[Ruby Rose]
Dear Dad and Mom,
This is it! We have moved to another place and although I am not familiar with where we will live from now on, I am pretty much excited. I and my friends are facing the real world as adults, well they are not just my friends they are my family. Yang and I miss you both, and I really hoped that you were with us right now. I guess we got to have our own lives now, right? As huntresses, or just normal people who are living in this place. I am looking forward to some new adventures or meet some new people and befriend them. I know starting over again is hard but it never hurts to try, it just meant to happen after going through some tough times. Nothing is bad about restarting. I love you, mom and dad, I know you are just watching me and Yang holding on after everything we had been through.
With lots of love,
Ruby
"Hey sis, what are you writing anyway?"
Yang nudged me by my arm and it surprised me, I almost drop the pen and journal on the train floor. I breathed heavily and looked around the train. Every thirty minutes there will be people who keep entering even we're almost clutched in here. Weiss's eyes remained close, she has been sleeping for six hours while Blake has been reading a book ever since we got on the train. I looked at Yang and she smiled at me with her eyes narrowing a bit. I yawned, my eyes are having a hard time keeping up. I really want to sleep, even when I was writing a letter I almost scribble the wrong word. The train is bounded by countless people, and the seats are full. There are old people who have given an opportunity to sit and the four of us are almost being squeezed. I can't move my legs, Weiss is sleeping so heavily and I just hear Blake groaned, her arms are almost in front of her. Yang squeezed herself into me even more making me harder to breathe.
I am tired, I have no sleep I don't know why probably I have been excited all along and I even got to write mom and dad a letter. Though it is even impossible that they will ever read it when they are not here anymore. I kept the pen and journal inside of my backpack, sighed, and hugged the bag tightly on my chest.
"Don't worry, sis. We are almost there!" Yang grinned at me.
"You keep saying that every five minutes!" I complained.
I closed my eyes tight as I protested at Yang. How can she be so happy when we kept on riding trains for ten hours! This has been the third train to be exact because Yang got confused from telling us where we will go. It felt like we circled almost the entire places in Japan.
"Attention passengers, we have now arrived at Yokohama. Please don't leave your things unattended and thank you for taking Nagoya Railway Station as part of your journey!"
"We're here?!" I exclaimed a bit questioningly.
I stood up despite having a lot of people inside the train. Yang looked at me while the train is moving slowly until it had stopped from the new station where we are right now. The train stopped, and people started taking their baggage with them as they got out of the train just as the doors opened. I squealed in happiness, and it made Weiss woke up, rubbing her eyes from her very deep slumber. I gazed at Yang, Weiss and Blake. Their faces couldn't believe it and they immediately took their baggage and Yang helped me to take mine.
We definitely got out of the train. Weiss kept on yawning and stretching her arms upward, and I could say I really envy her because she got some sleep. The signboard says to us, 'Yokohama Railway Station'. I stood behind the yellow line for a bit, and my friends even refrained from there. I stretched my arms and legs from having to sit on a train for so long. The train leaves for another destination to resolve and we make our way throughout the station to see more of the city.
"This place is so crowded," Blake mumbled. She closed her book and put it in her luggage.
"Of course, Blake. It's a city after all," Weiss replied and smiled at her.
We really reached the city by walking and Yang can't help herself but look at some house-built compartments on every side of this city. We encounter so many normal people, and some of them are looking at us and I can't figure out their curiosity. Is it because of the clothes we are wearing? Is it because of my red cape that its colour is so vibrantly red? Who knows, I can say it is okay since we are just new residents here. We stopped by a ramen store since its sign at the top shows a bowl of noodles and a chopstick. I can hear my stomach growling as I rub it with both of my hands. I look to my sisters from my sides. They keep wandering their eyes everywhere, and all I want is to enter the restaurant so I can eat!
"So, anyone wants to eat? My stomach has been empty for ten hours you guys, might as well rest and have a bowl of noodles!" I cheerfully suggested.
"How about finding an apartment first?" Yang suggested back, her smile is innocent but for me, she is crazy by the thought of finding a spare room before eating.
"Aren't you even hungry, sis? You didn't have breakfast before we even left," I said.
"How are we supposed to find an apartment when we just came here like a minute ago?" Weiss added.
"Yeah, we are still not familiar in this place," Blake said in a manner of fact.
Alright, they are ignoring me. My eyes just glance at them as it is drooping from so much tiredness I feel from this journey. I can't even say this is a journey anymore. We are just looking for a place as our new home.
"Come on, you guys. Like the old times. When we were first trained as huntresses, we were never familiar with the places that our foot had set to, right? Might as well explore!" Yang happily announced.
I grunted and slumped my shoulders in defeat. Here we go again in this exploring thing when we are not even close to resting yet. Although Yang has a point, we have to find a house or what everybody called an apartment so that we can able to fix our things. We also have big baggage with us, each of us has our backpacks and of course, travelling bags.
"Alright, Team RWBY! Where shall we start?" I asked.
"Okay so, I will go to the back of this restaurant while Blake and Weiss explore some streets. If one of us finds a room then she will call," Yang instructed.
"Wait what about me? I want to go with you, sis!" I almost cried when she didn't mention my name to explore and find a room.
Yang chuckled at me and I could see Weiss and Blake are walking away. I keep on begging Yang but she tells me I will be alright by myself. My hands tried to grab both of Yang's arms but her hand is on my forehead and is stopping me.
"But Yaaaang, I don't even know what kind of place this is!" I cried.
"Sure you do, Ruby. Come on, how long has it been. You're already 21 and you still act like a kid," Yang giggles.
I diverted my gaze to the ground and crossed my arms to my chest. I can't look at Yang, and just glanced away sulkily. She just laughed at me then ruffled my hair. She takes my travelling bag and tells me that she will bring it by herself. She is still my great sister. Yang just left me standing in front of the ramen restaurant. I guess I will not be eating until I complete my mission.
"Welcome to Yokohama," I muttered to myself then sighed heavily, and exhaustingly.
I walked to the nearest possible but empty street. I couldn't even see some people so I can ask for directions. I held the strap of my backpack so tight, and my stomach is so mad at me like it wants to devour my insides instead of waiting until my job is complete. Sometimes I really think that Yang is punishing me for being a team leader. I sighed. I don't think my legs and feet can even bring me to where Yang wants me to go.
I don't see anything here, the street looks abandoned until I walk myself into an alleyway. It leads to another street in the city and I hope this time I can finally see some people. Why do I even have to take this route? What if there is a killer here or something or rather a person who can rob me? Erase that thought, Ruby Rose!
I walked through the alleyway, looking everywhere and my legs sure are getting wobbly in every step I make. My hands are gripping the straps of my backpack and even they are shaking, without me even realizing what am I so nervous about.
"I don't get why I have to work with you again, freak."
"You're dead by now if I wasn't here."
I stopped walking and leaned against the wall. I peeked from behind the wall and I saw two people whose backs are turned to me. They are not familiar to me though and as I wrinkled my eyebrows to see more of them, I can tell they are fighting and I keep on hearing their voices.
"Just stop talking and let's get this over with."
"You're the one's talking."
The orange-haired guy who is wearing a hat just grabbed the brunette guy by his collar, and he really is pissed off at him. I don't even know what is going on and I can't just walk my way through there and just make an interference. I try to keep myself not to get caught though there is no other way and they are the only ones that I hope can help me to know the directions of this city.
My heart thumped so loudly. My eyes remained stuck to the two when guns began firing right at them. I gasped silently while I held the back of my bag, looking at the guys and the others who I can't even see their faces clearly. They are all wearing black hoods and holding guns with their two hands. I saw something hover through the air with its red aura and it was sent flying against the bandits.
I didn't stop myself, and I was running to them infuriatingly and getting ready with my scythe, Crescent Rose. With something floating, I stepped on it and with the swing of my scythe, I began battling with the gunmen. They keep on firing as I block them with Crescent Rose, then I positioned myself on the ground, my scythe got transformed into the assaulted rifle and I fire back at the gunmen. I felt a big burden being breathed in by me as I saw them all fell down on the ground. I couldn't believe that I have eliminated them all by myself. The assault dissipated, and the empty street is quiet once again. I stared at those dead guys, and I felt my hands shaking. I don't think I'm going back to my team empty-handed.
"What the hell?"
"Oh, a girl just saved us. How surprising."
"Shut it, Dazai."
I looked back to the two young men and they were staring at me baffled and surprised. I rubbed the back of my neck and folded Crescent Rose then put it in my bag. Good thing, my belongings aren't damaged or anything.
"Hello," I put on a tight smile and timidly waved at them.
The guy with the hat just raised his eyebrow at me while the other with bandages around his arms and neck waved back at me and smiled just like an amiable person would do. Why is he wrapped with bandages, anyway? Was he injured?
