Mothers Day
"Bluey, Bingo," Thomas said, waking up his sisters. "Thomas?" They both said tired. "Come on let's make mom breakfast," Thomas said helping Bluey sit up. "What time is it?" Bluey asked with a yawn. "Early and it's Mother's Day," Thomas said now helping Bingo get up. "It is?" Bingo asked now, waking up more. "Yeah, come on," Thomas said now leaving his sister's room. Bingo and Bluey both looked at each other and then got out of their bed. The girls then joined their brother in the kitchen. "What are we making?" Bluey asked with a yawn. "Pancakes," Thomas said with a smile now getting the pancake stuff out. "But their special pancakes," Thomas said while getting out some cake mix. "Cake mix?" Bingo asked confused. "When I was back in the US, we made this in a class I took" Thomas said now getting everything together. "Have you guys ever had cake batter pancakes?" Thomas asked his sisters. Bluey and Bingo both shook their heads as Thomas chuckled. "Well, it's like having cake for breakfast is the best way I can describe it," Thomas explained. "Really?" Bluey asked, now wagging her tail in excitement. "Yep, and I wanted you guys to help me," Thomas said with a smile.
"What about daddy? Isn't he helping?" Bingo asked. "I told him we would handle this to let him sleep more," Thomas said as he opened up the cake mix and pancake mix. The three siblings started to make the pancakes as quietly as they could. As Thomas did the cooking part he turned to his sisters and asked them to go pick some flowers for their mother. Once Thomas was finished with everyone's pancakes and the girls came back inside with some flowers to put in a small vase. "Bluey can you get the orange juice out?" Thomas asked while getting out a tray and a cup. Bluey nodded as she went to the fridge and brought out the juice. "Alright, I think we're all set," Thomas said, putting the food, juice and flowers on the tray. "Is there anything else?" Thomas asked, looking at his sisters. "Wait! We made cards for mum," Bluey said as she and Bingo went to their room. Bluey and Bingo then came back with some cards in their hands. "Okay, let's give mom her breakfast," Thomas said as he took the tray and started to make his way to his parents bedroom with Bluey and Bingo right behind him. "Bingo can you open the door for us?" Thomas asked his youngest sister. Bingo smiled and nodded as she opened the door for her brother. The three siblings then walked into the room.
"Mom," Thomas said softly. Chilli then woke up and yawned before seeing her kids in front of her. "Happy Mother's Day!" Bluey and Bingo shouted. "Aww for me?" Chilli said with a smile as she sat up. Bandit then woke up with a yawn turning over seeing his wife and her breakfast. "Happy Mother's Day babe," Bandit said with a tired yawn. Chilli then looked at her husband and kissed him before turning to her kids. "You guys made this for me?" Chilli asked, feeling her heart being warm. "Yeah, Thomas helped us," Bluey said as she sat on the bed with Bingo beside her. "Thank you son," Chilli said with a smile. "Your welcome mom," Thomas replied. "We made you these," Bingo spoke up handing her mother her card with Bluey also handing her card. "Thanks girls," Chilli said, taking their cards and looking at them. Bandit then stretches and then gets out of bed. "Come on kids let your mum eat her breakfast," Bandit said as he picked Bingo and placed her on his head and carried her to the kitchen. Bluey followed her father as Thomas was about to join them until Chilli stopped her stepson. "Thomas?" Chilli said softly. Thomas stopped by the door and looked at Chilli. "Yeah mom?" Thomas asked. Chilli was a little concerned about her stepson's mental health for the day since this was his first Mother's Day without Emily and she wanted to make sure he was alright. "Are you doing okay?" Chilli asked. "Yeah, if you need anything just let me know," Thomas said with a smile. Chilli smiled back at her son and nodded.
Thomas then nodded as he left the room and joined his father and sisters out in the kitchen. Still in the back of Chilli's mind she worried about her son. Chilli then continued with her breakfast and found it interesting. "Must be Thomas's American way of making pancakes, but they're really good," Chilli thought to herself. After her breakfast Chilli took the tray back into the kitchen where she found her daughters and husband eating their breakfast. "Let me get that for you babe," Bandit said as he took the tray from his wife. "Thank you," Chilli said with a smile. "Where's our son?" Chilli asked as she sat down. "He ate his breakfast and then went for his run," Bandit said while doing the dishes. "Oh, was he okay when he left?" Chilli asked. Bandit then looked at his wife and smiled. "Yeah he seemed fine, why do you ask babe?" Bandit asked. "I just have a feeling he's struggling a bit," Chilli explained. Bandit then went over to his wife and kissed her. "He's fine, he would have said something if he wasn't fine," Bandit said with a smile. Chilli then felt at ease with her husband's words. "Okay, I don't want to feel alone on his day," Chilli said just as Bandit kissed her on the head. "He'll be okay," Bandit said before going to do the dishes.
Meanwhile
Thomas was running while listening to his music until he stopped at a bench. Thomas sat down and caught his breath. Thomas sits there for a moment and thinks about his mom on Mother's Day. Thomas did have his feeling mixed during the day by not spending it with his mom but he knew he had the next best thing. "Happy Mother's Day mom thanks for letting me be with Chilli today." Thomas to himself with a smile. Thomas then walked over to the coffee shop that was near him and bought a cup of tea. While sitting in the coffee shop, Thomas then got out his phone and called his grandmother on his dad's side and wished her a happy Mother's Day. "Hi Grandma, I wanted to wish you a happy Mother's Day," Thomas said on the phone. "Thank you sweetheart," Chris said on the phone. "I just got off the phone with your dad wishing me a happy Mother's Day," Chris added. "I'm glad you also called because I do miss you so much and the girls," Chris said softly.
"I miss you too grandma, I'll see if dad can let me come over and see you," Thomas said with a smile. "I would love that very much sweetheart, how are you doing today?" Chris asked her grandson. "I'm doing good, me and the girls made mom breakfast," Thomas said before drinking his tea. "You did? That's very nice of you sweetheart, give Chilli some love for me," Chris said with a chuckle. "I will grandma and tell grandpa I love him," Thomas said with a smile. "I will sweetheart I love you," Chris said softly. "I love you too," Thomas said and with that they both said their goodbyes and hung up the phone. Thomas then got ready to call his grandmother on his mom's side. "Hi grandma," Thomas said while taking a drink of his tea. "Hi sweetheart how are you today?" Willow asked her grandson. "I'm doing good," Thomas replied. "Good, I was just thinking about you," Willow said as she watered her plants. "I wanted to wish you a happy Mother's Day," Thomas said as he finished his tea.
"Thank you honey that means so much to me hearing from you," Willow said with a smile. "Your welcome grandma," Thomas said as he was getting ready to leave the coffee shop. "I was thinking about your mom this morning," Willow said, kind of choking on her words fighting back the tears of thinking of her daughter. "I was thinking about her too," Thomas said as he sat outside. "How's your dad?" Willow asked. "He's good," Thomas replied. "That's good, how are those beautiful sisters you have?" Willow asked with a laugh. "They're good grandma," Thomas said with a chuckle. "Good, give them some love from Grandma Willow," Willow said with a chuckle. "Sure thing grandma, tell grandpa I love him and miss him," Thomas said with a smile. "I will sweetheart, I love you and miss you," Willow said sitting down. "I love you and miss you too grandma happy Mother's Day," Thomas said saying their final goodbye and thing hanging up the phone. Thomas looked across the street and saw a flower shop. "Mom would like some flowers," Thomas said with a smile as he stood up and walked over to it.
Back at home Chilli was enjoying her day as her husband and the girls made it special but she was missing one dog to make her day better. "Bandit?" Chilli said walking into the kitchen. "Yes babe?" Bandit said, looking at his wife. "Has Thomas been gone a little too long?" Chilli asked worried about her stepson. Bandit then checked his phone and noticed it was about noon and Thomas should have been home by now. "He is running a little late," Bandit said while putting his phone away. "Do you think it's because of me?" Chilli asked with a sad look on her face. "What?! Why would you think that?" Bandit asked. "Maybe he's trying to avoid me because it is Mother's Day after all," Chilli said looking down from her husband. "No, he wouldn't have made you breakfast in bed with girls if he was trying to avoid you," Bandit said, placing his hands on his wife's shoulder. Chilli then looked at her husband and smiled. "Yeah, your right," Chilli said, giving her husband a kiss. Suddenly they heard the front door open and close. "Son is that you mate?" Bandit asked. "Yeah dad," Thomas said from downstairs. "See, he's not avoiding you," Bandit said with a smile.
Thomas then walked up the stairs with a Bouquet of roses in his hand. "Hey mom," Thomas said with a smile. "Thomas you shouldn't have," Chilli said speechless about the roses. "I know it might be a little much, but I thought you might like these," Thomas said, handing the flowers to Chilli. "Like them? I love them," Chilli said, now putting the flowers in some water. "You did good son," Bandit whispered to his son. Thomas smiled knowing he made his stepmoms day with the flowers and breakfast. Thomas then went and took his shower and then joined his family in the living room. Later that day after dinner Chilli was out on the veranda watching the sunset. Thomas then joined her and sat next to her. "Hey mom," Thomas said looking at Chilli. "Hey sweetheart," Chilli said looking at her stepson. "I hope you had a good day," Thomas said looking forward in the yard seeing Bluey and Bingo playing with their dad.
"I had a great day," Chilli said nervously. "What's the matter mom?" Thomas asked. "I was a little nervous today about you and how you were feeling," Chilli confessed. Thomas smiled at Chilli and then sat close to her and rested his head on her shoulder. "You don't have to worry about me mom, my focus today was making sure you had the best day as a mom," Thomas said, still keeping his head on her shoulder. Chilli started to tear up from her son's words. "I just didn't want you to feel alone since you're mums not here," Chilli said as Thomas lifted his head and looked at Chilli. "It does make me feel sad that she's not here but that doesn't mean I can't spend Mother's Day with my stepmom who treats me like her own son," Thomas said with a smile. Chilli smiled letting a tear shed from her muzzle as she hugged Thomas tightly. "Thank you so much son, you and your sisters mean the world to me," Chilli said softly still hugging Thomas tightly.
The End.
Kodiwolf321 A/N: Well guys Chilli had some worries about her son's mental health since it was the first time Thomas would not spend Mother's Day with his mom but he put his feelings aside and make the best of it to spend it with Chilli, yeah he could have been bitter and not have done what he did for her but he knows his mother can't be replaced but Chilli fills the hole of being lonely and alone. I'm just glad he can move on with his life and let Chilli into his life and be a mother to him that he needs. Anyways guys I hope you enjoyed this as much I did making it for you!
