This fic is based on the episode 'Extremely Madeover' from the 2005 cartoon, Bratz.
I do not own Bratz or Miraculous Ladybug.
"Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you, Lila!" Alya praised Lila over and over all, enlarging the latter's ego even more. "Your exclusive interview with Jacob Marcus Evan will shoot my blog through the roof! I still can't believe you're friends with him!"
"Yeah, I went to school with him in Milan." Lila fibbed.
The truth was that Lila overheard Aurore squealing with overexcitement that she just had an one-one-one interview with Jacob Marcus Evan, the young actor and model from the states, the hottest teenaged heartthrob who graced the French scene with his newest movie set in France, rivalling Adrien's place as Paris's prince.
In the five years he had been in the spotlight, he hasn't done one interview, not with a magazine or a website, nothing.
Until now.
Opportunities like this don't come often.
So Lila swiftly stole the USB containing Aurore's interview and passed it off as her own to Alya. "Hey, girl!" Alya cried out to Marinette who just came into the classroom. "Check out my blog!"
Marinette did so on her phone and her face fell.
"Uh, Alya…You need to take this down."
"What?! Girl, I know you're jealous of Lila but don't bring me down for the ride! Because of her, my blog is getting a billion hits!"
"But-"
The arrival of Miss Bustier cut Marinette off, starting the class.
After school, Marinette had given up on telling Alya something important about her blog and left quickly. Alya was too big headed with joy and delight and Lila was thrilled with satisfaction at the blight she caused on Marinette and the praise of her best friend.
Chloé came up to the two, quite angrily, "You have some nerve to pull that stunt!"
Then she strutted off, Sabrina trailing behind.
"What's is she talking about?" Alya asked.
"She's just jealous." Lila shrugged off.
The pair walked onto onto the courtyard where they found themselves the centre of everyone's attention. Everyone had their phones out, pointing at Alya and Lila, whispering, giggling, snickering and for some, laughing.
Especially Kim who was brawling over, clutching his stomach.
"Uh, babe, is this a joke?" Nino asked his girlfriend cautiously.
"Its not a joke! Lila got me an interview with Hollywood's most recluse superstar!"
"That's not what I meant..."
"Ha, this is good!" Alix exclaimed.
"I know, right?"
"No, I mean, its really good!"
"I get the point! Its great!"
"Shut up and listen. Jacob wept with joyous pride as he announced he's having an alien's baby!"

"...Say what?"
"That's what your interview says. I like to fly around on my glittering fruit bat, says Jacob. Hey!"
Lila snatched Alix's phone and read rest of 'her article.'
I collected every toenail I cut and give foot massages to my great-great grandmother every night.
More than anything, I love to boogie on down with the empress of Fiji!
Oh, and I'm Ladybug. Don't my buttocks look big in red?
Lila screamed in rage and threw Alix's phone to the ground, smashing it to pieces before stomping on it for good measure.
"My phone!"
"This is not the interview I gave Alya! It's not even an interview! Alya, you messed it up!"
"No, I didn't! I uploaded it onto my blog! You're the one who wrote it in the first place!"
No, I didn't! Aurore did!"
"Aurore? Aurore wrote your interview?"
"Yes! Now where is that blonde pigtailed goodie two shoes?"
Lila ran out to the entrance of the school and saw two pigtailed girls about to get into a limousine.
"YOU!"
Both girls, fair-haired Aurore and dark-haired Marinette, turned around, each bearing a different reaction. Marinette was confused while Aurore simply smirked.
"Here you are! You traitor!"
"Yes, I betrayed you." Aurore giggled teasingly.
Soon a crowd was trailing behind Lila.
Alya was looking at her phone, reading the comments on her blog and looking like she was going to cry. "Everyone is ripping me apart on my blog! One crazy fan of Jacob threatened to hunt me down and kill me in my sleep!"
"I told you to take it down." Marinette said gently. "I tried all day to warn you but you wouldn't listen."
"T-T-This is Aurore messing with me!" Lila accused. "She lied that she interviewed Jacob Marcus Evan and gave me a fake report to humiliate me!"
Aurore rolled her eyes. "You deal with this lunatic everyday, Mari?"
"Unfortunately." Marinette answered, bored.
Aurore turned to Lila, Alya and the surrounding crowd. "Look, Lila. I did interview Jacob Marcus Evan and I wrote that joke interview."
"Why?"
"To ensure my hard work wasn't taken from me. I was so happy when I was asked to interview Hollywood's youngest recluse, I couldn't keep my excitement to myself. So in case my report is stolen by someone else who wants my scoop, I wrote up a fake interview making fun of Jacob. I told Jacob of my trick before I did it and he agreed. It was a precaution. Don't worry, I have the real one. But I'm not gonna run it until tomorrow. Unlike you guys, I work hard to get where I am. I don't rely everything on someone who talks big but acts little. I figured anyone who takes my scoop would read it first but Alya, you have a tenancy to leap ten minutes before thinking it through. If you'd read the paper first, you wouldn't be in this mess. And you should never trust Lila over your best friend."
Alya felt her heart cracked, guilt of not listening to Marinette eating her up.
"I trusted you! I believe you!" She wailed at Lila.
Lila huffed, not caring at all for Alya's blight. "So what? I can deal with people laughing at me for no reason. It's just a mistake."
"A mistake with serious consequences."
A well-dressed woman stepped out of the limo, handing Lila and Alya sheets of paper.
"Alya Cesaire, Lila Rossi. I am Isabelle Matthews, Jacob Marcus Evan's attorney. In light of your 'humorous' interview, Mr Evan is suing you two for defamation of his person and theft on behalf of miss Aurore Beauréal."
"How is that theft?" Lila demanded.
"Mr Evan only trusted Aurore to do his interview and anyone who possess said interview without Mr Evan's permission is violating his privacy, thus it is theft."
"My parents are gonna kill me!" Alya yelled.
Lila froze, now realising the dire consequences of her action. She was pretty sure she can't hide this from her mother.
"Now we have that matter settled, can we go now please?" An American voice asked, followed by a teenaged boy stepping out of the limo, his appearance sending the crowd into rapture.
"Oh my God!"
"Jacob Marcus Evan!"
"He's even more handsome in person!"
Aurore smirked said, quite proud of herself. "If you read my article, you would know he's starting on a French tour and he wants a stylist close to his age…"
Her words trailed off when her eyes set on Marinette.
"By the way, I never met Lila Rossi before." Jacob said. "I never went to school with her Milan, I don't even speak Italian. I was homeschooled until I was 13 in Maine because of my heart condition."
Alya slapped her forehead, ashamed of herself. "Oh, how can we miss that? It's why he's popular. He became a superstar while battling a serious health issue."
Jacob took Marinette's hands, smiling at her. "My heart is healing whenever I look upon your beautiful face."
She nervously smiled back, blushing.
On the stairs, watching the whole event, Adrien growled.
Why that American weasel- Wait. Why am I jealous?
"But why now?" Alya couldn't help but ask. "Why, after five years, are you doing an interview now? I'm not putting this on my blog, I'm just curious."
Jacob glanced to his lawyer.
"Just tell her. If she posts it, she'll be in more in trouble with the court."
Jacob sighed but nonetheless replied to Alya's question. "I hate interviews, ok? I hate them because I always felt judged and I get tongue-tied and most reporters are so pushy and manipulative, they twist my words around. Aurore treats me with patience and so does Marinette."
"Let's go, kids." Isabelle said.
The woman and three kids got into the limousine and it drove off, leaving behind a stunned crowd.
"You owe me a new phone." Alix said to Lila.
Along with the lawsuit and public mockery, Lila was forced to pay for Alix's new phone.
And Alix picked the most expensive, most difficult to obtain on the market.
