Attitude Adjustment

"Kensi! Don't you dare!" Deeks yelled, watching Kensi run back into the building where the bomb squad was trying desperately to diffuse a bomb. "Kensi! Get back out here!"

Kensi ignored him, running into the unstable building. Deeks shifted from foot to foot, trying to decide wether or not to run back into the building to drag his partner out by her ear. He ran towards a member of the bomb squad who was outside, communicating to him the situation.

He nodded grimly and told the squad inside the building about Deeks' crazy girlfriend.

Deeks frowned, watching the building with worried eyes. A few seconds later, out came the bomb squad, two of the members carrying the defused bomb. Kensi was behind them, looking unharmed from what Deeks could see. He ran towards her, skirting around the bomb squad, grasping Kensi by the shoulders.

"What were you thinking?!" he exclaimed, shaking her. "You could have been killed! Didn't you hear me yelling?"

"A woman told me she couldn't find her kid!" Kensi protested.

"Did you even think to check with LAPD? They had all the people from the building out of there! And you should have told the bomb squad instead! Not run into a building that's wired to explode!"

Kensi frowned, pulling away from Deeks. Sam and Callen ran to their sides, expressions slightly frantic.

"Kensi! Do you understand how dangerous that was?" Callen exclaimed, holding up his hands.

"Guys, the bomb didn't go off! And it wasn't ever going to! The bomb squad had it under control!"

"You don't know that! That bomb could have gone off, and then you would have been dead!" Deeks shouted. "I can't lose you, Kensi!"

"Deeks! I'm fine!" Kensi shouted back at him.

Deeks grabbed her arm and spun her to the side, landing two hard smacks to her bottom. Kensi yipped, glaring at him as her ears turned bright red.

"Deeks!" she hissed, side-eyeing Callen and Sam.

"They don't care! They probably want to do the same thing!" Deeks countered. "Get in the car. We're going home to have a talk. You are in need of a major attitude adjustment," Deeks said, jerking his chin towards the Cadillac. Kensi tilted her chin up, defiant. "Go," Deeks said in a low voice. Kensi did, walking stiffly to the car.

"Guys, I've gotta go take care of this..." Deeks trailed off.

"Go, Deeks, we've got this," Sam said, clapping him on the shoulder before walking off with Callen. Deeks sighed, and walked towards the car.

...

Kensi seethed on the way home, angry at Deeks for thinking she had risked her life, and also nervous for what she knew would be a rather serious spanking. As much as the both of them hated the form of discipline, they had both agreed that it was the quickest and most effective way to get the point across, for either one of them, and was the form that worked best for their personalities. Didn't mean she liked it any better though.

She wasn't afraid of Deeks, or the spanking, she had no reason to be. Deeks was nothing but gentle and kind, and, dare she admit it, having to spank her hurt him more emotionally than it hurt her physically. She was just nervous because she knew that soon she would be in a whole lot of pain.

Deeks was no longer angry, having calmed down enough to get a clear head. He would never, ever spank Kensi in anger, for that would be abuse, in his eyes. He would never turn to the ways of his father. He would always wait until he was perfectly calm to dish out discipline, even if that took an entire week. (It had never come to that.) And now she'd gone and done something dumb again, and didn't see the danger behind it. Deeks hated spanking her, hated it, but that was what they had agreed on, and now was what needed to be done.

He took a deep breath. It would be all over soon, and everything could go back to normal. The one thing Deeks liked about spankings, or rather, after spankings, was the snuggle sessions afterward. Kensi was always very clingy afterwards, just needing someone to hold her. Deeks loved that bit, the comfort.

He pulled into the driveway, taking a deep breath as he shut off the ignition and popped his seatbelt.

Deeks led Kensi into the house, maintaining a gentle but firm grip on Kensi's upper arm. He paused in the kitchen, rummaging around in a drawer for a wooden spoon. Kensi sighed, giving him puppy eyes as he shut the drawer with his hip.

"Oh no, don't give me that look," Deeks said. "You've earned this."

Kensi stuck her lip out in a pout, going full puppy mode as she shuffled beside Deeks into the living room. Kensi hated the spoon. Deeks sat down on the edge of the couch, setting the spoon beside him before positioning Kensi so she was standing between his knees, taking hold of her wrists in his hands.

"Kensi, why are you getting this spanking?" Deeks asked, looking up at her. Kensi scowled as she looked down, focusing on heeling her boots off without using her hands rather than on Deeks' face. "Look at me," Deeks said in a warning tone. Kensi drug her eyes up to meet his, staring defiantly. Her previous idea of remaining docile, in puppy mode, disappeared, a fiery spark of anger taking it's place when Deeks asked that stupid question.

"We're gonna do this now?" she asked, annoyed.

"Yeah, we are," Deeks snapped, tightening his grip on her wrists. "So tell me, why are you getting this spanking?"

Kensi sighed heavily before answering. "Because I needlessly risked my life in a dangerous situation," she said as if she'd rehearsed the line, flat and with no emotion.

"That's right," Deeks said, rubbing his hands up and down her arms gently. "I love you, and I don't want to see you get hurt, alright?"

Kensi nodded as Deeks unbuckled her belt and unbuttoned her jeans.

"You also need an attitude adjustment. Your attitude towards this whole situation is appalling, Kensi."

Kensi snorted, refusing to say anything.

"Let's get this over with." Deeks guided Kensi around to his side and over his lap, quickly tugging her jeans down to her knees, deciding to leave her black panties up for the time being. Deeks let the first swat and the second fall in rapid succession. Kensi sucked in a breath, holding it as Deeks let swats three and four fall.

Tears sprung to her eyes. The swats hadn't been that hard, but she always started crying earlier when Deeks disciplined her. It was one thing to let Hetty down, but to let Deeks down? That was just so much worse on so many levels.

Deeks continued to pepper her backside with swats, starting at the top, working his way methodically down to her sit spots. Kensi whimpered, but managed to hold in her cries for a few more moments. Deeks completed another top to bottom round before deciding her warmup was over, hooking his fingers in the waistband of her panties and tugging them to join her jeans.

"No!" Kensi protested, thrashing in his grip.

"You don't get to tell me no, little girl," he said as he reached for the spoon resting beside his thigh, sighing heavily. He really didn't want to have to do this, but he couldn't think of any other way to get his point across. Not one that would resonate with his girlfriend, anyway. He steeled himself as he adjusted his grip on the spoon and touched it to Kensi's bottom, which had turned a pinky color from the warmup a few seconds before.

"Ready for this?" he asked, more to himself than Kensi.

Kensi whimpered as she felt the cool wood of the spoon touch her warm backside, but nodded into her arms, which she had buried her face into. Deeks brought the spoon down with a snap of his wrist, and Kensi started crying.

Deeks steeled himself against her cries and focused his swats on Kensi's sit spots and thighs, snapping the spoon in a rhythmic manner. Kensi squealed, kicking her feet and thrashing in his grip.

"Hold still," Deeks said through gritted teeth, tightening his grip around her waist. Kensi picked her head up and glared at him, and Deeks returned the look. Kensi hid her face again, crying angrily into her sleeves.

Deeks frowned, knowing she would forgive him once he had finished. He brought the spoon down again, rapidly turning her pink bottom a shade of dark red. Deeks was focusing more on her sit spots and thighs, aiming the spoon right where she would feel it most for likely a few days after the fact.

Kensi kicked again, feet flying up in the air as she thrashed again.

"Kensi!" Deeks snapped, shifting her forward so he could pull his leg out from under her and clamp it over her legs.

"It hurts!" Kensi cried, trying to struggle out of his hold.

"I know it does. It's supposed to. But I need you to stay still. I don't want to accidentally hurt you permanently. Settle down and try to relax." Deeks said sympathetically, setting the spoon down for a moment, rubbing her back with the other hand. Kensi relaxed a fraction, so he picked up the spoon again, landing several swats in rapid succession to the backs of her thighs.

Kensi cried into her arms, shoulders shaking as Deeks continued his swift reprimand with quick stinging smacks. Finally, finally, after many more swats, Kensi stopped fighting, going limp over his knee, her only movement the shaking of her shoulders. Deeks tossed the spoon to the floor as soon as she relaxed, ending her spanking right then and there.

He rubbed up and down her back as Kensi hiccuped, trying to regain her composure. Deeks reached down and pulled her panties back up over her bright red bottom, cringing at her groan of pain. Her jeans were lying forgotten on the floor, having been thrown off during Kensi's kicking.

Deeks allowed her to stand up, releasing her trapped legs. He pulled her down again to his lap, this time sitting upright, her heated backside resting between his knees. He held her against his chest, one hand wrapped around her middle, the other one against her ear, tucking her head under his chin.

"I'm sorry," Kensi said between whimpers, nuzzling her face into his shirt.

"I know," Deeks murmured. "Why do you make me do this, huh?" he asked gently, tilting her chin up with a couple fingers. He kissed her forehead affectionately.

"Gotta keep you on your toes?" she offered, the smallest hint of a smile playing at her lips.

"Oh, is that it?" Deeks asked, smiling and patting her bottom lightly. Though it stung a little, Kensi found the gesture comforting. She whimpered a little, the days events and her exhaustion finally catching up to her. "Shhh, shhh," Deeks soothed, rocking her gently back and forth.

Kensi snuffled into his chest, closing her eyes. Deeks leaned back against the couch with a sigh, smiling as Kensi drew her feet up, curling into the fetal position on his lap. She clutched a hand in his shirt, letting out an exhausted sigh.

"Kens? You wanna go get dinner or something? Take Monty for a walk on the beach?" Deeks asked with a grin, knowing full well what the answer would be. "Hmm?"

"Noooo," Kensi whined, nuzzling her face into his chest with a snuffle. Deeks laughed a little, smiling down at her. Deeks held still until Kensi fell asleep, breaths rising and falling evenly. Deeks then reached into his back pocket, withdrawing his phone, seeing a text from Callen.

How is she? it read. Deeks grinned, quickly snapping a photo of his girlfriend sleeping on his chest.

She's fine. he sent back, attaching the picture. He tossed his phone onto the couch beside him, leaning his head against the back of the couch. He stroked Kensi's hair, brushing stray curls from her eyes. Kensi drew in a quick breath, and Deeks patted her leg.

"You're fine," Deeks murmured. "You're fine."

Kensi relaxed, snuffling a little. Deeks held her as she finally fell into the deep sleep she needed.

...

So I'm back to being mean to Kensi. I hope you enjoyed this. I'm also hoping to do a Sam, Callen, and Hetty fic soon, if anyone had any input/prompts regarding that, I would love them. Thanks!
