Team 7 stared at their opponent. The girl stared back, tears streaming down her face. The ground beneath her feet boiling red.

"It doesn't have to be this way." Naruto said reaching a handout.

"Those people," she said, her voice shaking in her rage. "Those monsters… they dared to treat me as their weapon. I didn't choose this power. I didn't hurt anyone."

"But now you'll hurt them? You'll only be proving them right."

"They thought I was a monster." The girl said, getting more and more heated. "I see no reason not to… What are you doing?"

Sakura looked at the girl. She was halfway up a sizable tree. "Don't mind me. Keep going."

The girl didn't oblige as she watched the pink haired Kunoichi tie some rope to a branch. Once she was satisfied she looked at Sasuke and nodded.

The girl looked at him and did a double take.

The Uchiha was sitting in front of a piano, one hand poised to begin playing while the other was holding an object in his mouth.

"Is that a flute." She asked.

Without a word, Sasuke began playing a slow and soft somber tune on the instrument in question.

Lava girl took a step back, surprised by the gentle tune. She was so focused on it, she didn't even notice the genjutsu Kakashi cast that made the sky just the right shade of red and had the world seem just a little slower and quieter.

Sasuke, in an amazing display of skill, began playing the piano with one hand while still fingering the flute. The sound didn't drop for a second. Where did he get such skills?

A redhead hiding in the nearby forest wiped a tear from her eye. "That's my boy."

Sakon and Ukon rolled their four eyes before getting kicked out of the tree for disrespecting the child of Tayuya's teachings.

"I too understand how you feel."

Lava girl turned to look at Naruto. He was sitting on the swing Sakura had set up. "I too, was hated for things I had no hand in doing. My people, they hated me because they were afraid. Fear… it can make people act irrationally but I was able to get through it. Not by my own power, but because of those around me. Iruka-sensei, Jiji..."

Sasuke was sure that Naruto was giving the most heartfelt speech in history, at least until his next one, but he needed to stay focused on the songs at hand, lest Tayuya sic her grotesque monsters on him again.

Training with the crazy redhead was almost as intense as training with Kakashi.

So he played both instruments with lightning speed accuracy and all the dexterity he could muster.

After six and a half minutes, the song winded down and he finally allowed himself to notice the outside world.

"You're right." Lava girl wept. "I do have things to live for. How could I have been so blind?"

Lava girl was in Naruto's arms crying while he held her, whispering that everything was going to be okay. Then he gave Sasuke a smug look that screamed, 'And you said this wasn't going to work.'

Sasuke rolled his eyes. Before looking at the instruments before him. Truly, this music had power.

Behind team 7 and the newly reformed enemy, Teams 3, 8 and 10 stared at the event with shock.

"Such a powerful jutsu." Gai said. "We must perfect our own."

Neji and Tenten silently cursed team 7 as their green teammates began singing about youth.
