I do not own Genshin Impact or Fate.

I hope you all enjoy; I got this idea when looking into Genshin Impact and absolutely falling in love with the gods Barbatos and Morax.

I feel like either one would fit into Fate well with their ideologies, histories, and actions in regard to humanity, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Please leave reviews and constructive criticism is always welcome, English isn't my strength so apologies ahead of time.

The god walked through the market like any other individual. The only person somewhat knowing of his identity was the master who had summoned him to this foreign world, which despite knowing so little of he already admired all the same.

"The sharp line work in this statue is quite detailed and precise, far beyond anything human hands alone could achieve. It would be a shame not to purchase such an item." The lord of Geo remarked to himself, his sharp inhuman diamond eyes never leaving the object.

"That's because it wasn't carved by humans, machines did it. It's hardly unique most things are made like that these days." Waver Velvet replied from behind the god, his voice tired from all the side quests he and his servant had been on when heading to finalise their contract.

"I see, so to obtain something of true value we should look for imperfections" Zhongli noted as he turned towards his master.

Under his breath Waver mumbled, "Oh I don't know the Holy grail seems pretty valuable to me." Some would consider the young magus a fool for risking a god's irritation, but he just couldn't help it for the being before him now was just so… Human!

A perfect disguise, something so different from when he was summoned what with the vast pillar of golden light flying into the air, his body levitating of the ground, and that aura of divinity! Perhaps the unrecognisable appearance was a good thing though considering unsubtle summoning, every master would be looking for them now.

But despite all that Waver Velvet felt not a moment of regret. It was a success, a success greater than anything he could have ever possibly imagined or planned. He had summoned a god! An actual god whose power felt like it could slice mountains with ease and reshape the very land itself.

The other master's stood no chance! Even if they all stood united there was no way they could win!

Waver didn't know that it was possible to summon a god from the throne of heroes into the grail war, but that only made the accomplishment all the more impressive.

Admittedly, there were some things to still work out such as who his divine servant was in history. The name Zhongli didn't sound familiar. Not to mention figuring out how the servant could maintain his existence in the world without needing a master to provide him with magical energy.

But those concerns were for later as he had a proper contract to form with the god which went beyond master and servant. He initially thought this to be a hinderance, his servant not wanting to obey him, but the reality was far from it. The figure before him didn't look down making demands. No, he wanted to negotiate with him and hear what he had to say.

Him, a god wanted to know his perspective and not just offhandedly but through a professional meeting.

He knew it! He knew he had merit!

He'd win the grail war and show Kayneth Archibald that Waver Velvet was right!

Unfortunately, on their way to said meeting Waver discovered the first thing that would possibly be a hinderance to their alliance. It appeared the respect the god showed him when they first met extended to all humans, especially the stuff they made.

They had initially agreed to formalise and lay bare everything over a meal… that was supposed to have taken place three hours ago! But every store they passed had grabbed Zhongli's attention from T-shirts to pottery.

He was thankful that he could convince the god to not buy much on the merit that most items before his divine highness were of everyday use and not that rare or special. That little statement had unfortunately led Waver into buying a dozen books on Japanese culture and history due to Zhongli insisting on knowing as many about the local customs as possible. It still was an overall money saver however as his wallet wouldn't be gutted within a day.

Weren't gods supposed to be interested in gems or other diving objects?

Regardless the young magus had learned something important, gods were expensive. Which made sense considering that they lorded over whole regions of the planet during their age. The boy gulped; he hoped the war would be won before the last of his pennies were spent… Maybe he could ask Melvin for more?

Waver's recall of the past few hectic hours was interrupted as Zhongli spoke up once more, this time in response to Wavers previous statement "My apologise it appears I was distracted again, how far away is the restaurant we were to dine at?"

"Oh, it's fine its right across the street actually." He pointed past the shop window where the Ramen shop was located… Ok, so it may not have been the most befitting place for a god and Magus but even the two of them had to deal with almighty budget constraining their movements. Although the god seemed incapable of grasping that.

"Very well then, let us be off." Zhongli gestured with his hand letting Waver lead the way.

When they entered the store a seat was found next to the front window and Waver gladly put down the bags he had been crying for well over an hour. The hungry teen proceeded to quickly read over the menu before which displayed a wide variety of Ramen types.

"I'll take the Tonkotsu Ramen and a water to drink please." Waver ordered as Zhongli kept staring at the menu before him, "Is something wrong?" Waver asked a little nervous. His body wasn't aching and as a result he was less irritated now, in hindsight maybe he should have foot the bill for a nicer place.

"There are a wide variety options before us." The god said stating the obvious.

Oh, he mustn't be familiar with modern day dinning options thought Waver, "Ya, were supposed to pick which ever one we personally like."

"A very challenging yet rewarding business model. However, if we are to truly experience what this establishment has to offer, we will have to discern what the best dish is."

Oh no, though Waver as he could see where this was headed. But before he could stop it the voice of the chef spoke up and said with a grin, "then why don't you try all of them and figure out which one is the best!"

"A prudent solution, we'll take one of each dish." The god said in his completely calm and unfortunately serious voice.

It was then that Waver decided, when he won this grail, he'd make a wish. Not for prestige or knowledge… But for a big pile of money.
