You are the love of my life
Kakashi couldn't stop looking at his boyfriend. Iruka looked so happy in the water, training and swimming in his Olympic committee's pool to go to the Olympics with the silver-haired man and not let only him have fun, in the words of his boyfriend with long brown hair.
Kakashi himself was already classified by his country's tennis team and Iruka by the swimming team (both were the best in their discipline if you asked Kakashi) but he always took the time to watch the love of his life train in the element to which it really belongs.
His long hair and that scar that he got in an accident (an accident for which he regrets and is grateful at the same time because it was thanks to that that he met Iruka but which in turn orphaned his love) turned him into an exotic beauty. However, what Kakashi loved the most was the way he was.
Iruka was the most wonderful man he could have ever met, he volunteered at a local swimming pool and at the charity that hosted him. The vigor and energy he transmitted, his desire to save one orphan at a time and laugh and smile even in the saddest moments, made Iruka the most wonderful man in the world.
The ring he had packed in his suitcase only assured his love and devotion to the other man. He now he was just waiting for the right moment to ask Iruka to be part of his family forever, to share his love and make it his home from here until when they are old.
And Iruka, already knowing that Kakashi was already there watching his training (which was nothing special but for Kakashi it was, according to him) did the best he could. The electrifying energy that his boyfriend gave his was enough to recharge his tired arms and continue to give his best.
The man a few years older didn't know, but Kakashi had saved him and given him a home that he believed was lost. And what surprised Iruka the most was that he never thought or believed in loving another person so much, nor in his wildest dreams did he think of feeling so much love, affection and happiness when being with another human being.
And already making a break, Iruka finally came out of the pool to find the man of his life.
"Iruka, you surprise me every day love. I'm sure you will take that gold medal with us."
"Kakashi, you idiot. This is just the training and don't detract from the other competitors. They all came to compete because they are the best in their nation."
Kakashi, laughing at his boyfriend's sayings and falling in love a little more, only managed to kiss Iruka to go to his own training. (Iruka wasn't the only Olympian.) And the brown haired man just shook his head and stepped out of the pool to hydrate and relax his muscles.
Kakashi was anxious and nervous. Iruka had just won the gold! He couldn't be happier and, out of sheer emotion, he took a small box out of his bag and ran to hug who would be his future husband, of that he was sure.
Iruka couldn't be more overjoyed. He wanted to cry, laugh, jump but he also wanted Kakashi next to him, he wanted to hug him, he wanted to kiss him and when he saw his love run towards him, he could not bear the emotion and kissed him deeply.
The other man without waiting any longer, knelt down and with the small box between his fingers and trembling with emotion, asked:
"Iruka, you are the love of my life. I love you so much that there are no words and my heart grows bigger every time I see you, that's why I ask you love. Iruka, do you want to marry me?"
Iruka could only cry, nod and kiss and hug his now fiancé. This day is, without a doubt, one of the best he has ever had.
The next day, the newspapers, TV and more showed the images of the love of both and remaining as one of the most important and shocking moments of the Olympics that year.
End.
