(We promise). The brown haired girl looked at the two words on her phone, she was torn, unsure if they could be trusted but what choice did she have truly have.

TEN HOURS EARLIER

It was ten in the morning in the Sector Seven slums, the alarm clock on the barmaids bedside table sounded echoing around the room. Groaning she leaned one arm up slapping the snooze button, slowly rubbing her eyes she looks to the other side of her bed noticing it was empty once again.

Sliding out of bed she puts her bare feet on the cold metallic floor shivering a little as she stands stretching before heading to the sink to get herself more presentable for the day.

Twenty minutes passed and she was finally out the door, locking up she felt someone cover her eyes whispering in her ear "guess who?" Her martial arts instinct kicked in as she slipped behind the owner of the hands taking one arm with her slamming them against her door.

"Ow ow ow" the owner of the arm cried out in pain "It's me silly". The barmaid took a closer look letting go quickly and apologising now recognising her girlfriend who shook her arm getting some feeling back in it.

"I'm so sorry" she continued to apologise.

"It's fine" her girlfriend chuckled "It's my fault that I forgot surprising you like that with everything happening". She turned in her blue top and brown jeans smiling as she pulled her girlfriend into a quick kiss before stepping back. The barmaid smiled taking in her girlfriends usual outfit, her blue top covered by scrap armour and brown jeans.

Taking her girlfriends hand the barmaid headed through the Sector Seven slums and her bar Seventh Heaven, she pushed the door open and smiled seeing all her friends and fellow members of Avalanche sat around.

"Finally the lovebirds appear" The messy haired man at the bar said smiling over at them both "We were wondering if we'd have to open without everyone's favourite barmaid or get the boss to take over".

"Your just jealous I wake up to Tifa's beautiful face every morning and you don't Biggs" The girl joked. The barmaid Tifa headed behind the bar a smile on her face as she waved to the man named Biggs, looking around she saw the tall pale man in his red torn cloak they called boss.

"Morning Vincent" Tifa said sweetly waving, the man named Vincent didn't speak but waved a hand indicating he had heard her before looking to her girlfriend.

"By the way Jessie, why weren't you there when I woke up?" Tifa asked curious, she had noticed a few times her girlfriend had been acting rather secretive. The girl named Jessie seemed to be looking at her phone before looking up smiling nervously, before she could respond however the doors swung open as two men in black suits entered. The man on the right was short with messy red haired put into a ponytail trailing down his back, the other on the left was taller his black sunglasses glinted in the dim light of the bar.

"Good morning everyone" The red head smiled looking around, Vincent and Biggs jumped up guns drawn pointing at the two men, Jessie was the last to draw as she aimed for the kill shot, the two men smirked holding their hands up in mock surrender.

"We just came to talk" The taller of the two said looking to them all in turn. Not trusting them the three kept their weapons up before a warm hand found its place on top of Jessie's she turned to see Tifa smiling as she nodded Jessie lowered her gun slightly.

"Then talk" Tifa said her eyes locked on the two men.

NINE HOURS LATER

It was another busy night at Seventh Heaven Jessie was sat on a bench in the nearby playground thinking to herself as the breeze played with a few strands of her hair. Between her fingers on her gloved hands she tapped a business card against the bench.

' "We are offering you an easy out of this" The taller man said, he slowly reached into his pocket as Jessie raised her gun again ready for a kill shot is required before he removed a business card from his pocket placing it on a table in front of him.

"We don't like how things are either, I mean you're just a small sector of a bigger group" The red head continued "We hate to make the trip here all the time so on that card is a number, just text it and we'll respond. Do the right thing before things turn nasty and maybe people get hurt". With that said the two slowly backed away headed out of the door, everyone breathed a sigh of relief as Vincent and Biggs ran to check they had properly gone Jessie picked up the business card as Tifa turned away she slipped it in her pocket.'

She wasn't sure what they had meant by and easy out but the thought of people getting hurt had stuck with her, in her mind the image of a bloody Tifa flashed through her mind trapped under the rubble of Seventh Heaven as Jessie watched helpless unable to get to her. She shook her head, clearing the thought from her mind as she looked down at the number on the card.

Slowly removing her phone her fingers typed out the message before she knew it.

(You promise that if I take your easy out that everyone will be safe? No one gets hurt?)

A few seconds later her phone beeped with a reply (we promise). Jessie looked down at the two words on her phone, she was torn, unsure if they could be trusted but what choice did she truly have. She wanted what was best for her friends, her girlfriend, everyone to be safe. A few minutes passed as she thought long and hard before moving her phone in front of her typing out a response.

(Fine. I'll do it)

AN: Welcome to the beginning of my newest final fantasy seven fanfiction. This is a story about the difficult choices made in the name of love, the pairings so far will be Tifa X Jessie, I have a lot more surprises to come not just Vincent being the leader of the Sector seven cell of Avalanche but you will have to wait
