/SO, this is my new story, basically explains itself. It's my NEW OC shiro yamanaka who is an SAO survivor who died in the game before it was cleared.
6 months ago, kirito and shiro were clearing out a dungeon on the 72nd floor alone. It was here that shiro yamanaka would meet his end. Or so he thought. "Switch!" kirito yelled to shiro as he backed off to quickly use a healing potion. They had been at this fight for nearly 4 hours now and they were starting to get worn down. "Damn it!" shiro yelled as he got struck by the bosses' large blade getting knocked back a few feet. He quickly brought up his menu and grabbed a health potion. "Damn. Kiri! I'm running low already! I'm on my last 1!" he yelled to the other swordsman who was fighting back the boss. "I'm getting low too. We need to hurry up and beat this guy!" he replied swinging his dual swords at the boss cutting a medium size chunk from its final health bar. "I know! Just hang in there kiri we got this!" shiro yelled back as he quickly healed and regained most of his health but it wasn't enough to save him from what was about to happen.
Just as he jumped back into the fray the boss switched weapons and tactics to one, they never seen before. It was a long sword with a serrated blade, approximately 20 meters in length and 20 meters in width. "Shit!" kirito yelled as he blocked the initial attack and managed to swing a counter attack taking another chunk of health bringing it down to the last few hits. "I got this!" shiro yelled as he ran in to finish the boss off. "haaaaa!" he yelled as he ran in about to swing his dual swords but got hit by the bosses' attack that threw him across the room and depleted his health. "SHIRO!" kirito yelled as he ran to where shiro landed but didn't make it in time only to see the death animation happen signifying that shiro had died. "NOOOOOOOOO!" kirito screamed as he gripped his sword tighter and turned back to face the boss one more to finish off and avenge his brother.
His eyes shot open as he quickly looked around his surroundings to see a peculiar sight. "What? How?" shiro had no idea how but he had survived and made it back to the real world. He moved his arms up to his face and lifted off the nerve gear his hands shaking and trembling with care. "What the hell?" he asked himself as he sat the nerve gear down next to him. "What? How I am out? The last thing I remember is-" he stopped as he recalled the events that happened just moments ago. "kazuto. Did- did we clear the game?" he asked himself as he slowly sat up looking around the room seeing he was in a hospital room. "I hope so." he said to himself just as he heard the sound of a door being opened and voices approaching.
"As you can see ma'am your son is still-" the man stopped as he saw shiro sitting up in the bed the nerve gear in his lap. "shiro!" the woman cried as she ran over to the bed and hugged him. "m-mom?" he said as he looked at the woman. "This is just a dream, isn't it? I'm still in SAO. Right?" he asked trying to make sense of the situation. "But...how... I died..." his mind raced back to the events that just transpired not a mere five minutes ago. "Young man. I don't know how you made it out of that game. You should be dead if you really did die in there." the doctor said as he walked closer to check him. "..." he was speechless. He was out. And he should be dead, so what happened?
He laid back down on the hospital trying to process just how he got out. 'Could it have been a glitch? No kaiyaba isn't that dumb. Maybe a malfunction in the nerve gear?' his mind kept racing over ideas of what happened before he realized. "doc. Did the game get cleared?" he asked looking up at the doctor who replied with a grimace look. "I'm sorry shiro, but no. The game still hasn't been beaten; we don't know how you were logged out." The doctor replied with sorrow in his voice. "So, they are still stuck?" he asked before he began to cry. "kazuto...asuna...everyone...I failed you..." he said as he cried, his mother kept hugging him to comfort him. "I know your worried sweetie. But I promise we will find out how you got out. And we find a way to save them." she replied with a reassuring smile and tone. "Now you just rest and recover, ok? I'm going to go call your sister and tell the news." she let him go and got up to make a phone call.
5 months had passed and shiro has slowly been recovering with physical therapy and rehabilitation. He was finally well enough to walk and move around and was soon released from the hospital. He had gotten the information for kazuto's home address and where he his body was being held at a hospital nearby. He had decided to stop by on his way home to see kazuto before going home. A few hours passed by and he was now standing Infront of kazuto's hospital room. He let out a sigh. "Ok. Let's go see my bro." he said to himself as he opened the door to see two people sitting on the chairs near the hospital bed. "Excuse me. Is this kazuto Kirigaya's room?" he asked the two women who looked up at him. "Yes, but who are you?" the younger one asked. "m-my name is shiro yamanaka. I'm a friend of his. From in the game." he replied as they looked at him in shock. "What!?" they both said in unison. "how!? I thought players died if they died in the game?" the older one asked him. "Well, that's kind of a complicated story. Tbh I don't know how I got out. All I remember is kazuto and I were fighting a floor boss solo together and it hit me with a final attack and I died. Next thing I knew I woke up in the hospital not far from here." he replied as he walked in the room and took a seat across from them.
"So, the game glitched?" the younger one asked. "To be honest I don't know. I should be dead. But I'm not." he said as he looked over a kazuto's body. "I hope he's ok." he said with sorrow in his voice. "I'm sorry, my name is suguha. I'm his little sister." the girl now named suguha replied putting her hand out to shake his. " shiro yamanaka. Also known as the saint slayer in game." he replied shaking her hand. "narusaka Kirigaya" the older woman replied shaking his hand. "Saint slayer huh?" suguha replied with a smirk. "Uh yea. The guilds gave it to me after floor 32 raid." he replied rubbing the back of his head. "So how did you know kazuto?" narusaka asked him. "Well, he and I were like brothers in the game. We did everything together since the beta, we were the two top solo players in the game." he replied reluctantly. "a brother to him huh?" she replied with a smile. "Well, I'm glad he made such a great friend." she said looking at him. "Yea, I'd do anything for him and him for me. Heck he saved my life more times than I can count." he said looking over a kazuto. "Come on Ki. Beat this game. For the both of us. I'll be right her waiting for you." he replied looking at kazuto with a tear falling down his face.
A few hours had passed and the three of the had spent it getting to know each other and hear stories of the adventures him and kirito got up to in the game. "And then, he yells switch only to bring out a second sword and go nuts slashing like a maniac on the gate boss! I swear if I didn't know any better, I'd say he was the final boss of the game!" he said with a laugh as the other two joined him. "It sounds like you and kazuto got along very well. I'm glad you were there to help him and keep him safe. I just hope he says safe in there." narusaka said as she looked over at kazuto. "Thank you shiro. For being there for him. You can consider yourself a part of this family after everything you've done for him." she said as she looked back at shiro. "Thank you shiro. If it wasn't for you, I don't know if he would have survived all that." suguha replied. "It was no problem really. I was just looking out for my best friend." he sighed looked at his watch. "Well, it seems I must be going. I'll try to stop by tomorrow." he got up and walked over and leaned into to kazuto. "You get your sorry ass out that game Ki. Or I'll find a way back in and make you. You hear me partner?" he said as fist-bumped kazuto's hand. And with that he left to head home after saying goodbye to the two.
A few more weeks had passed with shiro visiting the hospital every day to see kazuto and it was now the day the was cleared and shiro was on his way to the hospital to see kazuto. "I hope I see you again soon brother." he said as he walked into the hospital and checked in to see kazuto. "Thank you again ma'am." he said to the front desk as he began to walk away and head into the hallway where kazuto's room was. He opened the door to see a shocking sight. The bed was empty. And kazuto was nowhere to be seen. "What?! Kazuto!?" he quickly looked around the room to see nothing. The he quickly ran out of the room to find the doctors escorting him back to the room.
"Kiri! You're ok!" he said loudly as he stood by the door. "Sorry sir but could please keep your voice down. He just woke up after two years from being in that game." the doctors said. "Sorry, it's just he is my best friend from in the game." shiro replied as the wheeled kazuto back into the room and put him back in the bed. He walked into the room behind the doctor. "Is he ok doc?" he asked. "He will be ok. He just needs to rest and recover his sight and hearing had returned. You can go see him if you wish." the doctor said as they walked out. "Thanks doc I will." he replied walking into the room slowly. "Hey bro. It's been a while, hasn't it?" he said as he slowly approached the bed.
