The sun shines over a field as a Gronckle appeared flying.
And on the Gronckle's back, a person was flying on it as the sun rose higher.
The Gronckle and the person flew over a crop field as an odd object was attacked to the Gronckle's underside, and was spraying some sort of mist.
They soon flew by an old hut full of supplies, and inside were 2 boys playing around on a wooden figure of a dragon. And soon, the Gronckle and it's flyer flew by.
"Bandits at starboard!" A boy said with brown hair and eyes.
"Increase speed! Power dive!" The other boy said with brown hair and light brownish eyes.
The first boy then pulls on a stick as if he was controlling it, and the boy behind him noticed something of a writing on a flat piece of wood.
"Spell it right, Rafe." He said and erases it and rewrote with a charcoal pencil. "'Tail'" is spelled with and 'I' and 'L'."
"Thanks, wingman." Rafe said.
"Yeah, sure." The boy said.
They continued playing as then a yak was heard.
"Whoa, bandits!" Rafe said looking back.
The boy then got up and plays around with a fake crossbow.
"Crack shootin', Danny." Rafe said.
"Crack shootin', Rafe." Danny said.
They continued playing around.
Sometime later, they were on a high platform as they watched the Gronckle and it's flyer flew over them. And soon, they came in for a landing by the hut. And the flyer hops off the Gronckle as he was Rafe's father.
"Great flyin', Dad!" Rafe called out.
Rafe's father turns to his son and chuckled, and then walks off.
"Come on." Rafe said as he and Danny headed down the platform. "I'm gonna teach you how to fly."
Rafe's father was soon gone as he headed off somewhere.
"I get the front." Danny said.
"No, you take the back." Rafe said.
"I'm bigger, and I should be in front." Danny said as they climbed onto the Gronckle.
"I'm older, and I'm teachin', so no." Rafe said.
"Wow. It's like we're really flying." Danny said.
"Yeah, I did it lots of times." Rafe said. "Come on, you man the bows. I'll give her some speed."
They then played around, but then Rafe nudges his foot against the Gronckle's side. And then the Gronckle acted up and growled.
"Oh, gosh!" Rafe exclaimed.
The 2 boys started shouting indistinctly as the Gronckle then rushed off.
"Hang on!" Rafe yelled.
"Make it stop, Rafe!" Danny cried.
The Gronckle then took to the air.
"I've seen my dad do this lots of times." Rafe said. "Don't worry!"
Rafe then tries to set the Gronckle down as it continues flying.
"Rafe!" Danny yelled.
Soon, the Gronckle flew higher and got 20 feet off the ground.
"Oh, my gosh! We're flying!" Rafe yelled.
"We're flying!" Danny yelled.
Soon the Gronckle flew back down and came in with a bit of a hard landing and stopped completely.
Rafe gasped calming himself from the excitement.
"Wow." Rafe said.
They then quickly started climbing off the Gronckle.
"My dad's gonna kill me." Rafe said and panted. "Come on."
They hopped off the Gronckle.
"Yes! Whoo-hoo!" Rafe cheered. "We flew!"
"We flew! Yes!" Danny cheered.
"I'm a flyer!" Rafe cheered.
"I know!" Danny cheered.
They quickly ran back to the hut as the Gronckle soon returned as well.
"We flew." Danny said.
Suddenly a man grabbed Danny from behind who was actually his father and looked furious as he must have seen what happened.
"You no-account boy!" Danny's father angrily said.
"Daddy." Danny nervously said.
"I done told you, you spend time playing with this stupid boy can't read, you ain't never goin' to amount to nothin'!" Danny's father angrily said.
He then started dragging his son away.
"He ain't stupid, Daddy!" Danny cried. "Daddy!"
Then his father turned and then suddenly smacked him off his feet.
"Ohh!" Danny cried hitting the ground.
Rafe stood there as he watched and grows angry.
"Come on!" Danny's father angrily said.
"Uhh!" Danny was then pulled up.
Rafe then rushed off.
"Get on back home. Now!" Danny's father said angrily.
Rafe went over to the wooden dragon, and then pulls off a board of wood from it.
Danny's father continues pulling his son as they head across a field heading home as Danny whimpered in his grip trying to get free.
"Get on up." Danny's father angrily said. "You got work to do. Come on!"
Rafe quickly caught up and got ahead of them hiding behind a cart with the wooden board.
"Come on, get on home!" Danny's father said.
They pass by the cart as his father threw Danny ahead as then Rafe swung the board hitting him at the back and was knocked off his feet.
"You let him alone!" Rafe angrily said.
Danny's father groaned and soon got to his feet.
"Daddy, no!" Danny cried trying to stop him.
But Danny's father pushed his son away as he attempt to attack Rafe.
"I will bust you open you dirty bandit!" Rafe yelled ready to whack him again.
Then Danny's father looked hurt suddenly. "What'd you call me?"
Rafe panted as he held the board ready to strike.
"I fought the bandits on that island." Danny's father said. "And I fought 'em in the trenches. And I pray to God no one ever has to see things I saw."
Rafe then lowered his stance as Danny's father stared at the 2 boys for a few moments, and then walks off.
Danny then turns back to Rafe.
"You're my best friend." Danny said.
Then Danny walks off.
"Daddy, wait!" Danny called out.
Danny quickly catches up to his father.
"Daddy, wait." Danny said.
He caught up to him as they soon both place an arm around each other.
And Rafe watches as they walked away.
Author's Note:
This story takes place in Season 6 of Race to the Edge.
And it will show how truly relentless Krogan and his flyers can be.
As it will soon show the Viking Era's version of Pearl Harbor.
And Pearl Harbor is in my list of favorite World War II films, along with Midway (2019). And Hans Zimmer who did the soundtrack for Pearl Harbor did a great soundtrack theme for a World War II film.
