Hugo Weasely was always bright, but shy. He liked to study, quite unlike his sister, Rose. He never really close to his sister, and he was, as a result, pretty distant from Albus Potter. He, however, was kind of familiar with Lily Potter, Albus's younger sister.

It was this period of time where Hugo felt alone, abandoned. It really was not anyone's fault, and he knew it so well. Rose had fallen really ill, so she was taken back home. Without his sister, Hugo felt lonely even if the two did not have a good bond together. It was only then that he had realized that his sister was not on good terms with Albus. Hugo, while not too familiar with his sister, saw it rude that Albus never asked about her because he knew that the two were hard to separate... What happened to them? However, whenever the boy tried approaching Albus, something occurred, and he failed to tell him anything he had in mind. It was like he was being avoided.

The only other solution, as he thought, was to tell the only person Albus was hanging with since he started artending Hogwarts. That meant... Scorpius Malfoy. He never spoke with that boy simply because there was no actual reason to communicate with him. Though Scorpius was different than Albus, who he occasionally interfaced with. Scorpius was pretty much a total stranger.

Hugo sighed. He only wanted to talk to the Albus, so why did he have to make it so complex? He took a very deep breath, then he walked forward towards Scorpius as he saw him get off his table to leave the great hall. "Um, Scorpius Malfoy?" He said, his voice a little weak from how anxious he was.

"Yes, can i help you?" Scorpius stopped in his tracks, and replied.

"I just had a question about Albus if that is fine." Hugo asked. Scorpius's eyes seemed to light up just a little at the prospect of someone asking him about his best friend. "Sure, go ahead"

"So, you know my older sister and Albus were really close, but suddenly they drifted too far apart. Even when Rose was too sick, he didn't ask about her. Now, he avoids me too much. He never did that. I just wanted to know if he is okay or not." He said quickly.

Scorpius showed a knowing look. Albus did once tell him about how dear Rose was to him. Like a sister, really. He also knew about the conflict that occurred between the two at the beginning of their first year, it acting as the scythe cutting off their friendship.

"They... fought a couple years ago. I don't know if it was something significant or not. Their relationship deteriorated since then." He said. Hugo looked dejected. If Rose was not Albus's friend anymore, he would lose access to being in the presence of the older boy. He and Albus had a fine, silent friendship. They both liked studying magic even though the two are weak in it. Specially transfiguration.

"Oh, thanks." Hugo looked up again, his eye now catching a glimpse of the third year transfiguration textbook. His eyes shone evidently, then he exclaimed in admiration without thinking first "Is that your transformation book?"

"Uh, yes. Why?" Scorpius looked at him skeptically. Why would any first year look so excited for a book two years higher than his level?

"Well, i love transfiguration so much, and i used to borrow Albus's books when he got them early in the summer. Though he hadn't given me this year's book, and Rose never allowed me near her textbooks." He diverted his gaze away in nervousness.

"Really? Albus and I also like transfiguration. Uhh, if you want, you can borrow it." Scorpius said, somehow enthusiastic. People didn't usually like transfiguration, and this boy, two years younger than himself, was showing a lot of interest in the subject.

"Don't you need it for homework or studying in general though?" asked Hugo quizzically.

"Ah, ri~ght. I think... if you give me a day or two, maybe i can find a solution." Scorpius replied. He kind of wanted to be able to let this boy borrow his book.

"Okay. See you tomorrow after classes?" Hugo suggested, and Scorpius nodded. The two parted ways, each to their respective common room.

Truthfully, the second day, Scorpius and Hugo met after their classes had been wrapped up. "Hey." Hugo greeted, it being returned by Scorpius.

"So i thought of a solution. I think it will work most of the year. I can give you my transfiguration book during the weekends because i finish all my homework for Mondays on Fridays to get free weekends. I can give it to you at night right before curfew, then you will have to return it on breakfast on Mondays. Is this good enough?" He suggested his idea. Thankfully, it had been easy to find it. He felt like he needed to find a loophole for the other boy though he really wasn't obliged to do so.

Hugo smiled brightly. He was allowed to borrow the third year student's transfiguration book! Scorpius didn't act stingy like Rose, and he wasn't as distant as he was with Albus. He could barely contain his happiness to actually getting to have new information within his hands. That day was a Tuesday, and Hugo already couldn't wait for the upcoming Friday night to arrive.

He, since then, starting chatting randomly with Scorpius. It was mostly about transfiguration. Hugo would ask questions about second year classes, and how third year classes had been going. Scorpius would anseer eagerly to the questions, squeezing his memory for any detail he could ever recall. It was Scorpius's second friend ever, the first being Albus, of course.

Hugo in turn could also say that Scorpius was his very first friend since he joined Hogwarts for his first year a couple months ago. For that, Scorpius had a little promise, in the back of his mind, to treausre this frienship, even of not not as much as he did with his friendship with Albus. Speaking of Albus... Scorpius planned on telling him about Hugo. Maybe the three can be friends...
