AN: This is the beginning of my rewrite of my Total Drama Island: Beginnings story. Looking back on it, I kinda dislike the direction I took things and want to trim the fat and redo quite a bit. Some stuff will be similar to last time, but not exactly the same. Just read and find out.
Chapter One: Not So Happy Campers Part One
"Yo! We're coming at you live from Camp Wawanakwa! Somewhere in Muskoka, Ontario." A black haired smiling man said on the dock of an island.
"I am your host, Chris McLean. Dropping Season One of the hottest new reality TV show, right now!" Chris said excitedly while walking to the center of the docks.
"So, here's the deal, twenty two campers signed up to spend eight weeks at this crummy old summer camp." Chris says as the Wawanakwa sign becomes partially visible.
"They'll compete in challenges against each other, then have to face the judgement of their fellow campers. Every three days, one team will either win a reward or watch one person from their team walk the Dock of Shame." The camera zooms in on Chris' face as he says this.
"Take a ride on the Loser Boat and leave Total Drama Island. For good." Chris said as the camera focuses on the campfire elimination ceremony.
"Their fate will be decided here, at the dramatic campfire ceremonies, where once every three days the contestants will vote off someone from their team after they lost a challenge. All but one camper will receive a marshmallow, which signifies their safety. The one left without a marshmallow is done." Chris states as he eats a marshmallow.
"In the end, only one will be left standing. The winner will win. One. Hundred. Thousand. Dollars!" Chris proclaims before picking up a check of money.
"Which, let's face it, these teenagers would spend within a week." Chris chuckles to himself.
"To survive," Chris puts a finger up for each thing he lists, "They'll have to battle black flies, grizzly bears, disgusting camp food, and each other." The camera shows all three things before refocusing on Chris, back at the docks waiting for campers to arrive.
"Every moment will be caught on one of the hundreds of cameras around the island. Who will crumble under the pressure and who will walk out on top? Find out on Total! Drama! ISLAND!" Chris states right before the screen fades to black for the intro.
Dear Mom and Dad I'm doin' fine,
The camera first shows Chris at the docks as a boat docks and the camera then pans over the island to show cameras inside trees and bird nests before the camera jumps off the cliff into the shark infested waters. Owen is seen swimming by in his swimsuit and farts, causing a nearby shark to go unconscious
You guys are on my mind.
The shark surfaces next to Bridgette on a surfboard and the sight of it surprises her into falling off and into the water as a fish surfaces right next to her, where an eagle with Izzy on its back swoops in and picks up the fish.
You asked me what I wanted to be
Izzy fights with the eagle midair for the fish and this causes the bird to drop the fish and it falls down onto an unsuspecting Cody as Duncan is seen harassing him and Geoff watches disapprovingly as Duncan laughs at the fish falling onto the boy.
and now I think the answer is plain to see,
Near the three boys, Leshawna and Heather are slapping each other on a raft down the river when suddenly they reach a waterfall and they fall down it, clinging to each other as they scream in terror.
I wanna be famous.
Harold is then seen practicing martial arts on a log bridge as the two fall down the waterfall and accidentally falls and does a split on the log, with his legs on either side of the log and Tyler and Noah both wince at this as they watch near the edge of the cliff the log is on.
I wanna live close to the sun,
Lindsay is then seen walking out of the confessional with her skirt down and before she can get two steps out, Gwen pushes her back inside before any of the boys can see her and Justin whistles innocently nearby as Trent smacks his arm
Go pack your bags, 'cause I've already won,
In the nearby mess hall, Chef Hatchet is seen having both Dawn and Katie tied up as he grins evilly as he prepares food, making the two girls gulp in fear as the food moves on its own.
Everything to prove, nothing in my way
Eva is then seen arm wrestling with DJ and Eva easily beats DJ and breaks the table with her strength and DJ's arms, leaving splinters in DJ's arm
I'll get there one day.
The scene then transitions to outside the mess hall where Courtney is walking around and glares at the camera as it gets too close to her as Justin grabs the camera.
Cause, I wanna be famous!
Justin is seen posing in front of the camera, modelling for it and trying to show off as Courtney scoffs at his display and pushes him to the ground, sick of his attitude.
Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na!
The camera then transitions to the docks where Beth waves at the camera and starts twirling fire batons in her hands as a shark eats a seagull with a net around it in the water nearby.
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous
Beth suddenly trips during her performance and one of the fire batons flies high up in the air and lands in the water, making Beth sigh in relief.
Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na!
Chris then is seen watching the display in disbelief as he shrugs and proceeds to walk towards the campfire, leaving Beth on the docks with a flaming baton still in one hand.
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous
The camera then focuses in on the baton and transitions to the campfire ceremony at night, with the fire lit and the campers gathered around as Cody nervously goes to kiss Katie until Duncan pops up in between them with a monster mask on his face, making Cody freak out and run away as Katie glared at Duncan and Chris pat Duncan on the back.
(Whistling in tune)
The scene ends with a pan out to show the campers all whistling to the theme as Cody is seen running off as Duncan laughs alongside Chris with Katie crossing her arms in a pout.
"Alright, it's time to meet the campers. Don't be surprised if they're a bit pissed off, we kinda lied and told them they're staying at a five star resort." Chris winked at the camera as a boat got to the docks and dropped off the first camper and their luggage.
"Oh my god! Chris McLean!" The pigtailed girl looked excited as she set down her luggage and ran to hug Chris but he jumped back slightly and she missed and hit the ground.
"Don't touch the goods, Beth. Gotta keep up this figure." Chris grinned with shiny teeth and Beth nodded as she stood up and shook his hand.
"It's so incredulous to meet you." Beth greeted with a lisp in her voice and Chris nodded.
"Good to meet you too." Chris snapped and Beth tilted her head slightly.
"You're much shorter in real life." Beth noted and Chris gave a small glare but let it go as the next camper was dropped off.
"DJ! My dude!" Chris greeted the new guy, a dark skinned and well built guy with a green shirt and white cap, who walked over with a smile.
"Yo Chris McLean! How's it going?" DJ greeted as he set down his suitcase and looked around, "Hey I thought we were staying at a resort?"
"Meh, resorts are boring." Chris shrugged off the question and DJ deflated slightly as he walked over next to Beth.
"How's it hanging?" DJ asked and Beth squeaked slightly as she looked up and noticed the height difference between the two.
"I'm good!" Beth squeaked out and DJ gave a smile to her as the next camper got dropped off and a goth girl with a blue and black aesthetic walked over to Chris.
"How's it going Gwen?" Chris snapped and Gwen glared at him.
"So you're telling me we're staying at a crappy summer camp and not a resort like promised?" Gwen asked with a twitch of her eye and Chris nodded as he pulled out a stack of papers.
"Gotta love the good old fine print." Chris said with a chuckle as Gwen snatched the papers from him and ripped them all apart before grinning at Chris as she dropped the papers into the lake.
"Good thing about lawyers, they make copies." Chris taunted and Gwen glared as she saw this.
"Jerk!" Gwen snapped at him as she went to stand by the other two campers, who watched the whole situation in uncertainty. As DJ went to say something to her, loud music started blaring as a teenage boy with an open pink shirt and cowboy hat was jamming to the loud song on top of the boat as the boat made its way to the dock and the boy jumped off and was tossed his luggage before the ship sped off.
"Geoff! My main party man!" Chris greeted the party animal who cheered in response.
"Yeah! It's party time dudes and dudettes!" Geoff said loudly and with excitement and Gwen groaned.
"Great. I escape the guys back home just for someone just like them to come here." Gwen complained as Geoff highfived Chris.
"I'm sure he won't be too bad. He doesn't seem bad." Beth lisped with optimism as Geoff walked over to them.
"Woo! Nice to meet you all!" Geoff greeted and Gwen covered her ears.
"Do you have a mute function? If so, turn it on!" Gwen said in irritation and Geoff took a step back.
"Sorry dudette. I'll chill for a little bit. But it is rad to meet you all." Geoff still said brightly as he stood next to DJ, on the opposite side of where Gwen stood so she wouldn't complain more. As he did so, a blonde haired girl walked off the boat looking confused and looked at Chris.
"Where am I? Who are you?" The girl asked Chris dumbly and DJ smacked his forehead at this as he noted Gwen and Geoff both drooling at the sight of her and he snapped his fingers in front of them.
"Earth to Geoff and Gwen." DJ snapped and Geoff shook his head and chuckled nervously as Gwen also broke from her trancelike state and blushed deeply as she pulled out a book from her pocket and shoved her face into it.
"I'm Chris McLean. The host of the show?" Chris told her and she still looked confused and Chris shook his head.
"Just go stand with the others Lindsay." Chris said and Lindsay nodded and skipped over to the other contestants and Gwen didn't pull her head up as she kept her head down as Lindsay tapped Beth on the shoulder.
"What is this place?" Lindsay asked, still in confusion about the situation.
"It's Total Drama, a show you're on." Beth whispered back as Lindsay opened her mouth in realization as another boat docked and a girl wearing a crop top and sunglasses walked out and glanced over at the gathered campers first as she took off her sunglasses and walked over to Chris.
"Welcome Heather." Chris welcomed but the girl just glared at him
"I did not sign up for a summer camp, McLean. I'm calling my parents." Heather spat out as she pulled out a phone and Chris just pulled out the contracts that he showed earlier to Gwen as she turned away and smirked. As she began to talk on the phone, rock metal music began to play loudly and a green haired boy with piercings and a mohawk was seen with a foot on a speaker on his boat as he got dropped off with his luggage and his speaker.
"I don't like liars, McLean." The new arrival said threateningly as he grabbed Chris by his shirt's collar as Chris held up the contracts.
"Can't touch me Duncan, unless you want to find out how fast I can speed dial your parole officer." Chris warned and Duncan dropped him and shrugged and looked back over to the other campers.
"Well hey hot stuff." Duncan winked at Lindsay who looked around in confusion.
"I'm on fire!? Stop, drop and roll!" Lindsay said in a panic as she dropped to the ground and started rolling around and Duncan just laughed at this as he walked over to the other campers as Heather stomped her foot in anger and put her phone away with a huff.
"Looks like someone missed their double cappuccino macchiato this morning." Duncan taunted and Heather glared at him.
"Get bent juvie boy." Heather snaps back and Duncan shrugs as he puts down his luggage.
"Seems someone doesn't want to meet me at the campfire tonight." Duncan continued and Heather growled but before she could retort, a boat came into view with a teenage boy in a red tracksuit water skiing behind the boat. Before he could react, he tripped on the water and was sent rolling across the water before he hit one of the support beams of the dock.
"You good Tyler?! I don't need an immediate lawsuit!" Chris shouted with slight concern and the guy raised a thumbs up as he groaned in pain and DJ and Geoff went to help bring him up onto the docks.
"Epic wipeout though." Geoff complimented and Tyler gave a weak smile as he was brought over to the other campers as the next boat arrived and off stepped a nerdy teen as he adjusted his glasses and examined the place.
"So this is a summer camp and not a resort?" The new arrival asked and Chris gave a thumbs up.
"Got it in one, Harold." Chris affirmed and Harold pumped his fist in excitement.
"Awesome. This is more fit for my skills." Harold boasted and Chris just shook his head in exasperation as Harold walked to join the other campers.
"Just keep your distance dweeb." Duncan warned and Harold nodded fearfully as he scurried into the group as Geoff lightly hit his arm.
"Dude, don't be a bully to a guy you just met." Geoff told Duncan off and Duncan scoffed but didn't make a further comment on Harold as a regular looking guy carrying a guitar case walked off his boat.
"And welcome the tenth camper, Trent." Chris introduced and Trent waved at everyone.
"Nice to meet you all." Trent greeted with a smile and Chris pat him on the back.
"I'm sure you'll win over all the girls with your music." Chris teased and Trent rubbed the back of his neck nervously.
"I don't think I'm that good yet." Trent said bashfully and Chris shrugged.
"Just join the other campers." Chris ordered and Trent nodded as he walked over to stand next to Gwen, who had finally picked her head up from her book and looked at his guitar with a raised eyebrow.
"Sure it's a good idea to bring that to a competition?" Gwen asked him and Trent shrugged as he set it down.
"I'm sure everyone can enjoy a good song or two. My grandpa taught me that music is good to bring people together." Trent informed and Gwen looked unsure of that statement but didn't respond as the next arrival departed their boat with a surfboard in tow.
"Nice board Malibu!" Duncan taunted as the waters of the lake were not very wavy and were still and the girl looked bashful.
"I thought there'd be a beach." The girl tries to defend and Chris chuckles.
"Oh we do have a beach for you Bridgette." Chris motions down at the beach from the docks and a seagull is seen eating at some plastic as trash is littered all over the beach.
"I'm cleaning it up by next week." Bridgette claimed and Heather laughed at this statement.
"If you survive that long blondie. Besides, who cares about cleaning up a beach if we're just here to win money?" Heather scoffed and Bridgette looked offended.
"Do you not care about the environment?" Bridgette asked and Heather rolled her eyes.
"Great," Heather drawled, "A surfer and environmentalist. Next thing you know, she's also vegan."
"Vegetarian actually." Bridgette corrected as she set down her surfboard with annoyance towards Heather and made sure to not hit anybody with the surfboard.
"Is everyone going to argue whenever they get here?" Beth whispered asked to DJ, who shook his head at this as it seemed to be happening often and he noticed it as well. DJ didn't get to respond as the next boat dropped off a short teenage boy who just looked at the camp in the distance and looked over at Chris.
"Did you get my list of deadly allergies?" He asked and Chris shrugged in response, which did not give much hope for him getting it.
"I'm sure someone got it Noah." Chris responded with a smile and Noah shook his head in annoyance as he joined the rest of the campers and looked at Duncan.
"How'd you get those piercings, get them from your mom?" Noah taunted and Duncan grabbed him by his lip.
"Wanna find out?" Duncan asked and Noah's eyes widened slightly but he kept his cool.
"Can I have my lip back?" Noah asked with the lisp due to Duncan holding his lip and Duncan let go of his lip and Noah walked away from Duncan to avoid him.
"Hey y'all. Leshawna's here to win it, so you all should just give up." The next arrival boasted as she exited her boat with her luggage in hand and set it down as she walked over to the others.
"What's up brother?" Leshawna greeted DJ and they gave each other a high five as Harold suddenly appeared above DJ's shoulder.
"You're so loud… and large." Harold said in an interested tone but Leshawna got mad at what he said and started lunging for him but was held back by DJ and Bridgette. Harold meanwhile was getting into a martial arts pose as he was dragged away from it by Geoff and Leshawna calmed down as the next person arrived, a tan skinned and skinny girl with pigtails walked out with a quivering lip.
"I want to go home to be with Sadie." The girl said as she hugged herself and Chris sighed.
"Your friend did not make the audition and you did. That's not changed Katie." Chris informed and the girl's shoulders sanks as DJ walked over to her.
"Hey, I'm sure your friend wouldn't want you to just sulk about being gone." DJ tried to comfort her and Katie shook her head.
"I'm nothing without her." Katie said in distress and Heather rolled her eyes.
"Great, we have a walking inferiority complex here. Might as well eliminate her first." Heather rudely stated and DJ glared at her as he helped Katie with her luggage as Katie was still upset and Heather helped nothing.
"Next we have…" Chris went to speak when suddenly someone tapped him on the shoulder and he jumped back in surprise as a blonde girl in a green sweater was suddenly there.
"Oh sorry, I didn't mean to cause surprise." The girl seemed apologetic and Chris looked around to try and spot her boat but saw none.
"How did you even get here Dawn?" Chris asked and the girl smiled.
"I swam here. The local sharks were quite helpful in guiding me here." Dawn said brightly and Chris put a hand to his face and shook his head in exasperation.
"How aren't you even wet? That seems scientifically impossible?" Harold questioned and Dawn adjusted her sweater sleeves as she walked to join the others.
"Oh but not everything pertains to science. Mother Nature can be quite different from what you expect." Dawn informed and Harold looked unconvinced.
"Uh huh." Harold said to express his lack of being convinced as Dawn sat on top of one of the beams holding the docks up.
"It is ok if you do not believe me as your light blue aura suggests you believe more in facts." Dawn assured him and Harold still seemed suspicious of her as the next boat arrived and a teenage boy with a blue toque stepped off as he rubbed his nose.
"Ezekiel, what's up?" Chris welcomed and Ezekiel proceeded to look up.
"I see a cloud, eh." Ezekiel said, not understanding the phrasing and some of the other campers chuckled at his cluelessness.
"Listen, I know you've been homeschooled all your life, never been off the farm. Just try not to get eliminated first." Chris advised and Ezekiel nodded.
"Yes sir." Ezekiel affirmed as he carried his bags of clothes and stood with the other campers as the next boat dropped off a short boy with a small scar under his eye but otherwise just seemed plain.
"Oh god, oh god." The boy said nervously as he looked over at the other campers and looked directly at Duncan and gulped in fear.
"Welcome to the show Cody." Chris greeted as Cody silently walked over and hid in the crowd of campers, trying to deliberately avoid the sight of Duncan, who just raised an eyebrow at him. Before he could question this, suddenly the dock shook with a thud as a very strong looking girl stepped off of her boat and walked over to the campers and dropped her bags, one landing on Cody's foot.
"What's in these, dumbbells?" Cody asked as he managed to get his foot out from under the bag and the girl gave a grunt.
"Yes." The girl answered and Trent pat the back of DJ with a grin.
"She's all yours buddy." Trent told him and DJ gulped and shook his head at her aggressive and cold behavior.
"Welcome Eva everybody." Chris said and Eva gave a short nod of acknowledgement as the next boat arrived and off stepped a large bodied boy with a white shirt with a canadian maple leaf on it.
"How's it going everybody? It's great to be here." The boy cheered with enthusiasm and Chris walked over to him.
"Welcome Owen. Glad to have you here." Chris greeted and Owen picked him up and hugged him tightly.
"It's so cool to meet you Chris!" Owen said happily and Chris grunted in pain as Owen set him down and Chris groaned as he felt his chest.
"Definitely bruised a rib." Chris said as Owen looked sheepish at this.
"Sorry dude." Owen apologized as he rubbed his neck with guilt and Chris shook his head.
"No problem, just don't go doing that again." Chris told him and Owen nodded his head quickly in agreement as the next boat pulled in.
"It's nice to meet all of you. I hope we work well together." The next girl greeted as she walked off the boat with her head held high and Chris helped her off the boat.
"And this is Courtney everybody." Chris introduced and Courtney waved at everybody and some waved back as she walked over to join them as the next arrival came and a gorgeous boy walked off the boat and all the girls except for Katie and Beth started drooling over him, and even Owen was enthralled by him.
"He's not that hot." Beth seemed confused as to why everyone was suddenly attracted to him as Katie just looked at him and shook her head in dismay as Duncan tapped on Geoff's shoulder.
"Wanna throw pretty boy into the lake?" Duncan asked and Geoff shrugged and then nodded in agreement and as he was posing, Chris was scowling slightly.
"You're not as hot as I am, Justin." Chris claimed and Justin didn't pay him attention as Duncan and Geoff snuck around behind him and grabbed him by his arms and then proceeded to swing him back and forth before throwing him into the lake, leaving most of the girls to glare at them.
"What? You act as if he's the end all be all man." Duncan crossed his arms and Geoff just gave a nervous smile as Justin swam to shore as the next and final boat arrived and an orange haired girl was walking off of it and waved until she tripped and banged her chin off of the dock and fell into the water. Trent immediately ran over to help her and helped her up with the nearby Bridgette's help.
"Hey, you ok?" Bridgette asked as the girl suddenly sprung to her feet.
"Woo hoo! Izzy liked that! Let's do it again." The now identified Izzy said crazily as she hopped around Bridgette and Trent.
"Hey when's lunch?" Izzy quickly stopped hopping and rubbed her stomach in hunger.
"Great question!" Owen shouted his agreement and Chris held up a hand.
"First things first, group photo time. Everyone bunch up." Chris ordered and the campers all shuffled to the edge of the docks away from their luggage and in front of the Wawanakwa sign. As Chris stood in front of them to take the picture, the boards creaked slightly.
"Say cheese." Chris said and the campers all said cheese and then Chris gave an evil grin as the wood creaked more.
"Wait, forgot the lens cap," Chris said as he removed the lens cap to stall for more time and the campers looked annoyed by this, "Ok say Wawanakwa!"
"Wawanakwa!" The campers all said as before Chris could take the photo, the dock beneath them cracked under the weight and broke and all the campers were sent into the water below. Chris then took pictures of Cody hanging onto Owen to stay afloat, Gwen holding onto a piece of wood, Bridgette helping Courtney and Katie onto the beach and Dawn talking to a crab, completely dry, as a befuddled and wet Harold looked at her as a nearby Heather wringed out her hair.
Once everyone was safe on the beach, Chris walked over to the sands of the beach and gave a grin and most of them glared at him.
"Ok everybody, follow me to the campfire ceremony area. The interns will bring your belongings to the cabins." Chris instructed and the wet campers all followed him to the campfire, which had small logs as the seats in the area near the fire and a podium where Chris stood.
"This is where the elimination ceremonies will take place after a challenge. Usually they are every three days, but sometimes not. At these ceremonies, I will give those gathered a marshmallow, except for one unlucky individual. The one who does not get the marshmallow has been voted off and must walk down the Dock of Shame, board the Boat of Losers, and leave Total Drama Island, never to return." Chris infomed with some dramatic flare in his voice and some campers seemed nervous at this as Duncan rolled his eyes at the attempt at drama.
"Now then, there will be two teams of eleven campers. When I call your name, please get on my left. Heather, Gwen, Owen, Ezekiel, Trent, Beth, Lindsay, Justin, Izzy, Leshawna, and Noah. You shall henceforth be known as," Chris called out and once they were all gathered he handed Owen a large green cylinder, "The Screaming Gophers!"
Owen let the cylinder unravel into a tapestry with an actual portrayal of a screaming gopher on the front of it. Cody then gulped as he looked at Duncan as the remaining campers walked to join into a group.
"The rest of you, Duncan, Cody, Bridgette, Dawn, Eva, Geoff, DJ, Katie, Tyler, Harold and Courtney. You will be known as…" Chris then tossed Eva a red tapestry that was rolled up and she let it fall, "The Killer Bass."
"Awesome." Harold breathed out as he saw the knitted bass on the red tapestry and Duncan scoffed.
"Yeah cause Bass are really cool." Duncan dismissed what Harold said and Harold scowled but didn't retort.
"Cabins will be separated into girls and boys cabins, divided by whatever team you're on. Bass get the right sides of the cabin, Gophers get the left." Chris informed and Duncan raised a hand.
"Can I request a bunk under her?" Duncan motioned towards Leshawna who glared at him.
"You wanna go punk boy?" Leshawna said in anger, looking ready to fight the delinquent.
"Must you antagonize everyone?" Courtney questioned and Duncan shrugged.
"Maybe. Wanna find out, princess?" Duncan grinned and Courtney just threw her hands up in frustration.
"Uh Chip, can I have a cabin with a lakeside view because I'm the prettiest?" Lindsay asked as she raised her hand and said the wrong name.
"It's Chris, and no, the arrangements are already set." Chris informed and Lindsay crossed her arms in a pout and Tyler walked over to her and pat her on the shoulder.
"Hey it's no big deal. You're still the prettiest." Tyler reassured and Lindsay brightened up at this and clapped her hands together happily.
"Woo hoo! We're a team!" Owen pulled Gwen and Ezekiel into a bear hug and they both groaned in pain as Owen suddenly let out a small fart and both of them gagged at the smell.
"Ugh, why are we stuck with him?" Gwen asked and Ezekiel gulped.
"At least you don't have to share a cabin with him." Ezekiel whispered back and Owen didn't hear them, too excited to care to hear what they said.
"Oh yeah, we also have the good old confessional stall, for when you just wanna lay your inner thoughts out to the audience." Chris pointed to an outhouse nearby that was old and had flies all around it and Heather, Justin and Trent all gagged at the sight of it.
"Now you have about an hour until lunchtime, so get settled in campers." Chris told them as he proceeded to walk off in the direction of the mess hall.
Confessional:
"This sucks." Gwen deadpanned as she looked at the camera as she sat in the unclean outhouse.
Confessional 2:
"Oh hello small flies. This place does seem like a haven for you." Dawn talked to the flies as she didn't look at the camera and instead paid attention to the insects in the outhouse.
Confessional 3:
"I have something very important I want to say." Owen stated in a serious voice before he let out a big fart and started laughing to himself.
Confessional 4:
Heather is seen entering the outhouse and going to sit down when suddenly she starts gagging on the smell.
"Owen!" Heather yells in disgust at the smell that permeated in the confessional.
End Confessional:
"I'm getting a top bunk. There is no way I'm sleeping on the bottom and letting one of you fall on me." Heather stated as the Gopher girls entered their room and Leshawna glared at her.
"What are you trying to say, huh?" Leshawna challenged and Heather rolled her eyes.
"I don't need to repeat myself to you." Heather crossed her arms and Leshawna narrowed her eyes as Beth stood between them.
"We don't need to fight. I'm sure we can all get good arrangements." Beth mediated as suddenly Izzy jumped onto her shoulders.
"Woo! I get that bunk!" Izzy claimed as she jumped off of Beth's shoulders, sending her to the ground, and landed on one of the top bunks and started gnawing at the sheets.
"Is she sane?" Gwen questioned and for the first time, Leshawna and Heather agreed as they shook their heads at this and Gwen shook her head.
"I guess I'll get the bunk beneath her." Gwen decided and walked over to the bunk and sat down on it.
"Oh oh! Can I have the window bunk?" Lindsay raised her hand excitedly and Heather nodded.
"You get the bottom and I get the top." Heather said and Lindsay nodded excitedly as she and Heather claimed their bunk.
"You can get the top bunk girl. I'll take the bottom." Leshawna pat Beth on the shoulders and Beth smiled at her as she took her bunk and Leshawna dragged her luggage over to her now claimed bunk. Meanwhile, in the Bass side of the girls cabin, the girls had already gotten their arrangements without a hassle and were now just unpacking, except Dawn who had brought nothing.
"Hey Dawn, where's your stuff?" Bridgette asked as she put her surfboard under her bunk.
"Oh, it's here." Dawn pulled out a small green bag from under her bed that no one had seen before.
"How did that…?" Courtney seemed very confused at this as she put her clothes into a drawer.
"Oh I have been on this island before and left it here because the aura of the island told me I would return." Dawn explained and Eva scoffed.
"Ok aura gal. Keep living in your fantasy." Eva dismissed as she pulled out two weights in her bags and started doing curls with them and Dawn just shook her head as she glanced over at Katie, who still looked upset at missing her friend. Bridgette also noticed this and went over to her bunk and tapped on her legs as they hung over the edge.
"Hey, need some help unpacking?" Bridgette offered and Katie nodded silently as she got off the top bunk to begin unpacking with Bridgette's help.
Confessional:
"It's hard being away from friends. I miss my friends back home too. But I guess she's feeling that more than me." Bridgette said as she felt empathy for Katie's distress.
End Confessional:
As this happened, the Bass boys had all gotten into the bunks and Cody had walked out the door as Duncan just looked over at him.
"Why is that kid just avoiding me so much?" Duncan asked Geoff, who just shrugged in response.
"I'll go ask dudes!" Tyler offered as he went to get off the top bunk but then fell flat on his face on the floor, leaving Duncan laughing at him and Harold just sighed and went to help Tyler up.
"I'm sure he has his reasons. Maybe you remind him of something bad." DJ offered and Duncan shrugged.
"As if I know. But if he doesn't wanna work with us, then he'll be voted off." Duncan didn't think much of what Cody was thinking.
Confessional:
"Oh god, why is Duncan here? He's the biggest bully ever. How doesn't he even remember me?" Cody asked in a panic as he took some deep breaths to calm down.
"Ok, I need to keep my cool. Maybe reading some comics until lunch will help." Cody told himself as he had finally calmed down for the first time since he arrived on the island.
End Confessional:
The camera then showed the Gopher boys all looking at their bunks and then at Owen.
"So who gets to share with him?" Noah decided to ask and everyone looked around at each other.
"Guys it won't be so bad. There's not even any girls here. Err I mean I like girls, but this is boys only here. Wait, I mean yeah guys side!" Owen awkwardly cheered and Trent cast a glance at Justin.
"I get top, you get bottom?" Trent asked and the silent model nodded in agreement and Ezekiel and Noah cast glances at each other.
"Eh, uh… oh there's the one free bed with no top bunk." Ezekiel quickly ran for the singular bed and Noah sighed as he looked at Owen.
"Guess I get the top bunk." Noah said unenthusiastically and Owen smiled at him.
"Woo! Give me five little buddy!" Owen held up his hand for a high five and Noah half heartedly gave him one as they went to grab their bags.
After they were done unpacking, some campers had made their way outside to relax until lunchtime.
"Hey Chip, where can I plug in my hair straightener?" Lindsay asked as Chris walked into the cabin area to check on the campers.
"There's the communal bathrooms." Chris told her and Lindsay tilted her head at this.
"But I don't go to church." Lindsay said in confusion as Gwen walked out next to her.
"It means we share a bathroom." Gwen informed and Lindsay let out a loud cry at this and everyone looked at her and some poked their heads out of their cabins to see the commotion.
"Yo Chris, where's the supervision around here?" Geoff asked as he adjusted his hat on the porch of the cabin.
"You're all sixteen, the same age as any counselor in training. The only supervision around here is me and our camp cook." Chris informed and Geoff pumped his fist as Courtney looked unsure of this.
"Will you ensure that no one tries anything… inappropriate at least?" Courtney asked in slight worry and Chris nodded.
"It's part of the contract that you all don't do anything like that around here. Kissing and stuff is fine, but no going to second base here." Chris made sure to say loudly so all could here and Duncan just snapped his fingers in joking defeat.
"If you do get caught doing that, you could be eliminated from the competition immediately." Chris warned and Courtney nodded.
"Thank you for clarifying." Courtney said as she glanced at Geoff, who just chuckled innocently at this.
"I wasn't planning to do anything dudette." Geoff assured her and Courtney rolled her eyes, clearly not believing his statement. Suddenly a loud pitched scream was heard from the girl's cabin and some campers ran over to check it out.
"That girl sure can scream." Leshawna commented as she looked into their side of the cabin and saw Lindsay on a stool to avoid a cockroach on the ground. As DJ, Tyler, Gwen and Harold poked their head in to see this, DJ screamed as well and jumped and landed onto one of the beds.
"That… was my bed." Gwen sighed as the other campers went into a panic to try and stomp on the cockroach, who just ran around and avoided everyone, until he hit Duncan's feet and he was holding an axe. Duncan went to swing the axe down but stopped as Dawn picked up the cockroach.
"Oh you poor small soul. Let me bring you back outside away from danger." Dawn pet the cockroach and the cockroach didn't move and let Dawn carry her as everyone watched the scene in confusion.
"Well at least the cockroach is gone now." Tyler pat Duncan on the shoulder and Duncan looked at the axe frowned.
"Wish I could've used this thing." Duncan commented as he walked back out with the axe in hand and Lindsay got down from the stool.
"I could've taken care of that too." Tyler claimed to Lindsay and she just kissed him on the cheek.
"That would be great." Lindsay smiled and Tyler blushed deeply as Gwen glared at him and Leshawna grabbed Tyler, DJ and Harold by their shirts.
"Show is over boys, now out!" Leshawna then tossed the boys out the door and they landed with a thud on the ground with a groan of pain.
Confessional:
"I think Lindsay likes me." Tyler said with a happy smile to the camera and pumped his fist in excitement.
End Confessional:
The camera then cuts to show the campers all in a line in the mess hall in order to get food as a burly man with a permanent scowl on his face was behind the counter.
"I serve it three times a day and you will eat it three times a day!" The chef shouted loudly for everyone to hear.
"Have a cow." Owen whispered to Noah, who snorted silently as the chef glared at Owen.
"What'd you said fat boy? I didn't hear you!" He yelled and Owen gulped.
"Nothing sir." Owen said quickly with fear and walked forward to get food and he made sure to give the boy extra food and gave Noah a little less and Noah gagged as he saw it move.
"Does this have sugar in it? I get hypoglycemic without enough sugar." Harold asked as he approached the counter with a tray and the chef just glared at him and growled and Harold didn't speak up again in fear as he got his food and left.
"Is this nutritious? I started a diet recently and my mom doesn't want it ruined." Lindsay asked as she approached and Gwen was right behind her.
"I don't think that'll be an issue." Gwen told her and Lindsay nodded as she got her food and Gwen went to get hers. The chef then gave an evil smile as he let the food fall out of the scoop and then the moving food moved back up to the scoop but then fell again and Gwen shuddered at this as she grabbed an apple nearby to eat too.
Once everyone was sitting down in their seats, Chris walked in to see the fear everyone had of their meal.
"Dude, can we order a pizza instead?!" Geoff asked and suddenly a large cleaver flew by Geoff's head and embedded itself in the wall next to the entrance. Geoff then looked down at his food.
"Slop is also good." Geoff said as he started to pick at his food and Chris gave a thumbs up to the chef.
"Keep up the good work Chef Hatchet," Chris congratulated as he turned to the campers and raised one finger as he began to walk out of the mess hall, "Your first challenge is in one hour."
"What do you think they'll have us do?" Katie asked DJ as she had barely eaten her food and DJ shrugged.
"It's the first challenge, how hard can it be?" DJ said and Katie could just hope he was not jinxing it.
An hour later, the campers and Chris found themselves on the top of a very high cliff, overlooking the water. Katie then smacked DJ in the arm for jinxing it at lunch and DJ nervously chuckled.
"Holy shit!" Owen yelled in fear as he looked over the edge and saw how far the drop was, and could just barely see shark fins poking out of the water.
"Welcome to your first challenge campers." Chris announced dramatically and everyone seemed nervous as they stood in their bathing suits and could only assume what they had to do, given where they were.
"This is… gonna suck." Noah told Gwen who could only nod in her agreement at the sentiment before the camera panned out to a shot of the cliff before the episode ended by fading to black.
AN: Yep, already differences in spades. Cody is more similar to canon (aka I'm not making him a juvenile) but he's still not his canon self in trying to win girls over. Also, Sadie has been removed and replaced with Dawn. I just knew that Sadie would have just been an early elimination like my previous story, so I wanted to have someone else that wasn't just a clone of Katie, and thus I chose Dawn. Teams are also different from the previous story and there's just a lot of change. I honestly just hate the stuff I did involving Mal and Scarlett in the original story so they won't be in this one, at least not until they're supposed to be in canon. Anyways, elimination order will be different than the original, so someone who made it far before may not here. It is a rewrite, so it is going to be different. I hope you look forward to what I have planned. I feel it will be better than the original, given I have had more time and I feel I have improved in my writing. Anyways, I wish you all the best in whatever time of day it is.
