Teen Titans New Generations – The Chaos Round Arc; Part Two -Chapter 22: Live Like We're Dying
/
As the hullabaloo only doubled on Earth, in the clouds, a few regular big -wigs in the heavenly realm of the Celestials had caught wind of a few tidbits of the Titans' newest threat.
A demon- lord of sorts called Lothos had returned.
The pupil of Amaterasu was now victim to the venom that was the wily spider's bite.
A fire- bird had appeared on earth in the form of a frustrated soldier – who's purpose had been lost by her impatience and rage.
As the battles on every corner of the globe continued to pool into an array of shades and colors without borders -due primarily to this invasion by the hands of a few neglected deity from ancient times, back in another realm a few foxes had the eyes of ten thousand beings directly on them.
As if these were gods in total, the relics of every known elemental presence had joined forces to conjure up some remaining faith in their blind- sided kin.
Foxes upon foxes; dogs and whirring emotions were all that could be seen as the elder of the few; a light haired , fairly toned soldier stood up to speak on behalf of his missing mother. His robes were that of a seraph by how a raiment replaced an invisible set of wings. He had gold to his outfit and was of a noble background.
Getting back to the point here…
/
~Lady Sayumon has left me to continue her work. My relative Veravakumu; He said and gestured to the second, a man with dark hair and a slightly standoffish attitude towards the crafty elders of this mysterious council room. ~WE are on the side of the just, the harmonious balance that has been ruptured by old enemies must be addressed, today.~
Veravakumu nodded and came up to the podium to speak; whereas Kay or Kayumon Havaraiti, son of Lady Celestial Sayumon and Sir Hanuman, had to step to the side. His instincts were telling him to stall Verra before he'd have to drag the pup outside later to a agree to disagree.
His inner-self's determination was…. Dogged, to say in a few words or less. He usually found a niche and stuck to it, then collected more data to have more zen -dens to fall back on should anything have gone south…
He was, an intelligence man. Crafty as a fox, wily as a coyote and sharp as a hawk overlooking the air up above him. Verra however, was the alter- aspect of Prince Veravakumu and he'd been left at the gates for good reason. The prince's curse during his earlier years was to house an aspect of darkness that would not listen to reason. He used to be an irresponsible being of the Four Wind Strewn Passages, even in his late teenaged days. Verra only exemplified his already well- known demons.
Now, Kay's relative was taking to talking some sense into the council of the High arch Celestial beings. The ruling class of Kay's home realm. His actually mark would be permanent if Sayu's help faded and failed to sway the council today, as it remained an open topic for debate to keep her at her post.
~WE also, have reason to believe that our foes are after something, or rather someone. ~ The shock came too soon as Kayu tried to step in quickly to fix Veravakumu's mess he was about to leave out in the open. ~Verra, forget the pause next time. These old men aren't fit for any less damned drama fom our kind...~
~Ehem!~
~Prince Kayumon, allow your relative our ears. ~ How Kay hated when Vee had sneaked into his life the first time to take charge like that! Had he known more about the current situation happening on earth, then Kay would not have been coerced by Slade's mysterious employer from the shadows. (Arc two of New Beginning. Go back to it to find out what becomes of Roku's curse and influence over our previously chosen heroes.)
The elderly, Chinese Lucky - God - of - a -council member nodded for Veravakumu to continue. Hi belly bounced as one while he remained clean shaven as any Buddha. His grin was inhumanly so; his title as an immortal not to be tested by these loose- lipped spirit elemental saints.
~A' isn't glad that her children are suffering from one Chosen and his careless decision. We all knew what to expect, yet it may be best to let our common ally fight fire with fire –
~What?~ Kay hissed and threw a hand roughly onto his cousin's back as the god whispered to another beside him on the high seat, while the rest of the council sat in wait, patiently expecting a better outcome to appear out of thin air.
Kay gripped Veravakumu's arm and tried to be as subtle as he could with his whispering words.
~What are you trying at, huh? Don't go getting –
~Shush, Aiden is doing the right thing. But we need to be careful. ~ Vera nudged his relative, then motioned his eye up at the council heads and their impatient gazes.
~Are….Are any Universals here?~ Kayu didn't get his answer as Vee shrugged the other male's arm from his side.
~You can see what this real threat is, what it intends to do. I implore you; do not kill off that which is willing to throw away its life to save multiple worlds –
~You speak of the daemon son, Raku. Child of Azag…~ One other elder who donned a white beard that touched the floor, sat perched on top of a wafting tuft of clouds as his feet were hidden within its wispy walls.
The clouded elder rubbed his chin thoughtfully and then continued to speak, now regarding the fox's past faults.
~ Veravakumu; you were once under his power. Your daemon thrives because of the curse placed onto your life by the tyrant dragon red.~
~I was only cast out from my world due to my teachers not having the ability to exorcise it. ~ Vee sighed and rubbed the back of his neck as he recalled the fight which had split him in two long ago.
~The daemon I carry is just that. It is borderline as a being that cannot be tempted as it already has been. It craves freedom, that's all. Yet the threat on the Earthen plane is prone to madness, to turning and never letting go of that time in space- time. We have only to act –
~You say that the Chosen should be the one to enact such a thought? ~ The happy- god being frowned and turned to another; a third, grey - clad monk with large eyes like a snowy owl. His face was covered by his massive, hooded cowl.
~I say we send word to Lady Isa of your failures. As guardians, you did not address the chosen's protectors. The sun goddess is overcome with grief. The soldier known as Sara Santiago will also look to see why her pupil has sprouted a beak and talons. ~
~She was feeling lost and, none of us tried to understand…We had only to keep the chosen and his siblings safe. ~ Veravakumu leaned onto one knee, then kowtowed in an attempt to thaw the cold faces of these orderlies away.
~I beseech to you - send aid to help the Chosen keep the balance for both out of many of our worlds.~ He had to try. Even Kay got to one knee to request the same.
~The acts that you have been counted in by participating in the crafts of our time, as a human no less, are ones we cannot reward you for. You took magical scrolls to earth as a front to make yourself a part of a society in the Chosen's time. ~ The happy- God figure reprimanded the cat and fox equally.
~If we request one person to lead this war to a close, ~ The owl - eyed male council head spoke up. ~Then it would have to be by the way of our very realm's order. We decided before you'd come to allow a voice to sing out. A boy-Etherea –
~Hakuro?~ Kay gasped as his arm was yanked to stay on his knee a bit longer. ~Wait.~ Vee reminded his cousin as his plan went into overdrive.
~Yes, a fine sacrifice to our cause. ~ The happy god being grinned a wide grin as he happily welcomed the idea.
~So, then why is he not here right now? ~ Vee was going to piss off the council! Kay was close enough to Vera to bonk him, though kept his head down and fists clenched. He let out an exhale. ~Who will be the one to summon the child? –
~I'm already here. ~ The two foxes turned to see that in the darkest space of the council's array of seats. All of them were finally unveiled as a grey cloak was thrown to the ground. A ray of light blocked out the figure's face. He had a similar appearance to the son of Lord Roku, Richard Ainsley. His eyes were cloudier than before. His sight though failing, was not to end this important face in the crowd.
~Ah! Sir Hakuro of the Eastern Passage of Light. ~ The bearded, cloud summoning orderly waved on for the introduction of the underage orderly. ~You know of the events on the Earthen plane, I take it? ~ The bearded one asked as the light eyed teen boy brushed back a stray strand of hair from beside his ear. His tangible presence here was an eyesore to some. The dogs did not seem amused. Even after Sayu had told the young Ethereal about the matter of a few ungrateful gods and goddesses thinking to make earth their second haunt.
He turned his attention towards the foxes a bit more; straying away a bit from his superiors' eager faces.
~I have reason to believe that my counter – elemental self will soon be seen and heard. ~ Hakuro announced this aloud, and had the guardians confused over his intel. The bearded male council head shook his mighty skull.
~Impossible! The aspects of that draconic killer are dead! They did not have the right to return then, nor ever shall they earn such a privilege from the gods! ~
~I don't think dying was what the red dragon's soul has done. ~ Verra wasn't sure whether to feel threatened by Hakuro's voice, or to be in favor of working with the cold child who did not play well with others.
He had a home world in a pocket of space time that was as bleach white as an asylum room not even taboo to the underbelly of Hollywood. Hakuro had also been a relic with a tragic past, yet he was treated as an isolated V.I.P.
He'd been summoned to aid Prince Rokuro when his life had been very bleak. In the past, Hakuro had been of a noble family in the clouds. His past- lived Ethereal state was due to no longer having much to do as a cooped-up security guard – now, he watched over the channels of his realm and never left unless a real emergency arose.
This must have been dire then, or Sayu had tricked the daemon boy from his cozy niche, having only enough gall to send her son and his playboy cousin to this realm for questioning instead of going there herself.
She was a fox; an established believer in 'kill or be killed.' A parting gift from her experience as a once -corrupted council woman of the same courts (in which the two dog relative males now stood to notify their betters of unquestionable dangers that Earth's plane of existence now posed.)
Mostly -a threat to their peace. Not a positive. The intangible ones' peace of mind was more important up here in this mock version of Heaven.
Verra; as an aspect of the dark world below and a longtime associate of the reaper's, wasn't too happy with the outcome. Aiden had not broken anything, yet Raku had flown away from his interrogators and had gone to Earth, without a guide. But…How?
~Guessing from your expression, Veravakumu, we have decided to let you return to Earth as a fair warning. ~ The boy Hakuro threw his gaze over to the long-bearded official.
~Reconsider you answers, sires! –
~You are here to understand all that must be accomplished, for to-day. ~ The owl - eyed male spoke up with a cheeky grin. ~As a young Lord of Light, you too are to go along to Earth with these allies to our cause –
~Never! They'll contaminate the light he carries! ~ The happy god figure protested. ~As a relic, Hakuro must no again travel to the earthen plane of existence! He will not make the journey! -
~Then who's going to get through to Aiden? The Chosen worked with you; he is connected –
~He enticed me, as all power- sources own this power. ~ Hakuro grumbled as his eyes dimmed by the memory of Aiden stretching out his hand to the Ethereal being.
~They are known to instill peace in the way they can unite worlds. As in the past, before the dragon had corrupted his son, we too knew of this ability. ~ The cloud bearded male replied to his younger audience.
~I would only be starved if you were to have me help these…These questionable men! ~ Hakuro pointed a finger Kayu's way. ~That prince there is cursed! His ally is a prince who was too prone to being manipulated by that dragon! I won't have a chance on that plane with those two –
~Letting not I decide your fate, yet the Universals have spoken true through we officials. ~ The owl eyed man interrupted his singing saint of a canary from speaking out of turn.
~The beings above us know of this fated belief. They say it helps all the good to prosper in the world by exposing the truth -for this we must follow their laws well or risk our own needs being discarded and our worlds turned to ash as before. ~
~What? ~ Kayu looked to Vee for a answer to all that cryptic mumbo – jumbo the elder was spouting.
~If he goes with us, we will promise to return Hakuro to his place once the mission is finalized. ~ Vee bowed his head slightly and waited for Hakuro to go off again as before in protest. He didn't. The council was his ball and chain. In a way. Rokuro had requested the Ethereal to free him as Raku had been freed from his lonely fate by Lady Lilu. It was universally a tempting offer to escape. All but Catalina Daia, or even Anna, who'd accidently found a loophole in the system she was under.
If a loss of ones' dignity was what was equal to the cost of ones' freedom, then Hakuro had forgotten what that freedom tasted like. Long ago under the last two Chosen beings, he had helped to break from their vicious cycles.
~Fine, then you must be willing to keep me from the ones destroying the Chosen's plane. ~ Hakuro demanded. Negotiating with the dogs was easy. Their loyalty was a split matter. After all, both were in fact part fox.
~Then, we have no need to continue this debate. ~ The owl eyed man put up a bony finger to lastly add;
~Should the child Raku return to his ways, dispose of him. That is, unless the Chosen first loses control then you must return him to the cycle. ~
~We will not let Aiden's body be overtaken again. ~ Vee reassured his compatriots in spirit. ~The shadow Aiden carries is gone, but we know that he's not as vulnerable as he seems to our allies of the many channels. ~
The bearded man allowed the doorway to the foxes' and Hakuro's exit to expand. ~Then prove to we of the Celestial divide and otherwise, that your loyalty should not be in question to our council or to its olden ways. Go, and do not return until this matter is through.~
~Thank you, we shan't let you down. ~ Vee bowed again, then turned first tail towards the exit. Hakuro flew over by levitating beside the dogs, until he'd seen the end of their path through that gateway.
Kayu stayed beside Vee as the brooding pooch had trouble accepting that they'd just taken on a major role! Hakuro was something of a good luck charm to the spirit beings and their peaceful means. If anything became of him, the fox would be disowned and stripped of his nine tails for good.
~Earth is going to look upside down, according to Aria's reviews –
~Earth, is just the first stop on our one way trip to crazy -town. ~Vee smirked with a dishonest grin to his ally. ~We have one pick up to make, then it's off to see how many points we can score with the big wigs, ya dig?~
/
Kaede had only to find the time to stuff Ami away in the safest space she'd known to travel to. The temple of the rising sun. This had been a first meeting place for she and the last Chosen.
(The Titans had gone to Japan to save Ami- Chan once before. In the post arcs; when the Titans met the miko's assigned foxes and Manifesto had come out from the shadows, etc , etc, back into it!)
She reverted unfortunately, to her guise as a 'tom-boy of a high school student' upon her arrival to the deserted temple. Her magic still drained until sunrise, the fox would have to fend off any demons from the temple until dawn, hopefully when Ami would be..
~She's like this, because I could not protect her…~ Sighing at her impressive losing streak, Kaede came to her knees and leaned over the sleeping fourteen year old miko in her care. ~Forgive me, Haru….I wasn't strong enough to prevent –
"Hello?~
Kaede's ears perked up as the voice had come from by the doorway to the temple. Someone was able to pass through the goddess's barrier?
Her fangs were clean and sharp, ready to nip back at any uninvited guests from about those streets of her once – resilient Tokyo.
"I- I…Gomen, Gomen! Was this a bad time…? ~(typos, will fix when I am able!)
The being spoke so, apologetically, that it almost confused poor Kaede. "I heard the signal! I was sent by the godd-
"Stay back!" Kaede snapped at the voice in the doorway.
"Please! You have to listen to reason –
"Reason dictates that you are trying to trick me. I am not a fool to let go of my post this quickly, demon!"
The voice soon let out an abrupt, giggle. It was enough to leave Kaede defenseless.
She, she somehow knew that laugh…
"Ah! I'm so very sorry, if then you'd allow me to explain from this doorway?"
"What…. Are, you…." Kaede was in a state of shock. That wonderful voice….Could it be? –
"Ehem! I'm from the clan of the proud, Ookami. My name is Ohtori Koko -Chan. We, oh!...Ah, actually?... You've not heard about me from –
"No." Kaede slumped. She'd been wrong. Haru, wasn't coming back.
"Ah, you are the fox -delinquent! I knew it!"
Kaede raised her head, her face red as a pepper from being called that, by her alter- body's appearance.
"I... I don't –
"Kaede SEMpai!~ The fox was at a loss. The door was thrown back as a shorter, cute – as - a - button miko of the Ookami clan with big droopy ears, a ceremonial garb of white, blue, red and black, and eyes so big that they could melt away your cloudy day, came barreling towards Kaede on all fours. Shoe-less of course to maintain traditional standards.
She doubled over as Koko acted more puppy than person in her form.
"Agh! How…How do you know my name? –
"Oh!" Koko blinked and stood up quickly, blushing as she pulled herself together and brushed back her white and dark brown ears. "Your younger sibling was in my third period class! Do you not remember? Oh, my…Where is –
"She…Is not here." Kaede cut off the cute wolf -pup's questioning.
"Then…Eep! You need a doctor! But, not to fret!" Koko plucked out from her tail a few detailed necessities. Kaede gawked at the bashful pup's timing.
"In my clan, I am a healer! Isn't that wonderful? Amaterasu - Hime called me in as an 'aide in service' to reunite with the saviors of this plane! It can only be fate! –
"I don't need healing, she –
Koko gasped at the other mortal being in the room.
"Her aura is going crazy! No amount of mugwart can undo this amount of damage." Koko turned to Kaede with her eyes full of concern for the younger child's condition. "Allow me to investigate the cause –
"She was bitten by a soul stealer. One called Lord Lothos."
Koko's ears drooped, then perked up as she gasped again. "I…. Wait! A vampire? A myth – born, Immortal? Whoa -whoa! How –
"ARE you going to heal her or not? Why have you here instead of a 'gifted' mind! Someone who's willing to do the impossible to save my charge! We are not going to last the night at this rate…" Kaede groaned and tried to summon up a small ounce of her magic to keep herself balanced. Her aura was a wreck as well... She winced from the after- bite of her abilities. "Too soon, the barrier must hold until morning…. Haru could have….-
"Is Haru-Chan off in the west? Where is she? You kitsune work in pairs according to my research –
"She's perished! Just…. Please!"
Kaede came to her worst conclusion of the matter. She needed Koko to cooperate. Even if, she was a very energetic being, Kaede could not hold up this ruse for much longer.
"So, I see…" Koko was quiet a moment. Her ears drooped in silence for her fallen ally.
"Then we must first strengthen this strong - hold." The wolf child said right back without blinking back a single tear.
"You cannot use any high - magic power; you must be joking." Kaede scoffed and went back to keeping an unconscious Ami company. Koko was not really supposed to be, here. She must have gotten the message wrong. What a child, but….
Ami, needed time to heal and she…Kaede looked at her human form's hands and shook with such fright in her heart. ~I wanted to know if Haru truly wished for me to do as she had, to watch over this child of my Hime…. How do I do this?-
"I'm here, so please!" Koko went onto her knees to kowtow in front of the elder fox.
"You cannot do this; Ami is doomed if I fail her…. You can do no –
"At least you have someone to look after! If, if Haru saw us both now, she'd say to work together!"
Kaede spun around as her tails lit up as will -o- wisps. "Haru -nii cannot SPEAK! She is done on this earth! I wish to leave but…Not until this feeling has left my heart. That Ami- chan can change we of spirit - kind to see that the humans…Hold more purpose than our kin may well know of the mortal -bound!"
Koko scrunched up her face then burst out laughing. "Ha-ha! WE are exactly what Haru -chan expects! You care about the humans. There is no shame in that feeling. The girl; Ami, she looks up to you."
Kaede had fought a demon book, an evil side to her depression, against a mad deity of 'Shame/Mockery' (Momus) and of Sleep, (Hypnos.) She pushed back a lock of her long silvery hair and wept. "Ami will die if I cannot continue to protect her! She, she is young…I…I am her protector! If…. Sniff! *…If Amaterasu – Hime did in fact send you to help, then please…Do you carry a way to save her…Ami -Chan's life force?"
"Duh! I'm a high-level healer for my clan! That is why you can trust me! –
"Then come over to her side." Kaede motioned the wolf to come a little bit closer. Ami's body was as ice yet she slept, dreaming of God knows what her mind would conjure up. Every hour was closer and closer now to sun down. Still, Kaede was dead set on keeping young Ami alive.
Looking over the fox's arm, Koko took the first step as she got back her courage, walking slowly up towards the slumbering miko teenager.
"It was a deep wound. I can see that she's still fighting it. That is –
"She is protecting herself from that, maniac's poison." Kaede finished with a gulp. With a huff, Koko also tried to do her best to stay calm.
"Ami's sibling also lost control of her powers that had been granted to her by the Fire- Bird." Kaede told her new ally.
"You speak of the southern protector?"
"Yes." Kaede replied, satisfied no more than the rap* rapping of hands and palms against the temple gates. The dead-eyed humans were getting ready to storm the shrine's many walls.
"You can make up a barrier, I'll send my energies to you. The rest will be to heal your charge." As if a more serious wolf pup had replaced the hyperactive one, Kaede allowed Koko's plan to work - as long as it worked to save everyone, including Ami -Chan.
Koko cleared the air first; a very specific bunch of stones and relic statues from her rucksack were placed all over the room.
As she chanted so very softly and let her power seep through layers of the fox's thick fur, Kaede relished in the feeling of having her strength back.
Luckily, Koko had come with much to add to the elder kit's solution; she was a beacon as Amaterasu had intended.
"Now, I will chant the spell to help us see just where the damage on this girl is." Koko explained to Kaede as she continued to hold her mystic's stance. "Stand by the space where I have placed the mother goddess symbol." Koko directed as Kaede took to the wolf's orders. She was not yet out of practice, yet this was why humans could be a bother. As fascinating as they were to God- beings like the Kitsune, the humans were troubling as far as how a cluster of gems was to a beady- eyed crow.
/
Raku's confusion was overwhelming. He thought he'd be dismissed by Aiden much sooner, yet the blonde hero's child had stuck to his word as promised. Nothing had been lost yet.
Even risking his friendships with others just to keep the Djnn's offspring safe, Aiden had betrayed his family to keep their pact in line….
He was the ' butt of everyone's jokes' as the humans said to one another.
Ava looked on and used her eyes to find the demon vamp's weak points. Chris wasn't here. Ami was in her own second home someplace far off from Jump City.
~Ice barrage; alight the fire's energies and thaw it to pieces! ~ Not her strongest spell, yet it would hold Anna still long enough to address her, tantrums. She pinned down Anna as best she could, but this fiery place was painful to be in. The energies of the moon were very weak here.
Aiden was tired of waiting, yet Raku nudged the blonde to get into the fire, to let it call to him just to fix what he'd done to Anna's shattered psyche.
"I can't!" Aiden turned to Raku who peered into the eighteen year old male's with more determination than the blonde had seen in a very long time.
~You must, or she will forget. And if she forgets, she will come apart. Ava is not without her flaws. She, she is of ice….and they –
~AAAAHH!~ Anna dropped Ava's attack as her wings shot off fire into the white-haired elder sibling's face.
"Look out!" Connor shot over to block the shot, though flew back as well . This flame, it wasn't a normal fire…
"What's she doing?" He coughed and waited for someone to fill in the blanks.
"Gar! Get word to the Titans; we have a berserker-situation! ~ Cy came flying after the teens in the sky and after Kori. He could only help her to send that bat- demon to the earth again. Were Dick and the others back in Japan? Where the heck was this mess going to turn up? New York!?
/
Aiden bit his lip till it bled. "I….I can't….I did this! She won't let me through. You can use someone else for –
"You are MY chosen!" Raku's eyes lit up as he shoved Aiden away again. 'If you must fight, then DO IT NOW! She will burst into infinite flames if you stand still any longer!
"Like the Phoenix…" Raven gasped and shot up after Kori when she'd realized those words too late.
"Dudes! Not cool! Wait up!" Gar took to joining the fight as the senior Titans tried to stop the fire- fight from worsening. They weren't having such luck in doing so.
~Are you blind, brat? The fire in her chest is a ticking time- bomb as they say!~ Grinned Lothos; as he laughed from the skies above, waiting for Aiden to jump in so he too could bear the weight of this dying earth's last plea.
~You…...Sickness, be quelled!~ Wiz Greg or rather, Ardius, Used his same staff to stun the vamp, yet his only success was the demon's left arm that now hung temporarily limp before his enemies.
"Nice, but one problem. How do we stop Ann from going kaboom!?"
Gar was hysterical; the fear of a life being lost too soon…
"Anna! I'm coming!" Kori swam through the clouds and barreled right into Lothos. He fell to the dusted earth as her star bolts would have left the villain in a massive heap.
~I cannot die yet again! I want to see some fireworks happen! Celebrate the countdown! Ten! Nine!~ He laughed as loudly as the Joker; Aiden finally taking to his sibling as she breathed heavily in and out in her new form. Anna's feathered arms and whole chest were now completely glowing full of that energy she could not dispel.
The rage he'd instilled in her. He had to fan the flames, or else….
"Fine, it's for Anna….no, I…am sorry….-
Raku turned to Aiden with his eyes a bit less menacing than before. "She is your family. I will wait, go to them."
Aiden nodded, then took to where Connor and Zan were still standing still on the ground. "He's not the enemy, but he's important…. So don't let anything –
"Where are –
"You had better not fly off the handle too." Connor warned the blonde chosen as a last piece of warning. "I've been there. Almost hurt my team and my dad. You had better be the better man. Go, we'll watch your friend." Connor nodded back as Aiden thanked his companions before shooting off into attack mode after the senior Titans of earth.
"I thank you for that." Raku looked up at Connor who gave the demi – son an odd look. "You are not trying to control him anymore. That's a step in the right direction. Just don't disappoint us."
"Hey, well…" Zan seethed as if Superboy's words were a bit stronger than the spirit - born kid needed to hear. "Aiden is stuck right now, we gave him a push but the rest is his to work on." She said as clearly as she could muster.
"I agree." Raku smiled up at Zan; who for some reason could not cool down once she'd peered into that kid's eyes. Magic, it had to be!
~It's why he's still so dangerous. He WAS once one of the first power- sources.~ She reminded herself.
/
Aiden was afraid to touch or reach out to his sibling. He'd never been this nervous around her. Flashes of their sixth birthday party, the first day back to school in eighth grade. The summer they'd spent up in Montreal for his mom's work….
She was so far away….He had to get brighter!
"Aaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaaa!~ Aiden started to change. As he did so, Raku began to glow and shake with sweat running by his small dark brows.
~What?" As he looked at his palms, the red markings of an old text appeared. Now? No, no! He had to stall…No…!
"What's up with his powers?" Connor growled at the tween, then at Zan as her magic started to envelope her. "Some…..Something!...Run!"
Raven as well; her light magic turned monochrome as she fell to the ground and cried out.
Gar transformed into a snake, then a boar, then a t- rex as his shock was unable to settle either. Ava's magic almost crushed her fingers; sticking them to a chunk of ice she'd conjured up to stop Lothos's plan.
It was a trick. This was it. The real ringleader was coming.
Kaien guarded his energies as best he could, yet the chaos magic was too strong.
Cy lit up like a charismas tree on the Fourth of July. Anna screamed so loudly, that Kori fell to the Earth - unable to find her wings to break HER fall. Wiz Greg had to throw up a barrier around those who could still cast a protective stance on themselves or any others.
~It is tiiime!~ Lothos cackled and rushed towards Anna. Aiden shot out a fire bolt from his sword before his poor body became as heavy as lead. From the corner of the blonde's eye, his twin sibling was knocked out and taken through an open portal; just as Ami, she'd lost her freedom as the monster seemed to care very little over what became of the two or their time here on Earth.
~Farewell, for my chaotic queen hath risen, and I intend to greet her! Have yourself a blast, heroes…The very LAST Chosen is all yours!~
/
As the last drill went off; alarm bells ringing in every direction throughout the council realm's halls, Vee and his allies saw that the rest of the gods and daemon folk had been called on without their own knowing of the true threat that had been left back on earth.
As naturally as a fox could sneak into an unguarded hen house, the two; Kay and Veravakumu slipped back into their godly – forms. Hakuro shook his head right behind and had a hard time keeping up with the dogs' lightning-fast reflexes. He'd remained in his same body, though it was corporeal more so than earlier.
~Why must you leave me here? Hey! ~
~Hush up! ~ Kay threw a finger over his lips to indicate that they all had to remain undetected while inside the Eternal's void.
~Wh- You two are being unreasonable here-
~If we end up in the dungeons again, who knows what could happen to your counter –
~I am not attached to that devil in any way! ~ Hakuro said, finding the remark to be a slap in the face.
~Don't try it, Kay. ~ Vee sighed loudly and decided to use the shadows and his abilities to get the three safely to the room with the most channel - transports.
~Lady Light isn't here, is she? ~ Hakuro let his eyes wander towards the next few doors ahead of them. ~She guards the channels in her home realm. Yet who is in charge in the Eternal's dimension? ~
~Won't know that until we try first, right? ~ Vee grinned and used his arm to cast a spell over the few he had working together beside him. Kay looked on, dumbly trying to decide if he even wanted to bloody know who was behind that door. Hakuro seemed interested yet reluctant to go ahead any further. Of course, his known kind were very private with their emotions. Another way Rokuro had learned to coax Hakuro from his space was through his promises, yet the kid was older only still by his marked body. He had nothing left to lose.
Kay's family kindred were something between anxious, self-conscious and defensively unjust when provoked – then lastly, hell bent on proving you were always, no matter what, 'dead wrong with your views.'
They acted as their classes did dictate. In a way, Verra was glad his mother had been as Raku's own mother. A woman born to and from a long line of hereditary witches in Ancient India. The spirit world there had seemed more as a second earth in the past than a place for the reborn and dying to embrace and reflect on their continuing lives.
He was half a daemon's son there and born to a woman who was actually half earthen bound. Verra had a past he'd kept from the child of that dragon (Azag's exiled kin) as carefully as he was able to. Yet, Hakuro wanted to believe that Vee and Kay were not going to harm the cautious Ethereal's plans. Or this mission, he'd have to trust them both.
~ I'm going to create a distraction. Right now, something has alerted the guard that there is a breach or brake in their so- called order here in Cloud Ville. ~ Vee looked on as his body changed to that of now a wolven form in midnight black. His eyes were a tad darker, almost red with jet in their centers.
~You can't be serious, here? That form is not willing to stay put and you know it! ~ Kay rioted at his cousin in protest, shock filling his grey eyes as he worried about the beast getting loose a third time.
~ You are startin' to sound like Cy -you think Beast- man is any different? ~ Vee chuckled before making sure the spell he'd cast had been maintained well after the fact.
~ I'm the bloomin' voice of rea-
~Hey! You three! ~ The kit clicked his tongue in annoyance and went right after the hapless guard, left to the jaws of the wolf off midnight black fur -eyes of ruby and onyx.
~Oy! Are you mad, dog- boy! ~ The pooch was serious as his teeth ripped the man's spear out of his grip and snapped it in two with a growl between his massive pointed teeth. CHOMP! CHOMP!
~He's making this look very messy, I have been cleared of my sin –
Augh! Let go! ~ Hakuro was hoisted up by Kay as he took to the distraction and prayed, that they'd make it to earth in time.
~Give em' a real rodeo. We have got to leave it all up ta' you! ~ Kay chuckled aloud and soon ran as fast as he could with the kicking brat over his shoulder, his eyes on the only way out of this boring old space.
The night had died as the sun had begun to rise in the skies outside. The cloud cover too had been reduced to less and less, as the capital awoke from its hours of inactivity to the gongs of a terrible coming on the horizon.
Kay knew that Vee was not going to go down without being the first to make his mark. However –
~That's far enough, Guardian. ~
Kay had made it as the door slammed shut. He'd lock it out for now temporarily. Vee was in for a real wake up. Oh boy. That had just been ….
/
The guards had come out by the dozen to stop the wolven figure with jet black fur and red eyes. Thinking it a familiar sight, the one to lock their eyes next on the fox and his posse was a figure from the Eternal Underground.
~Lady Aluehainyu of the Eternal Courts…... ~ The guards backed away as soon as Vee had been subdued properly with the great leader Alue's helping hand.
~Fox, you recall our time once before? ~
~I do, nice to see you too, how's life as an overseer these days? ~
~Usually, it takes time for a candidate to love their title. As did it seem the way for your position. You turned it down. ~ Alue came closer on her wings of a raven to see just what the cat had hidden under all of that blackness.
She was somewhat fair in tone; her eyes were as her hair, pink with tones of magenta to them. Her gown was gothic yet freeing as far as her position beside some of the top daemon and deity in the entire spirit realm.
She wore black and had grown half an inch, now he could only see this since the fox had last met with this vividly drawn creature of mystery and woe only years ago. It had been a long time to grow out your hair as she had done this once again to prove her power to her kin. Her aura was as a magenta flame that was to smoke, not fire. It danced about her frame and made poor Vee know he'd be powerless until she was satisfied with a quick explanation.
~ I was summoned to seek out Lord Dreamwake. ~ She said to Vee as he awaited the rest of her decision. Hang him out to dry, or keep him here and force that magic over his head as a fifty-ton boulder!
~Is Dreamwake no longer in the Eternal realm? ~ Vee asked the pink haired empress, slowly. Not wanting to step on any toes.
~ Lord Dreamwake is here; he called us to meet. I don't think he sent an invite to the guardians. ~ She shrugged.
~ Ah, so then he's not in this hall? We were also here on official Guardian business –
~With whom? ~ Alue looked out to the hallway, seeing if the dog had been trying to fool her as he'd done in the past.
~My, my Cousin Kayumon and one other. He's new so we have a mission that concerns getting to earth to warn the –
~You are far too late in doing so. ~ Frowned Alue, as her eyes grew serious. ~Your charge was already in contact with the one we are trying to stop. We've had no such luck-
~If you go to earth, you might just get that –
~Are you willing to forget? ~ Alue's energies pushed the fox to revert to his god- male's form. His cheek had rug burn from the tiles of that grand hall way. Unbelievable!
~I'm in no position to lose my heart back in that deadly place! ~ She shook her head and was going through a very likely case of PTSD.
~You are way off, duchess of Neverland! ~ Vee's comment made the temperamental witch's aura expand as it pushed the guards around them to their knees. Her fists shook and her frame along with it.
~I…Could dismantle that body of yours for you, I was not called here to start a war –
~Right! Cause' there's already one happening – on EARTH! ~ He barked in the terribly twisted sorceress's face.
~I…. Cannot go. ~ Alue took a deep breath and stuffed back down her emotions as she'd been taught. ~Find someone else, I cannot cast enough of a curse on your enemy. My magic is already keeping the barrier surrounding –
~Question; you know where the enemy is…And you didn't tell us?~
~As for the good of my elders, we had to prevent –
~You only made it worse!~ Vee's form grew stronger, but Alue's magic was more so here due to her element.
Fire, fated to flatten the dog in one hit. She still shook, he was pushing her too far…!
~It was to be done! There…. There wasn't anything any of us could do to oppose their laws! ~ She begged herself to calm down, to stop this before -
~WHO!? ~ Growled the male, loudly. ~Who is doing this to you? I want you to spill! ~
~Guards! ~ Alue ducked away and left the men to take care of this minor annoyance.
~Enough out of you idiots! ~ Vee blew the men back with a staff from his pocket in time display. He knew magic, martial arts, and how to put a princess in her place. Not the best example of a rogue, yet he'd been royalty before and this was not right!
~Something isn't right…Alue never runs away. I don't like that feeling at all! ~
~Hyyyaaa! ~ The guardian in Veravakumu charged into battle, as the rest unfolded on some other strange plane…...Beneath the earth's very core.
/
Hypnos had Dick Grayson subdued once again. Though this time, he was going to use the male to gather a missing prize lost for their Captain of Chaos.
Momus yawned and stretched out on a bench overlooking the deserted Japanese shrine of the Solar Maiden Amaterasu -Hime.
~They say that she can speak through her disciples. Quite the opposite in our neck of the woods, don't you agree –
~I am already nearly through playing baby – sitter for this princess! ~ Momus rioted on at his sibling anxiously. ~ She has us taking care of grown men, vaporizing dogs and cats! What's next? Lawn care and pool maintenance for the ridiculously wealthy? I'm boring myself to death with this fabulously WASTED opportunity! I want an actual title; Jack the Ripper…Oh! The Hanged Man! That's what I want –
~Yow! ~ Momus shouted out as conked on the skull by his angry partner. He rubbed his skull and frowned up to his elder, blood relative.
~Face it! Ares and his little pet are just losing track of the original goal! ~
~We were freed by the magic of the woman you call, wasteful. ~ Sniffed the lord of dreams as his own ego was pierced through by the other's sharp-tongued remarks.
~Yes, yes. You and I have the easier jobs, which makes them less important! We are a distraction, nothing more! ~
~For a bunch of criminals from another world, you sure know how to run your enemies into the ground. ~
Dick snorted from the side as Momus felt his ears grow hot.
~I'm going to rip that damn ego out of you yet, chosen reject! ~
Richard shook his head wearily and laughed a little over this mindless debate. ~Are you saying that enslaving everyone in Japan is, boring? I thought you were a big shot. Turns out, you are just a spoiled brat even from a separate dimension. Even in hell they have nuts like you –
~Gah! Shut him up! Shit! Why is he not fast asleep!? Hynooos! ~
~That's the last I shall hear from you! Sleep! ~ Hypnos sent his magic to will the angsty red head to bed down on his bench -bed, while Richard wondered how Hypnos had not….
~I'm not allowed to make you dream. You'll be seeing them soon anyway. ~ The god was tired as he sat down and began to meditate in a half- dreaming state. Richard was tied up with magical bonds. His eyes were wide open and only to see that a hoard of zombie sleep walking citizens was headed for the shrine the two damned deity had been watching from a few steps back.
All Richard must have been thinking of in that time was whether he should continue to bicker over who's was bigger, but in the meantime-
~Kori, I really hope you made it back safe without me…Damn it…Ami's in danger here and I lost my drive when –
~As of now, you'll have to keep focusing that energy. ~
Richard turned around; or rather, he was inside of his own head with an uninvited guest pushing him to fight back. ~Who's here! ~ He demanded to know from where his mentality still had him standing tall enough to duel the intruder.
~Ah, how men cling to their pride. Been there, done it all Boy -blunder. ~
As his eyes widened, the face soon revealed itself from beneath a hooded cowl of amethyst and darkness incarnate.
~ I recognize you. ~ Dick breathed in as he felt the air drop in temperature all around him.
~ Vespa. ~
/
As she waved round her scythe in front of the estranged cop, Vespa's living body seemed to keep hidden form those unworthy of dealing with 'a reaper's up- and- coming – assistant - and - vassal of Hades.
~She could be dead soon. You are the gods' very perfect example of what was once portrayed to those children as a power source. ~ The woman lazily, or easily, sent her scythe up above into the air before catching it right at the rod with one hand outstretched.
~You are wasting my time and losing out on doing what Nightwing was meant to accomplish, here on earth-
~I don't need to be lectured by a traitor from Verra's family ties. ~ Dick tried to keep his ground.
Vespa sneered; it was meant to threaten the non- believer to join her cause, yet he was too blind to see what she had to offer in turn...
~The cat is the one who's done wrong to his own brothers, not I. ~ Vespa shot back, as she let her 'staff' do the talking.
~YOU are going to witness another death in the family* if you DON'T get up and wake up…Right now!~
Dick HAD awoken covered in sweat on top of the stonework bench, where Momus lay unaware of what Lord Hypnos had done.
He still had time to turn this party - wagon around. Richard cracked open one eye while keeping his gaze hidden from Hypnos' narrowed pupils.
He looked half asleep also, maybe he could do with a cat -nap on the job…
~The witch is taking her time…Yaaawn! ~ Hypnos was ready to pull the cover of night over his own eyes. ~Must, stay active…. Why –
~You let us in too soon, misfit master of chaos. ~
"Vespa!" Still, Dick had his eyes peeled on the two; his arms finally recovering and his chains unwound around his frame.
~I know this will take its toll. ~ Hypnos gasped and was wide awake by the lady -reaper's words of warning.
~Awaken, my deliberate followers!~ He waved his arms in a circular motion as the zombie mortals who'd been entranced by his magic found their way towards the death -scythe wielding fox.
~Have it your way! ~ She snarled at left her human -form body to reclaim a new guise that resembled Aria's majestic fashion sense combined with Verra's darker palate choices.
Her long mane cloaked her well as its wavy energy created a fine array of shadow and smog to confuse her enemies.
~Under Lord Chrono's decree, I will not allow you to take over this plane or any other!~
She swung her blade and as the first cut went down, Momus acted while rising as a puppet from its strung resting place on the stage's left.
~Uh, Such an ugly witch! Go away! Minions! See to her disposal! I command you! Attack the witch!!~
The zombies now acted as if tugged by strings. They went in for the kill while Vespa did her best to deflect the human puppets without doing so much as knocking them unconscious. She swung her pale blade over towards the jester, while he jumped up and had the energy to face her one on one.
~Heee Heeeeeee! Too late, halfhearted carrier pigeon! ~ He tutted in a cat -crouched position by another bench in the way. ~Sigh… How is that groggy grandpa? Did he seethe at the very mention of our plans? We are freelancing, here! This realm is our canvas to paint as our hearts see it fit to beeee! ~
~Then remember where your loyalties SHOULD lie, you crooked! –
Hypnos had gotten the upper hand as he grouped together a hoard to go after Vespa from out of nowhere. They flew at her as ninjas from a high-rise platform.
Dick summersaulted out of the way of some flying debris; the rioting man- child Momus laughed maniacally and threw the benches around towards his foes. Richard rode out the daemon's taunting and made his way quickly over to help out his supposed ally, Vespa. Back-to-back, the two worked on trying to focus on the real enemy before the misfit deity could evoke all hell on the temple where Ami was lying still…
Hypnos had to take a nap, but Momus was a bother. Who should take the fall first?
/
Cici quietly led herself in to the tangible kitchen that Lady Eris had set to the side for her new pet to tend to.
As soon as she'd been out of reach of any overlooking eyes, she pulled the apron she'd been forced to don off of herself. Her eyes knotted tightly shut, she next drew towards the floor and the reflection of a maiden who'd been sworn into this vengeful life. ~Eris is also bent on destroying someone she once respected…~ The scowl looking back was her own; her eyes golden and her dress too pretty for a simple priestess to wear to a dinner party.
~Raku…. He'd taken away both women's freedoms…And that…That, Lisa! Why was she not looking for a way to do as the gods had taught her? She was supposed to do away with the dark witch of Dodona! How? ~
~My sibling is dead, she'd have gotten to me faster…She would have agreed that this punishment…~ Cici looked at her hands as her face fell; her make up anything more than smeared, while her lips were bitten to death out of worry and…. Oh, that….
~That apple…. ~ She touched her own face and gasped softly, thinking of the taste of cherries and a soured relationship with that…...Putrid wraith!
~I…...I…. Argh!~ Cecilia Crescendo's eyes were a-light with anguish, rage, and betrayal. Not to herself, yet to her once sworn intentions of freeing both she and her sibling from this torment.
She started to put together the meal; yet not in the frilly thing her 'Mistress' had prided, yet in her blackest gown that only her great – ancestors might have worn before a coming, eclipse.
~He's coming, here. Yet, Llith could only pry. Only…~ She sprinkled in a dash of spice to the stock she was preparing with magic. Her powers had to be good for something other than making the other witch feel superior.
~Raku will dine with us, and I shall be the one…~ She took up with her abilities a cleaver too large for her delicate fingers and SLAPPED it down over a large swordfish's throat. ~Who shall save that little fish from drowning into the deep…. He'll be cleansed, properly. ~ She removed the bloody blade and discarded it to the sink -a nice touch since this was supposed to be a false image that acted as a place to plan a deadly surprise attack.
She brought together a pretty salad on a large plate. Add ins which included edible pansies, violets, thyme and mint, and a touch of arugula with spinach and basil, maybe some sliced 'formaggio' or a few strips of that other fatty fish -salmon, was it? Or when it was finally done broiling…. with plenty of fresh salt to preserve the flavor, the sword fish to the side. Too any choices, too many copy- cats. Her fists curled as she gripped the plate firmly to move it about the room to a separate section of the kitchenette. (I did this but don't make this unless you intend to doctor up the selection. Can't say it would be best with more add ins. Swordfish is too strong a fish for this, and with egg? Maybe pickled! Who knows?)
~Just you wait. Sit, dine with us…. See to our hunger…. For your demise will be tonight! ~ A clatter of the food made the room echo with that crashing thunder from deep down within the violated princess's heart. Her eyes now rainbow hues of darker amber rays and of black, the same as her enemy's intentions. She smiled and breathed heavily over her creation. Hers, that none could ever touch. Her heart made the princess's beaten body shiver and quiver in delight. He'd be dead! Tonight!
~You'll be treated to a feast for kings, right before you let go of this silly charade. Eclipse – demon. ~
Cici lowered her eyes before letting the darkness take her back. She had work to do She'd be killing off two gods too many tonight. Too many gods, not enough repentance.
/
Part two looks very appetizing, indeed. Uh, that was weak of me! So!
Cici; the self – hating, remorseful and vengeful priestess who thinks she has to fix the mistake of the gods' who made her into an outcast because of her fate as the lunar opposite to her solar sibling. She is loathing here, big time. She'll use Eris's influence well and take back her role as Raku's reaper of the hour. Just you watch.
Eris; Hates the gods -her pops included. She also has a vendetta against; the council for turning their backs on her kind, the chosen, for trying to liberate the worst criminal in her world's history -Raku, and also Cici for being so easy to lose herself to a lover who never loved her in turn. She is angry at her own weaknesses but is making up for that by taking back her title as The Goddess of Chaos in this present-day arc.
Raku was the fore bringer of ill happenings according to the myth where Azag is from. He's actually a record holding Djinn's son and a half -immortal while his mother was born in the past as a hereditary witch. Azag took on the role of stopping any crisis on the planes by swallowing (Apep style) the dismay and doom (not the best words to describe it) of the eclipse's powers of ill prophetic tellings. (Bad omens ahead, then?) If the eclipse was an ancient warning sign before science brought that view to a close, then Azag was the one against this predestined change. Due to this, he was dragged down with so much dark energy he'd incubated inside his body, that it drained him of his life force over time.
The beings of Raku's world believed due to this that anyone who sired a child with the Sand deity, would become cursed to either die or suffer for their crimes against the order of all of existence. Such is the life of a demi- god. However, Raku was not born with Azag's powers until they'd awakened from him leaving his humanity behind (wattpad story to all who have checked the Pageturner09 account.) Once he'd done this, it was like he'd lost his corporeal self to live in the spirit world as its next overseer in training of the Dune Capital where Lord Azag had kept everything there safe and secure for many centuries.
The mortal -bound are actually in past life existences, humans or spirits, even the gods, all as created beings that go through a limbo effect before starting over. (Alternate universes like Tsubasa reservoir chronicles). As if Raku had been born before, but without the life he'd lived; the cycle or the Void as it is called, creates and recreates that which has already perished.
The only way he'd been able to regain his tangible self back, was when Raku had made his promise to Lilu and had traversed through the spirit realms to return to a mortal bound one. He can bounce with her in between worlds when she is at the height of her powwer. This is shown in Wattpad arc as well.
So, the story with Eris is that she wants no other deity or being to have the title as a Chaos anything. It was always her role and she intends to make this fact permanent.
Raku is in a place he cannot avoid; a choice to remain human or live as a god again and serve his time in the Eternal realm, to grow up and lose sight of his late past forever as most of his enemies and allies want. He'd be like Hakuro, cold and empty, all alone. Or human and bound to die as he's experienced before through countless time lines. (Arc where Richard Ainsley was reborn with Roku in historical times of war and poverty. See, previous arcs.)
This would leave him powerless, and Raku's fear of being controlled by others might just make his past repeat itself. Aiden thinks he can pull Raku back from his shameful memories of what the kid's already done to countless worlds over, yet he has to remember that Raku is and will always be half Djinn so he can materialize and manipulate the desires of others as a plus to his heritage.
It was why Marcus Borgges tried to harm Raku in Wattpad story when he'd gone to the Aisles Academy to realize his full potential.
It was why Lilith wanted to manipulate the gods and council which had forsaken her as the original Lady Ishtar (alternate time lines here) with Raku as her tool of choice while she made this decision not for his sake alone. Raku was promised control over his destiny, and like any wish with a demon there was always attached to it, a heavy price to pay. The tag said it all, Raku now limits his abilities in the present day, yet he's afraid of losing control – or worse, losing himself to his inner demons all over again. Lilu cursed him, and in a way it has a lingering effect into this same present...
It was why Roku was born and had separate entities he'd used to control his son; the later Rokuro (incorrect way in reverse, I know!) Noburo Ainsley, to continue the family business, to let his enemies know just what they were facing off against in the end.
It was why the gods even now, want him dead and well away from their cycles of life and rebirht (death is not included because spirits return to the cycle via karmic fate and some live forever as what they call, relics) and had him thrown into the pit of ends to prevent any reincarnation attempts by the demi -boy god. Raku was forced to change into the dragon lord when he was impossible to use as a teen by the harpy Lilu. She'd had enough waiting to break him completely. He would not age, and this was due to his shell not having been cracked in the beginning hard enough. Gods don't age to a degree, and because Azag was a time elemental, his children shared this trait as well. Lilu too does not age, but this is due to her having stolen and hoarded the life force of her ex -lovers and servants time and time again.
Any deity you see; Cici as a royal touched by the lunar order is basically trapped, as were the dogs, Aria, Esme, Wiz Geg, Bao Shi, Tsani is an exception due to aging slowly (that means her powers are not fully developed yet but her height and even Alue's are the same with this factor, Dreamwake is an Eternal and thus cannot die until it is his time to go, (Azag and Lord Destiny as well.) Vespa (like Verra) has taken on a new form but her magic is not as developed so she'd be actually nearly close in age to Shoji's counterpart.
If multiple spirits have or have not already died, have or have yet no already passed on, then Raku is about to come to terms with a fate worse than death. Aiden is watching over a ghost going through limbo! Shocking development –
Ami is being watched because in a way she's also a 'power source' with her connection to Amaterasu as the goddess's next in line vassal and student. So, it was like Kaien was calling Anna in previous arcs; A future 'Guardian or overseer of a plane on Earth (her home) of the present day. Big shoes to fill for lil' Amelia and her siblings!
As for Ava, she's in this boat as an interdimensional guardian of ice and snow because of her polar element. Her opposition towards the solar element is a key point to note in previous arcs, when fighting the sphinx, or when she'd returned to California which has little to no snow depending where you are. She drowns herself in lunar energies to get stronger, and even lost Chris (who's reborn over and over as a part of his curse) like the moon, he waxes and wanes. Pretty cool symbolism here! Me likey! ~
As for Dick and his fears, he's not the all -knowing son of a dragon's host any longer so his ability to protect his god -given children is, halved. He's human with inhuman allies, that's it.
Kori though, is still with her influence and Arianna's aid. She has this gift still because the Chosen of the past that would have been Ari's and Richard Ainsley's kid, was dead in the womb when Lady Arianna had died back then of heartbreak. So, Aiden was born to continue the story and to stop the dragon from regenerating with his energies returned to him on both planes. As we see in Raku, he's bound to break his promises if he doesn't give up his powers willingly to those higher – than – thou - deity and their lapdogs in the other spirit realms. The council foresaw this event, yet kept it from everyone. Aiden has little to think over; he's already decided to protect Raku from the gods' corrupted version of ' law and order (used too many times, this phrase.) He also needs to know of Raku's past to be a better caregiver, but he's still up to deciding if Shoji might be best to help with raising Raku to be, normal. Bad idea, those two should not stay in a room for more than a few minutes at a time. Why? Roku in his earlier guise as the dragon corrupted Verra when he'd given himself up to the lizard to protect Richard Ainsley from his father. He'd ended up escaping, but not before Greg had gotten the dog to his senses. Sadly, Kay had been afflicted later and had been brainwashed by the dragon long enough to form a pact with Slade without realizing that he'd been under the dragon's influence for a many number of years. This influence was possibly due to his mother who was afflicted by Lilu's curse from her summoning the Black Widow spirit to aid Roku in 'correcting' Sayu's behavior as an official . She'd gone to save Richard and Lori, though ended up tainted for years by the demon's curse. Noted; Roku basically assaulted her to get the curse to properly take affect, not yet in the wattpad story though parts of it were mentioned in previous arcs and Sayu's flashbacks. So, yes, it was a rated R moment. Not my best on that, dramatic and traumatic makes a demon out of a god?
Will our heroes STILL pull through? Is Eris serious about drowning the world over in madness? Is Cici willing to break her oath long - since held, to destroy her enemies and rivals in one finishing blow?
What ever happened to the Gemini twins? One is severed from the bond they shared, so the youngest has only to seek vengeance against the gods that turned him into a criminal along with his sibling.
Long explanation here, but well worth it to see! Oh, and the little scene with Eris going after Cici's lust? That was filler, I had to keep it as an M category like the bots of Fanfiction expect, right? Oh well, not much for that stuff. It's well fleshed out better by other writers, but I am more for the magical spells and whatnot portion. No J.K Rowling here. Far from it.
So, stay curious and read on! Going strong. Only one more arc after this and I am done. May go back to my Wattpad nightmare which is currently offline. Stay tuned for more chaos served up hot as lava can be!
