Hello everyone!

This is a special Mother's Day letter for my mother, since I cannot be home in person to give her a card or a present. She has supported me throughout my writing, encouraging me to be creative, so I thought it would be fitting to immortalize her on this site.

Mom... this is for you. [And also please forgive me; I'm not a very good poet].

To My Mom

I know it's cliché, to praise how much you do for me.

From sticking by my side when no one else would,

Or helping me out whenever you could.

I know that you always have and will be

The best mother that I could ask for.

[][][]

But I don't mind clichés; the word's a good fit.

You are amazing, loving and kind,

You're not afraid to speak your mind,

And you don't let anyone give you any sh… crap.

What more could a grateful son ask for?

[][][]

Even the little things you do;

From meals, and laundry, and keeping our family in order,

For making sure I washed behind my ears [to avoid an odor].

Honestly, you're the best! And get me through

Each and every day with a smile and sage advice. But what is it for?

[][][]

You do not get paid for any of this.

You do so much for our family

And only one day a year do you finally

Get the respect and recognition you deserve. I miss

You and wish that I could do more on this day for

you.

[][][]

Though I am not home right now to tell you this in person…

But know that I love you so very much,

And that I cannot hug you and feel your loving touch,

The only touch a mother can give.

The one that tells me…

… it's going to be okay.

[][][]

So thank you mom, for all you do.

And know forever that

I love you.

Happy Mother's Day to mothers everywhere! Whether you are still with us or somewhere else, we thank you for your love and sacrifice.

I love you, mom.

Your loving son,

Joseph
