"Thank you both for watching her." Jade said, passing her daughter off to her mother.

"Nana Butterfly." Lian hugged Paula close with a smile.

"It's no trouble." Paula said. "Thankfully, Giovanni's already-"

"Baba Gigi!" Lian moved down off her grandmother's lap and began to run around, calling for Giovanni. "Baba! Baba!"

Jade looked down at her mother. "Was it bad?" She was worried, as Giovanni was not only her mother's significant other that she saw as a father figure but he was also the one who delivered Lian.

Paula nodded, "yes, but it didn't last as long as the last one." She, much like Zatanna, hated Fate for what it did to Giovanni's mind. He would have disassociation episodes, his best ones lasting from minutes to maybe a bit over an hour- his worst ones were almost a day or more depending on what took him out.

Jade nodded. "If I live long enough to see F-" she paused, considered her words, and continued, "to see IT again, I'll give it Hell."

Paula nodded once before looking to see Giovanni walking in with Lian. "Hey tình yêu của tôi."

Giovanni smiled, "hello, il mio amore." He looked at Jade, "how are you, Jade?"

Jade smiled as she gave him a hug, "I'm alright. Thank you so much for watching Lian."

Giovanni hugged her back, "no worries. Always happy to watch her." He let her go, smiling as he looked down at Lian. "Do you want cookies, piccolo mostro di biscotti?"

"Monster cookies!" Lian threw her hands up happily, having a vague understanding of Italian as well as English and Vietnamese thanks to him and her grandmother.

"Yes little one." Giovanni picked Lian up and turned her to Jade. "Say bye-bye to your mommy."

"Bye bye mommy!" Lian hugged her mother, giggling as she was hugged back and kissed Jade's cheek. "Love you mommy."

"I love you too, my little darling." Jade smiled and kissed Lian's cheek. "Be good for your grandparents."

Lian giggled again before holding onto Giovanni as Jade gave Paula another goodbye hug before leaving. "Monster cookies Gigi." She said, looking back to Giovanni from Paula's lap with a serious face.

Giovanni nodded, "of course, gattina." He was happy that they went shopping specifically for cookie supplies for Lian.

While Giovanni made the cookies, he heard Paula and Lian laughing from the living room. This was an average day for them with her, and luckily Lian was an easy child to manage - excited about Paula's wheelchair and Giovanni's stage magic tricks. The cookies were put in the oven, a timer was set, and Giovanni made his way out to the living room to see Paula giving Lian a ride around the room.

He smiled, leaning against the doorframe as he watched them laugh and play. The image burned into his mind of this happy sight, the peacefulness of the afternoon-

"Sorry I scared you.." He could feel his tears again, speaking quietly as Lian watched a princess movie.

"Don't worry, love." Paula stroked the back of his hand lovingly. "This one wasn't as bad as it could have been. You're managing these a lot better, you're becoming stronger." She pulled him down to kiss his cheek.

Giovanni hummed at the feeling, smiling as he stood back up. "I owe that to you, for being by my side and being patient with me." He held her hand in his, stroking her knuckle.

"Baba! Nana! The thingy!" Lian looked to the kitchen, annoyed.

Paula looked at Giovanni with a smile. "Are you okay to get the cookies out?"

"Yes, my love." Giovanni nodded, resting a hand on Lian's head. "I've got it." He walked out to the kitchen, opened the oven and used a spell to pull the cookies out and cool them before setting them on a plate.

"Milk and cookies." He said, using magic to carry the cookie plate and glasses of milk.

"Cookies!" Lian was on Paula's lap, grinning as a movie was playing on tv.

"Easy méo con." Paula held Lian on her lap as Giovanni sat down, laughing as Lian grabbed a cookie and took a big bite.

Thankfully, Lian fell asleep halfway through the movie from the milk and cookies, curled on Paula's lap.

"She's so cute." Paula said softly, running her fingers through Lian's hair.

Giovanni chuckled, gathering up the glasses and plate, "she is. When do you think we'll get more grandkids?"

Paula shook her head, "I'm not sure love. Let's not mess with perfection."

Giovanni chuckled softly as he stood up, "true." He took the dishes to the kitchen and washed them, humming as he did so.

The two enjoyed the silence with their granddaughter, letting her sleep as they softly talked about the day and such. After that, the three left. Giovanni and Paula were alone again, both laying on the couch and enjoying the silence.

"I love you, la mia cacciatrice." Giovanni said, holding Paula as sleep started to overcome him.

"I love you as well, pháp sư của tôi." Paula murmured, gripping his sweater as she too fell asleep.

All was right. They were okay.
