Introductions
The moonlight shone through the empty dining hall of Hogwarts. The fires burned bright when there was a loud sound in the middle of the hall.
CRACK!
The sound of someone apparating rang out through the great hall.
It was James and Lily Potter. They were members of the order of the phoenix, and recently married.
They were called by Albus Dumbledore to attend a "really important meeting", and since it is the summer holidays, none of the students will be there.
"I wonder how long it will be until everyone else gets here," said Lily, gingerly sitting down on one of the love seats set up in a circle already.
James shrugged and plopped down beside her. "Not long, I hope. I want this to be done quickly."
Just as the words were out of his mouth, there were several more cracks heard.
With instincts, they shot to their feet and pointed their wands at the sounds.
There was a pause, then a laugh. "Really Prongs, Lily flower, going to harm your best mate?" The voice of Sirius Black rang out.
"Technically, Padfoot, one of their best mates. You just can't forget me or wormtail, can you?" Remus Lupin was heard, laughing.
James and Lily relaxed. "Oh, shut up you tossers. No need to fight over us!" James said, beckoning them to come inside. "Brought quite a party, did you?" He asked, glancing behind them.
Marlene McKinnon scoffed. "Brought? I would like to think that we came here on our own accord." She said, slapping her boyfriend, Sirius, upside the head.
She then went up to Lily and hugged her. "Oh, how are you? I haven't seen you for so long!" Lily laughed and hugged back her best friend. "As well as ever Marlene. I haven't seen Alice either, so it would be quite a reunion for us."
Dorcas Meadows scoffed. "Alice? What about me? I want a hug too!" Lily again laughed and hugged her other best friend. "Of course, Dorcas. I couldn't forget about you if I wanted to."
Dorcas frowned, what's that supposed to mean?"
Marlene came up behind her and slung her arm over her shoulder. "It means that you are unforgettable!" She said, laughing.
Meanwhile, the marauders were having their own reunion. But it didn't take them long to realize that their other friend was missing.
"Where is Peter? I haven't seen him, have you?" James asked, looking around, frowning.
Sirius also looked around and shrugged. "Oh, he'll turn up soon, I expect."
Just as he said that there were more cracks, revealing Euphemia and Fleamont Potter, Alice and Frank Longbottom, Edgar Bones, Fabian and Gideon Prewett, Minerva McGonagall and the rest of the order of the phoenix.
Euphemia immediately rushed to her son hugging him tightly. "James, I haven't seen you in so long." She said, her voice a little raspy. She pulled away from him and went to hug Lily. "How are you Lily, sweetheart? Oh, it's so good to see you!"
Lily laughed and replied "You too Euphemia. Hello Mr Potter!"
"That's not fair, you call my wife by her name but not me?" He said, laughing as Lily blushed.
The twins interrupted, saying, "So are you early or are we late?"
Molly Weasley, the sister of the twins, and married to Arthur Weasley, spoke up.
"Well, either way, Dumbledore isn't here,
And we must wait for him, so let's get seated, shall we?"
No sooner did she say the words, there was one last crack! As Dumbledore appeared behind them. He looked very disturbed, which a bit uncharacteristic for him. But when he looked up, his eyes were twinkling once more.
"I am very happy you are all here, please, take a seat," He said, gesturing to the sofas and armchairs.
Lily and James sat down together, Marlene and Sirius occupied the other loveseat, Remus got comfortable on the rug, Caradoc Dearborn was on an armchair, Benjy Fenwick was on another one beside him, Molly and Arthur Weasley sat together, The Twins spread out on the sofa, Edgar Bones was on the floor too. Frank and Alice Longbottom were seated together, Minerva McGonagall was on the other armchair, Euphemia and Fleamont Potter were together, Dumbledore was on the last armchair.
I have gathered you all here today because my phoenix, Fawkes, got me a very important message," A short pause, "From the future."
There was dead silence. Lily Potter was the first to speak up. "But Dumbledore, that isn't possible. Are you sure it was from the future and not a trick of some sort?"
Dumbledore smiled at her and replied, "Yes, dear, I have checked this matter, thoroughly, but the letter mentioned things that were not possible to know unless they were not from this time frame."
James Potter said "They? Who do you mean by they?"
Dumbledore again smiled and said, "It was from a certain boy named Harry Potter."
Lily gasped. "My son?" She asked, beaming.
"Yes dear, your son. The letter didn't give any information about that, but they told me a spell that would allow us to communicate with them."
Caradoc Dearborn was the next person to ask "But why? Why communicate to the past so suddenly?"
Dumbledore sighed. "You know as well as I do, Caradoc, that this is a war. Not everyone will get away with it. Blood will be spilt, betrayals will be happening, and the worst part? Innocent people will be murdered."
There was silence. "Well, then how will we stop it?" Asked McGonagall, anxiously.
"Books," Dumbledore said simply.
"Books?" Euphemia echoed, convinced she heard him wrong.
"Yes, dear, books. The people from the future have decided that they will put all that they have been through in books, which we will read."
"Then where are these books?" Marlene asked, looking around.
"They said they will send them as soon as we say the spell" He said, pulling out his wand.
He raised it to the ceiling and muttered something under his breath. Immediately there was a black portal above them, from which they heard voices.
"Harry, shut up, they may say it any second now, and-OH MY- ok, ok, sorry I freaked out." A female voice said, seeing the portal.
"Hello, people, we are from the future!" A voice said, trying to sound triumphant.
"Oh, move over Harry. Let me handle this." Ignoring the boy's protests, the voice said. "Hello, I am Hermione Granger. I am a friend of Harry Potters, and no, before you ask, I am muggle-born so you do not know"- Here she was interrupted by shouting in the background.
"RONALD WEASLEY, GIVE ME BACK MY BROOMSTICK THIS INSTANT!"
"COME ON, GINNY, LET ME HAVE A GO ON IT,"
Hermione again interrupted them, saying "For Merlin's sake, will you two shut up? I am trying to send a message here! Neville, can you please just shut them up? People will think that we are crazy!"
Sirius sniggered. "No way. I love these people."
Hermione laughed. The shouting seemed to end. Then they heard another dreamy voice say "Thank you, Sirius. I apologize for my friend's behaviour. They must have been affected by the nargles." Hermione says, "Yes Luna, thank you for that wonderful information. Anyway, where was I? Oh, yes, Mrs Weasley, those hooligans shouting in the background are your children." She answered the unasked question much to Mrs Weasley's delight.
"Now, we are about to send some people to your location. They are us from a bit before. I mean, us in the first year. So, here we go."
There was another flash, and six children appeared. They were very surprised and pulled out their wands.
"Aw, look guys, we were so young and innocent" Saying so, Hermione explained the situation to the kids.
Then, listening to the words, a little boy stepped forward and looked at James and Lily Potter. "Mum? Dad?" He whispered.
Lily and James Potter got out of their shock stood up, nodding and beaming.
His face broke into a smile as he ran forward and hugged his parents. Lily laughed and hugged her son tightly. James ruffled his hair. "He looks just like James, except for the eyes, he has your eyes, dear," Euphemia said to Lily, smiling.
They were broken out of their stupor by Hermione's voice gently saying "Neville, it's ok. You can go and hug your parents too."
A young boy, who looked innocent and scared grinned at her words and ran towards his parents. Alice and Frank Longbottom immediately stood up, ecstatic as they hugged their son.
The two redheaded kids also ran to their parents, who greeted them with delight.
Two more girls stood there, one had bushy hair and bright eyes, the other had blonde hair and a dreamy expression on her face. Hermione spoke up again, saying "Luna, you can go and sit wherever you want, but, little me, can you go and sit by Remus?"
Little Hermione looked startled at being addressed but did as she was asked. Remus smiled and patted the seat next to him.
Luna was still standing there on her own, so Euphemia beckoned her over to them. Luna smiled and went to sit with them, saying "Oh, thank you, most people do not like to sit by me, they say I am crazy, so I was wondering where I should sit."
Euphemia laughed and pulled the little girl onto her lap, saying "Well, they must be the mad ones, for how can anyone dislike such a charming little girl!"
Hermione said from above "Yes, we all love Luna. She is awesome. But, since, everyone is in their places, we are sending in the books."
As soon as she said that, seven heavy books fell from the ceiling hole and landed in the middle.
Professor Dumbledore went and picked up the book on the top of the stack.
