AN/ NEW STORY ON POKEMON. AND FEEL FREE TO REVIEW OR POINT ABOUT ANY MISTAKES. AND IM WORST AT PRONOUCING.
About night time, 6:54pm exact, air Kanto landed two hours delayed due to the horrible climate back in the kalos region. Heavy rain constantly a month ever since the whole Zygarde thing. Well the league went quite undisturbed luckily without rain delaying it.
There was this silence just as he and his partner left the airport, neither of them happy to be away from Greninja and Goodra including their traveling companions. Bonnie, Clemont and finally the female who gave a kiss on lips first time in his life, Serena and all of their Pokemon will dearly be missed.
As they walking, decided to stay at the Pokemon center for a night before going home. Well, it's not a wise decision to travel and through dark, knowing all those stories of young trainers go missing in these Woods. A dark truth of the Pokemon world. Either you befriend them or they will do what they supposed to do. Many Pokemon have the dark past, and according to pokedex there is hundreds of unusual cases among the being. Just straight up horror, if one hear a story behind Pokemon.
"This place didn't change a bit, huh?" He said looking around the Viridian forest, which the mouse agreed. Ash realized something is off about Pikachu. Ever since the lose at finals, he looked depressed a little and what more broke him was their friends seperating. However Ash had little no clue of what's up with his partner.
Due to the night time, there was no Pokemon around, unless some prankster ghost type decide to show up. It's not like Ash doesn't know ghost types are rare here, but it's forest after all, anything is possible.
"Pika" Pikachu pointed at front signaling their arrival at Viridian city, in a tired voice.
"I know. I really miss a comfy mattress to be honest. But gonna follow routine of dinner first." Ash happily chirped. To show the disagreement, Ash felt his Pikachu slumping on his shoulder. Picking the yellow rodent, Ash hugged him closer offering a soothing warmth and he drifted into sleep completely.
The sight of the mouse, Ash as well let out an audible yawn waking up a little Caterpie on the tree. Walking to the entrance of the city, some people recognized him as the Kalos league finalist who sadly couldn't win but they respect the fact that he reached all the way to the top and almost won, which wasn't every trainer capable of doing. Some greeted him, while some waved a hai. He can't believe they are his fans as well. That's enough to encourage him more.
Reaching the Pokemon centre, he noticed there were no people more than handful including a cute looking Chansey at the counter, slowly whistling a sweet tune.
As if on yesterday she saw him, a friendly wave he received that he also returned. "You do remember me, don't you?" Chansey nodded. Chansey motioned him to continue.
"I was wondering where's nurse Joy is. Can you please call her for me, Chansey?"
"Chansey, chans." The fairy ran back to the room behind her probably, Nurse Joy aiding Pokemon for sure.
As he was waiting, he heard footsteps coming closer to him, first he avoided but he was sure that person halted right behind him, soon followed by a light tap on his shoulder.
Upon turning back, a familiar blue head stood there, smiling at him. He felt his eyes widening and all of a sudden she hugged him sandwiching Pikachu in the process. "Piplup." A certain blue Pokemon was jumping in excitement on the back.
"Dawn..? DAWN!" Ash exclaimed returning the hug.
"Ash, oh my I really missed you?" She muttered at her 'sensei', well kinda.
"Me to-" They both cut off as they heard familiar annoyed growl in the form of Pikachu. Well they're screwed. They really hugged too tightly that they didn't notice the rodent was being crushed in the middle. Poor water type, who didn't do anything also had to face the wrath of his old friend. A high volt shock devoured all three of them as they screamed at top of they lungs as they could feel the electricity reaching all the way to the their bones. This time though, our heroes had to get a little too much sparked and after couple second Pikachu stopped and let a sigh of satisfaction, clapping his hands dramatically to get rid of the imaginary dust.
"..Well ... that's was... shocking..to see you." Ash' sarcastic statement really did make sense but he was hoping for a different kind of shock.
"Shocking..indeed." she agreed.
"Oh my.." they heard a feminine concerned voice. Three pair of heads looked at the woman who sweatdropped. "You okay?" She questioned.
Ash was the one to respond first showing a thumb up. "Never felt so awake." He said feeling his sleep vanished out of blue. Dawn agreed again.
"Not all of you." She points to a blue Pokemon out cold on the ground.
"Pika?" Pikachu panicked guilty of what he did. Dawn rushed to him and picked up the Pokemon who has a stupid grin even after passing out.
"Don't worry, give it here, I'll heal it for you." Nurse Joy offered.
"Thank you." Dawn thanked.
"It's my job after all. No thank you'." Joy said handing over a key to a room which neither of them asked.
"How you-" Ash cut off.
"Well, it's obvious you are looking for a room. Well piplup also need rest." Joy explained.
"Oh." Ash mumbled.
Ash and Dawn reached their room soon after piplup was sent with Nurse Joy, both tired as hell. "So, how come you in Kanto for?" Ash asked sitting down on the king size bed and that's the only bed there is.
"Why? I'm traveling, that's all." Dawn lied. She went straight to the bathroom next to change.
"In Viridian? Well then you're the wrong way traveling to be honest." Ash asked out loud not buying her answer.
"Yeah, wrong way. Got it."
*Sigh*"Seriously asking. Stop lying." Ash demanded, really curious.
He didn't get an answer but shrugged it, avoiding another possible argument. Pikachu took a part of the pillow, curl up in a ball sleeping the next minute. Ash who saw his buddy sleeping, decided to sleep as well. He left a big part of the bed for dawn, not wanting to snuggle up into one another.
_
Ash's eyes flickered open to a dark void around him and that was my the most blank place he ever in his life saw. Looking around after he sat down, he couldn't find anything. He can't even feel the ground he was laying, just like he's floating somehow. Ash took a deep breath that wasn't much as what he gasped in. How much harder he breath, the less air he was getting. A pain soon followed in the deepest part of his heart, that was building rapidly faster. Sweat started to engulfing his struggling body even after the place soon get colder and colder, as if he's in a north pole. North pole have a common core thing in form of pure white snow.
WHITE. WHITE. YES, he saw a big white spot on the further side of the void, hinting a possible exit. But Ash could see some movements in the said white spot. Possibly civilization, maybe Pokemon. Little did he know there is both.
"Hello?" He croaked due to lack of oxygen he received, then with shaky legs he stood moving forward. Like an eternity, he took a long time but still he was nowhere near the half way. He tried to run causing him to fall down. "HEY! HELP." Ash shouted which was barely even audible.
He stared at the white spot longingly. Each second he stared at it only for it to come closer and closer. It stopped at a mere feet away and he covered his eyes because it's brightness. He slowly rubbed his eyes and slowly got adjusted to the pure whiteness. He saw then what was the light hiding all the while and to his surprise, there stood talking, was his traveling companions, his mother and professor Oak and all his Pokemon including his Kalos ones and Pikachu. They seemed to be talking and laughing at whatever other was saying. He can't hear them but can see them. That longing feeling turned into happiness as he dragged himself to the white spot. As he tried to touch it he felt there was an invisible barrier blocking the way. "What the.." he muttered confused. He tapped the barrier soon to be calling them which neither of them noticed.
"MOM!GUYS? HEY!" He shouts louder banging his fist in it again and again feeling the intense pain in his right arm. Was it worth trying? No. They didn't even heard him. After all of that. They just keep talking with one another and like a lost ghost he sat there, both hands and his forehead resting against the wall, not sure what make them look at him. And was hoping to them see him sitting there and help him out of the hell hole that he's trapped in. But no avail so far.
And then he started to panic. They were giving a wave of hand then one by one or they started to run further into the white nothingness disappearing once and for all. Misty, Brock, May, Oak, Max, Serena and all his other friends followed by his Pokemon except Delia and Pikachu. Ash noticed them looking around. And felt sigh of relief leaving his mouth. What if they are looking for him? Hopefully.
"MOM! PIKACHU!HERE BEHIND YOU! HEY!" He screamed at the top of his lungs but they still didn't heard him literally damaging his voice box. Pikachu sniffed around for a bit but he suddenly ran into the way others went and Delia ran to catch Pikachu only to dessappear like the rest. Tear fell as he started to panic and bang his hands into the barrier. "NOO, NO NO.. PLEASE COME BACK! HEEEY!MOM.. PIKACHU" He cried out loud.
_
"ASH." Dawn shouted desperately trying to wake up her friend who was mumbling and screaming nonsense while banging his hands into the hard concrete wall.
"Pika pi." Pikachu shouts as well a bit concerned about his trainer' unusual behavior but also mad to disturb his sleep. The yellow mouse changed and was so edgy and mad all the time.
But he ran out of patience and electrocuted Ash who started up screaming in fear and pain. As Pikachu stopped the treatment, Dawn was the first to get on Ash' sweaty face demanding for an answer if he's alright or not.
"It's okay. I'm fine now." He said once he was brought back to senses by force. Well that nightmare was new. He never had nightmares actually, unless he's in heap of trouble.
"Nightmare, huh?"
"Yeah. Just don't mind. Also sorry for I wake you up." He apologized.
"It's already 6:30, I was already up anyways." Dawn replied getting off the bed and adjust her normal outfit. Ash didn't even feel like he slept a night, honestly he could tell the tiredness by the heavy eyes. With yawn he dragged him out of bed knowing he need to take a quick shower before the departure. He can't waste much time anyways. "Whoa, thinkin you'll go back to sleep but... nevermind." Dawn spoke first time ever seeing him up before the sun does.
"Nah, I prefer a shower over a bed I think." Ash mumbled getting in the bathroom.
Ash was already on the way to pallet slightly cautious of surroundings remembering the time he ran into a Spearoe hoard and first time meeting a low tempered redhead. Those were the memories he'll cherish forever. And speaking of caution, he felt like being followed and he turned back to see a blue head behind a bush at a poor effort to avoid detection.
"You have to do better than that Dawn." Ash said amused smirking at his friend.
"Oh c'mon, you were suppose to be keeping your head straight for dear Arceus' sake." Dawn groaned walking out of the bush pouting. He just ruined her well planned surprise.
"Can't help it if you keep making sounds, you know." Ash said walking towards the hill facing the town of pallet. All of a sudden, Dawn saw him running at full speed and cursed, running after a certain trainer she gets really annoyed at. She wasn't the enthusiastic one so she was far behind Ash who already ran down the hill, halted outside his house then waved at her.
"Warn me next time, got it?" She shouted catching up with him who smile awkwardly before opening the door, welcoming her.
"I'M HOME." He announced.
"Ash, oh my boy." Delia lovingly said coming out of the kitchen, giving him a tight hug. "Where were you yesterday? Got me worried and all." Delia scolded.
"Flight got delayed. We're at Pokemon centre last night. Sorry." He said pointing at both him Dawn who gave cute smile.
"Ah, Dawn I thought you'll be able to make it two days ago." Delia said confusing Ash who gave questioning look.
"I overslept and I missed the first flight so I had to wait another eight hours." Dawn explained scratching her head embarrassed.
"No sweat, you made it time I see." Delia assured her, fueling Ash's confusion further more.
"Am I missing something?" Ash asked unsure of what's going on.
"So, I have to no longer keep the surprise I see." Delia told to no one in particular. Dawn nodded either way.
"Surprise? What surprise?" He said curiously.
"Haha, guess what?"
"What?"
"You know Momma love to cook right?" Ash nodded agreeing. "As a hobby, Momma opened a nice beautiful restaurant at the lake side near Prof Oak's lab. Isn't that great?" She yelled excited.
"Wow, mom that's great." Ash and Pikachu showed just as excitement.
"And you'll be the accountant, honey." Delia said energetically.
"Ye-...wait what?" He asked.
"Oh c'mon in everyone's here." Delia chirped going back inside.
Well there was everyone, his traveling party and his former rivals even Serena Clemont and bonnie.
He was surprised to see everyone made it this far to the opening of Delia's restaurant opening. _
Ash got back from Oak' lab after he released all his Pokemon there. All his friends and his mother was watching TV and they greeted him one by one. But something was odd. They all looked uneasy and different which Ash easily could pick up by the way they talked and looked at each other. He decided to ask that. Curios kill the cat, by the time he spoke the whole room went silent and they nodded each other. "So Ash, tomorrow morning, we'll conduct the opening, so all you have to do is simple, okay?" Delia is the first one to break the silence. Ash raised a brow, nodding at his mother to continue.
"You are incharge of managing the counter and assist or deal with the customer payment. And it may be uncomfortable but you'll be make it overtime." Delia explained.
"Okay, I'll be staying a week anyways." Ash replied. "I managed to look around and I found a region to start with." Ash said excited but he noticed they don't look happy.
"Your mother needs help around, so you have to cancel another adventure of yours." Misty said and everyone nodded.
"I don't get it, you guys." Ash said.
"Look Ash, honey we've been separated for a while aside from the time you returned home after exploring a region and why don't we do something that benefit both you and us?" Delia remembered how less time she had with him since he was 10. "The restaurant for example. Many tourists these days attend Prof Oak's monthly education camp, and he suggested a better ways to have more money and live without any problems. And Momma needs you to stay as long as we can run it. For greater life." Delia said reminding him of the perks that comes with it.
"But I want a do something other than this. I don't know why you thought this was a good idea and we can easily find assassin's for you whenever you need." Ash pointed out.
"Then what my son wants to do, your mother asks?" Delia was annoyed and serious when she said those words.
"Becoming a Pokemon Master. You know that already." Ash replied sounding hurt.
"How you gonna do it Ash? How?" Iris, the annoying companion of his questioned rudely interrupting Delia.
"By losing a tournament league?" Paul added another question.
"Ash, why don't you realise that you can't do anything in the world but to accept and move on and lastly do something that's possible. Running a diner, some of the best jobs a person can find. Just think different. A key to success, I say." Brock the wise one spoke.
"Yes, Brock is a walking example. He dreamed of be a breeder who can travel and offer services. What he became is a nurse at the end." Cilan encouraged other' decision.
"I'm Ash, Cilan. Not Brock. I never betray myself by leaving something I deeply care of. Even if I can't be a Pokemon Master overnight, I still have a lifetime. Just have to be more experienced." Ash snapped causing others to snap at him.
"What did you accomplished so far in the past year, huh? Name us one." May demanded agitated.
"A name. People knows my name." Ash shouted back.
"How come you so sure of yourself?" Dawn snapped surprising him. Boy he mistook her intentions of almost 24 hour they spend together. She was not like he thought her to be like.
"You think that name may feed you later?" They all asked each with their own version of saying it. But he realized one thing.
"I get it. It's about the league, is it? Indirectly you're aiming the loses i gone through at the league. You don't believe me anymore." He shouts through gritting teeth.
"What's so wrong of us disbelieving you?"
"You didn't do anything to prove it."
"Not in our knowledge."
"I WAS AT THE FINALS THAT NONE OF YOU EVER REACH." Ash screamed at them only for a hand to crash on his left cheek burning that part, as he looked at the person who did that, his eyes blurred. "OKAY! YOU WIN. YOU WIN." Delia and others was stunned to see him sprinting upstairs followed by a loud thud.
Delia stared at her hand not believing she slapped him. But she just wants the good of him. At least she thinks that way.
_
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEE- and the then the alarm clock shattered into pieces because of the force it hit the wall.
There, sitting on the bed was Ash who looked a mess. He was sweating and sleepy. Dark spots under eyes and dried tears sticking all over his face. His eyes never left the ground and he finally stood up.
He can't scrap all the dreams he build in the imaginary world of his own. He pictured him as a champion, a master of Pokemon, a legend. And now his loved ones he cared for told him to forget and be someone he isn't. He even noticed them smiling at him just before he ran upstairs and also the yellow rodent didn't even care for to comfort him. It just came and slept snoring as Ash was crying.
Ash now know why Pikachu acted so distant. It makes sense now. Pikachu thinks the same way others do.
Ash came up with some choices. One is to go for it and win or stay here and lose. Lose to all of them who thinks he's worthless and hopeless. He had to show them they are wrong.
He walked downstairs towards the bathroom only to find the the house was empty. Everyone's left. As he was looking around he found a not on table which he hesitantly took. It's a short note for him.
'We'll see you at Prof Oak's lab. Be sure there when you're up'
He crumbled the paper throwing it away and that was the last he could handle. They'll never let him go even if he beg them to and he had only one option left. He'll make them realise how much they hurt him asking for give up on the dreams and for them he's a joke.
He'll be out of the place and Ash never going to look back until he wins. They'll be sorry.
After a quick shower he was packed everything and he didn't bother to wake up Pikachu knowing he won't be getting anywhere with it. Pikachu don't care then why would he care. But Ash wasn't happy to leave him. He still have a place for the yellow rodent, in his heart.
"Pika." Ash didn't notice it awake and Ash swung his backpack over his shoulders and asked.
"Hey, Pikachu I know you are mad but I still have to ask your opinion. Will you come with me? We'll be better this time and do whatever you ask." Ash said desperately, holding out his hands.
"Pika, pi. Pikachu pika." Pikachu shouts flailing it's arms, a way of communicating with Ash. Nobody understands Pikachu better than him.
"It's not worth it you say?" Ash asked agitated and Pikachu's cheek have sparks while it showed the anger it feeling.
"What about the adventures we had? After everything we gone through?" Ash' eye watered but Pikachu turned it's head away and Ash lost it. Like wind he was gone the next minute.
