AN: I've written a Wanda and Poof story once before, but of course deleted it due to not being satisfied with how it turned out. I also decided to give Wanda's mother a different name to kinda match hers and Blonda's. Well, hope you enjoy this cute yet rather bittersweet "episode" I've rewritten. :)

Disclaimer: Nothing is mine except this one-shot.

Mom always liked you best!

Those words. They were the final nail in her coffin. They cut deep, feeling like she'd been kicked hard in the gut. Like she had been struck by lightning that wasn't caused by her own son's magical powers from his newborn years.

Wanda sat all alone on her own bed inside the little fairy castle with a picture of her family grasped tightly in her hands. Tears of both anger and deep sadness trailed down her cheeks from her magenta coloured eyes.

Her mother had always loved her twin sister Blonda more than her, and even now as an adult godmother those hurtful words still dug deep at her heart. She never understood why some parents would always love one child over another.

It wasn't right.

And the thought of such thing made her feel sick to her stomach, crumbling her heart into pink fairy dust. All children deserved to be loved equally, not the other way around.

Why did the world had to be filled with so much pain?

Finally with all the build up anger rising to the surface within her she violently threw the picture of their so-called happy fairy family against the purple wall. Tiny pieces of glass scattered everywhere, covering each pink tile with those god awful lies.

They were a broken family now. Big Daddy lived on his own in a big mansion and took over the family garbage business while Blonda lived in Fairywood living her childhood dream of becoming a famous actress (Something their mother would be really proud of). Both jobs which Wanda had temporarily.

Later she became a proud wife, godmother, and eventually mother to her two beloved children Timmy Turner and Poof Cosma. Of course, she had her moments where she choose to pay much more attention to her biological son than her godson some days.

Well, he was the youngest, and she was only trying her very best to be a good mother to Poof. Right?

However, that didn't give her any excuse whatsoever to act so poorly around Timmy. He WAS her responsibility too. Oh no. Was she herself making the same dang mistake by choosing Poof over Timmy like her mother did with Blonda? Seriously, how did Jorgen not fire her and Cosmo from their jobs by now? Together they've only brought disgrace to the fairy name.

How and why on earth Timmy could still love them after all the crap they put him through when Poof was born she'll never fully understand.

Wanda knew right then and there she truly didn't deserve to be his fairy godmother or a mother at all. She was nothing but a total screw up, just like the moron she married many years ago.

We're two halves of a whole idiot!

Those words couldn't be more true as hell at this point.

"Mom? Is everything okay?"

The pink haired fairy frantically turned her attention to the doorway where a tiny fairy hovered. A look of concern on his face as he eyed her, cringing at what he saw.

To him, Wanda looked like the time she hadn't slept in days after Timmy wished nobody needed sleep. Her eyes bloodshot and darkened with makeup, her once swirly pink curl in a frizz.

"Mom?" He asked again. "Are you okay? Why are you crying?"

"I'm fine, sweetie." She lied; her usual shrill but motherly voice raspy from fatigue and disappointment.

She quickly turned her head and began wiping away the fallen tears off her face.

"I just needed time alone, that's all."

Poof then noticed an object laying on the other side of the room surrounded by shards of glass. In a split second he began floating over toward it. When Wanda saw what had suddenly captured her young son's attention, her motherly nature soon kicked into high gear.

"Poof, don't go near that broken picture frame. You'll cut yourself on the glass and sharp edges! Get away from there this instant."

Her son rolled his lavender eyes. His mother meant well, but sometimes she could be so darn overprotective of him. Even his godbrother. Besides, couldn't he just magically heal his wounds if he did get hurt?

Still, he did deeply appreciate her worrisome attitude over their safety. He immediately withdrew the broken glass using his magic rattle, and picked up the photo lying on the floor.

"Mom, is this grandma? The fairy with the purple eyes and hair who's next to grandpa and Aunt Blonda?"

His mother nodded sadly in response.

"What happened to her?"

"She and Big Daddy got a divorce long before you were born. I don't know what happened to her after that. I think she may have died sometime afterwards from a bad illness. She's the reason why I've been feeling upset lately. See, your grandma actually loved your Aunt Blonda more than she did me."

Poof frowned before he sat next to Wanda on the crown-shaped bed. Could it be? Did her mother actually choose his aunt over his own mother? He didn't like seeing her look so down. In fact, the only thing he thought would bother her this much was ever wanting to become a girlfriend to that show off ex-boyfriend, or perhaps Cosmo's former harsh words he would use against her every now and then.

"Really? That's awful. Although I thought we fairies couldn't die. You know, since we're magical."

"Even us fairies can die, Poof. It doesn't matter if we have magic powers or not. We may be immortal, but that doesn't mean we can't die. Heck, your father and I almost did from a wreaking ball incident during a singing competition after we quit being Timmy's fairy godparents." Wanda explained, shuddering from the unpleasant memory that suddenly pounded at her frazzled mind.

"Timmy told me about how Norm was the one who once caused you and dad so much pain. That jerk, just wait until I get my first wand once I finish Spellementary school! I'll send him skyrocketing into the sun, and blast all our other enemies out of existence. Well, all except Foop since we're finally on good terms. If Jorgen will ever let me that is."

Wanda chuckled a little at his interesting choice of vocabulary. "Afraid it's against Da Rules, dear. I can see who you get your short temper from though. You know, that's a lot of words for a boy your age."

Poof giggled, tossing himself gently into Wanda's loving arms like a basketball through a net. "I get it from you, mama. Just like I get my love of action movies and goofing around from Timmy and dad. Anyway, I just want you to know that I'll always love you know matter how old I get. Will you still love me even when I'm a fairy godparent someday?"

"Always. You'll make a great fairy godparent someday. Hopefully, the person you're assigned to won't be like Mr. Crocker's mother."

"Ugh, let's hope not. I still have nightmares. I'm sorry about what happened between you and grandma, mom. But I'm sure she did still love you very much. What was her name?"

Wanda nuzzled her son with a sad smile. A new wave of teardrops sliding down her cheeks. Losing her mother was unfortunate, yet she also knew deep down Poof was probably right. After all, a parent could love more than one child.

"Rhonda Fairywinkle"
