe luck was with him this time-, because of her looks. She also could be his big sister. But never once he thought she would be his mother.
So he did what a logical person.
He fainted.

"Stop it. It's not that funny!"
"Hahaha! May-maybe to you. Hahaha!"
He scowled as she wiped a stray tear. They were in car, going home(it still felt weird to call home). Some time later he woke up. They gave introduction to each other or more like Rei giving it. After that he was discharged from the hospital and now they were here.
When he first saw the car, mental images entered his brain. It was like reading the theory but not getting the experience. Still weird for him though. For a shinobi who, for his whole life, ran on his feet, it caused him some discomfort.
"What happened to me by the way? The doctor gave only vague descriptions." asked Naruto now more seriously.
Rei, now calmed down, took a deep breath and answered him, "From what I have heard, a car hit you. Long story, short. Your friend survived with minimum injuries. But you, on the other hand, were admitted in hospital for 2 weeks."
"I thought it would take much more time to recover." Asked Naruto with an eyebrow raise. ' Or at least for other people.'
"It would have but you were always a fast healer. Plus Takeshi is our personal doctor, so he knew about your healing rate. Otherwise you would spending more than a month in hospital" Said Rei, eyes forward and hands on the steering wheel.
"... and about other friend?" Naruto asked, remembering that part.
"Ah... don't worry about it. You will meet him soon." Rei said with a wink.
" Him?" He questioned with raised eyebrow.
"You will see him soon. Anyways are you hungry?"
"Do we have some ramen in our house?" he asked, looking at the buildings with childlike gaze.
"A cabinet, full of different flavours."
"If you weren't my mother, I would have asked you to marry me." He grinned.
"What's stopping you then?" She challenged him with her own grin.
Naruto blushed, he didn't thought she would answer him. Quickly thinking, he retorted, "Is incest allowed?"
"I am your surrogate mother."
"..."
"..."
"..."
"..."
"Anyways, where are we going exactly?" Naruto asked quickly diverting her attention.
Rei:1 Naruto:0
"Well... you are going to new school, after being kicked out of school." She replied, not wanting to tease him anymore.
"Why I was kicked out?" He curiously asked.
"Pranks. Lot of them." She deadpanned.
"Ahem. So what is the name of the school anyway?"
"Kuoh Academy"

2. About timeline, there is a hint in the chapter.
3. About him processing everything calmly, that too will be revealed later.
4. Arakawa Rei is an OC character. She won't be appearing frequently as she is just a side character. And this is NOT a NarutoxRei story. There will only be harmless teasing.
5. Naruto will not be part of Rias' peerage. She doesn't have enough power/pieces to revive him.
6. Pairings. Naruto x ? . Yes it's a single pairing and it's not from DxD. I suck at romance. Plain and simple. But If you guys want, I will see if I can do that or not.

Well this my first fic, so I expect many errors. You guys can ask if you have any questions. I guess I will post another chapter next week maybe. My exams are starting soon. So review even it's a critic.
Edit:Well the pairing I was gonna write was NarutoxFemSasuke. Well I have read a RWBYxNaruto Crossover in which had FemSasuke. I really liked the idea. But the problem is, if I wanted FemSasuke as pairing, she would be the only girl. Meaning there no harem or double pairing. Sasuke is just possessive like that. Pairings are open, if you have suggestion, I will pick two or three girls.So this is Naruto x ? x ? (x?).
