Author's Note: Hello, guys! Here is a Finding Nemo one-shot. I couldn't think of any ideas for any of my fanfics from this movie, but I think I made it up already now, hehe... But, anyway, the story is a prequel to my kind of old story Meant for Each Other and takes place before the fish have kids (my OC's).

It was a beautiful morning in the Great Barrier Reef. The Tank Gang were sound asleep in their den.

Gill and Peach were sound asleep together. Peach was getting her back massaged by the left fin of Gill, who snored softly while in beauty sleep. Around their bedside, Bubbles along with Deb, usually best friends, Gurgle, Bloat and Jacques were asleep as well.

"My bubbles..." Bubbles said softly in his sleep, muttering after a quiet snore.

On the other hand, Deb was humming in her sleep, as if she dreamed of becoming a talented vocalist.

*~(Flashback)~*

When Deb was a little 9-year-old girl, she was gonna perform at her class's talent show at school. Deb's teacher called her to be the first performer.

When Deb trembled with anxiety, her parents and twin sister Flo, at her same age, were watching with awe and support. Deb took a deep breath, and began her vocals. Once it was starting to get better, her family, classmates and teacher, including the talent show manager were awed with Deb's vocals. At the end of her talent, everyone cheered for joy.

Deb's parents were proud of her; Flo was more thrilled and excited for her twin sister. Deb blushed with gratitude, as the others all chanted,

"Deb! Deb! Deb!"

As Deb slowly stirred up after a hum, she yawned quietly, stretching her fins and tail. Once Deb turned to Bubbles, who was awake with a smile, she blushed. With comfort, Bubbles chuckled as he said,

"Hey, Deb, I didn't know you can sing."

Deb chuckled with embarrassement and replied,

"How do you know?"

"Bubbles heard you," Bloat responded as he was also awake, with Gurgle feeling awed at that.

"Your vocals are as beautiful as an angel," Gurgle added.

Deb blushed again, and said,

"Thanks! When I was a little girl, I've wanted to be a singer. My parents, and even my sister Flo, would love this all."

But then, she hung her head low. As Bubbles reassured her in his fins, she continued,

"Flo... should've stayed with us, since I wish she could be anywhere."

"Deb, Flo isn't here. I know you wanted her to be real, but it's only your reflection while looking at yourself," Bubbles added.

As Peach was heard awake, she stretched her starfish limbs and and peaked through the edge of the bedside where she and Gill sleep in. With a smile, Peach told Deb,

"Good morning, Deb, honey!"

"Oh, good morning, Peach!" Deb replied with a smile as well.

"I heard your angel's singing voice, and it touched my heart," Peach said as she chuckled.

Hearing these words, Jacques stirred up slowly as he stretched his arms, legs, rubbed his eyes, and even organized his mustache.

"Bonjour," Jacques told everyone,

"Did I forget to mention that Deb has a talent?"

"Yep! That's her singing voice," Bloat said mannerly.

"Voiced like an angel," Gurgle added as he put his fins on his chest.

Deb blushed and chuckled sweetly.

"Well, then, time to go see Sharkbait!" Bloat announced.

Peach, Gurgle, Jacques, Bubbles and Deb cheered as they got themselves cleaned up. But suddenly, Deb froze as she cried out,

"WAIT!"

Peach, Gurgle, Jacques, Bubbles and Bloat stopped in confusion.

"Why isn't Gill awake?" Deb asked as she pointed her fin to Gill, who was still sound asleep.

"Well, it's just terrific! Does Gill always have sleep in?!" Bubbles groaned with annoyance.

"I thought Gill was the first one awake!" Gurgle chimed in with a facepalm.

"No worries, I'll wake Gill up. I already got evidence why," Deb added as she swam over to their sleeping leader.

"She'll catch up. Come on, guys, Nemo is waiting!" Bubbles told everyone and led them to have breakfast ready, but not until Deb finally made it with Gill on time, so that they would get to see Nemo.

Meanwhile...

Nemo and Marlin were sound asleep in their sea anemone; Dory was sound asleep in her home as well, talking a little bit between snores.

Moaning, Nemo stirred up, and yawned as he woke up. With a giggle, Nemo nudged his father, who woke up with a chuckle.

"Good morning, Nemo," Marlin said.

"Morning, dad! I was wondering if we could see the Tank Gang again!" Nemo responded cheerfully.

"Oh, sure! Good idea, but let's wake Dory up and have breakfast first," Marlin said.

Nemo nodded. Then, the two clownfish swam over to Dory and eventually woke her up. As Dory yawned, she cheerfully said,

"Good morning, Nemo and Marlin! How did you sleep?"

"It went well, how about you?" Marlin replied.

"Mine went the same," Dory added.

Then, the three began to have breakfast. After that, they began their trip to the Tank Gang's den.

Once the three made it there, they spot Bubbles, Peach, Gurgle, Bloat and Jacques out front together.

"Heya, Nemo!" Bubbles said.

"Hi, guys!" Nemo added excitedly.

"Hi, honeys! How's it going for you guys?" Peach demanded.

"It was pretty good, Peach," Marlin replied,

"Anyway, what are you up to?"

"We realized that Deb has a vocal talent," Gurgle responds.

Nemo, Marlin and Dory felt awed and said in unison,

"Wow!"

"There's also gonna be a party during a concert planned by Gill to your other friends," Bloat chimed in.

"Oui," Jacques spoke in French as he agreed.

"Ooh, I love party and concert! That sounds like fun!" Dory said cheerfully.

"Sorry I'm late," Deb called in as she came with Gill, who sleepily yawned and rubbed his eyes.

"Oh, hi, Gill!" Nemo said.

"Why, hello there, Sharkbait! Do you get the news Deb was gonna perform live tonight?" Gill replied.

Nemo nodded cheerfully, as Marlin and Dory looked at Deb, who blushed a bit.

"Hey, Deb! We notice that you are good at singing," Marlin said.

"Wow, yes! I've been wanting to be a singer since I was a kid. Learned that from my twin sister Flo," Deb chuckled.

"You are good at it! I used to do the same thing with my family," Dory replied sweetly.

"Well, what did you sing, Dory?" Gill asked.

"Just Keep Swimming," Dory said as she blushed at that question.

"Oh!" the Tank Gang said in unison.

"Yep, now that tune's stuck in my head," Marlin said as he felt low a bit.

Nemo reacted, and nuzzled him in a hug with a smile. Blushing, Marlin smiled and returned it.

Much, much later...

Marlin, Dory, Gill and Peach assist Bubbles while helping Deb learn her lines for her live concert, by reading with the song lyrics and memorizing them.

Gurgle, Bloat and Jacques were placing a grand piano onstage with a microphone stuck into it. Then, the three closed the stage curtains and began setting up tables for the food.

As Nemo spot Sheldon, Tad and Pearl playing, he went out to greet them.

"Hi, guys!" Nemo called.

"Hey, Nemo!" Sheldon, Tad and Pearl called back.

Then, the four swam to each other.

"Hey, I noticed that your friend from a fish tank was performing," Pearl said sweetly.

"Indeed! What's the singer's name?" Sheldon asked.

"Oh, the name is Deb. She, of course, is my friend from a fish tank," Nemo replied.

"Wow! How does Deb remember of being a singer?" Tad questioned.

Nemo sighed, as if he had enough of the questions asked by his friends, but surely answered,

"She told us that when Deb was a little girl, when she performs her vocals at a talent show in her school."

"Ooh!" Sheldon, Tad and Pearl said in unison.

Meanwhile in the backstage, Deb was trembling as she said,

"Oh, I'm terrified! I won't know the lyrics!"

Bubbles reassured her in a hug with his fins and replied,

"It's okay, Deb. We believe in you."

"We helped you out on memorizing the song lyrics while singing," Gill added.

"It'll be fine," Dory chimed in agreement.

"Yes! No one will ever hate you if you know how to sing those lines," Peach agreed.

"Um, excuse me, Deb, you're on in 10 seconds!" Deb's manager, who was a male discus fish.

Deb nodded, but turned herself to her friends. Dory, Gill, Peach and Bubbles smiled. As Bubbles gave Deb a nudge and hug one last time, he and the others and motioned her to give it a best shot. Deb nodded again while blushing, and surely swam onstage.

Marlin was onstage, with the stage curtain closed behind him, so that when it opens, Deb would perform for the audience.

"Good evening, everyone! Welcome to the opening night of the party's music festival. Now it is my great pleasure to introduce you to a friend of my son's," Marlin announced.

Dory was with Nemo, who squealed quietly with excitement, while Sheldon, Tad and Pearl are with them; the three kids' parents are with them as well, along with the other Tank Gang members, Gurgle, Bloat, Jacques, Gill, Bubbles and Peach, who came from backstage.

"...Deb!" Marlin announced, and swam offstage, going back to Nemo, Dory, the other Tank Gang members.

Everyone cheered, as the curtains opened. The spotlight shone on Deb, who blushed. She was next to the piano, which will be played by.

"This song may be familiar, but yet, it's totally different. Kind of like me. Anyway, this will be a very special surprise for my comforting friend," Deb announced to everyone.

As she gestured to Bubbles, he blushed with a smile. Nemo, Marlin, Dory, Gill and the other Tank Gang members chuckled quietly.

When the fish audience uttered quietly, Deb took a deep breath, with concentration increasing. She then played the piano as her fins were on its keys. Deb also moved her mouth to the microphone's top, since her voice will be heard in the speakers. Once she opened it, she serenaded,

"I have traveled many moonless nights

Once Deb finished playing the final key of the piano, the music had ended. Once she turned to the fish audience, everyone just cheered. Bubbles teared up even more happily, while Nemo, Marlin, Dory and the other Tank Gang members cheered.

"That's my lady!" Gill cried with excitement with a little bit of tears. As he saw Bubbles with much tears, he reassured him.

"Thank you so much, everyone! Thank you!" Deb said with an amplified feeling.

As she sighed in relief, Deb noticed Bubbles swimming over to her. She smiled, and took his fin, leading him onstage. Bubbles held back a sob, and said with happiness,

"Deb, I don't have time to... thank you..."

Deb chuckled, and said,

"Bubbles, it's a surprise for you. To show you how much we'll be friends, but together."

Nemo, Marlin, Dory, Gill and the other Tank Gang members said in unison with cuteness,

"Aww!"

Bubbles smiled tearfully, but noticed something; it was a proposal! He took a jewelry box, and opened it up. Deb gasped tearfully and happily.

"Will you marry me?"

Crying happily, Deb responded,

"Ah, yes! I will marry you!"

As Bubbles and Deb smiled at each other, they heard Gill call out,

"C'mon, Bubbles and Deb! Kiss, like you two can feel the love!"

"Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!" Nemo, Marlin, Dory and the other Tank Gang members called out, so did the audience, who felt awed.

As Bubbles held Deb's two fins, he kissed her. Deb blushed while holding Bubbles' fins as well, she returned it to him.

When the stage fireworks approached from below and fired off, exploding in the sky, Nemo, Marlin, Dory, Gill and the other Tank Gang members cheered again. Sheldon, Tad and Pearl cheered as well, as if they saw fireworks, too. Their parents felt the same way.

As Bubbles and Deb finished the kiss, the two hugged each other. Bubbles placed the ring around Deb's fin. Then, the two nuzzled each other.

This could only mean one thing: living happily ever after!
