Jyesella Dellaeon

Birth through just before Order 66

Born to a Human family, Jyesella Dellaeon was taken away as a baby to become a Jedi. She became a Jedi Master and Temple dual wielding lightsaber instructor a while before the start of the Clone Wars. On a mission just before the start of the Clone Wars, she fell to the dark side and was recaptured by a Jedi strike team sent out to stop her. The Jedi Council locked her up, in a cell under the Jedi Temple and expelled her from the Order. While locked up, she came back to the light side.

Order 66

Amid the chaos of Order 66, the guards ran off to all go check the Temple defenses against the attacking 501st, led by Darth Vader. Unknown to everyone, Jyesella escaped, and helped defend the Jedi temple's left side entrance. She ended up taking the lightsabers of a young dead Knight to use to help defend the Temple. She defended the Temple and fought Darth Vader in an attempt to hold him off so the other Jedi could evacuate.

Lightsaber skills

Jyesella Dellaeon was known to use Form Three, Soresu and Form Six, Niman, adapted for Jar'Kai, so she could wield two lightsabers. She also taught the basics of dual blade lightsaber combat to countless padawans and younglings over the years, including Ahsoka Tano, and Anakin Skywalker. Even though she was out of practice, she managed to survive fighting suit less Darth Vader, though nearly dying in an attempt to hold him off.

Behind the scenes

This character was originally going to be Barriss Offee, in Redemption of the Fallen. This was changed, as Jedi Knight Leia Skywalker wanted

1. Someone who's darker deeds were farther in the past, as the Temple Bombing arc is in 19 BBY, same as Revenge of the Sith, (and Order 66). This makes it easier for the Jedi to accept that she's come back to the light.

2. A higher-level Jedi, as you guys all remember Shatterpoint with (Spoiler Alert: Dark!Depa).

3. To not have to use the whole explanation that was used in the Jedi Return. Yes, it made sense then, (At least to me, as it's never made sense to me, at least not without the workaround I came up with, or other author's workarounds.)

4. To fill the semi-plot hole of Anakin dual wielding in his first dual against Dooku
