A Rough Start
Hello my good friends and family of Fanfiction! I am back again with my brand new spin off 'A Family's Acceptance', which will also be my final spin off before we return to the sequel 'The Adventures Of The Samba Club 2' which I've already started planning! I always plan ahead! That's how I post chapters frequently, because I plan them out in advance! So, in this story we will be taking a look at our beloved owl couple Alex and Siax! As they head off to Siax's birth place in Cairo Egypt! Where he will be meeting her parents for the very first time! Plus, Blu and Jewel will also be there to give him some support, as the two of them haven't known or lost their parents at a young age! But…if you remember correctly…this story is linked to the other stories! So a certain character has already been here in Cairo before…so I wonder what surprises they will face while visiting?! So without further ado ladies and gentlemen! Let's get to the first chapter!
A very warm, and calm day had emerged over the horizon. Not like the usual hot sunny day, where birds would be flying around and singing, with creatures enjoying the water privileges to cool themselves down.
But the problem with this is, our four favourite feathery friends are currently embarking on a beautiful journey to Egypt!
Siax in particular was very excited about this little trip that she planned with her new husband. She was very perky, very upbeat, and she was in the best possible mood that she could be in!
Her husband on the other hand…ughhh…not so much! In fact, he was still feeling very nervous about this whole trip.
The snowy owl male as we all know him as Alex, was feeling the pressure of meeting the family who raised his wife since she was a young chick! It always occurred to him that one day he would have the opportunity to meet them in person! But he is feeling very nervous about this, and he couldn't stop pacing up and down on the plane, with his wings on the back of his head.
Blu and Jewel both just sat there, watching him walk up and down in front of them, and it made them quite confused about the way he was acting. But at the same time they did find it a little amusing to say the least.
"Hey! Perky bird!" Blu called out to his friend as a joke, and clicked his wingtips to get his attention. "Will you stop freaking out? It's not like they are going to murder you, for taking their little princess off their wings?"
"Well you are lucky that Jewel is still with you, after you couldn't even do it right during your first time with her!" The snowy owl male retorted with a sarcastic grin, and continued pacing up and down.
"HEY! Blu is a great lover! He just…needed some more practice! He is now a natural in the nest!" Jewel snapped back as he nuzzled her face against his face, making him blush in embarrassment.
"Oh yeah, I bet he needed to learn how to get on top!" Alex snapped back again in annoyance with a sarcastic smile. But Blu wasn't having any of it!
"Why are you being such a dick? Don't take your own nerves and frustrations out on me? I didn't do or say anything to you to do that to me?" Blu answered back in annoyance and gave him a slap on the back of his head.
"Sorry Blu! I really am! I'm just…I'm just so fucking nervous! Do you have any idea how it's incredibly important for me to make a real good impression? If I screw this up massively, they might not deem me worthy of being married to their daughter!" Alex sadly replied as he lowered his head a little in disgust.
"Yeah but…you shouldn't really care what they think! What matters is that you love Siax, and you would do anything to protect her! How could your parents in law not accept you for that? They would definitely deem you worthy!" Jewel tried her best to calm her friend down, and in the nicest way possible.
"You really think so?" Alex asked with hopeful eyes and a bright smile. "You sure they won't judge me or hate me too quickly?"
"We know so!" All three of them spun around to notice Siax walking up to her husband and kissed him on the cheek. "Honey would you relax? It's not like they hate locals! They love travellers!"
"Well…I hope you are right about that! It would be a huge nightmare if they…WOAHHHH!" Alex immediately got cut off his sentence, and flew into the wall of the cargo hold, and then landed on his butt. "Ouch! That's gonna hurt later on!"
"Oh my god! What the hell just happened?" Jewel placed a wing on her heart while looking outside of the cargo hold. "Did we land already?"
"Either that, or a bloody human shot the plane down!" Blu replied with a little bit of agitation, as he was picking Alex up off of the ground. "Are you alright dude?"
"Yeah…I think so?" The snowy owl male replied as he rubbed his sore backside. "Ow! My buttocks hurts!"
"I'm sorry…am I hearing things or did you say buttocks?" Blu added while laughing out loud.
"Oh shut the fuck up!" Alex snapped and smacked Blu on his beak.
"Erm guys? I think the humans are opening the door! I think we have landed in Cairo?" Jewel beamed in excitement as she took a couple of steps backwards.
"Really? What makes you think…" Blu was about to say, but as soon as he started talking the door shot open. And as soon as it did, a very angry Egyptian gentlemen started screaming at them.
"HEY! THERE SHOULDN'T BE BIRDS ON HERE! ALI! GET THE GUN!" The man screamed angrily as his assistant ran off to support him.
"GUN?! SHIT! FLY! FLY FOR OUR LIVES!" Blu screamed in a panic, as all four birds flapped their wings and zoomed out of the plane as fast as they could.
"HEY! GET BACK HERE!" The man known as Ali shouted with rage, and went to pull the trigger on the gun, but his friend just put his hand on the gun and pushed it down.
"Ahhh, just forget them my friend! Now…let's go and drop these canned goods off to your sisters!"
A Few Seconds Later…
"Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my…" Alex kept chorusing over and over and over again when the four of them landed on top of a roof of a broken building. Until Jewel slapped him across the face to snap him out of it. "Thanks…I needed that!"
"No problem Alex! Are you alright?" The blue spix's female macaw giggled when seeing Alex panic like that.
"Sorry…I just hear the word gun and I'm out of there!" He replied in fear, as he sat down on the roof and fell flat on his back in exhaustion.
"Hang on a second there? Doesn't Dominic and Lexi use a gun? You weren't afraid of them?" Blu pointed out the obvious with a curious gaze.
"Well it's okay if they use it! They wouldn't shoot at us on purpose!"
"Yeah well…You wouldn't believe what happened back in Rio!" Jewel added to the conversation, and laid her head on her husband's shoulder.
"What happened Jewel? Did something bad happen?" Siax asked in concern, and started rubbing her wrist nervously.
"Well…Malcom…dumped Lexi yesterday…" Blu softly spoke with a little bit of sadness, and placed a wing on his head. "It was horrible! I heard screaming from a few metres away, coming from Lexi shouting Malcom's name! Poor guy…I still can't believe Lexi cheated on him?"
All three birds slowly turned to face him with blank expressions. To kind of say the words 'Are you serious?' Without even saying the words.
"You know what I mean! Do you think it was wise to leave Malcom on his own? It must be a really difficult time for him right now?"
(If only they knew what happened afterwards…)
"I suppose so! But Lexi has only got herself to blame! If she really loved Malcom that much, then she would have confronted him that night he was talking to another girl! And besides, he wasn't even flirting with her! He was just trying to be nice to her after she hurt herself while flying!" Siax replied with a soft expression.
"Yeah…anyway, let's get back to the task at hand eh? Now…where do we go from here Siax?" Blu kindly asked their tour guide for the day! Making her smile at her friend and motion her head towards the skies.
"Just follow me guys! I will take you to my parents who live in Cairo's richest area! I would say a great place, but I haven't been here in years so I would t know! Anyway, let's go!" The burrowing owl female flapped her wings excitedly, and Jewel immediately followed suit.
Before Alex flapped his wings…he felt a…cold shiver running down his spine. And Blu immediately noticed the discomfort he was in. "Still nervous? Don't worry Alex! You are gonna be great!" Blu praised him to keep his confidence up! But that…wasn't exactly the thing that was troubling him at this point.
"It's not that Blu! It's…it's about this area! Something…feel free to disagree…but something doesn't feel right?" He replied a little cautiously, and checked over his shoulder to make sure that nobody was watching him. "Do you get the sense we are being watched right now?"
The blue male realised the same feeling, and he too looked in the same direction as Alex. But with the same look in his eye, he too felt what Alex was feeling. "I think you might be right? But…question is…who is watching us?"
As the snowy owl male went to respond, he heard his beloved wife shouting at him.
"HEY! WILL YOU HURRY THE BLOODY HELL UP?!" Siax shouted in anger while narrowing her eyes at him. "Why are you still standing there?"
"Sorry sweetie! I was just…thinking of what to say when I meet your parents?" Alex lied, as he didn't want to tell her the reason why himself and Blu haven't left the roof yet. "Coming dear!"
"Wow, how manly you are!" Blu chuckled in amusement and flapped his wings to join his wife in the sky. "Come on dear!" Blu joked as he flew up to his wife.
"Oh will you just shut up!" Alex shouted back in annoyance as he too joined them for n the journey to his parents in law's place.
A few metres away, someone was watching them! And this bird had a large build, had a spear in his left wing, and a scar down the right hand side of his face.
He gazed at the birds flying away, and he tilted his head to the side in curiosity. As if he knew them from somewhere. But he was very intrigued by their appearance.
"Hmmmm, very interesting! I wonder if that blue bird works for you eh? Or is he supposedly here to sight see?" The bird thought to himself, as his attention slowly turned to Jewel who was laughing and flying alongside the blue male he was gazing at.
He started licking his beak and started to wipe the sweat from his forehead.
"Woah…she is something else! Wouldn't mind giving her a little bit of pressure!" He chuckled maliciously and looked her up and down. "Hmmm, I wonder if they…are friends with the assassin huh? Must be a tricky business! I better keep my eye on these little birdies!"
Meanwhile…
As the day was moving on, our four feathery friends continued on their journey throughout the city.
They saw a lot of humans wearing clothing that was pretty peculiar to Jewel and Alex. Whereas Blu and Siax just admired the way they dressed and it caused Blu to give a…little history lesson.
"Wow, I've never seen so many people wear shawls before! This is very fascinating! Did you know that Egyptian folk wear these? Fascinating!" Blu beamed as he continued to admire them.
"I know right? I actually used to wear this when I was in royalty! I like the beautiful colours and it also protected me from the heat! That's why I love Rio, because it's beautiful and the heat isn't too hot!" The burrowing owl female replied as the two of them flew alongside each other. "You really seem to be intrigued by my country?"
"Are you kidding? This is one of the best days of my life! I'm so gonna love this trip!" Blu replied happily and laughed with Siax.
Jewel and Alex flew just behind them, and kept rolling their eyes when talking about Egypt like they read it out of an encyclopaedia.
"Ughhhh…can we go just one trip without a history lesson? Is that too much to ask?" Alex whispered to Jewel who nodded her head in agreement.
"Tell me about it! When we were laying in the nest, he explained to me what the Egyptians did in Ancient times! I fell asleep after the first sentence!" Jewel remarked as she rolled her eyes at her husband. "When I get back to Rio, I'm gonna find the biggest book I can find and smack Martin with it!"
"Martin? Why him?" The snowy owl replied with confusion and…kind of fear.
"He taught Blu how to read? Did he not tell you about Rafael's bachelor party in Minnesota?"
"No? Although…Jameson did tell me when he first met you guys? So I might have heard the majority of that story!" He responded with a mild chuckle, and continued to listen in on his wife's conversation with his good friend.
"Wow Blu! I'm impressed that you know so much about Egypt! My parents are going to love you!" Siax remarked with a playful nudge as she flew alongside him.
"Easy there Siax! You don't want to talk me up too much! Not that I would stop you!" The blue macaw joked again, as the two of them just laughed together.
Jewel felt a little bit annoyed when she did that, and then she flew in between them as she picked up the pace.
"So…why are we flying across these buildings? I would have thought that your parents would have their own land or something?" The blue spix's female tried to change the subject.
Blu was a little confused with why his wife was acting like that, but he just let it go over his head for the time being. And carried on with the travel.
"Well, we are almost there! As Blu was explaining, we tend to live on the best part of land! Away from the humans so we aren't hunted or perhaps…killed!"
"K-K-Killed?" Alex stuttered nervously, and kept looking over his shoulder to see if any humans were staring at them.
"Relax sweetie! They aren't going to kill us now! They only kill us if we get in their way! Luckily for us we managed to escape the plane before anything bad happened!" The burrowing owl female reassured her husband.
"But hold on a second…don't we have to get on the plane back? How are we supposed to do that without being shot?" Blu asked seriously as they were just outside of the humans view.
"We have to fly on the plane as quickly as possible! We can't just fly in there carefully! If we get spotted, then we are screwed!"
"Hahaha Great…we are so gonna die!" Alex whispered to Jewel who also felt a little uneasy about the whole thing.
"Anyway…we are here now! My friends and my beloved! Welcome…to my old home!" Siax annoynced with a bright smile, while showing her friends and husband her old beautiful land.
All four birds stopped in mid-flight to gaze at this beautiful building that was decorated with beautiful flowers and ancient tapestries! Blu and Siax's faces lit up when they saw how amazing the garden looked around the outside.
Whereas Jewel and Alex just laughed at their reactions and also admired the view.
"Wow! This is where you used to live?! This place looks incredible!" The blue spix's macaw male beamed as he went in for a closer look.
"Wait for me Blu!" Siax giggled in amusement and followed him down to the garden.
"Oh god…" Jewel spoke to herself as she watched the two of them flying around the outside of the building.
"What's wrong?" Alex asked in curiosity as he saw his friend was a bit uneasy.
"I think her parents are gonna like Blu more than they do us!" Jewel replied a little annoyed at the fact that she saw Blu having a great time flying with Siax around her old home. "God! If you love playing with her so much, why don't you just marry her!" She snapped in jealousy, huffing a little.
"Oh come on Jewel? They are only having fun!" Alex responded with a chuckle and went to join the others in the garden.
"Ughhh fine! But if those two spend more time together than I do with him, then he will have what's coming to him when we get home!" Jewel huffed again and rejoined her husband and friends.
"Wow! It feels sooooo good to be home! Really makes you feel alive, doesn't it Blu?" The burrowing owl female giggled as Blu was walking besides her.
"Absolutely! You have a gorgeous home! Now I get the fact that you were a princess!" Blu replied with a warm smile, making Siax giggle and blush.
"Oh brother!" Alex slapped his forehead in irritation, as he too felt a little jealous of how much fun they were having together.
"SIAX! YOU ARE BACK!" All four birds quickly turn their heads, and see a rather tall barn owl approaching them rather quickly.
He was freakishly muscular with a red mark down the side of his cheek, with an eyepatch on his right eye. He also had a huge crossbow on his back and a belt full of knives on his torso.
"Oh my god! Keith? I've not seen you in so long!" Siax beamed happily with the brightest smile on her beak, as she walked up to her old friend and gave him a warm hug.
He picked her up and spun her around, then he dipped her like they were dancing. If this wasn't enough he also gave her a sly wink.
"Well it's good to see your beautiful face again Siax! Not since the night of the party!" Keith replied with a warm smile, and he looked like he was going to kiss her.
Which of course extremely irritated a snowy owl male that was clenching his wings into fists.
"Hey sweetie? Want to introduce us to your gay friend?" Alex rudely spoke in spite, as he grabbed her wing and pulled her towards him quickly.
"Okay, first of all he's not gay! Second of all, this is my old childhood friend Keith! Keith, this is my husband Alex!" Siax introduced Alex as her husband, and the barn owl immediately took one look at the snowy owl and scoffed.
"What? Him?! You can't be serious?" Keith chuckled in amusement as he started walking around him with his wings tied behind his back.
"Yes…I am her husband! Is there a problem?" Alex replied a little annoyed at the way the barn owl was trying to intimidate him. But luckily for him Blu and Jewel stood behind him to ensure that he wouldn't do anything stupid.
"Nope! No problem at all snow ball! I'm just saying…she could have a least got you to work out? What are those things around you waist? Are they your metal pom-poms?" He chuckled again as he slowly walked up to Siax and wrapped a wing around her.
"Hold it together…just hold it together!" Blu whispered to his owl friend, who at this point had string negative feelings about his wife's old friend.
"No, they are nunchucks! Plus of course you wouldn't know that, because you are busy putting makeup on your face and holding a spear!" Alex rudely spoke again, and started shooting Keith gold daggers.
"It's war paint! Not that you would use it! You wouldn't last five minutes in a real battle!"
"Actually…we were in a battle recently!" Blu spoke up to defend his good friend, who smiled at him in a warm manner.
"Oh really? I didn't think you guys call a game of duck duck goose a war?"
"Actually…friend! It just so happens that we were in a battle! The battle where we killed Armando believe it or not!" Jewel also spoke up and stood in front of Alex with fire in her eyes.
"I'm sorry…what did you just say?" Keith widened his eyes in surprise when he heard the words emerging from the blue spix's female's beak. "Did you just say…you were the ones who killed Armando?"
"Yes!" Blu, Jewel and Alex simultaneously replied, and didn't avert their eyes from his face for a split second.
"In that case, you better get inside quickly! Siax's parents are gonna wanna talk to all of you!" The barn owl replied in a quick tone and made a 180 degree turn. "Follow me guys! I will take you to the king and queen!"
Keith started walking towards the building entrance and pushed the door open so that the others could follow him inside.
"Guys! Now you come with me!" Keith said again, as the four birds looked at each other and nodded their heads, before following him inside of the building.
"Okay…here goes nothing!" Alex thought you himself, as all four of them walked into the building, and Keith closed the door afterwards. Meaning now…Alex will finally get to meet the parents that he really wants to impress.
Okay that is it for the first chapter ladies and gentlemen! Our friends have travelled to Cairo to visit Siax's parents! Blu and Jewel have decided to go along to help them out as much as they could! Someone is watching them since their arrival, Siax's old childhood friend is already giving Alex a hard time! So what will happen now when they meet the king and queen?
