CHAPTER 1:

(Village in the Land of Fire, October 10th, 10 Years Earlier:)

A giant fox tore through the village. It brought down its claw destroying many buildings and causing chaos. The villagers ran screaming trying to get as far away from the destruction while the various Demon Slayers try to lead them to safety.

"Hold it off until Minato gets here!" Hiruzen said and all of the Demon Slayers nodded in affirmation.

"SUMMONING JUTSU!" was heard and a giant toad landed on the fox, pinning it down. On top of its head was a man with blue eyes and spiky, blond hair that had two jaw length bangs on either side of his face. He was wearing the standard Demon Slayer uniform under a short-sleeved, high collar, long white haori, closed in the front by a thin, red rope. The haori was decorated by red flame designs on the edges, with the kanji for "Yondaime" written on the back.

It was Minato Namikaze. The Demon Slayers started to cheer.

"Hold the Kyuubi! Just for a little while longer!" Minato directed Gamabunta.

"I'll do my best but that'll be difficult even for me!" Gamambunta replied.

'I'm gonna need a lot of chakra to transport such a large object away.' Minato thought while gathering chakra.

The Kyuubi started to form a Bijuu Bomb in its mouth right before Hiruzen's eyes. The old lord closed his eyes, awaiting his death until he heard a large poof. He opened his eyes to see a large plume of smoke and Gamabunta standing on nothing.

"Minato?" he questioned while looking around to see no sign of the blonde. Realization dawned upon him. "He transported the Kyuubi with him?!"

After that statement, Hiruzen and the other Demon Slayers saw a bright light in the distance. "Over there!" he yelled as he started to make his way to the barren fields.

The Kyuubi growled menacingly with its nine tails swinging dangerously. Minato appeared a short distance away in a yellow flash. He was holding his wife, Kushina Uzumaki, and his newborn son, Naruto Uzumaki. Kushina had violet eyes, and the common Uzumaki red hair. Her hair was straight and reached her ankles with shoulder-length strands that framed both sides of her face and a black clip that parts her hair to the left. She wore a tan kimono that exposed her stomach at the moment.

Naruto had short yellow-blond, spiky hair and blue eyes, much like his father, with barely noticeable strands of red hair while inheriting the shape of his mother's eyes and face. He had three whisker markings on his cheeks, due to him being born while his mother still had the Kyuubi sealed inside of her.

Minato set Kushina on the ground who was slowly dying from the extraction of her Bijuu and only managed to stay alive due to her Uzumaki heritage.

"Minato…" Kushina said in a strained voice, "I can still do it." Golden chains sprouted from the redhead's back and wrapped around the beast, restraining it. It growled in frustration. Kushina coughed up blood as Naruto started to cry. Kushina looked at her child and chuckled.

"Woke you up huh? Sorry...Naruto."

"Kushina…" Minato said with a sad look on his face.

"I'll take it with me… so we can increase the interval for when it returns. It's all I can manage now… with the chakra I have left...but I'll be able to save you both" Kushina said with a sad smile.

Tears started to well up in Minato's eyes and Naruto started to cry again, sensing his mother's sadness.

"Kushina…" Minato said with a serious look on his face, "Save what chakra you have...for your reunion with Naruto." Kushina's eyes widened.

"I'm going to seal the rest of your chakra in Naruto along with some of mine. It'll be part of an 8 Trigrams Seal and then...I'll take the Kyuubi with me. Since I'm not a Jinchuuriki, I would have to use the Reaper Death Seal. I will only seal half of it, the other half… will go into Naruto"

Kushina got out of her shock, "Why!? You'll die and Naruto will have no one to take care of him!"

Minato replied without hesitation, "I believe Naruto is the Child of Prophecy Jiraiya-sensei spoke of. If that is true, he will need all the power he can get."

"How can you be so sure?" Kushina asked.

"Call it...a hunch"

"But Minato…" Kushina retorted but it was too late.

Minato set Naruto down and went through the Snake, Boar, Ram, Rabbit, Dog, Rat, Bird, Horse, Snake hand seals and clapped his hands. The transparent form of the Shinigami appeared behind Minato and drew half of the Kyuubi's power to seal. The seal appeared on Minato's stomach.

The Kyuubi shrunk due to having half of its power taken away. He looked over to the family and saw Naruto. Not wanting to be sealed again, he thrusted his nail forward intending to kill the newborn.

Unexpectedly, Minato and Kushina jumped in front of the nail getting impaled. Minato had blood leaking from his mouth and Kushina was coughing up blood as well. Their blood trailed down the nail with a couple drops landing on Naruto's forehead.

I'm his father...dying for him is...my duty" Minato said in a strained voice

Yes but I'm his mother. It's my duty...as well" Kushina retorted.

Minato drew his blood from the nail and wiped it on his palm. He went through the Boar, Dog, Bird, Monkey, and Ram hand seals and said, "Summoning Jutsu!"

A black and Orange scroll toad appeared with his arms crossed, "The Kyuubi?" he asked confusedly. He turned his attention to see Minato and Kushina, impaled.

"Minato?! Just what the hell is going on here!?"

"Gerotora...I'll give you the sealing formula's key. When I'm done, take it to Jiraiya-sensei to store it." Minato said.

After a while, Gerotora received the key, "I confirm I received the key. Alright I'm off now" he said and disappeared into smoke.

"Kushina," Minato said, directing his attention to her, "We don't have much time, so I will start the sealing process. We won't see him for a long time...so lets tell him what we want to say."

"Naruto...don't be a picky eater. Eat lots so you can grow up big and strong. Make sure to bathe everyday and that you stay warm too. Also, don't stay up too late, you need plenty of sleep. Don't forget to make friends as well. You don't need a ton of them, okay? Just a few is fine, as long as they're ones that you can really trust. Study hard and always remember that everyone is good at some things and not so good at others.

Always respect your teachers and the elderly. Oh, now this is important...be extra careful about lending and borrowing money. Take your pay and put it in a savings account. No alcohol, not until you're of age. Too much sake is bad for you so practice moderation.

And another thing is women. Remember, I am one so I don't know much about it. Keep in mind that this world is made up of men and women. At some point you'll notice girls and that's normal. Just be careful and don't fall for the bad ones. Find someone...like me.

Minato smiled and Kushina started to cry.

"Naruto…" Kushina started, "There will be plenty of hardships and painful times ahead. Just be true to yourself. Make sure to have dreams and the confidence to make those dreams come true. Oh Naruto there's so much, there's so much more to tell you. There's so much I want to pass onto you. I just wish i had...more time with you. I love you. Minato I'm sorry, I used up your time."

"No, it's alright. Naruto...my words to you, well I guess your talkative mom...said it all." Minato said.

"8 Sign Seal" he whispered, 'The village will see you as a hero' he thought

Boy was he wrong.
