Hi, all! I know it has been a while since I have posted anything on here, but I am making a comeback starting with oneshots. This one is no exception! Who knows? Some of them might turn into full-length fanfics in the future, depending on interest from you, the readers, and/or whether or not my muse tempts me into turning it into a complete masterpiece. For now, please enjoy the first of many oneshots!

I do not own Digimon, but I DO own Ms. Koizumi and the maids at the cafe (I am not trying to spoil; this is only to clarify which characters are mine and which belong to Toei.).

Spellbound for Paradise

That bell could not have rung at an earlier time. I was the first to rush out of my English class in Odaiba Junior High School. I had seriously bolted out of my seat the very second the bell had chimed its first chime, not bothering to wait for Kari or Davis let alone part words.

I sprinted down the hallway, met with annoyed glares, "Slow down" warnings, and showers of profanity. My up-and-down-the-court cruises in basketball were at work in my dodging other students and teachers until I made it downstairs to the main entrance, where Cody was waiting for me. From the way he hunched over against the wall, I could safely assume he had to hustle over here from his school, too.

"Cody..." I began, catching my breath for a moment before continuing. "Did you...just get...here?"

"Five...minutes ago," he responded after a deep gulp of air. "Do you...have...the tickets?"

I quickly dropped my backpack to dig them out before anyone caught up to me. My hands shook in their quest to locate them. All of my textbooks and notebook were present, though I crammed them in during my hasty exit, but no tickets. Shit! I thought I had put them in my bag.

A throat clearing sounded behind me, making me stop dead upon the feminine tone. Damn, I was dead, and thank Azulongmon Cody didn't go to school here, but at least he had been able to escape disciplinary action...for now.

I, on the other hand, had no such luck, as I turned around to see a danger worse than any Digimon we had faced.

Ms. Koizumi's smile, albeit warm, screamed amusement to give discipline to the nearest offending kid. I proved no exception upon facing her brown eyes, pixie cut red hair, and curvy body. She was gorgeous by teacher standards, but the menace behind that figure was anything but. Why did Mr. Kanazono have to retire?

"Takaishi, I think you had better come with me." She crooked her finger, betraying her honeyed voice. Finding the tickets became the least of my problems until I caught a glimpse of two tan slips in one of her suit pockets. Damn!

"Have a seat, Takeru." She gestured to one of two wooden chairs in front of her wide, wooden desk. Old-looking books and jars full of eyes, seeds, animal parts, and feathers sat on her desk, replacing Kanazono's office supplies. Was she into the occult?

Aside from those differences, the room was a normal principal's office. Bookcases contained file folders, books, and supplies. A side table next to the filing cabinet held a computer. I had never had a reason to be in her office to see the changes...until now.

"We have never met, Takeru, but from your records, you're a good student." Koizumi took a seat at her desk, chilling expression melting into concern as she clasped her hands on the desk. "So why were you running in the hallway? Yes, I've overheard the complaints."

And here I thought her office was nowhere near where I tried to leave from.

When I didn't respond, she continued. "Was it because of these?" Ms. Koizumi pulled the tickets out of her pocket. "Yes. I know about the new maid cafe that opened in Odaiba, and it is indeed for adults."

I sat up straight under the falling temperature of the room...or was that just me? My hands shook in my lap under her gaze. I really didn't need a suspension or even a detention on my record. I watched her turn to face the window overlooking the soccer field, but when she regarded me again her features softened.

"I won't take disciplinary action this time," she finally said. "As far as I'm concerned, we'll call it a warning. However, I am curious as to why you want to go to this maid cafe." She faced me again, eyebrow raised. "And your friend looks younger than you."

"Well..."

"What if I said there was a way for you to get in?" the principal suddenly inquired.

"Pardon?" I leaned in closer. Where in the hell had that come from?

"Yes, you have heard me right," she said. "Luckily, I have just the thing."

"Excuse me," I interjected before she continued. "What are you talking about?"

Koizumi smirked as she dug in her drawer. "Takeru, do you believe in magic?"

It was my turn to raise an eyebrow because this conversation had morphed from serious to...odd within seconds. Moments ago, I was in trouble. Now she's asking if I believed in magic. Did that explain all the funky knickknacks on her desk?

"I understand it's a hard question, Takeru," Ms. Koizumi said. "But the truth is, it's no different from Digimon."

"What?" I blurted out before I could stop myself. I also wanted to say "Hell yeah it's much different," but thought better of it. Besides, I wanted to know how she knew about Digimon considering she had only been in Odaiba for five months.

"I know all about what happened here in Odaiba," she continued. "More than you know." She finally pulled a vial out of the drawer and placed it on the desk. The vial contained a red liquid that seemed to glow. Or was it just a glare from the glass? "We witches talk in the magical world, even visit the real and Digital worlds."

Okay, now I was at my limit. Koizumi was crazy. So I was supposed to believe that was a potion on her desk?

"You believe I am crazy, and that is expected. However, it is the truth. I am a witch, and this is a potion that will help you get in."

"Back up," I stopped her. "You're a witch?"

"I am," she confirmed. "I have watched the events of the Digidestined and have been curious about them. To come across two in one day...I must say I am glad to have taken this job. That is why, as a fan, I want you to have this potion. Unfortunately, I only have the one right now, so your friend is out of luck...unless you want to sneak him in. I must let you know that I do not recommend that option."

"Let me make sure I understand," I said. "You're a witch from a world neither real nor Digital and a fan of us? Not only that, you want me to take a potion to get me into that cafe?"

She shrugged. "If that's how you feel, you don't have to drink the potion. Then you'll be stopped at the door."

I really wanted into that cafe. I knew it was an adult cafe, but when I thought about it, Cody and I hadn't thought of a plan to sneak past the I.D. check. They would recognize we were underage right away and bar us from entry. This potion would change that. The snag was that only one of us could get in since there was only one potion...unless I enlisted some Digimon help to get in. Yeah, that could work.

"I'll take the potion." I took it off of her desk and popped the cork off of the vial. Upon sniffing it, a sweet, floral scent smacked me. "How will it get me in? Will I be transformed? Transported? Both?"

"That is for you to find out, Takeru," Koizumi said. "The only hint I will give you is that you think of the place you want to be, and you'll be there."

"But what about..." She held up a hand to silence me.

"I have given you your hint; the rest is up to you."

Damn. How was I supposed to trust the potion now if I would only get half of an answer? Now I didn't think I wanted to go to the cafe, especially without Cody if this potion was supposed to transport one person to the place he or she wanted to go. I wanted to go to the maid cafe. The sneaking in with Digimon was out of the question. Then again, I couldn't tell Cody I scored a potion from a witch who was also my principal.

However, I could go in without a ticket if I wanted to. I eyed the vial in my hand, thinking I could pull it off without Cody before he and I went together. The tickets didn't expire for another two days. Plus, I could use my long imprisonment by Koizumi as an excuse for missing our chance today. A little voice inside me warned that I should wait for Cody so we could do it together, but a sneak peek sat in my palm. Maybe I could just drink it, teleport there, and stay long enough just to see the atmosphere, then teleport out. Surely my principal had a potion to help me escape, so I would be safe.

I took a deep breath, then downed the potion in one swig. An explosion of...honey and...cinnamon dominated my tongue as I swallowed it. The floral smell overwhelmed me like one of my mom's perfumes. I thought about the new maid cafe, specifically the inside as the foreign drink made its way into my system. I imagined a typical maid cafe I would go to in Odaiba, only with all of the maids as adults and in scant, two-piece maid dresses leaving little to the imagination. Curves ran rampant in my vision of that cafe, and I looked forward to experiencing it.

"One thing I must mention is that I don't have a return potion made," warned Ms. Koizumi. "Sorry, I didn't know I would catch you running in the halls today."

"Now you tell me." The room turned into a hall of mirrors, and my body gradually matched the weight of an anchor. What was going on?

"You're a Digidestined, Takeru." Her voice swam in my brain. What was in that drink? "You can..."

I didn't hear the rest of that sentence before unconsciousness took over.

I heard female chatter when consciousness started to return. Female chatter? As in many voices? My eyes snapped open to see there were indeed women appearing in their twenties surrounding me. Five of them. Three brunette, and two blonde like me. Then I noticed their brown maid outfits, which were not quite what I imagined. They came close in their short skirts and revelation of cleavage. One of the brunettes was a tiny, short-haired package with green eyes and ample breasts threatening to burst out of her dress. The other two had plenty of height on them. One of them had waist-length straight hair and blue eyes, and the other had shoulder-length curly hair and brown eyes. Although their chests were slightly dwarfed by the tiny woman's, they still impressed me. The two blondes – both with shoulder-length wavy hair and green eyes – had the most curves out of the quintet and made me wonder if I would see a show. Was I in the maid cafe?

Upon surveying my surroundings, I could have been wrong. In fact, it felt more like a dressing room judging from the mirrors and racks filled with risque clothes. But I clearly wasn't supposed to be in here.

"Wherever did you come from, honey?" one of the blondes wondered.

"Isn't she a little young?" the tall, straight-haired brunette asked.

"'She?'" I repeated, then noticed the sudden change in my voice – the reason the woman called me a "she." I looked down to see...breasts threatening to burst out of my school uniform. My hair had grown as well; it now reached the middle of my chest. I reached behind me to feel that my butt had received the same treatment.

"Yes, 'she,'" the same brunette confirmed, stepping forward. "And aren't you from Odaiba Middle School?" She studied the uniform, expression serious complete with a raised eyebrow betraying her beauty.

"I am," I simply answered. Something told me these chicks would not believe how I really ended up in their dressing room.

"I don't know how you ended up in here, but this maid cafe is eighteen and up, dear." She grabbed my arm, yanked me to my feet, and dragged me to a door presumed to be the exit. I caught my reflection in a nearby mirror before she called security to frogmarch me out. I saw that not only did I make it in the maid cafe but I had transformed into a girl. I was a curvy, full-figured version of myself ready to pop out of my now-tight uniform any second. Koizumi hadn't told me I would become a girl...but she did say the potion would help me get in, and get in I did.

Now I was on my way out, for the maid handed me off to a man reminding me of Leomon. If Leomon was bald and wore sunglasses. His black bouncer suit strained against his muscles. He also looked pissed as hell and was rough in collecting me. His brown eyes pierced my blue ones and brought a chill rivaling my first encounter with Bakemon.

"Sneaking into an adult cafe and underage drinking?" the guard said quizzically upon taking a whiff of my breath. Damn, the potion lingered on my breath, too? "Where are your parents? Are they here?"

"Um, no," I replied, holding back a snort. Like my parents even knew about this place let alone visit.

"I'll have the police pick you up, and you can tell them where you live." He escorted me toward a small office, then picked up a phone on the thin wooden desk. "You're in middle school, young lady," he continued as he dialed the number. "You have your whole life ahead of you to do this when you turn eighteen. Don't ruin your future or brain cells by doing something like this."

You don't have to tell me, I thought as he placed the receiver to his ear to speak with my ride. He should have a talk with the principal who put me here in this legal mess. Needless to say, I avoided telling him that second part out of fear I would be tossed into a psych ward. Speaking of the principal, I was certain she was either laughing her ass off or truly didn't know about a flaw in her potion. I really didn't want to think an educator would trick me and get me in trouble. That said, I needed to head back to school and have a talk with Koizumi...if that was her name. She could have been a Digimon for all I knew.

First, I needed to endure a police lecture with a trip home in said car. That would hopefully give me time to think about how I would sell all of this to Mom.
