Welcome!!!

I'm so excited to write my first story!!! I haven't really written any fanfic before, I've mostly done story's that have some correlation to my life so this will be a change for me!

So this story is about Jewels life and childhood before she meets Blu in the aviary. We never got to really see how she grew up, was she always independent? Did losing her family make her how she is in the movie? What was her relationship like with her mother, father and Roberto? There will be some OCs in this story. Also in the movies it seems she was lost at a very young age. so just to give us some more time, I'm not going by the what the movie tells.

Hope you all enjoy!!!

It was a cool night in the Amazon rainforest. There were Hundreds of birds who were making their way to their hollows for a good nights sleep. It was peaceful and quit that night, except for one hollow. Two Spix's macaws were in their lovely home, waiting for their angel to be born.

"Come on June! You got this, just keep breathing." A male Spix's macaw said, standing over his wife.

"Ahh! I don't know if I can do this Eduardo!" Said the light blue macaw.

"I believe in you June. Just keep breathing. I'm right here with you." said Eduardo, holding his wife's wing.

Tears were in June's bright, turquoise eyes. Not from sadness or anger, but from the pain and agony of child birth. This would be her first time laying an egg. With Eduardo being the new leader of their tribe, He was hesitant on having chicks. Both were still young, but it didn't stop June from convincing Eduardo from having chicks. Little did they know, they would only be have one chick.

"Ughhhhh!! Eduardo I think the egg is coming out!" June said, clinching her husbands wing

"You got this sweetheart, just keep pushing." Eduardo said, getting up to catch the egg.

It was dark in the hollow. All the animals in the rainforest were now fast asleep, except for the two Spix's macaws. The hollow was quite large. Eduardo made the decision to move to their new home with the intent to have enough room for them and their offspring. The home was not totally decorated yet. It only had a dinner table, a couple of chairs, a bed for Eduardo and June, and a big crib for their chicks. As time went on, June's cry got louder and louder, filled with pain.

"You're almost there June! The egg is almost out!" Eduardo said, cheering on his beloved waiting to catch the egg.

Finally, it happened the egg came out and fell into Eduardo wings. Eduardo held the egg as tears started running down his face.

"Isn't it beautiful sweetheart?" Eduardo choked up on his words as he brought the egg to June.

"It's so beautiful honey, I'm so glad it's over now." June said with a sigh of relief.

"What do you mean? Isn't there more eggs?" Eduardo placed his wing over her stomach to feel if there were anymore eggs.

"Well I don't feel like I have any more. At least we have one." June said giving a smile to Eduardo, pulling him into a kiss.

Eduardos face clearly showed he was disappointed. He wanted a big family, a family to carry his legacy. But most importantly, to carry the legacy of their ancestors, who ruled the tribe for generations. He quickly shook it off and smiled at June.

"I hope it's a boy. I'll raise him to be big and strong like me. Then he can rule the tribe when I pass" Eduardo said, standing up tall to show his pride.

"I was hoping it would be a girl. I always wanted to have a beautiful daughter." June said holding the egg to her beak, giving it a slight nuzzle.

Eduardo became disappointed again. Why didn't she want a boy? A female can not rule a tribe.

"Well, whether it's a boy or girl, I'll love them with all my heart. If it's a boy we should call him, Anthony." Said Eduardo, placing his wing on June's shoulder.

"And if it's a girl, we will name her Jewel. She will be our precious little Jewel." Said June smiling up at her husband.

"She'll be as beautiful as you darling. The Jewel of the sky" Eduardo said waving is wing over the sky, smiling at the name.

They both embraced each other, sharing a passionate kiss. As they both pulled away, June being to get up.

"No no darling, You need to rest. I'll take care of the egg." Eduardo said pulling June back onto the bed. "You had a long night, just lay down and relax." He took the egg into his wing and gave a short kiss to his wife and started towards the crib.

The crib wasn't far from their bed. They made sure it was in view just in case something were to happen while they were sleeping. Eduardo bent over the crib and placed the egg inside the crib as gently as he could. He picked up some leaves and other foliage he gathered earlier that day and placed them around and over the egg. Making sure it would stay warm. He bent over and gently kissed the egg.

"Your going to be a big, strong, handsome boy one day, Anthony" Eduardo said. He started back towards his wife, who was starting to fall asleep.

Eduardo slipped into bed and slowly embraced his wife. She turned around to look at Eduardo, her eyes were barley open. Even after childbirth, Eduardo still found her gorgeous.

"Do you think we will be good parents?" Eduardo said, running his wing over June's feathers.

"Honey if you can take care of a tribe, I'm sure you can take care of one chick." June giggled at his words.

"I guess you're right" Eduardo blushed

June giggled at him, she knew deep down he had doubts about having chicks. But she knew in her heart, that he was ready for the challenge.

"We'll take this challenge together sweetheart." June said, sliding her wing over to his back.

"I love you June." Eduardo said as a single tear drop fell from his eye.

"I love you too Eduardo." June pulled him into a kiss. Soon they both fell asleep, still holding onto each other.
