Ahh, it's good to be back. I'm delving into something I've been thinking about a lot lately; Medieval Heroes. Like, Swords and castles and warriors, soooo, I've decided to mix MHA with just a spice of the rising of the shield hero.

I AM BUT A MOON LOVING BROKE ASS BOY WHO OWNS NOTHING!

Special announcement at the end

Izuku Midoriya had been ridiculed for the past 10 years. Ever since he was disgnosed quirkless, he was picked on, bullied, and beat up daily. By the age of twelve, he became completely numb. His face barely moved and the only way to get him to smile was by mentioning heroes, but even that was soon stripped from him.

Izuku walked past Kac-no, Bakugo, and silently hoped he wouldn't see him. He opted for the back door, knowing the only people there had quirks that couldn't harm him, and thus, he could fight back well. He opened the back door only to be greeted by a ash blonde haired, pissed off, hot handed, Bakugo. He backpedaled quickly only managing to get his finger burnt. He kept his face blank and his head level.

"Bakugo. How many times do you have to beat me up until you realize I'm not gonna give up on my dream?" The aformentioned Blonde somehow managed to look more pissed as he approached.

"SHUT UP, USELESS DEK-"

"NO, YOU LISTEN TO ME!" Izuku quickly regained his composure as he realized he had almost lost his cool. "Bakugo, there's a story of an immovable shield against an unstoppable spear. You know how the story ends? The spear breaks and the shield wins. I'm the shield, you're the spear. No matter how many times you beat me, or pierce my skin, I shall always stand strong on my path towards becoming a hero. Now out of my way, I'm gonna be late to homeroom."

Izuku brushed past Bakugo and then when his back was facing Bakugo, he counted to 3 then jumped.

BOOM

Izuku was sent flying forwards. He landed on his feet and started running, jumping on lockers to avoid people. He was shot at by quirks of people who were bored, almost got clocked by a clock, and overall just was in the path of danger.

He opened his class door, bringing a small wind with him from the otherwise still air. He sat down after the teacher scolded him for running, and the bell rang as bakugo stepped in. Another day avoided, another day with no convincing done.

Izuku knew he didn't have a good chance at U.A. Tommorow was the exams and he had no idea how he was going to get in. He walked over to Takoba beach. It was a desolate place filled with junk washed in from the shore. As his 'training', he had tried to clean a mile of beach in 10 months, and he was actually really close to finishing. A few more scraps and he would be done. He noticed a couple in the gazebo, the man on his knee and the girl crying. He smiled, and started picking up the trash.

2 hours later, he had finished. He stood atop pile of trash, staring into the horizon. He tried to grasp the sun, only seeming to barely miss it. He was so entranced by how the sun seemed to be approaching him, that he tried to run towards it, only to trip and fall. He landed quite hard after his tumble, that pile being at least 10 feet tall. He picked himself up, and rubbing his sore butt, he started to turn around to go home. Until a glint caught his eye. Normally the mettalic parts that hadn't yet rusted fully would give off a small glint, but this one was bright and shining straight into his eye.

He looked over, seeing a small green orb rested inside of some shining steel buried under a small amount of scrap. He dug out the steel plate which was revealed to be a shield. He picked it up and put it on his arm. It was quite small, but he couldn't expect the entirety of medieval shields to be there. It was like a rectangle with a point on the end.

He decided to take it home, thinking it was an old hero relic. He got home and decided to display it. That's when he realized, he couldn't take it off. The strap he had on his arm holding it to him was gone. Instead, it just seemed to be stuck to his arm. The weird thing was, when he was trying to get ready for bed, he really needed it somewhere other than his arm, say his back maybe? Then, the shield went from his wrist to his back. Izuku realized he could move it mentally, and with this he could become a hero. The shield was the one who saved the most!

Izuku took a shower after eating and showing the shield to his mom. She was delighted but worried about diseases it might have from the beach. Izuku washed it and went to bed.

The following morning, he got up at 4:30 as normal and went to the beach to train until he had to walk to U.A. at 8:40. He sliced things and blocked, but the most interesting thing was when he picked up a piece of trash to bash into, he accidentally dropped it on the green orb. What could only be described as a skill tree from a video game appeared in front of his eyes. He tried to reach out and touch it, but his hands phased right through.

A circle glowed in the tree and the words 'New shield unlocked: Scrap.'

"Um...Scrap?" Izuku stuttered out when the skill tree dissapeared. Immediatly, the shield on his right hand turned into a shield made out of scraps with a pipe frame that was filled with other bits of trash. Finding this new use, Izuku began searching for something else on the beach to use. The sand did nothing, but the seashell worked. k

'New Shield: Seashell.'

"Seashell!" Izuku's shield turned into a large blue conch shell as long as his arm. The same type of shell he'd put in. He quickly found another shell, this one a sunray venus (look it up). He put it in the green orb that was present in every shell.

'New Seashell Shield Variant: Sunray Venus.'

"Sunray Venus!" The shield changed into a brod multicolored shell the size of his chest. He realized this one was good for scooping whereas the conch could be used to make a loud horn noise. 'Every shield must be good at a specific thing!'

Izuku ran over to the closest tree, which was a sakura tree. He gently plucked a leaf and pushed it into the shield.

'New Shield: Leaf Shield. Leaf Shield Variant: Sakura leaf.'

He quickly changed it to the Sakura leaf shield and it turned into a giant pointed leaf with a dip at the top. It had gold covering part of it, wrapping around the other piece of gold. This one was extremely light and when he held it up, It blew not only the leaf but also him along a bit. He jumped and started gliding down slowly while the wind pushed him forwards.

He kept that in mind and started searching for more things to use. He wasn't sure if it worked on animals and wasn't sure he wanted to find out. He searched, finding nothing that worked until his alarm went off. He checked his phone and it was 8:00. He headed home, showered, and ate breakfast. By the time he was finished, it was 8:40. Right on the dot. Izuku left the house, telling his mom he loved her before sprinting towards U.A., knowing he could catch his breath during the written portion of the exam. He hoped that he could at least get into the general course with his academica and then later transfer to hero at least.

He used his leaf shield to glide towards the building partly. When he landed, he tripped a bit.

"Conch!" His shield turned into the conch, which acted as a walking stick. He picked himself up and saw a brown haired girl with her hand outstretched. His face heated up and he walked away nonchalantly (yeah, right.). He took the written exam, finishing in an hour. He walked over to the hall he was directed towards to wait for the explanation of the practical.

He sat down and soon drifted off, only to be woken with a sharp tap on his shoulder. He opened one eye and tried his best not to use his killing intent, hoping this blue haired glasses wearing dude was not the one who woke him up.

"What."

"YOU SHOULDN'T DISRESPECT U.A. LIKE THIS! SLEEPING IN A LECTURE HALL IS UNPROFFESIONAL!"

"Go away." Izuku unleashed his full killing intent, and the blue haired wonder slightly tripped. He walked away, throwing glances behind his shoulder. Izuku relaxed, and closed his eyes, only being woken up by Present Mic yelling. Apparently, he was looking for participation, but Izuku was too tired to respond. He flicked himself, only now noticing the stink eye Bakugo was giving him.

He paid attention for a bit, and unconciously started muttering. At leadt until Bakugo poked him with his pen.

Izuku got up when everyone else had, understanding how to gain points. He was sure U.A. wouldn't only have a system regarding fighting villains, but he couldn't bank on one to save him.

He arrived at the location and heard the buzzer. He ran forwards, listening to the others mock him for running too early, until Present Mic came on over the speakers. Izuku ignored the loud hero and summoned his conch, hoping he could break those red eyes witha loud noise. He grabbed the earplugs he had brought, put them in, and then blew as hard as he could. It seemed his old trumpet lessons finally paid off. The only way he knew it worked was because the other contestants grabeed their ears. He looked around and saw that two 3 pointers broke, one 1 pointer, and four 2 pointers. 15 points. He ran forward, running into a group of five 3 pointers. He blew his horn as the ground around him was chipped out by flying bullets. He saw glass tumble out and the 5 of them stopped moving. 30 points. From that point, Izuku didn't find very many. He climbed a building, hoping to spot more.

He saw a group of 3 and 2 pointers attacking a kid who was on his own.

"Leaf!"

Izuku glided down there, getting quite a bit of speed. He found that if he momentarily changed the type of shield from leaf to something else then back to leaf, he could drop about 10 feet before hee started slowly descended on them. when he was about 6 feet above the robots, he was still unnoticed. The kid had a craze of purple hair and seemed to be struggling as he was running, trying to avoid bullets.

"Scrap!"

The purple hairs head whipped up as Izuku dropped onto a 3 pointers head, breaking it effectively, as well as giving him a bruise on his leg. He stood up and jumped to the ground, grimacing. He turned to the next one and jabbed the shield into its eye. He pulled out the shield, with a zapping core impaled on it. He turned to the last two. He grabbed a pair of earplugs from his pocket and tossed it to purple. "Put these in!" The purple listened to him and when Izuku saw them in, He switched to Conch and blew his heart out.

The robots stopped moving, instead that leaned down, seemingly dead. Izuku picked up Purple, as he had a broken ankle and helped him away, that was until he felt a giant tremble. He looked behind him, seeing a large robot approaching. He was about to turn around when he saw a flash of brown in the wind. He focused and saw a girl screaming, most likely for help but Izuku was still practically deaf, her leg trapped under some rubble. Izuku laid down Purple and dashed over to Brown. When he got there, he realized the only way he could save her was by either stopping the robot, or stopping it for long enough to run. Izuku pulled out his earplugs.

"What's your quirk!?"

"Zero Gravity." She cried out.

"Use it on me." She reached out and placed her hand on him. Izuku immediatly felt lighter. He crouched down, then jumped with all his might. He was doing good, until he overshot. 'No! I need to ge down!' Izuku hit himself down with his shield, and he started falling at the same speed he was going before. He managed to impale the robot, stopping himself. He backed up a bit then, after putting the earbuds back in, played the conch right next to the eye. The glass fell out of the hole in the robots head, one piece sticking into the core behind it. Izuku saitsified with immobilizing, kicked off from the head and headed towards the ground at quite a speed. He pulled out his leaf shield around 30 feet above the ground and slowly glided down. He dropped a few feet off the ground and took out Sunray Venus. He scraped the rubble off of her and picked her up.

He walked her over to Purple who was still on the ground, and then picked him up, asking Brown to make him weightless. He helped them over to the nurse on duty as it was announced that the exam was over.

In a dark room with computer monitors and lots of chairs, most of the U.A. staff was watching the exams.

"What's the quirk of the green haired shield user in section B?" A woman with black hair wearing a skin tight suit.

"It says Quirkless." A white bear mouse thing said. The rest of the staff scratched their heads in confusion.

"We'll have Recovery Girl test him before we analyse his performance." The bear mouse principal said.

The rest of the staff agreed and they went back to analysing the exam as it ended.

After the exam, Izuku was pulled aside by Recovery Girl after she treated all of her patients. She took blood samples from him and after confirming he was quirkless, sent him on his merry way.

Izuku was weired out a bit but accepted it nonetheless. He arrived home and collapsed in bed.
