Sup lads and lasses? Welcome to a brand new story of mine, The Archangel Among Us. This idea has been floating in my mind for a while now, so I decided to write a chapter and see how well you lads and lasses react to it. So, without further delay, let's begin.

Chapter 1: The Archangel.

Izuku Midoriya sat on his lonesome on top of the Aldera Junior High school roof, doodling freely in his notebook. This was one of two places where he could isolate himself without his peers tormenting him about being Quirkless. The other option was of course, his own home but at the moment, that option wasn't viable, unless he felt like skipping school.

Which of course, he would never do, no matter how much he wanted to on most days.

But even so, up here he was at peace. The pencil he held skimmed lightly across the notebook, putting the finishing touches on a sketch of the Pro Hero, Kamui Woods. He has already written down everything he could about his Quirk, what it could do, his weaknesses and ways to improve. Not that he would show the Hero what he was writing anytime soon.

He was mostly doing this because ever since he could blink, he wanted to be a hero like All Might. A hero that saved people with a smile. Who was fearless, no matter the odds stacked against him. The notebook not only held information about numerous Pros, but it also held ideas for his hero costume, different hero names that he would use one day, strategies and super moves.

But, there was a problem. As mentioned previously, he was Quirkless.

The day Izuku found out that he didn't even have a weak Quirk, he was shattered. He could never forget that day, for it was the day his life became a literal hell.

His own mother stopped believing in his dream.

The people he once called friends, slowly abandoned him once they found out about his condition.

His best friend Katsuki Bakugo dubbed by him as Kacchan, became his tormentor from ten years ago to present day.

Izuku grimaced lightly as his train of thought traveled to Kacchan. He could feel the phantom pain of his punches, his kicks and the multiple times he used his Quirk on him from over the years.

Yet no matter how many times Kacchan cursed at him, beat him or called him a Deku, Izuku would never give up on his dream. Because that's what heroes do. That's what All Might does. He never gives up.

Izuku sighed, closing his notebook and storing it inside his yellow backpack. He didn't want to think about Kacchan whilst he was up here. As much as he admired Kacchan for his tenacity, his combat prowess and his Quirk, most memories of him stirred at Izuku's insecurities.

Izuku took out his phone, looking at the time.

"2:20… 10 minutes left of brake until the final class of the day…" Izuku muttered to himself, pocketing his phone.

He let out a relaxing sigh as he leaned back on his backpack, his head leaning against the white wall. He closed his eyes and allowed the rays of the sun to warm his skin.

Five minutes later, even with his eyes closed, he could feel that someone or something was standing in front of him. His already dark vision that was lightened up due to the sun, suddenly became pitch black. At first, he thought it was the clouds obscuring the sun, but he could faintly hear something flapping.

He slowly opened his eyes, and was greeted by the sight of a large bird, its species and colors unknown to Izuku due to the sun casting a dark shadow over the giant bird. It slowly flapped its wings, staying where it hovered in front of the sun.

Izuku stared at the large bird, completely stunned. A bird of this size hasn't been seen in the world, less of all Japan of all places. He briefly wondered if this was actually a person whose Quirk allowed him to transform into the large bird hovering in front of the sun.

Before Izuku could expand more on his theories, the large bird landed in front of the green haired boy, breaking him from his train of thought and startling him slightly.

Now revealing itself, Izuku saw that the bird was actually an extremely large eagle. Its feathers and body was an astonishing clean white color, with the only difference in color being its beak, which was a yellow and hooked that ended in black at the tip of its mouth. Its feet were also a darker yellow, with black razor sharp claws that looked like they could pierce through solid walls.

What slightly mesmerized Izuku though, were its eyes. They were a light shade of blue. That wasn't what caught Izuku's attention. It was the fact that they were slightly glowing.

Izuku slowly stood up and was once again shocked to see that the eagle was slightly taller than him. This tickled his insecurities in just the right way.

"Even a bird is taller than me…" Izuku thought to himself, a blue cloud of depression hanging over his head.

The bird tilted its head slightly at Izuku's reaction, letting out a soft screech that once again broke Izuku out of his thoughts.

"Oh, umm… A-Are you a person or s-something? If so, your Quirk is incredible! Just the ideas of what you could possibly do are amazing in it of itself! Your patrols would be much easier allowing you to cover more ground at a much faster rate than any other hero, plus an eagles vision is so much better than a human's that it allows you to see things that the normal human eyes can't track and mumblemumblemumblemumble…" Izuku sprang out one of his famous mumble sprees.

The eagle stared at the boy with a dull expression, screeching loudly this time and cutting Izuku off, who let out a yelp of a surprise.

"S-sorry! I-I sometimes don't r-realize that I mumble out loud w-when analyzing Q-quirks!" Izuku stuttered, scratching the back of his head with a sheepish expression.

The eagle tilted its head once more.

"So, umm… why are you here? And is this eagle transformation your Quirk?" Izuku asked once more, pulling his notebook out of nowhere and prepped his pencil to write the necessary information.

This time, the eagle shook its head.

"Wait, this isn't your Quirk?"

The eagle nodded.

"You're actually an eagle?"

The eagle gave no indication of answering, choosing to just tilt its head.

A beat of silence rolled by the two, each staring blankly at each other.

"That's still so cool! For a bird you're surprisingly intelligent!" Izuku exclaimed with bright eyes.

The eagle screeched in offense. Whilst the eagle wasn't the smartest member in the bird family tree, it wasn't that dumb to dignify that sort of response.

"S-s-sorry! B-but still, why are you h-here?" Izuku asked once more.

The eagle extended its wings, showing Izuku its large wingspan. It flapped its wings a couple of times, stopping once it saw a feather fall out of its wing. It leaned its head down towards the wing, poking it with the tip of its beak. The feather suddenly began to glow a light blue and white color, a faint buzzing sound accompanying the glow.

It tilted its head towards the glowing feather.

"W-What just happened?"

The eagle simply raised a talon, a single claw pointing at the glowing feather.

"Y-you want me to touch your feather?"

A nod was the response given to him.

"Umm… Okay..?"

Izuku kneeled down on one knee, his finger touching the glowing feather. As soon as his finger made contact, the glow began to travel up his arm and body, bathing him in the blue and white glow. Izuku's eyes widened slightly as he felt a wave of energy enter his body.

"Whoa… This sensation… It feels like my body is healing from injuries that I never had! And this energy… I feel like I could bench press fifteen All Might statues at once!" Izuku thought to himself.

Slowly, the glow began to dim until it disappeared altogether. Though the amount of energy Izuku gained was still there. He felt better than he had in years. He stared at his hand that touched the feather in amazement.

"Wow… I feel amazing! Thank you so mu-"Izuku cut himself off once he looked up to regard the eagle, only to find that it was gone.

He didn't even hear it fly away. He looked around, hoping to see it somewhere. Once he saw it wasn't anywhere near, he sighed sadly, slumping slightly.

"I didn't even say thank you..."

The bell rang, signaling the end of the brake. Izuku jumped slightly at the noise, feeling his anxiety rising slightly. Though it was surprisingly stomped down by the energy that was given to him.

Izuku picked up his backpack and opened the door, walking towards the last class of today. As he walked, a thought occurred to him.

"I just talked to an eagle like it was an actual human being. What even is my life…?"

School ended with surprisingly no Kacchan steamrolling to him with his lackeys so they could get their daily dose of Deku Abuse, which Izuku was secretly thankful for. Izuku even mentally prepared himself for either a beating or tongue lashing.

Izuku was slowly making his way back home, the sun starting to set, which bathed the neighborhood in a beautiful yellow and orange, notebook in hand and writing down more information. Though it wasn't about a hero this time.

Throughout the final school period, Izuku couldn't focus much on the lesson that was taught. His mind was still on his interaction with the white eagle. As weird as it was that he managed to have a normal, somewhat full conversation with the bird, (Seriously, what even is his life?) he found it oddly intriguing that an eagle could have such a high level of intelligence. Plus, there was also the fact that its eyes glowed and whatever it did to the feather than seemed to energize him.

"Could it actually have its own Quirk? Is that how it could do what it did with the feather?" Izuku mumbled to himself, as he continued to write in his notebook.

Izuku dedicated a page to the eagle, though sadly he didn't have much information to write down. He only drew a sketch and a few theories on what it did.

He sighed, closing the notebook and held it to his chest. He hoped that one day he could see it again to he could gather more information on it.

Izuku stopped walking, turning his head slightly to the right and staring at a familiar park. The same park where Kacchan beat him up for the first time for trying to protect another kid.

He remembered that day as it was yesterday. It was a memory that replayed in his mind on most days. He could still see his younger self laying on his back, bruised and slightly burnt from Kacchan's Quirk.

Izuku entered the small park and sat down on one of the wooden benches, setting the notebook on his lap. The park was empty at this time of day, the only sounds being the rustling of leaves from the wind and a cricket that woke up as the sun began to set. He sighed, losing himself once again to his thoughts.

"Hey, is the spot next to you taken?"

Izuku jumped slightly at the voice that interrupted his thoughts. He sharply turned and saw a boy standing a few feet away from him. He looked two or three years older than Izuku, wearing a simple white short sleeved T-shirt with dark blue jeans and black sneakers. He had dirty blonde hair that reached down to his upper back, which waved slightly with the wind. Though what caught Izuku's attention was the fact that he had bandages wrapped around his eyes.

"O-oh uh, s-sure! D-Do you n-need any help or...?" Izuku meekly asked, not knowing how to handle the situation with the blind boy.

The boy chuckled lightly.

"Nah, its fine. Pretty sure I can find my own way. Thanks for offering though."

He walked and naturally found his way to the bench and sat down next to Izuku. His left arm hanged lazily behind the bench and his other was set across his lap, his legs crossed. He pulled out a big can of Monster energy drink out of nowhere, taking a large sip and exhaling a sigh of content from his nose.

Izuku felt extremely awkward. He didn't know how to approach a stranger! Especially a blind one! He kept stealing glances at him, especially his bandaged eyes. He wanted to ask how it happened, but he didn't want to be rude or offend him in any way.

"You know, just cause I'm blind doesn't mean I can't see you stealing glances at me. If you're curious about how I went blind, I got into an accident when I was younger. My eyes were permanently damaged, though I don't let it affect it." He said, taking another sip from his drink.

Izuku sputtered and waved his hands around, words of apologies spewing out of his mouth. The boy laughed at his reaction.

Still, it surprised Izuku that he could see him looking at him. And here he thought he was being discreet about it!

"You really weren't."

Wait, what? Did he just-

"Read your mind? Yea, I did."

Was Mind Reading his-

"Quirk? Nah, that ain't my Quirk."

"Stop it!" Izuku shouted, clutching his head. The boy laughed once more in jest, slapping his thigh with his free hand.

Wait a sec.

"Wait, if Mind Reading isn't your Quirk then how could you read my mind?" He asked, curious to know how he could read him like an open book.

The boy turned and stared at Izuku, a lazy smirk coming to his lips.

"Now wouldn't you like to know, Izuku Midoriya."

Izuku froze. He stared at the blind boy next to him with an expression of surprise, shock and fear. He slowly stood up from the bench and took a shaky step back.

"H-How do y-you k-know my n-name?" Izuku stuttered out, fear slipping into his voice.

The smirk the boy had fell, his lips forming a straight line.

"Calm down." He simply ordered.

Suddenly, a wave of calmness washes over Izuku, letting out a sigh as his rapidly beating heart slowed down to normal.

"Sit."

Izuku followed the order without a second thought.

"How do you know my n-name?" Izuku asked once more.

"Well, this is only the second time we've met in person. Though I pretty much know anything there is to know about you."

That's not creepy at all.

"Shut up." The boy snorted, a smile now on his lips, letting Izuku know that his word was meant in jest.

Oh right.

"S-Second time? When was the f-first?" Izuku asked with a raised brow.

"Aldera Junior High. Or rather the roof of your school. And for the record, I'm not actually blind. Figured I'd toy with you a little bit before revealing myself. And, if you need more convincing than that, well…"

Two small metal clips fell from the back of his head, landing on the pavement. The bandages slowly loosened up and fell down on his neck and shoulders, giving a clear view of his glowing light blue eyes.

The same eyes the eagle had.

"Y-You're the eagle I met today?" Izuku asked; shocked that the boy wasn't actually blind, but rather the eagle he met.

The boy nodded.

"B-But you shook your head when I asked if transforming into an eagle was your Quirk."

"And it was the truth. That wasn't my Quirk."

"T-Then what about-"

"I already debunked your Mind Reading Quirk theory. Transferring my energy to objects and sharing it with people also isn't my Quirk. Also, me disappearing before you could help me isn't a teleportation Quirk. Also, also, the theories you wrote down about me in your little notebook are also incorrect. Though I have to say, good job on the sketch." The boy finished, giving Izuku a thumbs up at the end.

"T-Then what is your Quirk if you don't mind m-me asking?" Izuku asked, opening his notebook.

"It's very simple you see. I don't have one."

Izuku stared blankly at him, causing the boy to chuckle.

"I'm serious. Despite what you saw today, it wasn't part of any Quirk I possess. It was what I could always do ever since my father created me."

Created him? I guess that was one way to put it.

"I say created in a literal sense. I was created by my father to watch and guide humanity, just like my brothers. I was there when my father got the idea to create you lot, and I was there once again when Adam and Eve walked the Garden of Eden. I was there when Cain killed his brother Abel, and was thus cursed with the Mark of Cain. I remember the Tower of Babble, David and Goliath, Sodom and Gomorrah. I've been here for a very long time, Izuku Midoriya. It's how I know everything about you. The same can be extended to your mother and father, you classmates, your teachers, even your favorite Hero, All Might." The boy finished, his eyes slightly glazing over as the memories passed him by.

Izuku would surely be freaking out if it weren't for the fact that the boy ordered him to calm down, the order somehow still keeping him relatively calm. His mind was barely able to process all the information that was given to him.

"W-What are you trying to say? W-Who are y-you?" Izuku asked.

"Not who. What. But, if you wish to call me by a name, then I go by… Gabriel. The Archangel. A pleasure to meet you." Gabriel said with a sly smirk, his eyes glowing slightly more intensely.

And thus ends the very first chapter of The Archangel Among Us. Hope you all enjoyed the chapter. I know the ending was a bit abrupt, but we'll get into more details and longer chapters as time goes on. Until next time lads.
