A slightly late birthday present for Brainyxbat who is one of my best friends in the BH6 fandom. We have a little collab in progress on her profile called Wingmen, featuring her character Venus Woods, who she ships with Wasabi. This story also features Vesabi, which is a super cute little ship.

This is also a little tribute to the recent Star Wars day, based on my headcanon that Wasabi loves Star Wars.

Enjoy!

"What do you mean you haven't watched Return of the Jedi?" Wasabi asked, appalled.

"Why is that a bad thing?" Venus laughed. Her boyfriend got as passionate about Star Wars as she did about Disney Princesses.

"Because it's a trilogy! I just don't understand how someone could've watched the first two Star Wars movies and not number three. When did you watch the first two?"

"We watched them in one of my high school science classes when the teacher didn't feel like teaching, but we only had time for the first two because we had to study for a test and then I forgot that I never saw the third."

"Well it's not as good as the first one, nothing is as good as the first one when they were all young and dumb and full of a new hope and had no idea what would happen in the future, what it would become. But it's still a good movie and you absolutely have to watch it as soon as possible."

"So right now?" Venus guessed, since it was Star Wars Day (May The Fourth Be With You) and he was all decked out in Star Wars clothes, looking like the most handsome nerd of all time.

"Like right now," Wasabi agreed, "Or at least right after breakfast. You're gonna love it. You're gonna love the Ewoks."

"What are Ewoks?"

"They're a species in Star Wars that look like cuddly teddy bears. Obviously they were created to sell toys to children, but who doesn't like toys?"

"So true," Venus giggled, setting the table while Wasabi finished their pancakes. For reasons relating to Venus' various burn injuries, Wasabi did most of the cooking and Venus set the table and helped him tidy up. The system worked for them.

After breakfast, they cozied up on the couch, Wasabi practically holding Venus in his lap as she hugged the Grogu plush he had gotten her for Christmas, though Venus still insisted on calling it Baby Yoda.

Wasabi loved everything about Star Wars, even the stuff that was terrible about Star Wars. Like The prequels. And the sequels. But his favorite part about Star Wars was watching it with the people he loved. He had fond memories of his dad showing him the first movies as a little kid, and then watching it with Khary, and then rewatching it with Khary any time they had a bad day, and now he had the love of his life to share his favorite movies with.

Venus didn't totally get it. She liked the movies but she didn't love them the way Wasabi did. She didn't have the history of loving them, of waking up early on school breaks to watch as many of them as possible in one day. But she loved the way he lit up when they watched one of them, loved how episodes of The Mandolorian made him feel better when he had a rough day at work. Loved how happy he got geeking out about fun facts with Khary while Venus and Damon rolled their eyes about the geekiness. It was so charming and exciting to see him get excited.

"How did you like it?" Wasabi asked, peering down at Venus, love and excitement in his eyes.

"I like it, I'm glad there was a happy ending, though it seemed kind of fast, and the Ewoks were cute. So The Last Jedi and stuff happened after this movie?"

"Yeah. Several, several, several years after this movie. Han and Leia are Kylo Ren's parents and Luke goes off to be a solo space twink and may or may not raise baby yoda and fall in love with the Mandalorian."

"I think you read too much fanfic," Venus giggled.

"At least I'm not as bad as Karmi," Wasabi laughed, and then, randomly, "I love you." He kissed her head.

"I love you too," Venus said, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Thanks for watching this with me. I know you don't love it as much as I do."

"I love that you love it," Venus said with a smile.

"And I love that about you," Wasabi laughed, pulling her close and kissing her deeply, the perfect end to a perfect morning, but just the beginning of their Star Wars day.
