I'm back with another short but sweet InuKag one-shot. I actually wrote this a while ago and I was going to wait to post it until after I was done with "Kagome's Diary" but since today is Mother's Day, I thought now would be a perfect time (especially because Yashahime deprived us of such moments with Inuyasha and Kagome being parents).

I hope you like this story. Please leave a review.

Flowers

"This one, daddy?" Moroha asked, holding up a red rose to show him.

"That's perfect," he replied. "Pick out whichever ones you want."

He and his daughter were in a meadow near the village picking flowers. It was Mother's Day and each of them was creating bouquets to give to Kagome.

"Will mommy like it?" Moroha said as she pulled a daisy out of the ground.

"Of course she will," Inuyasha said as he gathered the last of his own flowers. "She'll like them even more because you're getting them for her, Moroha."

Inuyasha now had a pretty decent-sized bouquet of everything from roses, lilies, and peonies. Kagome loved flowers so he decided this would be a perfect Mother's Day gift for her, especially with Moroha getting her some this year too. Their daughter had been only five months old last Mother's Day but now that she was a little older he was happy to take her with him to get flowers.

Inuyasha glanced over at his little girl next to him and smiled at the sight of her happily picking more flowers. She seemed to be very meticulous about it, scanning the garden after each one for the best flower to add to her bouquet.

It reminded him of how he used to pick flowers for his mother for Mother's Day every year too. He would find them at the edge of the village, away from the disdainful looks of the other people who lived there. Lilies were her favorites and he would gather as many as he could. She would be so happy when he gave them to her and would give him many hugs and kisses.

"You're such a good son, Inuyasha," she would say. "I love you so much."

Mother's Day was hard when she died. It was always another reminder that the only person who loved him was gone and he was all alone in the world. The day had new meaning for him now though. For the second year in a row, it was a day to celebrate the love of his life who had given him the greatest gift a man could ever ask for.

Kagome was such a great mother to Moroha. He always knew she would be from the moment they found out she was pregnant. She was extremely attentive to Moroha and so kind, gentle, patient, and loving. Kagome always went above and beyond to make sure that their daughter was happy. He couldn't be more grateful to have her help him raise her. Everything was so much easier with his partner by his side; he knew that there was absolutely no way that he could do this on his own. She deserved the absolute best that they could give her and he would certainly do his best to make sure she knew how much she was appreciated.

"Are you all done?" Inuyasha asked once Moroha had gathered enough flowers.

"All done," she said with a proud grin.

"Good, let's go give these to mommy."

The two stood up and Inuyasha held her hand as they walked back to their house.

"Will mommy be happy?" Moroha asked.

"She sure will be," Inuyasha said. "Mother's Day is a day to show her how much you love her and appreciate her. Every little thing counts whether you're getting her a gift or doing something special for her."

"Okay."

A shadow passed over them and when they looked up they spotted Sesshomaru overhead.

"Uncle Sesshy!" Moroha called.

Sesshomaru landed on the ground in front of them. Any other time he may have continued on but he had such a soft spot for Moroha and always stopped by to say hello to her. "Nice flowers."

"Uncle Sesshy, did you get your mommy flowers too?"

Inuyasha smirked at his brother who only glared at him. "Yeah Sesshy, gotta get your mommy nice flowers."

"You have to get her some so she'll know you love her," Moroha said innocently.

Inuyasha's smirk widened. Judging by his brother's face, he had a feeling that Sesshomaru would have punched him if his child wasn't around. However, as always, Inuyasha was enjoying making Sesshomaru uncomfortable.

Instead of hitting his annoying brother, Sesshomaru instead patted Moroha on the head. "I will bring her some later today."

"And you'd better do it," Inuyasha said. "Don't let this little girl down."

Sesshomaru just glared at him again. "I don't know how Kagome puts up with you." With that, he took off into the sky.

"I hope his mommy is happy too," Moroha said as they kept walking.

"She will be, Moroha. Remember, Uncle Sesshy is just a big softie."

They continued on home and found Kagome sitting in the hammock in their backyard reading a book.

She'd had such a great Mother's Day so far. Inuyasha and Moroha had made her breakfast in bed and Inuyasha had set up a nice bath for her. He told her that today was her day to relax and unwind so he would take care of all the house chores and cooking and watching after their baby while she did whatever she wanted.

They had left 30 minutes ago saying they needed to get something important and she didn't question it. Instead, she settled herself out here to enjoy the nice weather feeling grateful to have such an adorable daughter to take care of and a kind husband to take care of her.

She looked up from her book when she heard Moroha calling her and was surprised to see them both carrying bouquets of flowers.

"Mommy, look what we got you!" Moroha said.

Kagome bent down next to her and Moroha handed her the flowers. "These are so beautiful!"

"Are you happy?"

"Yes, of course. I'm very happy." Kagome gave her daughter a hug and a kiss. "Thank you so much, sweetie!"

When she stood up, Inuyasha handed her his flowers. "For you, my love."

"You two are so thoughtful," Kagome said. She sniffed the flowers. "These smell amazing and they're so beautiful!"

"Beautiful flowers for a beautiful woman," he said to which Kagome blushed. "You're an amazing mother, Kagome. We wanted you to know how much we love you."

Kagome felt like she wanted to cry. Each day she was so grateful to have her incredible husband by her side and that he had given her this sweet child to love and protect.

"You're so sweet." She picked up Moroha and hugged her and kissed her, then kissed her husband. "I love you both so much."
