Inside a cave on the outskirts of Konohagakure

October tenth.

One of the most auspicious days for the military leader of the village, Konohagakure. Today was the day the young man would become a father for the first time. His wife, Kushina Uzumaki was going to give birth to their children in the outskirts of the village due to her status as a Jinchuriki. For any female Jinchuriki, the seal holding the beast weakens upon giving birth to a child.

Kushina laid on her bed as screamed in rage and agony when the first of her children started to come out. The delivery of her children was being done by Biwako, the wife of the Sandaime Hokage who currently had sweat dripping down her forehead due to the tension in the atmosphere, while the village's leader, Minato Namikaze, stood just beside his wife, holding onto the seal from breaking apart.

"Be a man Minato, you would have died long ago if you were in her shoes, but not us women, unlike men, we're strong."

Biwako gave the Hokage a look of disapproval as she focused on the delivery of the children. Looking back down, she could see the head of one of the children that was in Kushina's womb. Steeling herself for what's to come, she screamed at the soon-to-be mother to push with all her strength so they could finish this as soon as possible.

"I can see the head just a little more Kushina! PUSH!"

The crimson haired woman screamed one last time before, a look of almost pure bliss and relief crossed her face. She cried out in happiness since she never expected the pain during childbirth to be this unbearable. She had hoped to constantly look at the seal during her delivery, but the pain was so much that she couldn't be bothered with anything else. Biwako put the baby to one side, before she came back to attending Kushina.

"Now for the other two."

"Ahh! You are so dead, Minato! How dare you do this to me!"

The woman's screaming continued until the cries of all three children was finally heard and Kushina finally gave birth to her three beautiful children. Biwako scooped up the children who were wrapped in blankets. Bringing them over to their mother Minato went up to retrieve his children but his arm was slapped away by Biwako who kept glaring at the man.

"Oh no you don't, it's always the mother who should see her children first."

"DAMN RIGHT! AFTER WHAT I JUST WENT THROUGH, I GET FIRST DIBS!"

The red head scream nearly deafened everyone while she formulated a plan to get back at her husband who put her through so much pain. However, all her negative thoughts vanished when three wonderful infants were handed to her.

Biwako handed her one of the infants who was wrapped in a white blanket. Kushina almost squealed the instant she saw her oldest child. He inherited many features of her face while possessing a certain degree of sharpness to it. He opened his artic blue eyes which looked at her curiously. Even for an infant, he possessed a certain calmness while he looked around curiously.

As she handed back her eldest child to Biwako, the one in her arms was replaced by a girl would release a small whine every now and then as she moved not wanting to wake up. Her face was mixture of both hers and Minato's her eyes were sharper than Naruto's, but not by much and though her face was round, quite like her own.

As she was handed her youngest child, Kushina smiled, trying to calm down her other son who couldn't stop crying, she smiled seeing him look an exact replica of his sister. But one thing that all three of the children have in common was three whisker-like birth marks on each of their cheeks.

"Please hold on a little while longer, Kushina. We need to reseal the Kyūbi,"

Minato immediately rushed hands back on the seal to make sure that the demon fox doesn't let loose. Everyone was so lost in the new family coming together for the first time they forgot about the fox sealed inside the woman.

"Don't worry Kushina I'll have him sealed back in a bit."

Minato assured his wife as a drop of sweat dripped down his brow due to the amount of struggle required during the sealing. The seal was almost broken and could've been destroyed any second. He looked back at his family, seeing Biwako taking the children to safety. With the resolve to protect those precious to him, he doubled his efforts instantly.

During sealing, a scream echoed from the other side of the room which made the Hokage's heart stop for a second before he turned his head towards the source of the sound. Standing over Biwako's body and two of his new-born children was a cloaked man in a yellow mask with a flame pattern on it. In the arms of the intruder was Naruto, a hand hovering over him threateningly as he whimpered and struggled not to cry.

"Step away from the Jinchuuriki or this child will die in his first minute."

"Naruto!"

Both the parents yelled their son's name upon noticing the danger he was in. Minato knew that the only reason the man would've attacked would be due to the fox that is sealed inside his wife. Seeing that he had no other choice, Kushina decided to give herself up so that the children could be safe.

"Alright...just calm down! We can work this out,"

Minato was frightened immediately. He had witnessed the loss of a human's life many times during these past few years, yet none of that fear could even compare to the fright he was feeling when he saw his children in the hands of an enemy. Concern evident in his eyes while all the while having a single thought in mind.

"Speak for yourself Yondaime. I am perfectly calm. Don't you care about your child?"

The man taunted the young Kage. Minato grit his teeth when he noticed the disregard the masked man held towards his son. There was no telling what he would do with Naruto if he made any mistakes.

"Then choose now Yondaime Hokage,"

The masked man immediately threw Naruto in the air preparing to stab with the kunai in his right hand. Seeing a window of opportunity opening, Minato used his infamous technique and instantly grabbed his eldest son before any damage could be dealt. Noticing the masked man rushing towards his wife, he teleported to one of his unique kunai which was near his wife. Still holding his new-born son in one of his arms, Minato charged at him with a Rasengan in the other hand.

Upon the Rasengan nearing its impact, Minato's eyes widened when he passed right through the man, as if he were nothing more than a hallucination. Stopping himself before he hit the wall and damaged the cave, Minato turned to see the masked villain making his way towards his wife. Kushina was instantly sucked into a distorted swirling vortex as the space bent around them, but not before going weaving a half-tiger hand sign when sizzling was heard straight from Naruto's towel. Minato realized there were five explosive tags placed in the blanket around Naruto. In a burst of speed Minato removed the blanket and teleported outside the cave.

With the masked man and Kushina after her abduction

Kushina was suspended above a lake in mid-air as the sealing formula on her stomach was completely broken. The fūinjutsu chained to the surrounding rocks, and in front of her stood the masked man. The only thing holding the darn beast was the powerful chakra would break any moment.

"How does it feel Uzumaki Kushina?"

The masked man mocked as the watched the woman struggle. She was trying her hardest to restrain the Kyūbi, but her hold was close to breaking completely.

"What are you after?"

Kushina was sweating heavily as the fox's chakra reverberated within her. She was never a frontal assault type kunoichi and with her just giving birth to her children, even if she did break the sealing formula that held her hostage, there was no way she could win against him.

"I came to rip the Kyūbi out of you and use it to completely annihilate Konohagakure. That is my purpose…my mission."

"What?"

"I see! So, the Yondaime Hokage has incorporated his Flying thunder god technique seal into the design of your seal. All so he would always be there to protect you. But I already managed to get you away from him and the seal has been weakened from the birth. Do you have any idea how long I have waited for this moment? Now it is finally time…"

The masked man weaved a hand sign as chakra was channelled into his right eye. As Kushina's eyes met his, the abbreviated period of gaze he needed for the demon to contact him finally appeared. Inside the seal Kyūbi's eyes morphed to replicate the Sharingan and it proceeded to rip the chains that bound it to the floating structure which imprisoned him.

Kushina was soon engulfed in crimson chakra that took the silhouette of a fox. The chakra immediately shaped in the form of a tail as it soared into the sky. Under the moonlight, it appeared as though blood was stained in the sky that soon resembled the physique of a fox.

"Come forth, Kyūbi,"

Just as he finished his words, a roar echoed throughout the mountains and the sealed beast finally emerged in all its glory. Its roaring presence destroyed any nearby trees and mountains that surrounded them.

"Now...the time has finally come to reveal your true power to the world. Time for the village to know of my existence."

The man turned around in the direction of the village but immediately stopped when he heard a grunt from the opposite direction. Looking back, he noticed the wife of the Hokage, glaring at him while struggling to maintain her consciousness.

"The Uzumaki clan is truly something special. Even wrenching a tailed beast out of your body didn't kill you. It's only fitting for the Kyūbi to kill his former host."

Crimson eyes glowed in the darkness as the man raised his hand and commanded the sentient beast. The infamous demon fox raised its massive claw and swiftly thrusted it downwards to end its former host's life. Fortunately, before the attack could make impact, Minato swiftly teleported and rescued his wife and instantaneously appeared in front of the massive beast.

"A small flash of hope. But it's too late because I already control the demon fox,"

"Minato how are the children? are the children alright?"

Kushina held onto her husband's flak jacket and asked about her children. After she was kidnapped and held hostage, she had not seen them and could only hope that they were safe.

"Yes! They are fine. I've put them somewhere safe, and I've asked the ANBU to guard them in a very secretive location,"

"Minato...we m-must stop t-the man. He's headed towards Konoha with the intention to destroy the village,"

With all the strength she could muster, she conveyed her husband the danger which awaited the village. Since he couldn't leave his wife alone, he swiftly teleported to the place where his children were being kept. As they arrived at the location, which was surrounded by ANBU, Minato put down Kushina and their other children in the same bed that was currently occupied by Naruto. It was a struggle rescuing them and the Kyūbi was now on the loss, but he would take care of that soon, though it would require him to make two big sacrifices.

"Kushina..."

The man whispered to his weakened wife, knowing what he was about to do was extremely cruel. He knew deep down his wife was aware of it as well but still tried to find an alternative solution.

"Minato, the village... it needs you...take me with you... and I'll see the demon fox back inside me. It's the only way to prevent the village's destruction."

The Hokage shook his head in refusal. "I'm sorry Kushina but I can't do that. If you seal the Kyūbi inside of you in the state you're in, you'll die."

His wife was angry at his refusal for the best plan they had. "Minato..."

Minato stopped his wife. "I already have a plan." He gave a sad look to their children who were now snuggling into their mother.

Kushina seeing his gaze looked at the man with disapproval and anger.

"Minato you can't! Not our children!"

She screamed at her husband to stop, but she was too weak to stop him as he took their children from her grasp. The woman looked distraught which twisted the Hokage's heart, but he steeled himself knowing that his wife would support his children even all he could was to look after in them in the afterlife.

"I'm sorry Kushina, but it's the only way, don't worry, I'm sure you'll be fine without me."

Minato shed a lone tear as he watched his wife reach out to him with all the strength she could muster, but her husband and children disappeared in a yellow flash. Leaving the soon to be grieving widow alone in tears.

In one of the alleys of the village, space distorted in a swirling vortex as a male figure emerged from it. He weaved through several hand signs and he slammed his palm onto the ground as called out his technique.

"Summoning Jutsu!"

An explosion of smoke caught everyone's attention followed by crimson eyes glowing down at the people Soon the dust became clearer, and everyone's eyes widened in horror when a silhouette revealed itself in the shape of a fox. Suddenly, an inhumane roar echoed as the Kyūbi emerged, destroying all the buildings in his surroundings. The ground quaked and shinobi were sent flying in all possible directions upon the power generated from the beat's roar. The fox wreaked havoc on its nearby architecture as the debris rained down like meteors.

"It's the Kyūbi!"

"Run for your lives!"

"Someone stop the demon!"

At the same time, Minato appeared on the top of the Hokage's face and watched as the tailed beast generated a dark sphere of chakra. When the dense orb was released from its mouth, the surroundings were annihilated as the dense sphere of chakra rushed at the young Hokage only for him to raise his Flying Raijin Kunai to create a space time barrier ahead of him. The barrier completely absorbed the attack and detonated the attack on the outskirts of the village.

Out of nothingness, an arm emerged to grab Minato but was quickly intercepted with one of the Hokage's signature kunai with the intention to kill him. Unfortunately, the attack phased right through the man as he held onto Minato's arm and tried to suck the Hokage with his visual prowess, but Minato quick reaction allowed him to teleport away from the man.

"He's certainly as fast as always...I'll have to find a way to limit his movements before it gets too late."

Somewhere away from the mountains, Minato reappeared and seemed a little out of breath from the exertion he put himself through. When he caught his breath and turned around towards the direction of the village a scowl appeared on his face when he noticed the masked man standing a few feet away from him.

"It's not that easy to escape from me, Minato."

'All of my attacks phased right through this man. He must be using a unique space-time technique like my own. It must be how he travels great distances instantly. He even managed to defeat our village's elite ANBU and even managed to separate me from Kushina. There is only one man that I can think of who all this can do,'

"Are you Madara Uchiha? That can't be...he was dead a long time ago!"

An ominous feeling welled up inside him when he asked that question. The man simply chuckled and replied in a nonchalant manner. He shrugged his shoulders and replied in a completely nonchalant manner.

"Hmm? I don't know about that. What do you think?"

"What is your intention in attacking Konoha?"

"Konoha's destruction. This could be called an attack on whim, or it was planned. I could say it was for war, or for peace, it does not matter."

Minato stepped back, clearly shocked. He looked at the man before him who shrugged his shoulders and whipped out iron chains from both his arms. The man in front of him had every intention of ending his life this moment. Pulling out a kunai from his sleeves, he charged straight towards the man and threw one of his kunai at his direction.

The kunai phased right through the man in the mask as he extended his arm towards Minato who was rushing in with a Rasengan formed in his right hand. Minato was sure to land a hit, only for his attack to phase right through him as well.

"You're too slow, Yondaime,"

The man whirled his chains to face the young shinobi, only to find he had disappeared again. He sighed and turned to face the Hokage still within the clearing. He has the Rasengan still in his right hand and Flying Raijin kunai in his left.

"I win."

"Flying Thunder God Technique - Level Two!"

Minato instantly disappeared in thin air and reappeared behind the man snatching his kunai between his fingers and slamming the Rasengan in his hands into the man's spine.

'Damn it! He flew to the kunai from earlier,'

Masked man jumped back but Minato appeared in front of him and stabbed him with the kunai he was holding in his left hand and paced his right hand on the man's check while calling out his technique.

"Contract Seal!"

"You truly deserve the title of the Yondaime Hokage. You have managed to not only defeat me but pull the Kyūbi out of my control in one move. But some day it'll be mine again. The demon beast and this entire world will bow down to my will. Many doors are still left open for me."

With final words said, he distorted the space as he was wrapped into his own jutsu while leaving Minato alone in that clearing.

'Something tells me that he wasn't lying,'

Minato teleported to a rooftop nearby the tailed beast and bit his thumb. He went through a chain of hand seals and slammed his palm on the ground.

"Ninja Art: Summoning Jutsu - Food Cart Destroyer!"

The whole ground rumbled as Gamabunta appeared on top of the Kyūbi and slammed his butt over his head. The bijūdama he was preparing, disappeared from the abrupt distraction.

"Eh?! Minato why did you summ... Oi! Is that the Kyūbi I'm sitting on?!"

Gamabunta frantically yelled just as Minato hopped on top of his head and started gathering his own chakra.

"Gamabunta, just hold down the Kyūbi for a moment. I will subdue it, and seal it into my children."

Gamabunta slammed his back over Kyūbi who roared in defiance. Due to hundreds of sealing techniques holding the beast down, the toad could subdue the monster for a couple of seconds. It was only a matter of seconds before the fox overpowered them, so he hoped that his summoner knew what he was doing.

"Stand down you stupid fox! Minato, do you really think it wise to seal it into your own children? You know what kind of lives Jinchuriki lead, are you sure about this?"

"There is no other way. Besides, Kushina will take care of them. The only regret I have is that I won't be able to make my son into the shinobi I want him to be with my own hands, and watch my daughters grow up into the fine women I know they'll be."

Hiruzen looked at the altar where the sealing would take place. Horror filled his eyes upon knowing the technique his successor would be performing to seal the beast into his children.

That's...no Minato you can't!' Adrenaline rushing through his veins, the Sandaime rushed towards the alter so that he could protect his successor. Minato looked at his children for what would be the last time, he's only known them for a few minutes at the most, but he already loved them dearly. Due to Minato having his complete focus on the sealing preparations, he failed to notice his predecessor approaching him and knocking him unconscious.

'I'm sorry Minato, but it's the duty of the old generation to pave the path for the new.'

The Sandaime Hokage looked at the monster ahead and weaved the signs necessary for the ritual of the sealing. He knew this would be the last time he would be in the world of living but…his only regret is how his students turned out.

His gifted protégé has become a rouge shinobi, in search of limitless power while his other student was deeply grossed in prophecies that have never proven to be true. If only…

"Forbidden Secret Art: Dead Demon Consuming Seal"

The moment he finished weaving through all the necessary signs, a massive translucent purple coloured demonic visage appeared behind him. It possessed long white hair from which two red horns protruded. The demonic figure had a tanto in its mouth. Its golden eyes looked at the events in front of him with interest.

The death god's hand through Sandaime Hokage's soul, penetrating his armour and leaving a hole in his abdomen. The Shinigami's translucent hand clung to the Kyūbi and with a mighty push from Hiruzen, a large portion of the beast's chakra was ripped from it and sealed inside the red headed boy in front of him.

Since he lacked the skill to completely seal away the beast, Hiruzen grit his teeth in frustration and ordered the Shinigami to seal away the beast one more time. The demonic purple arm extended once again as it clung onto the demon fox. Crimson chakra was forcibly ripped out of the beast as it descended onto the red headed girl and sealed inside her body.

Hiruzen coughed out blood as the physical strain on his body, long surpassed his limits. With one final push, he summoned all his strength and used the Shinigami to seal away the rest of the demon fox into the eldest child of Minato. Hiruzen was surprised how thin and fragile the fox had become after losing most of its chakra.

'The Kyūbi has probably lost most its chakra, it's better to seal it completely so that it could never regain its power from the Jinchuriki'

Each of the fox's shoulders were grabbed by the Shinigami's arms as its nails dug into the demon fox, earning a raging roar from the beast itself. As the fox was pulled by the death god, it gradually transformed into a streamline of chakra and was sealed into the golden-haired child. He used all his knowledge and formed a powerful sealing technique so that the boy could never make any contact with the beast, to ensure not only the child's safety but also the welfare of the village.

Minato gradually opened his eyes that turned to horror when he saw his predecessor coughing out blood, barely having enough strength to maintain his consciousness.

"Sandaime-sama!" Minato cried as he supported Hiruzen who was having trouble maintaining his consciousness. Grabbing onto the support, he forced out the words he needed to convey before his departure from this world.

"M-Minato...I've s-sealed the K-Kyūbi's chakra into Menma and A-Akami while the fox is s-sealed into N... Naruto, deprived of all i-its chakra. P-Protect your children w-well..."

With his final words said, the Sandaime finally closed his eyes and let death take him away from the world of living. His only wish for to reunite with his wife in the afterlife.

This is a Naruto neglect fanfiction. I've been wanting to do a neglect fic for a long time now and got interest after reading multiple neglect fanfics. After reading multiple fanfics, I've noticed most fanfics don't give much description about other villages. I'll be adding a couple of OC's to the other villages so there wouldn't be much difference in military power between the nations.
