Been wrangling plot bunnies for the last few days and thought, 'why not write a mother's day fic.

Logan is away on a mission, while Rogue is home with their toddler James. The mansion is decorated in the colours of spring to celebrate mother's day, with a big buffet style breakfast and activities.

Basking in the warm heat of the morning May sun. Rogue sat out on the terrace of her and Logan's suite. Below she enjoyed the smells of the x-mansion garden as laughter rose in the air.

Smiling, Rogue rubbed small circles over her growing belly.

'Mommy!" a small boy with bouncing wild curls of brown hair raced over to her.

"Morning handsome." kissing the boy's cheeks, placing him on her lap. "did you have fun with Nate and Uncle Scott yesterday?"

"yeah!" clapping his hands together, "we got lots of fishes." Hazel's eyes lit with excitement.

Rogue loved her son and Nathaniel Summers had such a great friendship. Unlike their fathers.

Running her fingers through her son's unruly hair she wondered about her child's father and if he was safe.

"Mommy stahp!" the little boy whined.

"Should we head downstairs then?" she asked. Nodding his hazel eyes glazed over. "I guess someone's ready for a big breakfast." Rogue chuckled leading them towards the giant cafeteria.

When the pair entered they were greeted with various spring coloured decorations with chicks, bunnies and a display of butterflies were out on the patio.

heading to the tables filled with an assortment of breakfast and brunch foods, Rogue felt tiny hands tugging on her skirt.

Big doe eyes looked up to her, "Daddy coming home?" he asked. Rogue bit her lip. she hoped he would be home soon. Grabbing two trays, she started filling the plates.

The pair shortly joined some of their friends at oneof the tables. on one side sat the Summer family, and the other Hank sat with his ready to pop pregnant wife. A light chatter fell over the group as they ate.

"Uncle Scott can I tell mommy about her present now?" James was bouncing in his chair, taking a break from eating. Before Scott could even answer the little boy, a rose was being held out in front of Rogue.

Springing from here seat Rogue was in Logan's lap in the matter of seconds, "your home!" nuzzling into her lovers chest after a thorough kissing of his entire face.

"Happy to see me Darlin'" Logan smirked, tightening his hold around her.

James eyebrows knit together, he hadn't smelt his father come in, looking over his hazel eyes grew big and wide. Slipping off his chair, James tackled into Logan's legs. rubbing his head against his father's thigh.

"Hey bub, been taking good care of your mom for me?" Scooping his mini up, placing him in his mates lap. The boy cuddled closer into his father's chest.

Afterwards the family made it back to their suite. Relaxing on the sofa as James told his parents all about his fishing trip he went on yesterday.

"James did you want to grab your Mother's Day gift from auntie Jean?" Rogue asked.

Quickly the boy scampered out the door, heading down the hall.

"Logan…" She was cut off by warm lips sliding across hers. The mahogany brunette melted into the slow tender kiss backed by heated desire.

"hmm, anything else darlin'" Logan playfully smirked, his thumb running over her plump pink bottom lip.

Green eyes fluttered closed, "yes," pausing to check if he would stop her. Logan's thumb had stilled. "I'm pregnant."

Guiding his free hand over her slight bump that had begun to round.

"Gawd baby, I'm never leaving on a mission for that long again." Leaning his head forward so his forehead was resting against hers. (Sure he had only been gone under three months but he enjoyed the fact he could tell before anyone else. When his girl was carrying their future cub.)

"Sugah, there's something else." Rogue bit her lip.

Moving back, Logan's gaze roamed over her, "what?!"

A small smile played on her teasing lips. "there's two."

Neither parent had heard their son reenter the room. "I want a buruther!" James' small face scrunched up, glaring at his mother's tummy.

Chuckling Logan brought James back up on the couch. "What's in the bag champ." changing the boy's focus. James handed his mother a deep green gift bag.

The first thing Rogue pulled from the bag was a jar of spices, a tag hanging off with the words; 'I got a fishy' written in her son's practising hand. Her eyes met Logan's. Yup her son had noticed. Next a photo of the three of them during one of their picnics in the garden. (gonna have to thank Jean or Jubes for the photo.) It was framed in a popsicle frame with family painted on the bottom. The last gift was a pouch of dried flowers and berries with a small heart charm tied with gold ribbon.

"Thank yah so much, handsome!" kissing her son's head.

"Love you Mommy!"

Logan gave a mischievous wink over the boys head, "Don't worry Darlin' you'll get my gift later."

Rogue blinked several times as a lobster coloured blush crept onto her face.
