She stumbled into the room, holding a cold stare from behind the glass. "No!" She screams out, but they just simply ignore her. The men are silent. "Bring out the stone." With the simple press of a button, a glistening yellow fills behind the glass; the Mind Stone hovering in the center. "Touch it." They hiss. She reaches out, trembling, fingers brushing the Stone. She drops suddenly to the floor, lying alarmingly still. "There goes another one of your experiments." A man holds his hand up."Wait." "Give me her vitals." He calls. "Now!" A faint heart rate and breathing patterns signal life in the young girl, and the men are awestruck. "Stryker." The man says breathlessly. "HYDRA has a new assassin."

"Man." Peter mumbled, beginning to breathe heavy. It was a typical rooftop battle, but the person he was fighting was far from usual. Her golden yellow eyes were cold, not to mention her ability to manipulate energy fields, launching yellow blasts at him left and right. No denying she had been trained for combat either. Whoever it was, they were most definitely a weapon, and nonetheless, they were beating him up pretty good. "Uh, Mr. Stark?" He murmured. "I'm gonna need backup."

"Why? What's going on?" The kid never requested backup.

"There's this enhanced person. I can't take them by myself." He croaked.

"Be there in a sec kid."

Peter finally landed a blow, knocking her mask off. She stared at him for a moment, what felt like forever, her hair blowing in the whispering breeze. Catching him off guard, she hurled a blast of energy his way, sending him flying backwards, and seconds later all Peter could see was black.

"Pete? You good?"

He groaned. Through squinted eyes he saw the figure standing above him. "Mr. Stark?"

"Where did the enhancement go?"

"I don't know. I blacked out before she left."

Tony reached out a hand and pulled Peter up off the ground. "You alright kid?"

"Yes. just don't tell Aunt May."

"Peter." Ned whispered. "Why do you have a black eye?"

"Oh, uh, rough night on patrol yesterday."

"What happened?" He pried.

"Not much just-" his teacher cut him off. He was relieved; he didn't exactly want to talk about how bad he got beat up by a girl.

"We have a new student today." She motioned to the front of the classroom. "This is Skylar Quinn. Why don't you tell us a bit about yourself?"

The girl stood up, and Peter instantly recognized her face. He knew her. He just couldn't put his finger on where.

"My name is Skylar, but most people

call me Skye and, uh, I like to surf."

Brown curly hair. Yellow eyes. It suddenly dawned on him. The girl from the rooftop.

Peter was pulled from his thoughts. He heard muffled shouting and screams. And judging by the look on Skylar's face, he assumed she heard it too. His spider senses were tingling, and something wasn't right.

Then it pierced the air; gun shots.

He whipped around and mouthed to Ned "Cover for me."

And moments later Spider-Man was on the scene.

"Mr. Stark!" He shouted mid swing. "Send whoever you can there is a shooting at the school!"

"Kid? Be careful, I have help on it's way."

"Karen, find the source of the gun shots. Please."

"On it. It appears to be coming from the main hallway."

"On my way."

A bullet skimmed his head as Skylar slid in front of him, surrounding the two of them with a force field.

"You good?" She called, dropping it after a moment.

"Woah. Hey you're the girl from the rooftop!"

"I am. Spider-Man right?"

"Y-yes, but you can call me Peter."

She stuck her hand out. "Skye."

The man approached them and with the flick of her wrists, Skylar lifted the man into the air, throwing him down at her feet. Peter watched in amazement as she kicked away his gun, landed a few solid kicks and punches, and had the guy knocked out, all in about 10 seconds.

What Skye didn't notice was the team of Avengers watching.

"Not bad." Wanda called.

Skylar turned her head.

"We could use an Avenger like you."
