Chapter 1:
I don't own Star Wars. If I would, there would be a Darth Vader series/ Movie and there would be total different Sequels (sorry sequel-fans).
This fic will mostly consist of the dialog in the movies and not the description of places, fights, only what is truly necessary. Mostly in the first few chapters will there be some description.
Anakin awoke in his chamber. He got ready and was about to leave when a saw blue light shining behind him. Turning around, he saw three Holocrons lying on the floor. Their light slowly getting getting weaker.
"How did that come here?"
He picked them up, reading the labels:
A New Hope/ The Empire strikes back
The rise of Darth Vader
Return of the Jedi
Who is Darth Vader? Is he involved in the Clone Wars?
He tried to open the second Holocron. It did open, but not with the answers he wanted. Instead, there was now a list.
These Holocrons will only open with the following people present:
Anakin Skywalker
Ashoka Tano
Obi-wan Kenobi
Mace Windu
Padme Amidala
Yoda
Kit Fisto
Plo Koon
Shaak Ti
Captain Rex
Ki Adi Mundi
Only these people are allowed to watch, no more, no less.
Interesting.
The next day, Anakin had gathered all of those on the list. The council was very interested in those Holocrons, especially the members that were not allowed to be present. But Anakin was most excited about Ashoka returning. He was able to convince her to come to the Temple. Even though Ashoka left, when she was needed this badly, not to say from her "big brother", she could not refuse.
They all gathered in the room of thousand fountains.
"General Skywalker, I am always happy to be at service, but I am not sure why am needed?" Captain Rex asked a bit uncertain. Jedi business was not his speciality.
"Believe me Rex, we too are not sure what to expect. But it may help us to end the war." Anakin then excused himself, seeing that Padme has arrived.
They spoke professional with one another, but their love for one another was still visible in their eyes.
"General Skywalker, I heard my service was required."
"Yes Senator. Let me get you a seat."
The other Jedi and Ashoka were now all present as well.
After all the greetings and explanations were done, they all seated themselves, similar like in a cinema, excited about those mysterious Holocrons. Master Yoda and the other masters found out, that two of the three holocrons are definitely about the future. But they are not sure about the Vader holocron.
The room went dark, and master Yoda tried to open the second Holocron without success. He tried the first one, which worked.
Episode IV, A NEW HOPE:
It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire.
"A Galactic Empire? Have the Seperatists won?" Ashoka asked worriedly.
"But why an empire? From my understanding, the Seperatists want independence. And Emperor would not give them that." Said Rex.
"Maybe the Sith betrayed them. It is their way after all." Ki Adi Mundi shipped in.
"It is possible, but we cannot be sure. We have to wait and learn." Obi wan answered.
During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire's ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, a space staion with enough power to destroy an entire planet.
Shouts of "What?" could be heard.
"How is that possible?" Padme asked. She hated violence. And such a weapon… she didn't want to think of all the destruction it could cause.
Now one could answer her question.
Pursued by the Empire's sinster agents, Princess Leia races home aboard her starship, custodian of the stolen plans that can save her people and restore freedom to the galaxy…
The sandy planet of Tatooine emerges from a total eclipse, its two moons glowing against the darkness.
Anakin made a face at the appearance of Tatooine. But no seemed to notice, all to fixated at the holocron.
"They shut down the main reactor, we'll be destroyed for sure."
"This is madness. We're all doomed… there'll be no escape for the princess this time." Threepio said, receiving several beeps in protest from Artoo.
"Threepio and Artoo? Well if they are around, we can't be far, nh?" Anakin tried to lighten the mood.
"Maybe Senator Amidala is a Rebel Leader? Or you Skyguy?"
"Yeah, I could imagine that." Anakin answered.
"Where have you been? Oh… they're coming this way! We'll be sent to the spice mines of Kessel or smashed into who knows what!", Threepio said with barely contained terror, Artoo just beeped and lead the way to the escape pods while the Princess watched them go.
Outside, captured rebel prisoners were being marched away as the imperials continued scouring the ship. One of the stormtroopers returned to where the black-clad commander was waiting with the bad news. "Sir, we've finished checking the logs, the Death Star plans are not in the main computer."
The audience locked at the cyborg with great interest.
The Cyborg nodded and returned his attention to the rebel officer he was holding by the neck, ignoring the man's flailing legs as they sought the floor. "Where are those transmissions you intercepted? What have you done with those plans?"
"W-we intercepted no transmissions hrrk! Th-this is a consular ship! We're on a diplomatic mission!" The officer sputtered out as he struggled to breathe through the iron grip.
"If this is a consular ship, where is the ambassador?" the black-clad commander asked sarcastically before tightening his grip and snapping the man's neck.
Tossing the dead body to the side, he addressed the soldier who brought him the news. "Commander, tear this ship apart until you've found those plans! And bring me the passengers, I want them alive."
"Could that be some kind of another Grievous?" Obi-wan asked.
"I don't think so. He has… a strong aura. He is probably a Sith Lord." Shaak Ti gave her thoughts on the matter.
"And tyrant." Muttered Anakin angrily.
Once the orders were passed down, the stormtroopers switched their blasters to stun and resumed their hunt. Several of them made it into the engine room where the princess was hiding, before they could make it any further in and compromise Threepio and Artoo, a single shot rang out and the lead storm trooper fell over dead from a shot to the heart.
"Are those… clones?" Rex asked in disbelieve.
"How could I let that happen?" Shaak Ti said more to herself than to the others, taking her head in her hands.
"They are dressed a little different than clones. So maybe they were newly designed to serve the Empire?" Said Ashoka, not wanting to believe that friends like Rex could turn on them.
"It is possible. But just to be sure, we should investigate this further." Said Windu. He hated… no, disliked traitors.
Drawing attention to herself, the distraction allowed the droids to slip away unnoticed while the princess herself was stunned and captured by the imperials. But she knew that the droids made it.
The Princess looks a lot like Padme Anakin thought.
As the escape pod shot into the void, headed for the planet below, one of the star destroyer's gunners was about to fire on it before being stopped by his superior.
"Hold your fire, there's no life signs aboard that one. It must have short circuited or something. Save the ammunition for the actual rebels."
"Sir."
"Arrogance, blind us, it can." This from Yoda.
"Yes, but in that case, because of it, the droids could escape." This from Obi Wan.
The scene changed to where the black-clad Cyborg stepped out from where he had finished interrogating several prisoners to address the captive.
"Darth Vader, only you could be so bold. The imperial senate will not be still for this, when they hear you attacked a diplomatic vessel-" Leia said confidently to the Cyborg, thoroughly unimpressed with his actions and letting none of her fear show through.
"So we were correct. He is a Sith Lord. Darth Vader. I hope we will learn more about him in the second holocron and can stop that monster before it is too late." Said Kit Fisto.
"Wonder where we faied, I do."
Anakin was somehow feeling guilty when seeing that Sith Lord. Like his very existence was his fault. But maybe it was, he was after all the choosen one. And even if he is still alive, he seemed to failed to defeat the Sith. Since their trip to Mortis, he was certain that he is the choosen one.
"Don't act so surprised your highness. You weren't on a mercy mission this time. Several transmissions were beamed to this ship by rebel spies. I want to know what happened to the plans they sent you."
"I don't know what you are talking about. I am a member of the imperial senate on a diplomatic mission to Alderaan." She protested her innocence but Vader wasn't having any of it.
"A very confident princess. It is not easy for a non-force sensitive to withstand the Dark Side."
"You are part of the rebel alliance and a traitor. Take her away!" Giving the order, Leia was marched away by the stormtroopers as their blasters dug into her back.
Once she was out of hearing range, an imperial officer mustered up the courage to question Vader's actions. "Sir, holding her is dangerous. If word gets out, it could generate sympathy for the rebellion in the senate."
"I have traced the rebel spies to her, now she is my only link to finding the rebel's hidden base."
"She'll die before she tells you anything."
"Leave that to me.-
"I think we can imagine what that means." Said Ashoka, worrying for the Princess.
Send a distress signal and then inform the senate that all aboard were killed."
"Sir, we've searched the entire ship. The plans are not aboard it and no transmissions were made. There was an escape pod that made it to the planet but there were no life signs aboard." Vader received the report and nodded.
"She must have hidden the plans aboard it, send a detachment down to retrieve it. See to it personally commander, there'll be no one to stop us this time."
"Yes sir."
„Vader is not stupid. I hope the droids make to what or who they are being sent to." Said Plo Koon.
On Tatooine:
"How did I get into this mess? I really don't know how. We seem to be made to suffer. It's our lot in life.", Threepio whined as he and Artoo continued to walk in to the sandy wasteland while Artoo replied with certain beeping sounds. "I've got to rest before I fall apart. My joints are almost frozen."
"How can someone freeze in the desert?" Ashoka asked Anakin, who would, as a late local of Tatooine, most likely know the answer.
"Well Ashoka, with Threepio's model being a new one, considering his GD7 batterie and…"
"Ok, ok, I get it. It is a complicated mechanical problem." She interrupted Anakin. Who had been caught up in his mechanical mind of a genius.
"Where are you going?", the protocol droid asked. "Well, I'm not going that way. It's much too rocky. This way is much easier.", "What makes you think there are settlements over there?"
"Does it only seem to me that way, or did Threepio forget Tatooine?" Padme asked Anakin.
"Maybe his memory was wiped. After all, being my previous droid and working for you he might have been privy to important information." Anakin answered her.
"Don't get technical with me.", "What mission? What are you talking about? I've had just about enough of you! Go that way! You'll be malfunctioning within a day, you nearsighted scrap pile!, he said as Threepio gives the little droid a kick and starts off in the direction of the vast dune sea.
"Artoo is always on the move!" Ashoka said enthusiastically.
"We will probably learn more of the future due to that mission." Said Obi wan commented.
"And don't let me catch you following me begging for help, because you won't get it.", he told him as the protocol droid went for another direction.
"No more adventures. I'm not going that way.", he told the astromech droid while Artoo beeps to himself as he makes his way toward the distant mountains.
"That malfunctioning little twerp. This is all his fault! He tricked me into going this way, but
"Wait, what's that? A transport! I'm saved! more adventures. I'm not going thatway!", he cheered as he made his way to that transport.
"No! Threepio don't go there! Those are Jawas! I can see that from here!" Anakin shouted with frustration, momentarily forgetting that Threepio couldn't hear him.
Obi wan couldn't supress grin. While master Windu couldn't help but be annoyed at Skywalker childish behaviour.
The Jawas muttered gibberish noises as they busily line up their battered captives, including Artoo and Threepio, in front of the enormous Sandcrawler, which is parked beside a small homestead consisting of three large holes in the ground surrounded by several tall moisture vaporators and one small adobe block house.
As they were fussing over the droids, straightening them up or brushing some dust from a dented metallic elbow. The shrouded little creatures smell horribly, attracting small insects to the dark areas when their mouths and nostrils should be. Out of the shadows of a dingy side-building limps Owen Lars, a large burly man in his mid-fifties.
Anakin recognised Owen. "That is my stepbrother. Wow! He looks old."
"I didn't know you had a stepbrother, Anakin." Said Kit Fisto.
"I only found out a few years ago. Only met him once."
"When did you meet him?" Master Windu asked suspiciously.
"On a mission." Anakin replied as smoothly as he could.
His reddish eyes are sunken in a dust-covered face. As the farmer carefully inspects each droid, he is closely followed by his slump- shouldered nephew, Luke Skywalker.
"Luke, tell Owen that if he gets a translator to be sure it speaks Bocce.", Beru called out to her nephew, who nodded.
Luke, Padme thought. She was at the beginning of her pregnancy. That is the name I would like to choose for our future child. She had yet to tell Anakin. Simply not having the time to yet. She wanted to tell him when he had that mission with clone force 99, but they were interrupted.
"It looks like we don't have much of a choice but I'll remind him.", Luke recounted as he returned to his uncle as they look over the equipment for sale with the Jawa leader.
"I have no need for a protocol droid.", Owen said as he looked over the droids present as Threepio began to panic. "Sir - not in an environment such as this - that's why I've also been programmed for over thirty secondary functions that...", he exclaimed before he was cut off.
"What I really need is a droid that understands the binary language of moisture vaporators.", Owen contemplated as Threepio began to think of a way to not get sold by someone else.
"Vaporators! Sir - My first job was programming binary load lifter... very similar to your vaporators. You could say..."
"Do you speak Bocce?", Owen asked him, wanting to get to the point.
"Of course I can, sir. It's like a second language for me... I'm as fluent in Bocce..."
"All right shut up!", he told the protocol droid before turning to the Jawa. "I'll take this one."
"Shutting up, sir...", Threepio complied.
"Luke, take these two over to the garage, will you? I want you to have both of them cleaned up before dinner.", Owen asked his nephew, who was less thrilled about this.
"But I was going into Tosche Station to pick up some power converters...", Luke whined to his uncle, who was unfazed.
"You can waste time with your friends when your chores are done. Now come on, get to it!", he sternly replied as Luke eventually gave in.
"All right, come on! And the red one, come on. Well, come on, Red, let's go.", he ordered the two droids.
"Uncle Owen!", Luke called out.
"If that Owen is your stepbrother, Skywalker, and Luke called him Uncle…what do have to say for yourself Skywalker?" Windu asked furiously, jumping to, in that case, right conclusions.
But before Anakin could answer, Obi wan jumped to his defence.
"Master Windu, even if Luke is Anakin's son, we don't know what happened. So let's wait and see, shall we?"
Master Windu nodded, his eyes not leaving Anakin's, who pretended not to notice.
"Yeah?",
"This R2 unit has a bad motivator. Look!", Luke told his uncle, pointing at the now-broken unit.
Owen turned to the head Jawa and complained. "Hey, what're you trying to push on us?"
"Excuse me, sir, but that R2 unit is in prime condition. A real bargain.", Threepio suggested as the boy is rather interested at that.
"Uncle Owen!", Luke called out to his uncle once more.
"Yeah?"
"What about that one?", he asked, pointing at the blue astromech droid.
"What about that blue one? We'll take that one.", Owen asked the leader. With little reluctance the Jawa trades the damaged droid for Artoo.
"Yeah, take it away.", Luke told the Jawas.
"Uh, I'm quite sure you'll be very pleased with that one, sir. He really is in first-class condition. I've worked with him before. Here he comes.", Threepio told the young man as Owen pays off the whining Jawa as Luke and the two droids. trudge off toward a grimy homestead entry.
