I woke up staring at the ceiling and took a deep breath. Somehow I got roped into another activity with my under classmate,again. "Again...why do I let myself get roped into these activities? " I ask myself. I get up and rub my face with my hands,mentally preparing myself for another day with "her". I got dressed and,just as I expected,heard a knock at the door once I got finished. She was here already? She must have really been waiting for today? She is already a very energetic person,but I have never seen her so excited that she woke up early just to get to my apartment.

I walk over to the door and open it to see my underclassmate standing outside,waiting for me. "Ready to volunteer at daycare Sakurai? '' she asked with enthusiasm. I let out a deep sigh and let out a close eyed nod. '' Hana,how did I let you rope me into this? '' I said bluntly,not meaning to also be rude. Hana's face shifted from smiling to mischievous almost simultaneously and she just stared at me silently with that look. " It's just what I expected from Uzaki Hana. " I thought to myself.After locking up my apartment door, I walked down the steps and onto the sidewalk with Uzaki at my side.

" Don't worry senpai,you won't regret volunteering at the local daycare if it means we get to hang out. " Uzaki says with a mischievous look still on her face.

I rolled my eyes and just let her laugh at me. I just focused on walking and getting to the daycare. She didn't say much after she was done laughing at me. Instead,she playfully poked at me and giggled like a child as she did so. I let her do it a couple times before I palette out a growl that made her stop and make a pouty face at me. "You're so darn serious," Uzaki complained. Her fingers pressed firmly into my arm. I gave her a not so pleased look before I looked back in front of me. Silence,just how I liked it. Although, I did start to feel regret,being that felt I was a little rude.

" Hana-San,I…"

I turned back to Uzaki and I saw her looking down at the ground,slightly red in the face. I paused and she looked at me with the same blank look she had looking down at the ground. I shook my head briefly,my hair swaying as I did so. "Well, I was a bit rude there. Sorry Uzaki-San. ". Hana didn't say anything,only looking at me with the same blank expression she had before. I asked Uzaki if she was ok and only got through half my sentence before she interrupted.

"Never better! Thanks for checking,senpai~" My flustered under classmate says as a slight smile grows on her face. Uzaki was acting weird-never have I seen her act like this. " Uzaki,you're acting very weird,almost like you li-" I say before stopping myself and realizing what I was going to say. Uzaki looked at me as I turned away,trying to hide the wide-eyed look I had on my face. No,she can't like me,like,romantically.

" You're my friend senpai, and I wouldn't have it any other way. " Uzaki says,still blushing. There was a long period of silence after that. I really wasn't sure what to say next.My thoughts smoothed over me, my crowded thoughts running through my brain at a rapid pace.

"Hana, I lik-"

I cut myself off halfway through my sentence and sharply turned my head away. Then, I looked back at Uzaki-She was looking at me with a blank face. "I like you too,Sakurai. " Uzaki says suddenly. I blink and brush Uzaki's hair with my hand. "I didn't think you would like me back," I say,looking away briefly to my right. "I don't know what you would see in a guy like me."

"You're actually quite handsome Senpai,but it's not the reason I fell in love with you. " Uzaki says neurotically.

We stared blankly at each other again for a brief moment before a sly smile grew on my face and I did this hair brushing motion with my hands. "Stop it Senpai,you're not that smooth," she says."I wasn't trying to be smooth." I respond. Uzaki responded with a side-eye look and was questioning my response. I thought for a moment-We had to get to the daycare. There is no time to talk about it now.

" Why don't we talk through this after our volunteer work? " I say.

"Y-yeah,that's fine Senpai. " Uzaki says,flustered.

When we got to the daycare,we entered through two doors to get to their lobby. Me and Uzaki were greeted by a member from the office staff who showed us to the room we were going to be volunteering in. We were going to be volunteering in the toddlers room. There were lots of them too,very tiny things. I looked at Uzaki,who was squealing quietly. I guess I forgot how energetic Hana is at that moment.

"Their SO cute! " Uzaki exclaims.

Even though Hana can be a bit annoying at times, I still enjoy hanging out with her.her positives outweigh the negatives sometimes.For every antic and annoying moment, there were some good times. I couldn't help but give a slight smile at that moment. No matter our relationship,she's still the same Uzaki-Chan.

The office lady introduced us to the teacher.Then she brought us over to the other women working in the toddler room. She was a young female,about our age with tan skin and black hair tied in pigtails. She also wore purple glasses with a white button up shirt with a black shirt and white sneakers. "Penī,these are the volunteers who will be working with you today-Sakurai and Uzaki. " the teacher said. "Nice to meet you both. The name is Kuranosuke Penī ,I look forward to working with you. " she says with a smile.

We were then introduced to the toddlers in the room and we got to work. I sat down and saw a little toddler standing across from me-Purple hair in pigtails with brown eyes. I gesture for her to come to me and she walks over to me and sits on my lap. I stopped for a moment as the toddler sat down on lap and turned to look up at me. I admit,that kind of put a smile on my face. Suddenly, I hear Hana Uzaki's voice from behind.

"Don't run,you'll hurt yourself little ones! " Uzaki says as two toddlers run past me. Hana runs up beside me and stops,leaning over and huffing to catch her breath. She then looks over at me with a toddler still in my lap. "Looks like you have it easy Senpai." Uzaki says as she sits down next to me. I nod as I pet the head of the toddler in my lap. I stroked the toddler's hair lightly as Uzaki watched. "You know,I think you would be a really good father. " Uzaki says,causing me to look at her.

"And a mommy sounds nice too. " Uzaki adds. She then looks away, obviously flustered and unsure of what she said.My mouth twitches as if it's trying to smile, but can't quite manage too."We shouldn't be so playful while in daycare. The children are too young to be seeing it. " I say with a slight smile."Right" Uzaki says,looking at the toddler cozily sitting in my lap. Uzaki then scoots closer and also pats the toddler's head. We both look at the toddler,as if we were her parents.

" You two sure look a lot like parents. " a voice says.

I turned to see Penī sitting next to me,across from Uzaki. She then looked at the little one in my lap and let out a little chuckle."She seems to really like me." I say. Suddenly,the little one starts reaching out,stretching her little arms as far as she can towards Uzaki. Uzaki looks at the child a moment before reaching towards the child and signaling her to come.The child crawls out of my lap and goes over to Uzaki and sits on her lap.

"She likes the both of you two. " Pennī says.

The child scoots around a bit and sits still in Uzaki's lap. Uzaki wrapped her hands and made a quiet squeal looking at the child in her lap. "Uzaki seems to be really enjoying the experience. " I say blankly. Pennī laughs again as Uzaki starts humming a little tune. Both me and Pennī watch Uzaki,showing a side I had never seen before. "Uzaki-San isn't usually like this." I say,causing Uzaki to look up and give me a scowling look. "I mean, I have never seen you acting this way before. "

Uzaki said nothing,she just kept staring at me with the same scowling look. "But I can tell you are enjoying this volunteer experience. " I add. Suddenly, I saw two other toddlers walking towards me.The boy sat beside me while the girl toddler stood in front of me,with her hands on my shoulder. I looked at the female toddler who looks at me with big,wide eyes. "Da-da! " the female toddler says,catching me by surprise.

Both Pennī and Uzaki laugh as I look at the toddler silently. The toddler smiles at me and I admit that I couldn't help but smile back and give her a light pat on the head."Uh,any particular reason why she's calling me da-da?" I ask Pennī. "She really likes you,Sakurai. " Pennī says as I look over and see Uzaki silently laughing with her hand over her mouth."I see you laughing Uzaki Uzaki-Don't think I don't see you." I say.

Three other toddlers suddenly approached me and sat down in a row right in front of me. It was quite astounding how quickly these toddlers warmed up to me. I patted one of them on the head and the toddler responded with a tilt of his head. "Wow,they've really warmed up to you. " Pennī says. "Surprisingly,considering how much of a loner you are,Senpai. " Uzaki says teasingly.

"Oh really? Well...you just like to tease me all the time. " I state.

"Senpai,I tease you because I like you. " Uzaki says with a flirtatious tone in her voice.

I choked and was taken aback by Uzaki's flirtatious tone. I cleared my throat and faced my underclassmate and her mischievous grin. "I thought we were going to save the flirting until after daycare. " I say in a hushed voice. Suddenly the classroom teacher appeared and asked how we were doing,causing me to nearly choke again. "W-were doing good-these kids love us. " I said in a attempt to cover up Uzaki's flirting.

"Well,I saw you two are being quite playful over here. "

I looked over at Uzaki and gave her an angry look,silently saying "This is going to be your fault". I looked back at the teacher and apologized profusely. I explained that I told Uzaki that we should save the playfulness for after we were done volunteering-As it would be inappropriate to do around the young toddlers in the room. The teacher gave me a slight smile and bent down. "I appreciate you trying to be considerate for the young ones," the teacher says.

"Uzaki is a bit of a headstrong person. " I state, causing Uzaki to shoot me a glare showing me she was unimpressed. "You two are a couple then?" The teacher asks. "We actually just found out we both liked each other. " I state. Uzaki then states she thinks she has liked me for a while,but was oblivious to these feelings until recently. This causes me to give Uzaki a side eye look.I ignored my underclassmate and her glare and then looked back at the teacher. "Why must you rat me out like that, Senpai? '' Uzaki mutters.
